What I find weird is how in 2023, they fit both games on a small cab because both games back in the day ran windows xp computers, I wonder what raw thrills and arcade1up did to run the original programs in one

Good review Phil. You have Ridge Racer I was curious what the dimensions are on it vs the F an F, especially screen heights and steering wheel height. I'm going to dig to find out what this pcb is since no one is cracking the pcb cover to determine. THe pedals seem to be a sore spot and I heard buystuff store is working on a Thrustmaster swap out, my issue with that is I own that T-80 Wheel and Pedals and with their mount for the ALU, which the mount is great, the wheel and pedals were very disappointing in feel and function at least with coinopsx. That's why I am back looking for a dedicated driver cabinet and this one miught be it at a great price.
Hi Carl, both cabs are the same height 64-65” tall, but monitor is 2-3” higher on F&F versus RR, there is an extra piece in between monitor and marquee on RR, they eliminated it on F&F causing monitor to move up which is a lot more comfortable. If you install those pedal covers it really adds to the pedals they won’t feel cheap. They did a good job with both cabs, just a little better with this one. Deluxe are a step up :)

Im putting my 2 cabs together this weekend. Im going to use the wired link to my router. Some have given the link a bad review, but it's gotta have a strong wifi signal and use a good router to get the best results.
Sorry but the Ridge Racer cab is great, just for Ace Driver, and the games run at 60 fps on the Ridge Racer cab. This Fast and Furious is very nice looking, but imo it's not as good and technically impressive as Ridge Racer, just my opinion though
I agree Lau rent Ace Driver is the best game on RR cab, but it wasn’t enough for me so I added buystuff mod. I’m hoping for additional updates and more unlockable cars and tracks as I play more on F&F. Thank you for watching, I really appreciate it!
@@PDX7 I understand but it's not exactly the same approach: either you are a big fan of Namco's arcade racers like Rave Racer and Ace Driver, and in this case I don't see the point of modifying the original cab by removing the games to put the BSA mod instead; OR you're not that a fan of Namco's racers and in this case you use the cab to host emulators like BSA, Teknoparrot, Batocera, etc. I mean it's a completely different approach. But in terms of original content, the Ridge Racer is superior in my book.
I love the cabinet design, I just didn’t play a lot and really wanted Daytona even though it’s the Dreamcast version it might be the only way I can play it at home. I will miss that Rave Racer intro :) Luckily I recorded some of the clips before adding buy stuff.
@@PDX7 If Arcade1Up suceeds in selling their driving cabs and keep being strong in this market, I'm pretty sure they will release a Cruis'n USA cab and possibly a Daytona USA cab in the future ;-)
Seems like a lot of people are hating on this cabinet because it's not exact replicas of the original games. But it also seems like most of those people don't even own the cabinet. But from what I've seen the cabinet looks great and the game looks really fun it seems like those who actually do have the cabinet are really enjoying it. I don't know the more I'm seeing it the more I'm considering it haha. Nice job buddy.
Some videos are before the update and that makes a huge difference it was very hard to steer in was all over. Retro Lizard even said last night it’s a completely different game now. It’s great for a recreational player like me to just step on the gas and not worrying about breaking kinda like us playing X-Men we just check out when we’re playing just having fun. Wait for a sale :) this would be tough explaining to the misses lol

This is the closest to a “real” arcade experience to race with someone side by side! Just like going to Dave & Busters, if I had the room I’d get a second one :) I’m looking forward to seeing a video with all 4 too!
Just got this cause my wife hates Ridge Racer so i thought maybe this. I gotta say it is a blast to play. Which was my minimum hope. It's actually a commendable effort by Raw Thrills to get it to play as well as it does. The dumbing down of the game is on A1UP not supplying a proper pcb. But having said all that the wife likes it as do the kids. Save feature is huge for longevity. My biggest complaint is the lack of rumble. I don't even notice it. And she is a wobbly cab. I put a weight inside to keep it calm. So Szabos is ordered. Thinking led strip over the yellow molding tape. Make it Raw Thrills splashy. Audio is a standout. Shifter is great. Just wanted to come back to say yeah its all right. Not nearly a mess as made out so often. 7.8 out of 10. Man, if proper pcb was supplied it coulda been a 9.

They only thing I can tell you is besides an update from Arcade1up in the near future, check out 19kfox next video when he hard wired his 2 cabs together in the next day or so.

