Oh and a shout out to Lacy for now bailing on you half way thru the video. Just look at her face she was really scared a few times.
I already replied but I would like to point out I have been extensively critical of Lucid in numerous videos. They are far from perfect. I've driven dozens of cars in this test and it was not as scary as plenty of others. This was Lacey's first ever time doing the test, so naturally she would have these reactions. And I'm glad! It's reminiscent of many people's reactions in these scenarios. But in most cases, the Lucid's ADAS is fine. On par with most automakers, who are all unfortunately subpar to Tesla (and even Rivian at times). But I hope they all improve and I know Lucid's engineers are working on it. I'm allowed to praise where it excels and I have multiple road trip films pointing out where it absolutely falls on its face.
1. If they’re subpar to Tesla, why doesn’t your scoring reflect that? 2. It’s clear your proximity to lucid engineers is affecting your judgement. This was embarrassing
This is a crazzzzy take by you guys. Dont let the little teensy tiny powerful motors cloud your judgement over whats actually important. This is an embarrassment on lucids part for even letting people try to use this piece of software.
@@gmv0553 Yes, they have, but they don't have a competitor ahead of them in software superiority, leaving no one to compare to. Lucid, on the other hand, observes everything unfolding, is aware of the benchmark that’s been set, yet still allows their software to be tested and compared. This is not a wise decision, especially considering all the extra hardware they have.
Honestly, you were praising the feature a lot, but the video seemed to show that it’s definitely flawed. I’m sure it has its moments where it works really well, but it did not do it here.
This was god awful ADAS. I know Lucid employees watch out of spec, and this was absolutely cringe and they should be embarrassed. Lucid does a lot of things well, but this was not one of them.
"if you think this was pretty good, I'd like to see what you think is bad" 100% agree, that was a terrible drive, and this video should have been more critical.
Wow crazy. This not good at all. My wife was getting nervous just watching. I’m trying to get her to use the FSD on out Model 3. Had to show her a video of FSD driving in San Francisco to calm her down. Praising this is really a disservice.
That ADAS is flat awful. It hurts your credibility to apologize for it. Take your Model 3 out there with 13.2 and then tell me that Lucid is not bad at this.
Wow! That section where it swerved back & forth going down to one lane was insane! Looked seriously unsafe & dangerous. I give FSD crap, but on its worst day it doesn’t look as scary as what I just witnessed. Jordan & Lacey are going to need a few drinks after that drive!
That software is a joke. This guy is trying to pretend that lucid is any good maybe to given future vehicles like the gravity. The girl's reaction is very honest
lol no they're not. That's only true where your friendly neighborhood billionaires have convinced the government to close the door on competition. Go look at the systems in China
This is actually crazy, I would have terminated the test after it swerved all over the place like that. Incredibly dangerous. Why would you even let the car do that?? You should have taken over immediately and disengaged it, especially when it swerved left. I love out of spec, but it’s really disappointing to see you guys let cars put others in danger like this in busy conditions. If no one was around then fair play, but there was traffic passing you on the left when it swerved like that, crazy!
No one was in danger. I've conducted dozens of these tests, with other cars who also swerve. And I've always been fully aware of my surroundings and take over any time there could be any remote chance of danger. Just clarifying.
@@Jordan_Schiefer Maybe so, but in my opinion, an ADAS system that would catch the attention of law enforcement behind you would be a failure in my book. You would absolutely get pulled over for the things it did and I'm surprised nobody else on the road didn't call the state police for potential drunk driving. This was one of the worst performances I've seen and I've watched just about all the ADAS tests you guys performed. It's unfortunate too because I think the Lucid Air overall is a wonderful technological achievement.
The second time this lucid nearly killed you, you should’ve ended the test. Not continue to see if it would improve and continue to praise lucid motors.
My job isn't to quit a test halfway through. Plenty of cars were scarier than this. But yes this was also scary, and scary that they advertise it as so capable.
@@Jordan_Schiefer This test deserves a discussion spot on a future Out of Spec podcast. I would especially be interested in hearing a comparison against the others you consider scarier than this.
