Honestly a lot of the problems with this cab could have and should have been solved with transparency: -Don't split up the two games. Use the Drift artwork to make it abundantly clear what game this is. -Let people know that there will be a day one update, so that people don't buy two cabs and start asking "How do I connect the two cabs?" Other than that, I think the way the cabs connect is rather clunky. If you're going to have the cabs communicate using a router as an intermediary, that could introduce latency and other issues. It would be better if these cabs communicated with each other directly. Take the Nintendo Switch for example. If you want to play with someone locally, the Switches connect directly to each other without the need for a router. Iirc you've been able to do that with Nintendo hardware ever since they introduced the wireless link adapter for the Game Boy Advance, so they should've had no problem implementing it with this cab. I wasn't planning on picking it up because I already have a driving cab, but I am glad to hear that people are enjoying playing it.
Man, I own a pizza parlor with 6 arcade 1ups which turns out is a big hit. Anyhow I considered buying 2 of these today and boy I'm glad I didn't! I didn't care for the arcade version but I thought the kids might enjoy it... THANKS FOR SAVING ME $1200+ (subscribed!)
19kfox, This is the review I was waiting for! Needed to know the totality of features of the experience (part of it, linked play). After the initial Arcade1up announcement for this cab, it sounded AMAZING! The only wrinkle for me was 30fps, which unfortunately was only the first thread in this unravel. As more information came out from the WONDERFUL folks in the community, I began to lose hope for the cab. As the first reviews came out, single play experiences, the graphics weren't my cup of tea as I had seen the actual arcade machines in person. In fact, Arcade1up's graphics didn't remind me anywhere near the arcade. Yours was the only review so far that confirmed what my eye balls were seeing. In other reviews, I thought it might just be me, who thought, from the footage, that the graphics and draw-in looked crappy? Maybe it was the cameras they were using? But no, I'm glad your review pointed this out clearly, and I now know I'm not going crazy. And OH MY, that glitch-eee-ness in the two player experience. Such a letdown. THANK YOU FOX for making the purchases and letting us know your thoughts! This did save me money as I won't be purchasing this cab. And I'm also not considering it at a lower price. Even at $200, this isn't an experience worth the real estate in my arcade (however, I'm INCREDIBLY HAPPY for those who are loving this cab). I'm getting the Buy Stuff Store mod kit for my Out Run. Having Hydro Thunder, Crazy Taxi and Daytona added to my arcade for a fraction of the price of a Fast And Furious... I mean, Drift split in two parts, will be more worth it to me. I got one of these and love it. It updated and fixed a lot of issues with it. Sound is awesome. That cabinet is awesome. And that iconic dom and brian supra picture.

I was on the fence to buy this cab, so I have been waiting for an honest and detailed review before making my decision, as Arcade1up has let us all done so many times before. Sorry to see that Arcade1up continues to mislead its fanbase. As we all know, buyer's remorse doesn't lead to loyal customers, and burning their fanbase today is killing their success in the future. Sadly, I'm an optimist and I will keep holding my breath that they will get it right soon. Let's hope that day comes before they put themselves out of business.
My cab comes in tomorrow but I've been watching a lot of footage on the cab. My only issue is them splitting Drift into 2 games. That is stupid. I'm more irritated about having to switch games to pick a course. Drift was just an update/expansion of the original so I'm not upset about it not being there but it is still not right to advertise it there...when its really not there. Doing a wired connection isn't an issue for me with how things are set up in my home but I can understand how it is for some if you rcabs and router are far away and dont want a long cord going across your home. From what I've seen/know, I'm confident I will enjoy the cab but I can see why some won't Awesome review Fox!
I think the most disappointing thing about this cab is that it makes me question if A1Up can even pull off a Daytona USA or Crazy Taxi cab without any major issues.
Great review - I was 50/50 on this and now I am holding off. The side by side comparison shows how washed out the screen is compared to the arcade version (not to mention some of the other issues you mentioned) maybe down the road if it goes cheap like Ridge Racer did for a few weeks.
Not just the screen, they changed to 30FPS and reduced the graphics to the point of slightly better than an N64 game. Nowhere near Game Cube level, yet alone the arcade game.
You know what is harder to sell than 1 arcade1up cabinet? This looks really disappointing man. The excitement people had for it over the weekend gave me hope but man this looked rough. You looked handsome as always
@jayman2196 All hardware links work like that. If you got a router that does not perform well enough, it's not even hard wired in, and maybe the wifi signal is too far away what do you expect to get?
I would rather buy 2 of these F&F cabs rather than that K.I. Pro that is around the same price. You hard-core A1Up UA-camrs have to at least be fair and link the cabs correctly before spreading it around that these cabs are a bad deal.
the steering wheel on the original fnf and fnf tokyo drift had both the bungee spring for the wheel recenter and force feedback during gameplay. ngl i think arcade1up missed an opportunity to add force feedback for the cab
As I said earlier, the cab is very nice looking and the shifter is dope, but the Ridge Racer cab is superior imo, both on a technical level (60 fps in the Ridge Racer games) and on the quality of the content (5 games in Ridge Racer even though very few tracks in them). I think A1Up really nailed it with Ridge Racer.
A1UP deception is the norm.... Remember Simpsons cab showed large white trackball like GT and then the cab actually came with Gen1 centipede trackball that was small and yellowish.
This makes me want to play the Wii port of this. Aka Crusin' and see what the gameplay is like. I only played this game once at a gameworks many years ago. Crusin' Blast is the best arcade racer I've played in years, so if it's like that I would pick this up...once it goes on sale...:)
Thanks for the review Fox. I share a lot of the same sentiments. I noticed right away that the marquee was washed out too. I only bought 1 and had every intention of buying another later, even situating it next to my router just in case. Now I would need to still buy 2 Ethernet cords, 2 usb adapters, and 2 usb splitters since I am lighting up the coin doors with retro530s coin light kit (another purchase), just to maybe have a better chance it will run better. At this point I am going to hold off until I know for a fact it won’t glitch over wired. So disappointing. You would think after so much time Arcade1up would fine tune their shortcomings and go forward based off community feedback. There are always a few things that feel like such an oversight, like why not have a cutout behind the pedals like ridge racer and outrun? Having to run a cord underneath and out the back and into the cab seems so backwards 🤦♂️
Great job showing us what we've been waiting for: how the 2 cabinet link up feature was implemented and if it was enough to push this cab to the next level. For a feature that was highly touted in product advertisements, im surprised at the lack of connectivity instructions out the box and the extra hoops to go thru to get it working with a router. Good stuff my dude!