Hi, it’s like Tempest. Szabo’s arcade has a slip on replacement you can just snap over once you peel off F&F. You could get a Crusin made custom for around 60
Great review Phil, what I’ve noticed is no matter how often you upgrade your cars it always seems like the CPU matches your updates. I’ve placed 3rd in pretty much every race even after upgrades on the same tracks. I’ve bested my previous times by like 8 seconds and still it’s 90% between 3rd-5th. Of course it’s on normal difficulty, I did get 1st a few times but yeah I don’t think the upgrades really do much. I feel like camera 3 works best for better control of your car during gameplay. Awesome video buddy

Upgrades do help a little but not a huge difference. When you play the more advanced difficulty tracks and at higher difficulty that minor assist could be the difference in hitting the podium or not. Raw thrills like midway loves rubberbanding difficulty
Glad to see the speakers got an upgrade but like classic 1up they went backwards putting in the old crappy light box marquee. Game looks fun but im sure for anyone who wants to buy this because they loved the original will be disapointed with the noticable graphic downgrade and the lack of things like some of the tracks, cars and even the crowd in the beginning of the race gone. Biggest reason i'll never preorder a 1up is because they dont tell you anything about the cab when they reveal it. They show u a little highlight video and say go buy it. When they reveal them they should have 1 on and running and show u some live gameplay and answer a few general questions from the chat. I will say they're getting close to getting a perfect driver down if they just get rid of the light box and upgrade the pedals a bit we'd have a really nice product . 19k fox did a review on this and was pretty critical of it , he wasnt to Thrilled. I heard Fox wasn’t too thrilled, I’ll check out his video along with everyone else’s today. I was surprised to see the marquee from the last generations, I wonder if they needed to design this because of maximizing the height of this. Just like Ridge Racer it sits on the very top, I am happy that if I do change this it will take me a few minutes just sapping on a Szabo’s clip on. It adds up another $62, but the quality is totally worth it. I’m not big on preordering either, this is the one time it worked out for us by getting it a day or two before available online. Yes, Buystuff arcades will have a new racing gaming box for F&F coming soon. Similar mod for SW, RR and Outrun but updated games adds about 220 extra games.

I’ll probably do the same to F&F, but you don’t have to hammer the brake like RR it’s basically gas and steering very fun and casual racing game. Thank you for watching 👊
Great review. Watched a bunch of reviews including 19kfox. Im pretty disappointed with this cab. This is my favorite racing game in the arcade. I will wait till it drops in price. Hopefully they make more than 6000 units.
I was a little disappointed when I couldn’t connect right away, I was actually thinking am I going to have to return this? The steering was bad, update changed everything it’s such a better experience now. I’d expect retailers to be interested in this cab, we should see a ton of these for awhile. Right now, it seems like R&R is better than F&F cab... online connectability is serious and will cause customers to steer away from buying this cab! For me, I will wait for the sale to happen before buying two, and hopefully, there will be an update to resolve those issues! PD7, great review of the cab...

Thanks for a straight forward and negativity free review. Too many reviewers act as if these cabs have all cons and no pros. And they rant about issues like marquees, missing cars and paired down graphics. Why would this be a one to one graphic port when the real thing costs thousands. Im fine with paying 600 and getting a fun lightweight arcade port. So many people seem to not appreciate anything. I grew up with not much and now im able to own 20 Arcade1up cabinets. None of these are perfect but they also aren’t horrible products the way some reviewers and customers who never had the intention on buying these anyways. People as a whole just complain about everything. I understand fair criticism but only the best reviewers make balanced reviews without harping on one or two shortcomings and damning the entire cab because they’re dismissive this isn’t Daytona or Cruis’n.
Thank you Adam! We are truly fortunate to be able to own arcades from our childhood that bring back nostalgia for a price we can afford. These aren’t built to last forever, but neither are the actual arcades we remember they all will run into problems. This is by far my favorite racing cab yet and it brings new excitement to want to play in my arcade. There is for RR and Outrun, F&F is tricky because there’s no riser. The deluxe top and bottom slides in together when assembled. I suppose the bottom base would have to be cut down low enough to become a sit down and the front under coin door would need a bigger square size gap cut out for feet to go inside. It’s possible, have you seen Multicade Matt’s RR sit down video?
Not sure why people hate on ridge racer cab, every single game on ridge racer is better than the two half games on f and f. Namco's handling system is far superior and rivaling Daytona, Sega rally etc. Not sure why you even need a four way shifter for f and f? Just to shift at the start of every race?
I am terrible at RR, RR2 and Rave Racer so I decided to add mod for games like Daytona. I did really like Ace Driver it was my favorite game on cab, your right about the shifter only going to need it at the beginning unless you wipe out. Thank you for watching y tyndale! I really appreciate it 👊
@@PDX7I disagree about not needing the shifter for Ace Driver games. I am always changing gears speeding up and slowing down around corners on the harder tracks. I think you might get a slight speed increase using the shifter on all the games. I mainly use Automatic on Ridge Racer, Ridge Racer 2 and Rave Racer. (I have a few top 10 times on them for the leaderboards). Ace Driver games I can't do nearly as well. Ace Driver games are still cool but trying to get first place feels nearly impossible. I've done it a few times but not much.
@@PDX7 finally got the f&f cab put together and played it this weekend with some friends. I think it rocks and everyone who played it thought it was great also. What did you guys end up doing?
PD7 you’re a really nice guy so I hope you don’t take my constructive criticisms the wrong way. My only suggestion is that you need to bring something to the table other than a sorta general showcase of the product. I can’t put my finger at the moment on what you can do but try and cover something on the cab others haven’t or put some like production into it. I hope that doesn’t come off as a dbag I want to see your content improve. Just from watching all the reviews I found yours to be sorta without passion. I felt like if I were to just say “Great review” just cause you’re a nice guy wouldn’t be genuine or helpful. Hope this helps