This should be called an "Out of Brain" Review..How could Jordan not slam Lucid for releasing such a clearly dangerous ADAS system that could have caused a serious accident at several points in this short drive..Unbelievably relaxed and biased Lucid reporting that is quite shameful. Thank goodness for Tesla and V13.2.2 and their clearsighted vision for a Camera only approach with intelligent Ai software enabling a Tesla to drive safely and fully autonomously on any road without the need for premapping..Lucid needs to licence Tesla FSD and fast, before it seriously maims or kills one of its owners...!
It still amazes me how my 2015 Tesla Model S with Gen 1 Autopilot can stay within lanes flawlessly while Lucid still can't manage that basic concept in 2024. Lucid should just license MobileEye, which powered my Autopilot before Tesla created their own in-house system.
That system is horrible. It can't even handle minor curves (WITH HD maps) without trying to kill you. I do not EVER remember a time where a Tesla couldn't handle minor bends in the road like they encountered. 😅
It seems to be tentatively offering the features of navigate on autopilot, but requires mapping, and still performs worse than that ever did. It’s honestly shocking how bad this was
Holy cow, this is a wonderful illustration of confirmation bias. Jordan is normally an honest reviewer, but this is an example of where he is just over the top building up Lucid's hardware and supposed capabilities when the truth revealed in this video is just horrific. I have not seen Lacey before on this channel, so I assume she is new at this job (apologies to her if I am wrong in that assessment), but even if it is her first day, I say Kyle should double her salary, as she is the honest broker in this review. The other thing Kyle needs to think about is criteria when a test should be aborted. There were several very dangerous moments in this video when the autopilot almost drove them off the road or into a truck. Imagine if this video had ended in a crash with loss of life and the video were later played back to a jury in a wrongful death suit against Out-of-Spec. I think that there is ample evidence on the video that the senior Out-of-Spec employee (Jordan) had plenty of warning of dangerous vehicle performance that should have prompted a halt to the testing before "the accident". On top of that, he repeatedly made excuses for the car's driving errors (poor judgement), which should have prompted an end to testing. Thank goodness there was no accident, because if there were, Out-of-Spec could have found itself in a ton of legal trouble. Hopefully the NTSB will get wind of this video and take immediate action against Lucid to have this feature deactivated until fixed.
I (and the car) were never out of control or in a dangerous situation. I'm wholly allowed to praise where they excel and criticize where they failed, and I mentioned many times how rough it was. Still not the worst car I've tested in this test. It's pretty wild to see the reactions to this video in the comments...
Lacey nails it “It feels like you are in a car with a friend who can’t drive” 😂 Jordan this video is a bit out of character/typically very sensible judgement for you tbh :/
I had a similar near disaster with Cadillacs pre mapped Super cruise in a Lyriq. Between Orlando and Tampa the i4 was widening- the construction was complete but the road wasn’t rescanned and the Lyriq wanted to plow in the to median because it used to not be there.
This system looks like an extreme safety hazard and if auto pilot had a recall or something silly that this video is like the billboard for legal action because Lacey’s face tells you that this thing insights sheer fear
You are incorrect about Tesla’s vision only system being the reason for any “phantom braking” you may have experienced and when.. You don’t know how the system works or if software was responsible, you just know it’s vision only. I would say it is more likely software was the cause vs cameras not being able to see clearly or determine if there’s actually anything if front of the car because I’d bet the system would require you take over completely if it was at all unsure if there was an object in front of you - vs just braking out of uncertainty. Phantom braking is more likely a bug or software that’s not better optimized yet. When the cameras actually cannot see something clearly OR are blocked etc the screen will flash red and you will be told to take over immediately. There’s plenty videos showing what happens when they cameras actually cannot see or are unsure
It's clearly a software bug. The phantom braking for oncoming headlights started with 12.5.4. got better with 12.5.6. Seems to be fixed in 13.2.1 although I'll withhold final judgement until I've used 13.2 for a few weeks.
Thanks for sharing this video. It shows that owners can not trust self driving features. I sailed a sailboat across oceans using autopilot, but monitored it the entire time, because sometimes it failed. The difference with cars is that on the highway a very small error can result in disaster. Driving assist on my Mach E really makes driving easier, but I watch it like a hawk, ready to take over at the first sign of a problem. I was pleased to see the Mach E got a very good score in the Hogback Challenge, but I still monitor it closely.
