Honda X-ADV - Sunday ride ends in disaster!

- First of all let me say that I’ve finally found an audio setup that works for me: I use my new Insta360 Go 2 for video and an old GoPro Hero 5 black, remotely controlled and inside the tank bag, just for the audio. I know a dedicated sound recorder would achieve better quality; but I saved money by repurposing a camera I was no longer using.
Secondly, I’d like to share that this nice ride ends in disaster: on my way back a 4x4 backs up without looking and hits the X-ADV hard. The damage is in the thousands.
Unfortunately I wasn’t filming at the time but, falling off from my helmet, the Go2 briefly turns on recording the few first seconds after the accident, as I’m laying on the tarmac, still in shock.
While the insurance will pay for the repairs in full, I’m in talks with the dealer to change to another bike.
Can anyone guess what I’m going for?

Nice sound but terrible riding. Stay on your side and keep on the outside of the curve as long as you dont see the curve straighten again. You are taking all the reaction time from you.
Terrible riding? My, that’s harsh, haha! Jokes aside, thanks for your comment, I’ll keep it in mind on the next ride!
@@alistairbox i dont want to be rude, dont take it personal. But riding like this will get you in a lot of dangerous situations. The guy in front was even worse and running wide in some corners. Try it and you will feel a lot better on unknown roads.

Hi Alistair, sorry to read about the accident hope you are well. I really enjoyed your films and watching X-ADV doing a nice job, so hope you are not going for Africa Twin. C'mon guys, everybody rides GS and Africa, lets try to be different! All the best to you, regardless of your choice.
First of all thanks for your thoughts: I'm not hurt in any way, thankfully I always wear full suit and body armor which protected me completely.
I'm pleased to read you've enjoyed watching my content, as I try to give something back to the UA-cam community.
In reference to my future choice, let me say this: I come from street bikes, which I have enjoyed, but I never new my true calling until I followed my instincts and moved to the adventure segment with the X-ADV. BEST CHOICE OF MY (riding) LIFE!
The X opened the doors to so much more: more roads, more freedom, more comfort, more practicality. Best bike I've ever had in my life, hands down.
What I have developed, however, is true love for off-road and a desire to push myself and my bike further.
While it remains impeccable on tarmac, I think that I've extracted from the X all it could give on dirt, to the point that I feel it is holding me back.
Your guess was as quick as it was accurate; I am in fact considering the 2022 Africa Twin.
While I'll be keeping the DCT because it is an amazing system, part of what made the X so great, I feel I will be upgrading on most other areas, especially when it comes to off road capabilities and ergonomics.
I'm however still thinking about it, because the comfort of seat and riding position on the X is unmatched in the market, no question.
The bike will be in the shop for weeks anyways, so I have some time to think about it and to consider the financial implications.

@@rockingrodders8551 Noise? NOISE?? My dear Sir you forget yourself!! 😆 No but seriously, you don't like it? I mean, surely there's sexier out there, but one could argue that even the mighty Ducati sounds like a bag of bolts at times... To my hears she's performing admirably on a stock exhaust; mind you, the Africa Twin, for example, a whole different beast of course, does sound immensely better!!
