- First off, I'd like to sincerely apologize for the audio glitches that occurred sometimes.
I had no idea until I was almost done the video. I think my mic is messed up.
You didn't miss too much, but I understand those parts of the video will be annoying.
I'm very sorry.
Secondly, a couple corrections I'd like to make:
I forgot to mention during the healing section that there is a second consumable that can help with healing.
The "Scripture of Euphoria" grants you health from a successful parry, not just one using the healing riposte.
And, turns out there is an instinct for the Martyrs Blade that heals you for using it's AOE ground slam super.
I somehow never found this while playing with the weapon lmao
And a correction about Lutes:
If you only play a lute that has multiple uses a couple times, and stop before it breaks, the uses on the lute refill once that run ends so that you can use it again the next run without it breaking.
There's definitely a chance I missed even more, so please correct me in the comments section.
And also please feel free to ask questions or ask for more help.
I'll respond as soon as possible, and to the best of my ability.

Really glad you know about the “parry with no resolve to get a resolve”
Because for the longest time I had no clue you could parry with no resolve because the timing is harder with no resolve for some reason. Not many people know about that.

Fellow Martyr's Blade lover. I feel your pain. I think the Axetana makes this mode infinitely easier. Both Axe and Katana modes are deadly (running R2 is just silly)

All the weapons are definitely still viable, but you must be much more careful with the Smoldering Mace, or the Martyrs Blade
Let's hope us big sword users get some more love in Elden Ring

This guide helped a lot, I was just playing on Solomon to complete some early challenges and I ended up pulling the leeching chisel twice and made it all the way to the seat of infinity before I got boned by an archer who somehow didn’t get frozen when I got ejected. It was just a run that I was collecting materials and happened to pull a token and I hardly even had many blue of purple instincts. Your guide helped a bunch with running through the different areas to grab the different drops.
A great guide. I finished my first cycle with Hadern and Mace, 2nd cycle with Eredrim and Hammer&Chisel. Both cycles were in base shade and quite easy, once the base damage instincts started stacking.

I dont find the runs too hard either, but with so many people struggling I wanted to give people a better chance at getting started since reviews have been mixed
Got this on game pass just last week, and very rarely does a game impress me enough to purchase after playing it through...and DLC is an absolute no-go, for me ( don't get me started or I'll be dragging my soap box out. lol ).
But, I have to say after thoroughly enjoying this game it is this video that fold me ppb the additional content.

Still haven’t completed my first run yet but holy cow you have a lot of good tips in this. That Harros tip with the 10k tar is freaking galaxy brain. Would’ve never knew that cause I play a lot of Solomon with mace or straight sword. But yea, it is mainly about hoarding as much as you can and spend your earnings on your upgrades. I see why ppl get into rogue things in video games, it’s very rewarding but man, my recent run was going soo well but died trying to parry a little dickling to get sum health. It’s def not for the faint of heart.
Yeah it can be incredibly brutal, but very satisfying!

I die a lot to failing parries when I'm low on health too 💀
I always crack under the pressure even if it's a parry I know the timing for 😂
I die to attempting to parry all the fucking time I don’t even bother most times, I just harden mid attack and pray I get a double hit

WELL DONE. GREAT VIDEO. Thanks again for your difficult effort. You explain everything. I had no idea about lutes. I reached yesterday final bosses and guess, game bugged just before the very last boss. Running attacks with dual katanas all the way. Keep doing great work

Would also like to mention
Harros is best suited for the "run past everything" because him and Hadern are the fastest shells in the game, sprint speed wise. (idk about locked on strafe and jogging speed). As Tiel or whoever might be snagged by a Strudymen (halberd brigand) dash attacks, not Harros. He BOLTS, also my favorite shell along with Hadern
The ability that causes explosions on light attacks with the Smoldering Mace is basically instant victory, even on low rarity. Upon triggering, the attack basically does 10x damage, staggers and hits all nearby enemies.

Great video. I found a really chessy cheese. When you find a damage instinct pillar, take it and close game. Restart game, and go back to pillar, it will be another damage +1. I upgraded to Damage +20....makes your shell godly....also great for doing the Dark Form Obsidian cycle.