I think this tester fundamentally misunderstands the self driving challenge. It’s all software and intense AI training at this point. Saying the car has all the hardware, now they just need to “dial in the software” reveals a very shallow understanding of the problem space. Tesla “had the hardware” (HW3) since 2018ish and 6 years of software iteration and they still aren’t there Also the infotainment computer has nothing to do with the self driving processing power. So saying the UI is super snappy, is irrelevant regarding how the ADAS will perform (they probably do have a powerful chip there, but it would be different hardware) Jordan I love your content so much, especially your character during races, but this video really threw me. Maybe you guys can do another collab with Dirty Tesla to up skill the team on how these systems work and how they can be reviewed? ❤
Eventually everyone will have to license FSD just like they had to switch to the NACS port. 13.2 is working very very well and FSD works everywhere. I've used it on highways, rural roads through NH and Vermont. Big cities like Boston and NYC and small cities like Newport RI which has narrow single lane colonial streets. There has been a lot of two steps forward one step back with FSD but the progress has been impressive. Nobody else has tried to solve the general self driving problem. Waymo is limited to a few cities because it requires pre mapping which isn't scalable. Ford threw in the towel a couple of years ago, GM just gave up. It's possible that China has a comparable system but we can't use Chinese software for national security reasons. Biden has already banned Chinese software and you know that Trump isn't going to reverse that.
@ Autopilot does not do satisfactory Lane changes here in Europe. And those bends are on the edge of the allowed envelope for curvy roads - again here in Europe, i guess that is different in the US. I drive with Autopilot as much as i can, and i do not see phantom braking anymore. But it is really timid. Autopilot would not have any problems, disengagements or show any erratic behavior on such simple roads.
His theory on "redundant sensors" has long been proven incorrect. It seems he forgot or never knew Tesla had a radar with the cameras. That was when phantom braking was at it's WORST. When two different sensor systems disagree, which one do you believe? 😅 Also, v13 of Tesla's FSD has little to no phantom braking (basically no hard braking unless there is an emergency). Doesn't that heavily disprove the point you were trying to make?
You need one sensor system to work well. Adding HD maps, radar and lidar forces the computer to constantly try to make sense of 3 different worlds/maps.... you should have one good map, IMO.
At 3:20 in regards to the LIDAR being active, The only times my Laser Radar detector has gone off in the last year is when there's a Lucid nearby and a few months ago on a dark night when I got a continuous laser alert for about 40 minutes on a 20 mile drive and after parking in an area near an Air National Guard base with helicopters operating.
Adding LIDAR is an optional package. If you don’t pay for it, you will never have it. It can’t be retro-fitted. Even if you add it as an additional package, right now Lucid doesn’t have the software that can use the LADAR. Lucid is promising they will add the software to utilize the LIDAR in a future ATA release. I test drove a Lucid Air yesterday (completely coincidentally with this video being released yesterday). The car itself is very good, but I wouldn’t pay for the Dream Drive Pro hardware because I am not convinced in anyone being able to do self-driving well enough to justify paying thousands of dollars for the advanced hardware, which may never achieve the self-driving goal. I like the Tesla approach to self-driving with pure vision, using standard cameras that every Tesla vehicle is equipped with. There is a lot less money that a Tesla buyer pays for these cameras than for the Lucid advanced hardware, and yet the end result with the Tesla FSD (circa late 2024) is so much better than either Lucid or Rivian (or Ford, GM, Hyundai, etc) can deliver.
@@izgoy-clubagreed, the risk with Tesla’s approach is that they plateau in performance short of full autonomy. That said Tesla’s performance is significantly ahead of their competitors i’d rather pay for known superior performance today rather than potential better performance tomorrow
@@jarrod499 additionally, with Tesla, there is an option to rent FSD for a month for $99. With Lucid, you have to prepay for the Dream Drive Pro ($6,500) without any guarantee it will ever get the software to achieve the same level of self driving that Tesla can already deliver with standard cameras and $99 paid for the month one takes it on a long road trip. I’ve tested FSD in October - November 2024 extensively, having driven thousands of miles on it on highways and hundreds of miles in my metro area. It was definitely worth $99 to rent it for a road trip, but it was petty useless in the city, and even on the interstate during rush hour it was useless. I had to disengage 10-12 times during my 30-minute rush-hour commute. I’m not sure how FSD version 13 performs in the city or on a highway in rush hour, but I wouldn’t pay $8,000 even for version 3 FSD. I’m totally fine driving myself in the city and renting FSD on a monthly basis when I take a long road trip.