Dude I was so looking forward to your review on this cabinet and you didn't disappoint! I swear we are brothers from another man. We practically think alike on if something is good or really bad. When you said the games were some crappy PS2 port I lol'd hard man. And I still think they grabbed the Cruisn' from the Wii (which I've watched game footage and even grabbed the game for my modded Wii) or maybe the Drift from PSP and tweaked them by sprinkling and cramming the F&F arcade stuff and then called it an arcade port. Which it clearly is not. I say the only good thing out of the F&F A1up cabinet is the 4 speed shifter which I am going to make my own to run on my PC modded, sit down Ridge Racer. I also have to say and even with them having to tweak and change certain things on the Outrun cabinet. The F&F is the worst racing cabinet they have produced so far. And with that said, no hate towards anybody that enjoys the cabinet for what it is. But if I pre-ordered this cabinet and found out I was majorly duped and mislead. I would have cancelled my pre-order right away. I doubt I would have even picked it up if it was slashed to $299 like my Ridge Racer was. As I would totally throw a PC in it and mod it like I did my Ridge Racer A1up. Keep up the great content man! And congrats to 100 Sunday shows! And many more to come!

Thank you Fox! I'm sorry this was a turd. I was afraid of it though. Arcade 1up just cannot get it right. Thank you for doing this, and now we know they cannot even link a cabinet correctly. One other note to you... I am in Tennessee visiting my sister for the next 2 months. She has no wifi and no computer. So I won't be catching your shows live until I get home. I saw your 100th while I was being layed over at Chicago Midway airport. Unfortunately I will be doing your replays as I can. I never want to miss your show. You are must watch! Worst case, I will be doing a ton of catch up when I get back home.
In regards to the wiring not only or sucks that you need to connect it like this, but can you imagine how much of a hurdle jt is when most have these things in a garage, to get the modem itself in there ? Good luck keeping non laggy connection with wifi
Awesome review Fox! Very thorough and in depth dive into it. I think this is a cool looking cab, and could be a lot of fun ( if you don't have a racer yet), but is a major let down that the link cab was not working all that great and that there is only the one game. Jury is still out for me.
You can get ethernet adaptor strip ports that can be plugged into a router. So if your router only has 2 ports its not a problem. Ive never used one myself but theyre on Amazon pretty cheap. Thanks for the review
Most informative review I've seen so far. Seeing them with wired link would have been nice, but i also agree that the majority of buyers would likely be relying on wifi so i cant knock that much. Especially when the company isnt including any means for you to do that in the box. Thanks for the vid.

