I listened to at least 100.000 different songs during the last 30+ years. This is one of my all time faves. Thanx to these guys for writing this. Hell...My kids will never know nor understand what i feel when i remember this time and this song.
Saw the Di'anno line up blow Priest off the stage at the Hammy Odeon - circa 1981 /2 I'd think. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. Never seen them with Bruce but glad I saw this line up. Ears still ringing now :-)
I like ALL Iron Maiden line-ups but my favorite was Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Clive Burr, Paul Di' Anno, and Dennis Straton Wish I could have seen them with that line-up, but I was born in 1995, so my probabilities of seeing a show in 1980 were really low haha
I totally love this song and the band. This is so amazing, one of the first recorded videos with Iron Maiden. Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Clive Burr, Paul Di Anno, and Dennis Stratton are all geniuses. This is the best band ever, they have had so many great member, guitarists as well as singers and drummers. They are way above 50 years old and still rock the pants out of every band out there. Stop arguing about who´s best out of Paul and Bruce, both are so damn good.
@NisseEricsson I agree with you about Paul and Bruce both being great singers. They each have a style all thier own. In the early days, Maiden in my opinion was based more on real life situations and the music was more raw. When Bruce joined they started to explore more otherworldly themes. Both singers are great. Some of my favorite songs are on the 1st 2 albums.
@TheCozybear65 i'm from Canada, and as much as i love the first 2 maiden albums (i've listened to those 2 more than any others in the past 30 years, much more), you are the first person i have ever actually heard say they heard of maiden before number of the beast. so either you must be from england, or you're a mad old school metal fan from way back. and likely older than me! i'm 42... cheers brother.
DAMN! Dave Murray was a fuckin' headbanger back in the early days! YEAH! and they still have the same exciting energy now as they did then. IRON MAIDEN FOREVER! UP THE FUCKIN' IRONS!
@TheCozybear65 nice channel. i just subscribed to you. not something i often do. but dyed in the wool metalheads are a rare commodity these days... speak soon. i can't believe how fortunate you've been to see so many bands. randy and ozzy must've been a trip. i was in grade seven when that circus rolled into town, and my ma said 'hell, no...'
Hahahah I AGREE!! Not many where I am from do though!!! The first two albums where out before I was born, but yet when I heard them in the mid 90's they had and have the most impact on me to this day, different style from the rest and for me better. Not a massive fan of the next three albums but Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son are great also.
the truth of the matter is, without Bruce Dickenson, nobody outside of east London England would have heard of this band. we all bought Number of the Beast in 1982 when we were 13 years old, and while waiting for Piece of Mind, we went looking for anything and everything with the red and white Iron Maiden logo on it. which led us to buy the first 2 albums, and to discover the amazing Paul Dianno. without Number of the Beast making Maiden international supertstars, i would have never heard him.
@1217rcc -- Looks like one of the home vids recorded at the Ruskin Arms in the East End. Don't think it's the Marquee or The Bandwagon, but I could be wrong. Cheers=bloozblasterX=
@09terrafirma Bruce might have a better and more trained voice, but Di'Anno's singing style is undefeatable.. that punkish way of singing fit perfectly with Maiden's music at the time. They had to change their music style in order to fit Dickinson's. Don't get me wrong, I like the powerful voice Bruce has, but man, Di'Anno's voice was something else!
If only Steve would release more rare early stuff. Bremen is one. Wonder what else he has. Can the latest Bruce whiny stuff and give us more early concerts, Harris!
The time that Di'anno spent in maiden doesn't matter, his voice, and the musics in his time is much better than Dickinson's. You don't know anything about vocals.
i agree man people keep bitchin which one is better but, their both badass!! they sound different from each other but their both special in their own way!! paul kicks ass!! and so does dickinson!! UP THE IRONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree that bruce is a lot better but Paul fit in for what the first 2 albums represented. Paul was more of a punk front man and I do like him singing the early stuff too. Iron Maiden fan till the day I die
well fuck i cut and paste the first message and put it on the wrong video, the message should be for the video with the 2011 remix version from dianno..
why does everyone in here think bruce shouldn't be with maiden right now?ever heard of number of the beast?powerslave?aches high?fear of the fucking dark?seventh son of the seventh son? and so many other maiden songs that were successfull as fucking fuck!! wtf ppl ok, dianno was awesome with maiden, and have so many fucking good songs but hell just look at iron maiden now and what they have accomplished, they wouldnt have done that without bruce!
@younghatter yes,but maiden is less metal now.Sorry,Paul's voice, was made of raw power, soul and passion...and if that's not metal i don't know what is! Go Paul!
Iron maiden 1980 album do caralho excelente fantástico só músicas foda
personally i think the first two albums r the best
I agree so does my 17yr old daughter.
Great Paul shows the Italian artistic talent!😆👍
I listened to at least 100.000 different songs during the last 30+ years. This is one of my all time faves. Thanx to these guys for writing this. Hell...My kids will never know nor understand what i feel when i remember this time and this song.
Love him or hate him, DiAnno will always be their original singer.
Paul is the best!
Saw the Di'anno line up blow Priest off the stage at the Hammy Odeon - circa 1981 /2 I'd think. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. Never seen them with Bruce but glad I saw this line up. Ears still ringing now :-)

i saw Paul Di anno at this club called El corazon in washington about a year or so ago, this song made everyone just explode it was amazing!
the real iron maiden, paul di'anno rocks'
This is the real Maiden!!!!
Bruce is also running free, also able to hold a sword. The real Iron Maiden is whatever Steve dictates, Im fine with that.