Come on! Crusin Blast even on the Switch is FAR better than this. Have you actually played the F&F arcade game in an arcade or via Teknoparrot? This is the first time A1Up has released a non actual arcade game. Blitz ported well and they were forced to change some things, so will still dub F&F their first fake. Still like your vids though, none the less.
Rush I’m just saying this is the closest thing so far from A1up to Cruisin, I know it’s half of the actual F&F and more of a Drift but it’s great for a recreational player like myself who just likes the step on the pedal and steer :) I’m sure Cruisin Blast looks a lot better on switch, hopefully things keep improving and we get better and better arcades from AtGames, iircade and A1up because we will all benefit from that. Ridge racer is pretty boring , very basic. This looks more exciting . Lot of people complaining about the washed out graphics . Since when did graphics ever make a game fun ? Did we like nes games back in the day because of the stellar graphics . Well hopefully most people hate this so it goes on sale for 200 .

i bought 2 and love them. only issue is 2nd cab is synced to cab one but cab 1 always desyncs. i got amazing internet 1000up and down? any fix?

Great review Phil, what I’ve noticed is no matter how often you upgrade your cars it always seems like the CPU matches your updates. I’ve placed 3rd in pretty much every race even after upgrades on the same tracks. I’ve bested my previous times by like 8 seconds and still it’s 90% between 3rd-5th. Of course it’s on normal difficulty, I did get 1st a few times but yeah I don’t think the upgrades really do much. I feel like camera 3 works best for better control of your car during gameplay. Upgrades do help a little but not a huge difference. When you play the more advanced difficulty tracks and at higher difficulty that minor assist could be the difference in hitting the podium or not. Raw thrills like midway loves rubberbanding difficulty

Glad to see the speakers got an upgrade but like classic 1up they went backwards putting in the old crappy light box marquee. Game looks fun but im sure for anyone who wants to buy this because they loved the original will be disapointed with the noticable graphic downgrade and the lack of things like some of the tracks, cars and even the crowd in the beginning of the race gone.
Biggest reason i'll never preorder a 1up is because they dont tell you anything about the cab when they reveal it. They show u a little highlight video and say go buy it. When they reveal them they should have 1 on and running and show u some live gameplay and answer a few general questions from the chat.
I will say they're getting close to getting a perfect driver down if they just get rid of the light box and upgrade the pedals a bit we'd have a really nice product . 19k fox did a review on this and was pretty critical of it , he wasnt to Thrilled. Thanks for the review man!
I heard Fox wasn’t too thrilled, I’ll check out his video along with everyone else’s today. I was surprised to see the marquee from the last generations, I wonder if they needed to design this because of maximizing the height of this. Just like Ridge Racer it sits on the very top, I am happy that if I do change this it will take me a few minutes just sapping on a Szabo’s clip on. It adds up another $62, but the quality is totally worth it. I’m not big on preordering either, this is the one time it worked out for us by getting it a day or two before available online. That’s a really good idea, I didn’t think of that. Maybe F&F was the first Deluxe cabinet they designed.

Yes, Buystuff arcades will have a new racing gaming box for F&F coming soon. Similar mod for SW, RR and Outrun but updated games adds about 220 extra games.

