I really love this series idea, I do all of my decorating out of buttercream and the books can only help so much. Can you do poinsettias for Christmas time? Thanks!
I love this series! Please keep them coming :) Question: How long can you buttercream flowers in the freezer? I'd like to prep them in advance but I'm not sure how long they can be stored frozen.
+Pamla Manazer You're too kind Pamla! You can get the icing recipe here - www.wilton.com/buttercream-icing/WLRECIP-41.html#q=buttercream%2Bicing&start=1
I am taking your piped flower class however I'd like to learn the technique for a blossomed classic rose-----not a button rose or the star-tip rose; a classic rose. Thanks!!!!!! :)
+Jody Mcdavid Hi, I have made them in whipped cream, just add powder sugar to it when you whip it so it gets a stiff consistency too. The rest is the same :)
So beautiful! I have a question, though. You stated the tips of the 'smile' point down (as in a frown), but looking at the shape of each petal, it seems it would be the opposite (the tips up as in a smile). Did you just say the wrong thing or am I hearing incorrectly? I can't see the tip that well to see how you're holding it. I've never made anything but drop flowers, so I'm really interested in learning how to do more, and the mums are perfect for this time of year.
+Lisa M. Altemose Sorry if that was confusing! Yes, Estef is correct. I meant that the curvy part should face down so that the tip opening looks like a smile. Hope that helps!
+June Richardson June, if you keep them tightly covered in the freezer, they could keep for a couple of weeks. After that, I would be concerned about freezer burn or picking up off flavors/odors.
Thank's a lot. I have another petition, I made a pair of baby shoes with the Wilton Rolled Fondat, but what a pity, about de clima it doesn't dry very well they distorted, it's winter. Have you a recipe to use for? I need to make another one. thank you.
+Araceli Pina Sure Araceli! That red is from the Autumn Color Right Color Palette. You can easily achieve it by mixing 2 cups of Wilton Buttercream Icing with 40 drops of Crimson Color Right Base Color. You can definitely cut that amount of icing and color in half if you need less. That's it - super easy!
+Wilton What about love-me-nots? and perhaps amaryllis and ranunculus and a hybird tea... and a , whoops. i think i am becoming a flowerologist. X3. NVM, Love you, Wilton! :D