Another tip for making the game way easier is get the shader for eradrim by killing 5 grisha with him, it gives you +20 damage every run and lets you shred everything
Another point on the lutes, sorry if the video covers this point, as long as it doesn't break, the uses refill. So, the Simple Lute, if only played twice during the run a single run, it will have all 3 uses available for the next run. It's basically 2 full heals for every run if you're a sloppy player like me.

Mr. Anxiety TBF, I don't know if it's a bug or a feature, but, as of this version of the game, it's a run-saver for sure.
I’ve dried to glitches 3 times now. I either can attack, or I can’t harden after using the axetana R2L2 ability. Unfortunate but this update is still so fun.

There IS actually poise damage it is just a range instead of a set value. And no, you dont stagger enemies the more you hit them, heavier weapons absolutely stagger enemies more. Try the axekatana's light attack on the sisters in the third temple compared to say the axe itself.

This may be a dumb question, but are the only differences in the shells the HP, Stamina and resolve bars? I understand none of the upgrades from main game transfer over but are there any differences of note?
The shells have different shades (skins) that give stat bonuses once you unlock them.
But besides that, yes the only differences between them are the Stamina, Health, and Resolve differences of each shell.

My Favorite Shell for both the DLC and main game is Hadern, the new one!
But, it really comes down to play style and what you have fun with.
You should use what suits you!
Currently in my first run. I went to the Shrine of Ash but I’ve gotten the gland, killed all enemies and looted all items but never received a token to return back to Sanctum of Flame so I’m stuck. Hopefully I can at least throw myself off of somewhere to die so that I can continue playing the DLC
When you get the Gland there should be a pillar that spawns behind you that gives you the next key for the next location.
How doed checkpoints and saving work on the Virtuous Cycle? I remember I got into the Ash place and then left the game, when I started the game again next day I was back into the swamp area even tho the game said "there is no going back" when I entered the Ash place. Is there something like the sester statues in the main game that I can interact to save my progress in the DLC?
The DLC is a Rouge-like.
Or a Rouge "lite" to be specific.
These are genres of games where when you die, and sometimes even when you quit, you lose *all* your progress.
Now, luckily like I said the DLC is not a true Rouge-like, so, you retain some things to carry over from cycle to cycle.
You can buy permanent upgrades from the gate next to your sister in the hub.
As well as the challenges you'll find in your inventory tabs.
But, aside from these upgrades, no progress is saved between runs.
You must restart each time.
I assure you it's not as hard as it sounds, and in this video guide I go over ways to make it easier on yourself.
But, end of the day Rouge-like mechanics aren't for everyone.
So if you aren't okay with restarting and grinding slow progress, you may not enjoy yourself.
@@CrapcomLover Just figured out. You can quit the game mid-run as long and you reach the candly circle(or the sester not sure which one yet) and when you come back you'll start from that point. Just did the test. Killed all the enemies from the ice level, reached the candle circle before drinking that thing to fight the boss, quit the game and when I came back I was there again right before the boss.

Yes you can checkpoint at temples, but if you *die* you have to reset.
My example of losing progress from quitting was for other Rouge-like games, my apologies.
I have done all 3 temples and now I only have the option to go to the 1st temple again, am I missing something?
If you buy the three lutes and keep them in your inventory do you get the three passive bonus? Also, if you use the simple lute, for example, once per run, do the uses reset in the next run?
As far as I'm aware, yes the uses do reset between runs.
And, you can only hold one lute at a time in your inventory.
The others will remain purchased, and you can go and pick them back up at any time in the hub.
But, you can only bring one into any given cycle, therefore only having one passive active.
What happens if you use Sister Genessa to go back to the reverie? I don’t want to ruin a run by trying. :D

dude i completed my first run by getting a purple "strong" harden (forget the name), where i was invincible for A LOT of time, the chance was 60%+ at some point. I basically walked the game off
never got the ash-token played about 6hrs never one-time. doubt i will ever beat this nice guide. loved the base game the DLC is okay nothing great in my view. but thanks

Do the chalice keys only spawn in the area the chalice is in? I've been everywhere in the Martyrs area and I just can not find it, really frustrating if I have to go elsewhere. Really frustrating if it is here and I can't see it either tbh lol
Yes the Chalice keys are only in the dungeon they relate to.
In fact, I don't think you can even leave if you wanted to.
There's probably a pillar somewhere you missed.

