Thank you much appreciated!
Congrats
Thanks man!🙏
I'm medical best thing for back pain is big fish pulls :)
Lol I wish that was the truth, it’s definitely the exact opposite 😂
Big Phenix fan here! I’m stoked you’re now apart of the Phenix fam. Take care of that back and watch out throwing with 10 footers... they’re super hard on ya. Keep up the good work!
Thanks brotha! Stoked!
Thanks for looking out man. Still going to physical therapy 3 times a week to get me back up to health. Should be all good again by the time the season picks up.
luck I wish I can join the phenix fam
Not a huge fan of Phenix, but proud of you Ray! Huge accomplishment.
I’ve been fishing the California rods for a long time which are phenix blanks and I have no complaints. Thanks brotha! Stoked!
Any reason?
@@drewdavies1872 ive had multiple phenix rods break from factory. So far ive had 3 black diamond rods break just in casting a 3oz jig. Then, phenix refused to replace the rod saying I high sticked it. How could I high stick the rod if I was casting a jig? Also, had multiple blanks break on static testing. And again, refused to replace them. The material is brittle and unstable in certain blanks, so for now im just going to avoid it until they can assure me that their quality is better.
@@hectorscustomrods2606 thanks for the heads up, try any fresh water set ups? Or just offshore set ups?
@@drewdavies1872 I never bought freshwater stuff. My buddy has had 3 trout rods break though. Now he stopped using them .
Your vids rock please get better my friend
Thank you, very much appreciated!
Doing a lot better now that it’s been acouple years since this video. Still have my good days and bad days with back pains, but over all a lot better! Thank you for you’re concern
Just picked up a Phenix Black Diamond Hybrid for my upcoming 2.5 day out of Seaforth to go with a new Talica 12II. Stoked to see how it does! Great videos!
Thank you! And hell yeah good luck out there. Hope you get on them. There’s some big bluefin getting pulled in lately!
Hell yeah bro! I miss my phenix 1007 10ft rd.
Thanks man! I’m excited to test it out!
CONGRATULATIONS Big Dawg! Well deserved! We fam now! #topdraftpicks
Thanks brotha! When I saw your name on the email list of approved I was pumped! Gotta get some collabs in soon.
Congratulations! I’m a fairly new Phenix rod user and I love them!
Thank you! And yeah definitely some great rods for sure. The Phenix M1 Inshore was the first nice rod I ever bought when getting into salt water fishing, so I really hold some sentimental value with phenix for sure
Phenix rods are awesome. Have 2 k2s, a mirage, and a black diamond hybrid my friend built and a titan slow pitch 20-60gram
Nice! I still need to get my hands on a slow pitch rod and try one out
Hey man love your channel. I’m a NorCal deckhand and I wanna get into the yellow trips down there. I have a 20 to 40 780mh axis I can use for flyline.. what else do I need? It has a tourium 16 on it
That’ll be perfect for fly line fishing. I actually have a yellowtail arsenal video and a tackle bag video. I’ll link both of them rn for you!

Congrats! I’ve gone all Penn reels and Phenix rods. Love that combo
Thank you! Great pair ups for sure
Congratulations brother!!!
Thank you! Very much appreciated!
Congratulations! Phenix rods are my personal favorite rod and I personally own 10 of their rods and I wouldn’t use another brand of rod for my saltwater fishing. Paired with shimano reels you can’t go wrong.
Thank you! Yeah they’re really nice. Definitely can’t go wrong with shimano or Daiwa reels
Congratulations!!!
Thanks man! Stoked!
Hard work pays off. Congratulations, look forward to sharing the rail with you again soon. Tight lines
Hell yeah! Thanks brotha!
Congratulations! Awesome you can be part of such a great company. Phoenix made a great choice!