Old Maiden can’t be beat! 🤘🤘
PAUL ES ESMEJOR VOCAL DE IRON MAIDEN,

gotta love how the club has ONE spotlight shining on the stage!
That harmonized lead at 2:28 gives me goosebumps every time!
Up the Irons from Boston \m/
Clive Burr ROCKS
wish i could have seen this lineup live...
RIP CLIVE BURR ! THE BEST DRUMER OF MAIDEN ! NICKO ? WHAT THIS........
Where is this video live recorded
DAMN! Dave Murray was a fuckin' headbanger back in the early days! YEAH! and they still have the same exciting energy now as they did then. IRON MAIDEN FOREVER! UP THE FUCKIN' IRONS!
D'iano years is the IRON MAIDEN.
I don't care about who is better between Bruce and Paul, I think that both are amazing, that's all.
Was this shot at the Ruskin Arms?
were di u get all these vids of iron maiden
funny you mentioned that song, i'm currently listening to it right now!
@TheCozybear65 nice channel. i just subscribed to you. not something i often do. but dyed in the wool metalheads are a rare commodity these days... speak soon. i can't believe how fortunate you've been to see so many bands. randy and ozzy must've been a trip. i was in grade seven when that circus rolled into town, and my ma said 'hell, no...'

couldnt have said it better
Thx, mate, for 3.30, I was 15 again!!

me too i have both cds and they rock
iron maiden hasta la muerte!!!!
fake you
This is music history. Too bad Clive, Dennis and Paul couldn´t make it in Maiden longer, they were all great.
The very definition of puting soul into music! (Bruce, take notes!)
The first two Maiden albums are my very favorite metal albums of all time (except for Charlot!)
Solid!!!
Dickinson is straight classicly trained homes, Imagine a crazy duo bra!
Its from one of their dvds. "The Early days Pt. 1". Im still waiting for Pt 2 to come out X) bought it 3 years ago (I think)
@1217rcc -- Looks like one of the home vids recorded at the Ruskin Arms in the East End. Don't think it's the Marquee or The Bandwagon, but I could be wrong. Cheers=bloozblasterX=

derSilberMeister I agree
Paul sounds like Lemmy here. Maiden was definitely showing their punk influence in the first two albums.
Iron maiden is iron maiden, it consists of five (or six depending on when) members and they all contribute to it, not just a single member.
🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇
haa haaaa, I totally agree and that is the funniest I've ever heard it put.
dianno was awesome in battlezone,i wish there was footage of their stuff on here
Exactly.
Di' Anno is so fucking sick!!!
why damn heavy and speed?
@grasdubids I think you meant to say more of a punk singer, despite Maiden being metal; they had a more punk like influence when they started.
i have said it again.clive is one of my favourite drummers.but unfortunately he is suffering from MS and cannot drum anymore......
If only Steve would release more rare early stuff. Bremen is one. Wonder what else he has. Can the latest Bruce whiny stuff and give us more early concerts, Harris!
man i thought I never say this but I agree
so long Clive Burr...
they don't play this song anymore as I know Bruce said in Ullevi that it could be the last time they play that songs live
I THINK THAT MAIDEN SHOULD DO AN "OLD SCHOOL" TOUR WITH DI ANNO AND STRATTON...
the real iron maiden.
@RJJowl I totally agree.
puta madre daría lo que fuera por ir a ese concierto eso si era iron maiden ya hoy no vale la pena ir.
The time that Di'anno spent in maiden doesn't matter, his voice, and the musics in his time is much better than Dickinson's.
You don't know anything about vocals.
yes 100% and maiden in japan ;-)
cool, I was going to ask who that was.
LOOL what a joke,do you actually listen his songs? He's the guy who pust most of his soul into that, especially live
Dennis doing backing vocals too isn't it?
Dianno and
Clive Burr
is Maiden
They hated each other !!!
@bigedz80 Can't argue with that, it's true:)
@rockadio8710 He probably was. Read his book "The Beast". Very interesting.
i agree man people keep bitchin which one is better but, their both badass!! they sound different from each other but their both special in their own way!! paul kicks ass!! and so does dickinson!! UP THE IRONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
....it's true, but now he sound's like metal-core.....
i was on his concert in zagreb........too bad!!

Bruce Dickinson is a great singer! But come on Paul di'anno is the best!
Iron Fucking Maiden
and CLIVE?
why does everyone in here think bruce shouldn't be with maiden right now?ever heard of number of the beast?powerslave?aches high?fear of the fucking dark?seventh son of the seventh son? and so many other maiden songs that were successfull as fucking fuck!! wtf ppl ok, dianno was awesome with maiden, and have so many fucking good songs but hell just look at iron maiden now and what they have accomplished, they wouldnt have done that without bruce!
i prefer this line up coz you can relate to it.with dickinson its a bit over the top to relate to.still fuckin brilliant tho
Favorite band ever (sorry black sabbath!!!!) wether its with bruce or paul
@younghatter yes,but maiden is less metal now.Sorry,Paul's voice, was made of raw power, soul and passion...and if that's not metal i don't know what is!
Go Paul!
Outfrikkinstanding!
Fuckin punk rock
hes dennis stratton
@09terrafirma awww u mad brah?
Well, he was fired for use of cocaine, from what I've heard
yeah it was because he did drugs but the main reason was because he didnt have stage presence and bruce did