No sadly, the dlcs progression is seperate from the main game.
how do you get more health and stamina for no shell and have you done the no lifer trophy for the dlc yet
Yes I have
And, when you play as Foundling or Obsidian form, all Instincts you get will be Mortal Instincts, with a very high chance of being Health or Stamina. (No health if Obsidian form)
hey i was wondering if you knew where to find ven nocturnal in the cycle
In the area where the entrance to the Crypt of Martyrs is, there is a hole you can crawl through that's covered with tree branches
It's beside a bandit camp.
If you look up where he is in the main game (there's tons of videos) he's in the same place in the Virtuous Cycle
My game glitched in the middle of a boss fight and I couldn’t do anything after I died the statue told me to get good😭

Don't feel too discouraged, if you do it once, you can do it again!
I can say the axatana multi hit glitch is most likely patched, you do still occasionally land on the enemy's head but the slam only hits once and you fall to the ground shortly after, this is my own experience tho and I've only been playing the past few days so idk if anyone else still runs into this glitch
The game has not been patched since this glitch was discovered.
I just logged in a checked it myself, it still 100% works.
The biggest issue is most people don't understand you have to have the enemy already staggered to get it to work.
Like down on 1 knee.
Otherwise, it can be inconsistent.
You can do the super normally, then do it again and it works 99% of the time.
It does not work on smaller enemies.
It can 100% be done consistent you just have to play around with it for each boss.
Get the spacing right, and make sure they're either staggered, or stuck in another animation when you land on top of them.

Hello @mr.anxiety what are the seeds of infinity for once you clear a cycle ?
They are the key items you need to "beat" the DLC.
You give them to your twin sister after each cycle you complete, and unlock more of the story.
There are 7 total seeds, which means you must beat the cycle 7 times to fully complete the DLC.

So when you buy the dlc does it just appear in the game? Because I have a ng+2 game and an wondering if I can get the hadern skin and the axatana in it
The only requirement after buying the DLC is to gain all 4 of the weapons throughout the game, and therefore beat Hadern 4 times.
If you're on NG+2 I imagine you already have them, so Hadern should just appear in Fallgrim Tower if you purchase the DLC.

Eredrim skin butcher gives 20 dmg, with axatana powerup (+30% dmg with axe abilities) you literally kill all bosses with 1 powerful attack.
Where are Lava Roll examples?
If they take you out of your shell, how do you get back the second chance? If I talk to the girl, it just takes me out of the cycle.
You need to find the endless unborn instinct

No you can not.
As the Foundling, and any Foundling shades; including the Obsidian Dark Form, can only aquire Mortal Instinct stat upgrades like Stamina or Damage.
They can not aquire any weapon instincts.
@@CrapcomLover oh okay thanks I thought you were able to get at least one weapon instinct. I used the foundling and had the secret technique instinct for axatana.
@@EnemyChasr I believe you can start with one for your weapon, but in my experience these are *never* the healing instincts.
I've played over 60 runs and never gotten a healing instinct to start so either you can't, or I'm incredibly unlucky 😅

No, profession in The Virtuous Cycle is mostly seperate.

So my question is when you start the Rouge like runs do you still have all of the abilities you unlocked with any shell or not?
If you mean all the instincts from a previous run? No.
If you mean abilities from the main game, nothing transfers from the main game except familiarity on items.

See how much progress you have on it
You need to find an Instinct (perks in the pillers) with every Shell. (Harros, Solomon, Tiel, Eredrim)
Dude I have never heard someone cry so much that they think something is broken it a game the creator s made it that way for a reason don't use the axtsna if u think it's broken and stop crying
Not crying at all.
Warning people that the glitch I was using is dangerous as it can actually break your game and make you have to re-load, and, advising people of how if they want a really strong option they can just use the Axatana to steam roll things.
My observations come from a place of comparing the relative power of the weapon to the *other* weapons in the game, as well as the overall enemy/boss design, and it's QUITE clear it's the best weapon by a mile.
If that's what the devs intended, that's great!
But I have a right to explain to people *why* it's likely the best weapon.
And I'm QUITE sure that some things, like the falling axe weapon art, are in fact bugs that they never intended to be that strong lol.
That's literally the only reason I was so thorough to give information to newcomers. I have no problem if a weapon/mechanic stays broken in a single player game.
I promise you I probably like this game and weapon a lot more than *you* friend. :)
