Videos like this and the road trips are what keeps me coming back. Kyle and Alyssa are the best test drive car reviewers. Fairly point out the good and the bad, plus give constructive feedback, and they understand what people want and expect from a car in each segment or price category. Thank You!!
I concur with Alyssa's view, I also had the Audi e-tron and it did have some software glitches of things resetting to factory spec but, the features worked when I got the car. I also feel the pricing is too high for a new brand, that is not doing more than the tried and known brands, plus having the sort of software glitches both this and the Polestar 4 has. The Polestar 4 sells in China from mid $30K-45K for the top loaded model, as the US model is based locally, they could have priced it a little lower to generate buzz and draw more customers. In my mind, this is more like an electric V90 Cross Country, with a bit more ground clearance, I wouldn't be surprised if the V90 CC comes out looking similar, having a lower ride height and without air suspension.
The ground clearance bears mentioning. It is higher than a lot of competitors, especially with the abiltiy to adjust for off-road. That is key for those of us who enjoy taking our vehicles into the mountains.
Great video Kyle & Alyssa. Stylistically I liked the P4 more than P3 when checked out at a space. Curious to see how much different they drive? Waiting for the P5 to join our P1.
With Kyle's nerdy "I like each car that's fun to drive", these videos need Alyssa for consumer balance. I mean: how can you call this "Alyssa's First Look & Driving Review" when Kyle cuts her off half the time and does 90% of the review. Tune it down a bit man!
Cannot wait to see a range test on this car, I love everything from bumper to bumper especially with the charge port in the correct Tesla supercharger location, this should do well in Canada. I think it is premium ride, well done Polestar!
While I recognize that there remain a few issues with Polestar and the 3 in particular, I think the main issue is that they have not rolled out enough showrooms/service centers to confidently buy one her in UT while the closest service center is in Denver and they have been very unclear whether they’d pay for the tow across the mountains in the event of the problem. I was actually in New Canaan after I saw your Pop’s video about the Polestar showroom, but it was locked tight and empty when I tried to go by there while on a trip back last week. So, in addition to my service concerns, I haven’t been able to see one, much less drive one. Living in the Wasatch, I would love to have an EV that seems designed for the mountains and winter, but I DKed my order after a few months given that they seem to be no closer to opening in the SLC-area - although there were rumors of a Park City showroom. I still have more than a year before I need another car, but I’m just not confident that they’ll be far enough along by then to make the 3 a viable option. Too bad.
Why is the hood so long? what's under there that needs that much space? It's one of the things that GM got it right with the BOLT EV It's all passenger space.
tryied the polestar 4 last week in italy. The 4 looks and feels mega premium, amazing to drive, like a top class mercedes. Software and everything is amazing. I will just prefer the sw to be a bit more minimal! But great car!
I have concerns with its software readiness .. my feeling is it’s going to be fairly incomplete, in line with industry’s trend Kyle’s already spoken off.
The note about the dead zone on the capacitive steering wheel is such a good detail. I drive the same way she does and I'd be annoyed if the car said I wasn't on the wheel when I am. I'd end up looking for a way to turn that feature off if I could.
How does it drive compared to the ex90? Is the ex90 as sporty but w more space? The biggest issue is the pricing. It’s hard to justify this over the rivian or iX.
Just different vehicles between Rivian and this though. The Rivian is a more off-road oriented and 3 row vehicle. The Polestar 3 is smaller and sportier design.

Q6 configurator shows Prestige Quattro with metallic paint, 20” wheels, and cold weather package is under $78K with delivery. Why would you choose the Polestar 3 over that?
4 years ago I bought a M3P and my buddy leased a Polestar 2. He hated and couldn't get out of the lease fast enough because the software was terrible. For no reason the A/C wouldn't work, then a reboot it would work. He said it was odd because the EV part was good, but the "car stuff" was terrible. Does Polestar still have buggy software or did they fix that?
On the Polestar website it seems these don't have the yellow brake calipers and yellow seat belts with out the performance pack but Kyle says this one has no performance pack. Im confused!
Great video! I want to comment on the Performance of the vehicle, it's nice to see Polestar 3 with more 2 modes for the motors, having this makes you feel like you get what you wanted by going Polestar and Not Volvo. I am disappointed in the Polestar 4 RWD version's lack of power (that's the one I would choose) as I feel for the Polestar brand, they should have made the P* 4 like the Zeekr 001 and have a higher performing RWD version as the base car, with an option for a "Sport/Performance Package" that offer a boost in power, adaptive suspension and a wheel/tire upgrade. The Pro Pack is a missed opportunity for this "performance" brand, larger wheels and striped seat belt could be replaced with the aforementioned Sport Package. The Polestar 4 is like a base Volvo S60 B5 in it's power output, the 4 should have @ 300/300 hp/tq minimum in the base configuration. Hopefully, they will take input from (potential) customers and make this change to the car.
This is a beautiful car that needs better mechanicals and software for a 2025 model. For the price it should be 800V, have more range, and be quicker. I do know they are planning 800V.

For some reason, please don´t ask why, the Polestar 3 can only charge at 11 kW (3 phase, 16 A, 230 V) in Europe, but the Polestar 4 has an optional 32 A charger that lets you charge at 22 kW. The Polestar 3 has a bigger battery though. Does that make any sense? I don´t know, but many things with Polestar don´t make any sense these days. Chris from the Car Maniac UA-cam channel tested them side by side in Germany and came to the conclusion that Polestar 4 is better in many ways (interior design and materials, faster AC charging, etc.) even though Polestar 3 costs more and is supposed to be the top premium product in the Polestar lineup. The only thing you have to live with is the fact that Polestar 4 has nor rear window which is kind of weird again.