I’ve driven about 15,000 miles using FSD-some of it documented on my channel. I've done a 12-hour round trip from LA to Vegas in heavy traffic. Watching this video is nerve-racking, with erratic swerves at 21:48 and almost hitting a divider at 30:10. It also traveled slower than surrounding traffic, causing everyone to pass, and even tried to exit the freeway unexpectedly. I understand some people think FSD v12 or v13 is nearly ready, but in my view, it still has a way to go. That said, it’s nowhere near as risky as something like Dream Cruise. I stopped making videos, because Tesla FSD became boring (which is good thing)
Yeah, after watching Tesla FSD on v13 handle complex LA traffic, dense NYC gridlocks, and curvy backroads with ease (mind you it already has been fantastic for over a year now on the highway) versus Lucid's "ADAS" system, Tesla is WAAAAY ahead of the competition in terms of ADAS.
I’m so shocked that Out of Spec is sooo out of date on Tesla FSD. Almost everything you said about Tesla FSD was incorrect. Like, phantom braking on Tesla was a problem. Over a year since I’ve heard anyone mention phantom braking. Although recently praised for reacting to dangers before the driver ever noticed them. If you have such a strong bias for a product, then you should exclude yourself from reviewing it because we see the result exemplified on this video!
They own a million teslas, just most are older HW3 where phantom braking is still a problem. They are waiting to get V13 on one of their newer AI4 cars and will do an up to date test on it. Their ADAS testing procedure is something like once a year, which works for most automakers since they progress so slowly. Tesla is difficult since there’s always a newer better version out there
My HW4 2025 Tesla Model 3 has phantom brake issues occasionally. It's ignorant to say it's perfect, but it's damn close. Tesla beats Lucid by a landslide, and I'm looking forward to sharing that.
This is the biggest cope I've ever seen in my life. There is no such thing as self-drive with that Lucid. 100% fail. I get that it's a loner and you have to be nice but that's ridiculous. You guys lose credibility points with me on this one. Yet You can criticize Tesla for phantom breaking with V12. Ok.
We're not nice to loaners because they're loaners, I praised Lucid for its engineering and criticized its ADAS with every road trip and other videos too. It's fine for most people and most use-cases but yep, rough in this test. And I stated as such.
Not sure if you've considered this already, but the capacitive wheel line should receive a score when the vehicle doesn't require you to touch it. Not the case in this vehicle but worth thinking about for other tests.
What an insanely scary piece of horrible software. They threw every single piece of hardware available into this and it drive like complete n00b level. Wth they doing?
@@owerobbiTesla made incredible improvement to FSD in late 2024. You should try it before you diss it. I tried FSD in April 2024, and it wasn’t good. Then I tried it again in November 2024, and there was an incredible improvement. And it wasn’t even FSD software version 13 yet. I hear that version 13 is incredibly good.
@@izgoy-club how was I dissing it? It literally ran the stop sign at the exit to the parking lot. I use V13 every single day and love it. In no way was I doubting it
I sent a message to Lucid Motors with a link to this video. They said it was the tester's fault because this is a level 2 system. No matter how defective the software, it is solely the driver's responsibility to keep it from crashing into barriers. I disagree. At best, they are guilty of false advertising. They also blamed the driver for taking his hands off the wheel. But the system is supposed to keep drivers from using the system this way - it clearly doesn't. NHSTA should shut it down now for predictable abuse. They said it was only designed for highway use. This was a major highway that it is supposedly pre-mapped for. Finally, they said the market is competitive, so they have to offer the product. Ah, there it is. "We know the product sucks, but we will go bankrupt if we don't offer it".
FSD 13 on AI4 - will take you from your garage, through the challenge and park itself at the end, and you will not need to touch the steering wheel or pedals. Nothing else on the market can do this.
@@ZinadineCygan Unfortunately, there is no formal definition of "safer" for self driving cars yet. Tesla FSD has driven significantly more miles than Waymo. With Waymo, we do not see the human driver taking over remotely.
