- McVicar is Roger Daltrey's fourth solo album, and also the soundtrack album of McVicar, the film of the same name. It also has all of the members on the Who playing on the album, with Kenney Jones on drums.
The album was released in June, 1980.
The album reached #22 in the US charts and #39 in the UK charts.
Killer forgotten about tune. I was jammin to this in 1980 at 14...and still am at 55! Born a rocker... die a rocker!!
I can't believe this song doesn't get more credit,such a very underrated song and Roger's vocals are blistering on this song.

I saw Daughtry back in the '80s when he did the Keith Moon tribute album under a raging Moon. Yoko Ono showed up with her son Sean, which was pretty cool!. He had a few other gas who I forgot but what a great show at Madison square garden, why you did the tribute to Keith Moon there was seven drummers doing under a raging Moon what a treat Roger kicked ass that night!!! Glad I was there!!!

Came back to UK just after the riots in 1981 and eveyone involved I knew was listening to this album. the working class are entitled to take back everything robbed from them by the rich English public school scumbags who run our country. McVicar did what he had to do to survive without ever grassing or selling out. He was a working class hero and so is R Daltrey

and they managed to get a great Memphis-style horns sound in there as well (alternating with the stylistic sweep of "Live and Let Die "'s orchestral approach) .
The film was partly filmed in HMP Durham, where the Yorkshire Ripper died today 13th Nov 2020.
