most perfect video i have been wanting to see for the longest time on meridians. Now i can visualize the curves on the lenses that were once so mysterious. BIG thank you
Not sure if you're still monitoring this video. Fascinating concept! Just want to make sure about something related to the prescription. When you say -6 -3 x 45 on the prescription, does it mean -6 is the sphere, -3 is the cylinder and 45 is the axis? Anyone who knows about this can reply. Thanks.
Cylinder and axis are a complex topic. He mentioned a word "transposition". in simple words it means writing the same numbers in different way. like UK english and US english.... e.g number he used in this video -6 / -3 at 45° can also be written as -9/+3 at 135°..... as for your question precisely we need to know exact readings before we can comment.
awesome video. I have a very high prescription at +9.5 and my glasses lens give a lot of distortion when I move my head around. I'm wondering if this could be solved with a perfectly round lens like the one he is modeling. Does anyone know?
Curios, what would the math look like if a person needs only astigmatism correction and not near/far sighted correction? Would it make sphere component 0 and only cylinder component filled in with some value and how does such a lens look like in practice?

6:33 - There are only two numbers on prescription, the Cylinder and the Axis. So why three numbers here, -6.00, -3.00, x45?
the most comprehensive and easiest explanation I've ever come by.. nicely done !
Your videos are awesome and the way you explain things are sooo clear and easy to understand thank you so much for the content you put up on UA-cam.

Is it possible to have a change in axis in one year from 100 OD to 20 OD?
Did you ever find out? Because I think the doctor messed up my prescription
