Same here! It was my wedding song from July 4th, 1987. We divorced in November, 1993 but this song will always have a special place in my heart. I'm remarried going on 23 yrs now and love my wife to the moon and back. But this song still gets to me.

I was born in Britain but emigrated to the Netherlands as a child, but never ever lost my pride for England, and the treasure of talent it is. Plus british people are way kinder than Dutch.
saw this film at mile end cinema as double feature 8pm McVicar. 11pm Midnight Express. Great films. At same cinema I saw Escape from New York & The Terminator (again a double feature)! McVicar was my favourite tho. Wally Probin was captured on the roof of mile end post office. I loved the East End back then Great pubs, best designer clothes, good mates, the most beautiful girls, and real villains too.
I remember being 12 years old, carrying my little am fm radio with me everywhere, just waiting to hear this song again and again and again. I still love it as much today, as I did then.
When my parents and I were travelling to New York City to visit our relatives in November of 1980, this song was playing all over the radio dial. The music went well with the November scenery as we went north.
when i was in HMP Wayland my cell mate would play this song and the other Mcvicar songs over and over and over again on his cassette. That film and those songs effected the way he did his time, he thought he was in the film, he was crazy, fighting all the time, we ended up on the punishment block together and we got shipped off together to HMP Blundestone, aka Plunge erstone. On the prison van he got the guard to play the cassette, i remember rollimg over the flat East Anglian landscape with these songs lol he made my time in jail very surreal. Life immitating art. Mad

Without your love, free like a flying dove as I solemnly miss your tender loving kiss But miss you I do as our love was so true as you came to me from the ashes and me to you in a dream wearing blue Surreal it felt to have you caught up in my arms as our hearts fluttered like mad as I wooed you with charms You promised we would love each other forever and that was your vow not you took it back as I cry from just below my brow Now with you in Bexley and Lincoln for me it's goodbye my darling never again your face will I see (mai un messaggio misto) ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💙💙💙💙💙💙
I’ve not heard this for at least 25 yrs
Just reminiscing ❤️❤️
My day today in this troubled world 🌎

Your right, this is the most beautiful song EVER written. BY anybody,
@@MrBonafida Agree it's a great tune. I also like "God only knows" by the Beach Boys. Word has it Paul McCartney cried listening to it.

This song is just beautiful...a perfect valentines message to the one you love!
I love how the singer is acknowledging he has everything in the universe, but all of that means nothing without his love.
Beautiful song. Great movie & soundtrack.
Do you ever get the feeling..you are lucky to be born in Britain and be gifted with our very own great movies and music like this....

Lmbo! Born and raised in America and loved this song and the movie and had the soundtrack back in 1980 or 81
There are many exceptionally gifted musicians across the Pond. We in the US are so grateful they bestowed their gifts and democracy, upon us.
@@tommygaffney5721 thank
This is why my British friend talks about Roger's success when he comes to visit us. He can act, sing, etc. What can't he do?
This nearly always makes me cry. I love hearing Roger singing just about anything, but ballads are especially lovely.
I suppose I'll get comments about this (and not compliments), but as a Christian, I always felt like this is a song about my relationship with God.
@Janet Aldrich what a sweet thought. May you only receive compliments.
Makes me think of my dad🖤 played it at his funeral
@@lornafield8153 beautiful

Roger Daltrey perfect.
It's a great thing when someone is blessed with such a voice. It's even better when they share it.
