Your delivery is far superior to any other instructor, you provide explanation rather than just "detail". You explain both what to do and how to do it. Thanks
I've been working on this for quite some time I'm watching your video just encourages how to keep that square. great video, thanks Eric. Been following you for some time and you got great teaching methods out there
Thank you for this! It was the reminder I needed of exactly what my first (only) instructor, John Geertsen Jr, taught me over a 20+ year span, before multiple joint surgeries knocked me off track. I recognized what you were demonsrating instantly, and will immediately go back to practicing this move that you so perfectly described (maybe better than John did?)
I wish this was taught to me first lesson when I started learning a couple years ago. If this part isn't right...everything else doesn't even matter! So critical!!
I always struggled with hitting the ball with compression. I have relied on my short game to keep me a single digit handicapper. I tried just to do the "half" swings on the course and found myself about a club longer. This is with the drill swing. Also, playing in the 40's I usually struggle with distance. (68 years old). Scored a 74 with 3 birdies to win the match. A key take away is accuracy to the target line. Thanks for your help.
Great video. I saw one of your old videos a couple weeks ago on this and it’s been a game changer for my irons. Do you also recommend this for driver (minus shaft lean)?
Thanks! for sure with driver....IF....you have the same issue of the club face being too open. NEED to twist it closed no matter what....the only question is HOW, WHEN and HOW MUCH.....Can do it anywhere really so long as you get it square by impact
Eric is the best out there. Hey Eric, what is the difference between Performance Golf and Eric Cogorno Golf? Sorry for the dumb question, just curious.
Thank you!! Lots of the same stuff man...obviously we have our own coaching programs and such but we work closely closely together to help as many golfers as possible!
What is your opinion on using a stronger grip vs bowing the wrist to close the club face? I feel this bowing prevents me from using my wrists during my release, and should be paired with body based release. Is that a fair assessment? I feel my swing is at a crossroads and need to decide which release to commit to.
Hey Michael! We'll do more on that for sure...I'm cool with either way. here's a video we did on my channel that explains the options: ua-cam.com/video/fCW9W_lGQtM/v-deo.html&pp=ygUVRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vICMxIHNraWxs -Eric
I've been working on this exact move to get more lead wrist flexion. The results are a baby draw, great compression, better launch angle, and more distance with less effort. It was shocking when I played a round recently and started flying greens by 10 yards right over the pin. 😂
Hey Russell! Great question---yes it does. Heres a video I did on my other channel that explains it more.....we'll do more on this channel on this in the future ua-cam.com/video/fCW9W_lGQtM/v-deo.html&pp=ygUVRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vICMxIHNraWxs
Eric I've been doing this for a acouole of weeks now. Ball striking is much improved. The only thing is my miss it about 15 to 20 yard pull but not a draw. The only thing I can think of is maybe I'm not turning though early enough or getting the left side out of the way. Do you have any insight that would help. If so it would be greatly appreciated thanks
Hey Keith! Yes! Likely your club path is still too much OUT to IN.... So I would do 2 things 1. Add a start line stick in front of you 3 yards in line with your target......make sure you start right of that 2. Put a stick OVER the ball from DTL and make sure you swing inside of it Ill like some videos to help: ua-cam.com/video/Uxw4BcB_RZM/v-deo.html&pp=ygUVRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGJyZWFrIDgw ua-cam.com/video/cyMv0ChVoj4/v-deo.html&pp=ygUVRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGJyZWFrIDgw ua-cam.com/video/7Q0Ddm914uA/v-deo.html
@PerformanceGolfZone those drill really helped. I have still have some work to do with , but I diffently have the draw now and the strike feels great. Thanks for the tips
Question Eric, I'm maintaining the 'twistaway' but about half way down I want to release the 'twistaway', is this a good feel or should it be a left hand 'knuckles to the ground rotation instead of releasing the twistaway?
Hey Steven! -Good question----depends on where you get the club face to when doing the twist away. If you close it enough.....early enough....then you can release it. If you still need more closing you need to KEEP twisting it (knuckles down) Base it on ball flight if you need more draw/less right shots keep twisting
Hey Kevin! For sure will do some lessons over time. Heres a few in the meantime from my other Channel with live lessons: ua-cam.com/video/ltgPQar7OUE/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/pGBrKrKEW2w/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/G-UYJG5bVu4/v-deo.html

Heck yea---love to hear that! Appreciate you letting us know!

This lesson reinforces a move I came up with myself. The little twist of the wrist helps pure my contact almost every time.
Love it!
Great lesson, many thanks 🙏
thanks Barry!

Very very nice. Thank you
Thanks Matt!
Eric just drops swing gold!!!

I believe you mean twisting the grip clockwise. Thx. Tom
Does it make a difference if you have a strong grip or should I go to a more neutral grip.

should I close the club face on the way down with my hands, kinds like knuckles to the ground?
Hey! If its not closed enough in the backswing then absolutely yes!!
@@PerformanceGolfZone thank you, I ˆll try it today on the course.

I'll answer myself, release hard but make sure In to Out to hit my push draw.
Hey Steven!
-Good question----depends on where you get the club face to when doing the twist away. If you close it enough.....early enough....then you can release it.
If you still need more closing you need to KEEP twisting it (knuckles down)
Base it on ball flight
if you need more draw/less right shots keep twisting
Eric u do that with ur wrists in the backswing and downswing ur in for a lot of wrist injuries
Lets hope not :)
Clever idea Eric. Augments your previous backswing lesson. Learn something from all your sessions. Be good Russ
Thanks Russ!