26:16 Glad you mentioned a construction zone. It looks like the lanes have shifted in that zone, which means the lane lines are not in the same place as normal. I stand corrected. 28:14 You mentioned the construction alignment changed.
2:50 - "They've promised future updates…" If Tesla's "level 5 autonomy next year" every year for the past eight years, and the collapse of Fisker leaving Oceans without half their promised "coming in a future update" key features have taught me anything, it's not to ever trust "coming in a future update." (Heck, even Rivian has done that, scaling back the level of autonomy gen 1 vehicles will ever get, requiring gen 2 for the features that were promised back in 2022.)
I’m concerned, is OOS selling out to Lucid? There is zero reason for Jordan to give praise. Big yikes… Autopilot on my old Model S 2014 is better lmao.
There is a trick for torque in a Tesla. Its not used with FSD anymore but when it was required the way to apply it was to use the scroll wheels. I usually adjusted the speed up or down one MPH but the volume wheel worked also. Turning the wheel was very unreliable but turning a scroll wheel was simple and always worked.
As of now nothing beats FSD V13.2.2.1 I had the same problem with Ford Blue Cruise. On I5 it cut in and out multiple times. Guys this is not safe. I know you guys are pros but the other people around you are not. That could have resulted in a pretty bad accident.
Lucid efficiency is great. But the car that cost half a Million (500k) dollars to manufacture should have great efficiency. But can they do the same efficiency numbers with 50k car. But consumer getting this car for 100k is a steal of the century. Getting a half million car for under 100k.
Kia is so good in Adas performance, not only in Hwy but in City as well. He is saying Korean products are bad. I can imagine how inaccurate his reviews are.
Video is so biased toward Lucid, man I do watch ur videos, but Lucid's " fsd', is in its infancy still, .... lots and lots to do. They need much much more then their daddy's money to crack true FSD, like tesla has done. Ty for the video.
I really like your work Jordan. In this particular video (only)😮, it does look like you’re playing down some pretty egregious behavior from the car. I really don’t think you have a particular agenda (or the video itself wouldn’t be shown) so I chalk this up to not fully weighing your words versus what was going on.
Hoping you watch other hogbacks that were just as scary or worse, but looks like this one got all the attention. I am hopeful but simultaneously wouldn't trust this system on the slightest curve. Two things can be true at once!
LMAO you need to be honest to make other systems look good or bad. If you say, every car is good, even if they’re not really makes it hard to tell what car is really good compared to what car isn’t. My favorite review was the dodge review mostly because you could tell that there was disappointment, but it makes you think that there’s money that changes hand sometimes and money doesn’t mean physical money but the fear of not getting to review a car again.
I realize that lucid lent you the car and you have an incentive to oblique in your criticism but that looked like a dumpster fire dreamdrive performance to me. Lucid should be asked when they expect the performance to improve, right now this would be a serious negative to me where I in the market for another ev.
Your emphasis on not preferring Tesla’s camera only (FSD) vs adding radar and or lidar is short sighted. To come close to what Tesla can do you should include the costs to do so in today’s dollars and the future limitations other approaches bring or limit. No system today is perfect but only Tesla has a principled pathway to it. Your comments about remapping limitations are self incriminating to your initial position statements. We know how to interstate reactions to vision/ sound and tactile based systems because we go through the world in that manner. Because of this common view billions of human interactions are directly applicable to training of the AI. For radar or lydar assumptions must be made pre and post inference then again by the driver. “Optimization of end hardware”is called software. Radar and lydar limit the stride of AI development as does premapping. Yes Tesla is that far ahead and because of first this type of first principle development.
What the heck? That looked crazy dangerous and scary to use. And it ranked middle of the pack? I get the point about Kia stuff turning off without warning. But honestly that looked much worse than Autopilot circa 2018? Feature wise it looks on par with “enhanced autopilot” from that era when you had to initiate a lane change then it would complete it?
@ shut up Tesla fanboy. Its embarrassing how you su ck up to Musk. Waymo is much muchhh better than your garbage FSD. Which is still in Beta and people paying a premium price for it. Insanee
I can't imagine Peter Rawlinson asking that from Musk. Also NACS took them a while to figure it out and they did it only because almost everyone else done it before them and they would be left behind.