The m1 is a sweet rod
Hell yeah it is. The m1 inshore has been one of my favorite rods for a long time
Congrats love watching your videos keep up the good work and heal soon. Now you made me want to get a new phenix before my next trip on the 6th.
Thanks brotha, I’m stoked!
Lol the collection of rods never seems to stop growing
Congrats on getting the recognition to be selected onto the Phenix Rods Team. Best of luck!
Thank you! Really appreciate that. Happy to be apart of the team
What’s that rail rod in the Thumbnail?
Axis rail rod 60-130 lb
@@Dirty.Hookers assuming that’s paired with your Talica 25?
@@sanddabs159 yessir!
@@Dirty.Hookers that seems like a dope combo, what length trips do you bring it on? Do you even bother with it on overnights?
@@sanddabs159 I bring it every time I think there’s a chance at bluefin 100+ lbs.
Still hasn’t seen a fish yet. But it’s always good to have it just to be safe
Damn that’s awesome, big congrats 🎊
Thanks brotha! So pumped!
congrqts Ray.
look into the black diamond for white seabass an for coltsnipers and stickbaits.
Almost got the black diamond. Maybe next time.
Congrats Man!!! Stoked for ya!!
Thanks bro! So pumped!
F*** yeah man!!! Good shit!! You deserve it bro. Now I really can't wait to see the content for this season lol. Maybe this year I get to fish with you. Cheeehoooo😆🤙
Thanks so much! Hopefully this will help me to learn to do a little more talking during my videos from here on.
Hopefully we’ll run into eachother on the water this season!
Dude super sick. GOOD ISH! BIG PHENIX HEAD HERE !
Hell yeah thanks man!
axis series pulls some big fish, hope to see you out on the water this year!
Oh yeah, hoping to break my triple digit on one!
And hell yeah man, hopefully we can share the rail sometime this year
How’s the rod on the Phenix M1 ML 6’9 rod? Is it too flimsy? What’s it good for? I haven’t been able to find much online at all about the rod.
I haven’t felt out the 6’9”, so I don’t have personal experience with that model unfortunately.
I’ve been fishing the 7’9” heavy for years though and love it! And over the last 2 seasons been fishing the 8’2” MH which I’ve really fallen inlove with
@@Dirty.Hookers Thanks bud!
@@b.l4365 anytime!
So proud of you brother. Yea i have the ul elixir an wanna get the iron feather an maybe later the dragon fly. Wish i had a hat tho man. If you have any used one or a 3x or 4x old shirt. Maybe u guys cant sell. Id love to rock it an represent for phenix. Cuz hands down there the best
Thanks a lot man! This is the first phenix apparel anything I have so unfortunately I don’t have any old stuff to get rid of.
The manager said they’ll be restocking all of their clothing in about a month, so keep an eye out and hopefully you can get some new swag soon
Congrats bro phenix is part of my arsenal , shimano is the other one love them
Thanks man! Shimano is always a must have in the arsenal. Phenomenal reels
Congrats brotha! You deserve it!
Thanks man. That means a lot!
Niiiice man congrats!!!
Thanks man! Stoked
Good to see you again bro!👍
Thanks man. I can’t wait to be back! Was hoping to come back last week, but my dr wants to see a little bit more improvement
Congrats Ray! You deserve it bro💪🏽
Thanks Tim! Really appreciate that. 🍻
Nice!!
Thanks bro!
Congrats dude!
Thanks! Super stoked!
10 ft rod is no good on your back since you mention you have back issues
Been making a good recovery so far.
Got to test it out recently, and it did cause some soreness to my back, but as soon as I felt any kind of stress on my back, I used the rail to my advantage and it brought a lot of relief
Congrats brother 👍
Thanks man! So pumped!
Nice work man!
Thanks! Stoked!
Grats bro. I'm personally getting away from my phenix black diamonds. Only because I fell in love with uc rods.
Ask for some prototype composite rods to be able to throw the iron. Had a X2H that I got wrapped up to throw iron with this year. Got stolen from the back of my truck while pumping gas 😣😭. Only got to use it once at the pier.
Hope to meet you one of these days down here in SD. I'm getting on the mission Belle and point Loma more this year.
Thanks bro! And damn I’m really sorry to hear that. Fricken kills me to hear about people’s things getting stolen!
I’ll be fishing a lot with Offswitch charters this year. If you have insta or Facebook you should check out his page and try to hop on with us on one of the trips
@@Dirty.Hookers what landing are they based out of? Can't find them.
@@otroflores91 it’s not a boat. It’s a charter group. The group I fish with a lot on the Pride
@@otroflores91 first 55 seconds of this video explains it.

Wow, congrats bro
Thanks man! Really extra out this
Hey ray, by the way it’s me david from the Fred hall show. I hope you remember me. Anyways, I hope your injury is getting better if not I’m praying for it to because your vids are fire!
Thank you so much David that means a lot! Getting better and hopefully will be pushing out more content for everyone soon
Would like some stickers ,sucks that there's no fred hall show
Right! Fred hall is always when I load up on all of my stickers!
Did you met Mr.Know it all “Cesar” at Phenix ? Sorry......🤣
Congrats bro!! Hey amma get a penn fathon 400LP reel, with 40lb braid and 40lb mono topshot or 30lb. What line rating rod do you recommend for yellows or school size tuna? Thanks!!
Either a 20-50lb rod or a 20-40 lb if you like a little more give
What was the heavier set up? Wasn’t their 5 rods on the picture?
Black diamond hybrid rail rod paired with a talica 25. Didn’t end up talking about that one? Because it was a set up I already had
Nice. Good luck on your Cedros trip 🙌
Nice looking to try a Phenix DH mod have you tried one and what do you recommend ......................
What kind of rod are you looking to use it for? Yellows, schoolie tuna, bluefin, freshwater bass?
Just need a ballpark to start with so I know what I can recommend for you
@@Dirty.Hookers Yellows and tuna was thinking about a 8 ft heavy and use my 40 Penn 2 speed
I mostly fish out of Port San Luis but I have been going more South lately. I have never fished for yellows or Tuna mostly bottom Lings and Rock but I am going to book a trip out of San Diego and see if I can learn some new tricks. I appreciate you taking the time to help me out.
@@mikehelton6259 if you’re looking for a heavy 8ft rod, I’d either go with an Axis or Black diamond.
Been putting both to use hard so far this season, and I’m very happy with the outcome
@@mikehelton6259 happy to help brotha! If you go for yellowfin during the summer, a MH rod would be more ideal. Like a 15-40 lb stick. If you’re going for bft, then the 8ft H is What you’ll want
Sweet
Thanks!
What reels are you going to put on those fire rods/blanks?
Axis - probably a shimano torium 16.
M1 inshore - komodo 300
M1 nanotube - tranx 200
MBX - BG 2500 or Sedona 2500
Hey ray how you doin after COVID
Been doing okay through the whole pandemic. Only thing that’s been holding me back at all has been my recent back injury. Starting to heal up a bit better though.
Thanks for asking! Hope all is well on your end too
@@Dirty.Hookers yeah I’m good just got done with fishing with my boys Owen you know him right
@@chrislorelli8267 Owen Synovec?
@@Dirty.Hookers yes
@@chrislorelli8267 yeah I know owen. Right on man. Did you guys catch anything

drop the music it starts to get annoying repeating in the background
Sorry to annoy you. Thanks for the heads up
There reputation has been tarnished lately hopefully you got some good news and reviews for us. Sponsorship or not hope you keep it 💯
You know I will. I refuse to stand by something if I don’t believe in it. Only gonna fish and recommend the rods or any gear for that matter that I personally grow to love!
