    I enjoy the lessons with trainers as it's a learning experience for all and get more out of it when we hear what they say. That said, it's good to hear your thoughts and understand that trainers have a living to earn and might want to limit the amount of advice people hear for nothing. What I enjoy mostly is getting to see your progress. There will always be more to learn, but you have already come so far together and that's great to see.

    Hi Em, I have to say I enjoy hearing the instructor - I find it odd that Paul wasn’t happy with this (I think you UA-camrs must elevate their profiles and be an amazing opportunity to showcase their coaching far and wide!) but of course respect his decision. I love a voice over for a dressage test though 😊
    You rode her beautifully and she looked superb here. I think she must have been having an off day at Mary’s in terms of energy as I don’t think I’ve ever seen her so behind your leg (you did a super job regardless).
    In terms of training, I agree with others - Fred seemed great for you both, I love a Cam lesson too and that BE Howden way clinic was fab to watch 😊 Well done Em xx

      Their actual tips and advice are how they put food on the table. I don't blame them for not wanting it all out there.

    The thing about clinics and weekly lessons - if you can take ONE thing from a clinic lesson it has been successful and you took away a positive - weekly lessons with the same coach are more specific, you work on issues you work to improve issues lesson to lesson and stay consistent - finding a coach that compliments you and your horse may take time but find one and stick with them regardless - do what is right for you and your horse !

    Just finishing my glass of Bailey's, a tradition when I watch your vlogmases! It’s almost finished 😢 but I’ve loved all your videos, and of course following your adventures over the past year(s). The voiceover of your lesson was perfect; informative and clear. Don’t change your riding style too much though as you’re naturally a very elegant and quiet rider and you’re doing brilliantly with Addie. She’s gorgeous but not as easy as you make her look! 😉 x

    I always thought Fred was a great instructor for you Em. I know he's moved away. I do feel it is always good to build up a good understanding and relationship with the one instructor however it can be beneficial and knowledgeable when having lessons with other instructors 😊 You will know who the right instructor is for you and Addie ❤

    Another great opportunity for you. Have to say, I like to hear the instructions from the trainer though. Addy did look more relaxed than when you had the lesson with Mary. And Addy seemed by far more collected than the other horses. Well done. I'm sure you got a lot from this.

    fantastic as always but i have one tiny suggestion please :). You critiqued yourself as i do understand that is needed for progress and improvements but my tiny suggestion is for every critiqued area of your riding lesson that you have at least one good skill to praise for each skill that is critiqued! that way you do not get discouraged and down on yourself and end up with more unwholesome habits rather than wholesome habits that are beneficial for the long haul. other than that, you have done super fantastic :)

    You know I like your voice overs 😊 this one was more descriptive, learned some things, would love to share some things, have questions re gear changes and strength training?? I know only what I've learned on UA-cam about training young eventers 😊 TY Em, this was, for me, relaxed and informative 🥰🥰🥰 Merry Christmas!! ❤

    Just an observation, and I'm sure your body worker sees to this or has mentioned it, her neck is very tight to the left, she's always trying to lean and look left.

    I think it's better taking lessons from diferent instructors, because one helps you with this, another with that, like for example your body and sitting position, another tells you about your legs or feet, your arms....because all are diferent and are looking to diferent things.🥰🎄

    With all due respect I hate voice overs of lessons. I'd prefer to hear the trainer as it helps us too with our riding, plus it tells us what's being asked and we can just watch the lesson. Yh, it's not something I'd watch I'm afraid, I'd prefer u do what you've always done. My pet peave is music All the way thru instead of just parts of it and voice over all the way thru. Sorry 😅

      So you'd prefer to get the milk for free. These trainers have put years of work etc in and they shouldn't be expected to have their knowledge plastered all over the Internet.

  • @stanhendrickson739
    @stanhendrickson739 6 місяців тому +10

    This is not the trainer for you. There are trainers to just collect their money and just tell you what you should do what you should do but they're not holding the U2 it, you need someone is harder on you. They won't let you get away with your bad habits like falling out on the left shoulder with your horse, because you're not setting the horse up and keeping your leg on or you're pulling with your right reign. Pull and throw instead of keeping your hands together with the reins and using your leg. This is not the trainer for you

      I agree, I liked your lesson with Mary, if your gonna pay for a lesson you should get your moneys worth, Mary had you both working well together, can you go to her or is she to far away? She worked with both you and Addie, I just feel you will get more out of it, sorry don't mean to be a stick in the mud 😊

      I mean. I'd be curious to see a SECOND lesson. Sometimes the first lesson is more about an evaluation. Also without the audio it's hard to know what exactly he was looking at plus group vs solo lessons