I understand this is a stress test, but it falls short of expectations. I appreciate Lucid as a vehicle and the hardware is incredible, but the software and ADAS software definitely require significant improvements. I’m optimistic that these issues can be addressed through software updates. However, I’m not sure when these improvements will be available. While Lucid is an exceptional driving vehicle, it has a long way to go in instilling confidence in drivers who rely on ADAS assistance. They need to develop hands-free, eyes-on highway driving capabilities similar to Supercruise, Bluecruise, and FSD. The Dreamdrive Pro hardware appears promising, but they lag behind in developing the necessary software to unlock its full potential. I’m hopeful that they’ll have something in the works by the time Gravity Deliveries commence. The absence of a robust, reliable, and confident ADAS system is the sole obstacle preventing my family from trading in one of our current cars for a Lucid. If you’re not concerned about ADAS and have the financial means to lease or purchase a Lucid, you’ll likely be delighted with the vehicle.
It's always been about the software. The hardware in ADAS vehicles were almost always better than humans. As Musk has said many times, "humans just use two cameras on a swivel". Lucid will not solve this software issue for a LONG time, if ever. They don't have the time, resources, or leadership to make this happen.
@ Yeah, it definitely has a long way to go, although they haven’t marketed it as a full self-driving competitor. However, with the hardware it has, hopefully, it can perform better on highways. While I don’t expect any of their goals to include side-street driving, I would like to see unmapped highways at least receive some reliable autosteer functionality. And perhaps mapped highways can get hands-free eye-on autosteers with automatic lane changes. I understand that Tesla faces criticism for its FSD system, and I believe it’s fair to critique any and all ADAS systems. However, they should also be credited with bringing something quite good to the consumer market. I would trust being driven in a Waymo vehicle over a Tesla, but access to Waymo is very limited. I belong to the camp of wanting more investments in ADAS systems and reducing the number of human-driven vehicles on the road simply because of the poor driving skills of many drivers. I am hopeful that ADAS systems will advance, but I am also cautious about the rollout process.
@@Greg-R I doubt Lucid will be able to do anything more than GM and Ford has implemented. I am curious why you would be more comfortable in a WAYMO, though. Is it just because of LiDAR? LiDAR can have the sun in it's "eyes", too. However, I do not believe it has a wavelength filter for this, because the sun pushes all wavelengths. WAYMO vehicles get stuck. They have a lot of real world data, when compared to the others. They have almost nothing when compared with what Tesla has gathered.
I haven’t owned a Tesla since 2021, and did not have FSD. In regards to needing to put torque on the wheel does FSD not support the same ability to use the volume or speed adjustment knob to show driver attentiveness?

I'm allowed to praise where it excels and I have multiple road trip films pointing out where it absolutely falls on its face.
1. If they’re subpar to Tesla, why doesn’t your scoring reflect that?
2. It’s clear your proximity to lucid engineers is affecting your judgement. This was embarrassing
This is a crazzzzy take by you guys. Dont let the little teensy tiny powerful motors cloud your judgement over whats actually important. This is an embarrassment on lucids part for even letting people try to use this piece of software.
Tesla has been doing this for years!

That ADAS is flat awful. It hurts your credibility to apologize for it. Take your Model 3 out there with 13.2 and then tell me that Lucid is not bad at this.

Surprised pre-mapped is still a thing at all when you can buy a Corolla for $20K and have full lane centering on any road.

This should be called an "Out of Brain" Review..How could Jordan not slam Lucid for releasing such a clearly dangerous ADAS system that could have caused a serious accident at several points in this short drive..Unbelievably relaxed and biased Lucid reporting that is quite shameful.
Thank goodness for Tesla and V13.2.2 and their clearsighted vision for a Camera only approach with intelligent Ai software enabling a Tesla to drive safely and fully autonomously on any road without the need for premapping..Lucid needs to licence Tesla FSD and fast, before it seriously maims or kills one of its owners...!
a fsd v13 review would be cool. especially a big comparison between all adas system even something like the comma 3x
i dont understand how jordan can say its really good so far right after it just tried to run you into the barrier
I love these tests! This system is so disappointing!