Thank you Sam Sam! Yes they are identical, it’s possible there’s a stronger spring I can’t tell on RR because I put those covers over them. I’ll probably do the same to F&F, but you don’t have to hammer the brake like RR it’s basically gas and steering very fun and casual racing game. Thank you for watching 👊

I was a little disappointed when I couldn’t connect right away, I was actually thinking am I going to have to return this? The steering was bad, update changed everything it’s such a better experience now. I’d expect retailers to be interested in this cab, we should see a ton of these for awhile. I didn’t notice how it looked before update, I was so discouraged about getting online set up :) but it really does look great, there’s not a bad angle anywhere on the screen.
Nice review! I'm worried about the emulation for this one. The fact that it is not really arcade authentic and tries to turn one game into two is kind of a deal breaker. Glad you are enjoying it though! paPOw!!! 💥💥

Right now, it seems like R&R is better than F&F cab... online connectability is serious and will cause customers to steer away from buying this cab! For me, I will wait for the sale to happen before buying two, and hopefully, there will be an update to resolve those issues! PD7, great review of the cab...

I don’t know Peter, I pulled that pcb out of my cab. I had troubles connecting to online so it never saved anything when I played.

Thanks for a straight forward and negativity free review. Too many reviewers act as if these cabs have all cons and no pros. And they rant about issues like marquees, missing cars and paired down graphics. Why would this be a one to one graphic port when the real thing costs thousands. Im fine with paying 600 and getting a fun lightweight arcade port. So many people seem to not appreciate anything. I grew up with not much and now im able to own 20 Arcade1up cabinets. None of these are perfect but they also aren’t horrible products the way some reviewers and customers who never had the intention on buying these anyways.
People as a whole just complain about everything. I understand fair criticism but only the best reviewers make balanced reviews without harping on one or two shortcomings and damning the entire cab because they’re dismissive this isn’t Daytona or Cruis’n.
Thank you Adam! We are truly fortunate to be able to own arcades from our childhood that bring back nostalgia for a price we can afford. These aren’t built to last forever, but neither are the actual arcades we remember they all will run into problems. This is by far my favorite racing cab yet and it brings new excitement to want to play in my arcade. Is there away to mod it to a sit down cabinet?
There is for RR and Outrun, F&F is tricky because there’s no riser. The deluxe top and bottom slides in together when assembled. I suppose the bottom base would have to be cut down low enough to become a sit down and the front under coin door would need a bigger square size gap cut out for feet to go inside. It’s possible, have you seen Multicade Matt’s RR sit down video?
Not sure why people hate on ridge racer cab, every single game on ridge racer is better than the two half games on f and f. Namco's handling system is far superior and rivaling Daytona, Sega rally etc. Not sure why you even need a four way shifter for f and f? Just to shift at the start of every race?
I am terrible at RR, RR2 and Rave Racer so I decided to add mod for games like Daytona. I did really like Ace Driver it was my favorite game on cab, your right about the shifter only going to need it at the beginning unless you wipe out. Thank you for watching y tyndale! I really appreciate it 👊

@@PDX7I disagree about not needing the shifter for Ace Driver games. I am always changing gears speeding up and slowing down around corners on the harder tracks. I think you might get a slight speed increase using the shifter on all the games. I mainly use Automatic on Ridge Racer, Ridge Racer 2 and Rave Racer. (I have a few top 10 times on them for the leaderboards). Ace Driver games I can't do nearly as well. Ace Driver games are still cool but trying to get first place feels nearly impossible. I've done it a few times but not much.

PD7 you’re a really nice guy so I hope you don’t take my constructive criticisms the wrong way. My only suggestion is that you need to bring something to the table other than a sorta general showcase of the product. I can’t put my finger at the moment on what you can do but try and cover something on the cab others haven’t or put some like production into it. I hope that doesn’t come off as a dbag I want to see your content improve. Just from watching all the reviews I found yours to be sorta without passion. I felt like if I were to just say “Great review” just cause you’re a nice guy wouldn’t be genuine or helpful. Hope this helps

Graphics don't look right actually look worse than the actual cab

Come on! Crusin Blast even on the Switch is FAR better than this. Have you actually played the F&F arcade game in an arcade or via Teknoparrot? This is the first time A1Up has released a non actual arcade game. Blitz ported well and they were forced to change some things, so will still dub F&F their first fake. Still like your vids though, none the less.
Rush I’m just saying this is the closest thing so far from A1up to Cruisin, I know it’s half of the actual F&F and more of a Drift but it’s great for a recreational player like myself who just likes the step on the pedal and steer :) I’m sure Cruisin Blast looks a lot better on switch, hopefully things keep improving and we get better and better arcades from AtGames, iircade and A1up because we will all benefit from that. Ridge racer is pretty boring , very basic. This looks more exciting . Lot of people complaining about the washed out graphics . Since when did graphics ever make a game fun ? Did we like nes games back in the day because of the stellar graphics . Well hopefully most people hate this so it goes on sale for 200 .
If this drops to $200 buy 2 :) it’s a very fun arcade I played through F&F last night and had a great time. If I had someone else to play with I’d pickup a 2nd cab when prices drop. Thanks for watching knightofftheround!