It still amazes me how my 2015 Tesla Model S with Gen 1 Autopilot can stay within lanes flawlessly while Lucid still can't manage that basic concept in 2024.
Lucid should just license MobileEye, which powered my Autopilot before Tesla created their own in-house system.
Exactly.
Lacey looked like she wanted out of that car!
Lacey nails it “It feels like you are in a car with a friend who can’t drive” 😂
Jordan this video is a bit out of character/typically very sensible judgement for you tbh :/
I had a similar near disaster with Cadillacs pre mapped Super cruise in a Lyriq. Between Orlando and Tampa the i4 was widening- the construction was complete but the road wasn’t rescanned and the Lyriq wanted to plow in the to median because it used to not be there.
This system really needs to get looked at by by the legal authorities. This thing should not be on the road.
This system looks like an extreme safety hazard and if auto pilot had a recall or something silly that this video is like the billboard for legal action because Lacey’s face tells you that this thing insights sheer fear
If this were the movie Billy Madison, Jordan would have hit a banana peel flown off the cliff and yelling Lucid rules on the way down.
Tesla “had the hardware” (HW3) since 2018ish and 6 years of software iteration and they still aren’t there
Also the infotainment computer has nothing to do with the self driving processing power. So saying the UI is super snappy, is irrelevant regarding how the ADAS will perform (they probably do have a powerful chip there, but it would be different hardware)
Jordan I love your content so much, especially your character during races, but this video really threw me. Maybe you guys can do another collab with Dirty Tesla to up skill the team on how these systems work and how they can be reviewed? ❤
Lucid software and ADAS is embarrassingly bad and dangerous. Compared to FSD 13 it looks a decade behind or more.
Compared to Autopilot from 2013 it is behind.
Teslam go to your home
@@wolfgangpreier9160 it should only be compared to autopilot, not FSD. This is in a different universe from FSD v13.
But he *feels better* with more sensors 😏
😂😂😂😂 you are a dreamer from reality!
Came here to say this
You need one sensor system to work well. Adding HD maps, radar and lidar forces the computer to constantly try to make sense of 3 different worlds/maps.... you should have one good map, IMO.
This is the worst review of Jordan. It got them killed a few times if he relied on the car. Yet he didn’t feel that.
I will not take Jordan seriously when he will talk about Lucid from Now on.
Lol
So a car that is 100K almost make you crash few times... This is very disappointing... Do they test their releases??!!
It has “Auto Lane Change?” But only when driver initiates? That is not auto lane change…
The constant off and on of the system and having to keep poking at it seems to be far more dangerous and distracting than not having it at all.
Jordan didn't want to admit that this system is trash.
The Volvo EX90 does not use its LIDAR, the Lucid does not use its LIDAR, so what is the point of LIDAR?
Marketing
Not sure about the Lucid, but the Volvo's lidar will be a later ota update. Not sure when. Volvo probably doesn't even know for sure.
Watching this video is nerve-racking, with erratic swerves at 21:48 and almost hitting a divider at 30:10. It also traveled slower than surrounding traffic, causing everyone to pass, and even tried to exit the freeway unexpectedly.
Tesla is difficult since there’s always a newer better version out there
Phantom braking is still a thing for cars on v12 which is a lot of cars. It’s gone in v13 from my experience with it so far.

Tesla already won on this front. No point in Lucid trying to compete here as they are a decade behind at this point
That thing looked scary!
Blink twice if Lucid is holding your cat hostage.

So happy I bought a comma 3x recently. It's night and day compared to other commercial ADAS systems, with the sole exception of Tesla FSD.
Well if the system doesn't function at all half of the time, then it doesn't have as many opportunities for catastrophic failures. Pretty clever!
Can’t keep up with a 2014 model s
This is a terrible look for Lucid. At this point, they should pull it and try to license Tesla's FSD.
Or Waymo which is better than FSD

I can't imagine Peter Rawlinson asking that from Musk. Also NACS took them a while to figure it out and they did it only because almost everyone else done it before them and they would be left behind.
So it has self driving lidar capabilities and pre mapped roads like super cruise? Sorry, a bit confused there in the beginning. Thanks all
I understand this is a stress test, but it falls short of expectations.
Kyle spending big bucks on the bots 😂😂😂