It's nice to see a review where the words weren't carefully chosen as to not mess up the product producers need to use you as there push on buying the product. Arcade 1up should covet a reviewer like you. Simple care in their work is the difference between huge profits for many years or what they seem to be leaning towards, a great idea poorly executed, but desired. Let's hope Nintendo wakes up and surprises us with official Donkey Kong , Super Mario cabs one day. I bet they would make a great and affordable arcade machine.

Argh! The lag on the multi player is completely unacceptable for a Local Network. I have no nostalgia for this game so wasn't going to pick it up, but far too many BIG issues here. That rumble feature needs to be intense. Does Arcade 1up want to borrow my old N64 Rumble Pak? Pretty sure it could give a more haptic feedback experience. 5:58 the reason why you didn’t scan your barcode because it’s probably just a bug so hopefully your companion app will probably have a bug fix. Where are you are a barcode can be able to be configured to except this time
I'm glad I'm going for the Ridge Racer cab instead of FATF because simply put, I can't stand due to back injury (I have a slipped disc and sciatica), and buystuffarcades are doing a sit down conversion for Ridge Racer which is great as well as the main game box for that cabinet (I probably wont get that since I want to play stuff like other Raw Thrills games i.e. Batman, Fast & Furious (proper version) and other racing games like Mario Kart GP/GP2 etc.
Excellent review for certain titles if you want it and have the space it’s best to get the REAL cab. They go for less that 500 at Captains Auction in SoCal.

Been wanting one for a while but peeps are reporting the claw is too big and hits the side panels...also, glitches causing one to have to pull the control deck and do the Konami code fix 😅

Yeah, it's a damn shame because I was considering getting two but at this point even if the price went down, I'll pass. Rather invest on a Light gun game set ups and a nice DIY racing rigs and continue updating my WFH office. This release should give all those who want a Daytona and a Crusin cab second thoughts. Smh. Big pro I can say is the better life span of the cabinet compared to the original. I have the original sit down cabinet and took me so long to fix with the ancient computer hardware I needed to buy to run it.
They could have added a ton more games. Then it would have been worth it.. Not buying. Thanks for the review FoX looks like you confirmed everything we heard in the past few weeks which is disappointing. For the wired linking I will assume that the wired connection can be done via network switch wired to the main router also. I already ran a 10 port switch to my arcade to support my Legends Pinball so technically I would be able to tap into that for a wired connection. Not that I plan on getting 2 of these but still good to know for potential future "useful" linked games i.e. shooter or proper racer rom game.
Sounds like the only thing this cabinet is good for is modding... I'll see if I can potentially pick up a used cabinet down the line for a Crazy Taxi mod. Appreciate your efforts 19k, thanks for the great content.
My F & F cabinet worked for one day and now the game thinks the brake pedal is stuck in the ON position. It auto selects the options in the menu. In the game the cars don’t go anywhere because the brakes are stuck in the on position. Physically the brake pedal seems to operate as it should but there is either a glitch in the game or a malfunction in the pedal hardware. What I am really upset about is I’ve had an email in to arcade1up for seven days with absolutely no response.
I wonder if you could go old school and just run them through a hub similar to how we did with Mario Kart Double Dash on GameCube. If so that would probably be the way to go for multiplayer to eliminate lag.
Great review, I can only wonder if this fell victim to a lot of license limitations hence all of the changes. It's a great looking cab, but have to agree the gameplay issues take it off my must have list

I'm planning to just get one or two on sale (depending on the price) but I don't understand why you can't just put the cord from one machine into another and be done like that. Also personally I'd like them to add and updated "third game" that's just one game with everything unlocked. Dunno if they'd do that but if they just did those two things i think the user experience would be much better

I can't believe how terrible it looks and the number of issues. Completely disappointed. I own a Ridge Racer cabinet, and I'll mod it with the buy stuff arcades racing kit. Terrible work, Arcade1up.

I wanted this cab soo bad. But when I got a chance to play it before buying it I realized how crappy the driving mechanics are and the fact that it is only ONE GAME CHOPPED INTO 2 GAMES. They failed on this one in my opinion. I'm glad I didn't purchase one. Thanks for the honest, awesome review. 👍🤙

I'll hold the line for a lower price as I still need a dedicated driver, esp if Buystuff can mod this out. It damn shame of the downfall of arcade1up! It sound like Fast and Furious cab/cabs are trash and everyone should wait for a clearance sale! If we need to buy a top of the line router and two adapters just to be hopeful that it gives it a chance to play well, I'm out.

This makes me want to play the Wii port of this. Aka Crusin' and see what the gameplay is like. I only played this game once at a gameworks many years ago. Crusin' Blast is the best arcade racer I've played in years, so if it's like that I would pick this up...once it goes on sale...:)
Thanks for the review Fox. I share a lot of the same sentiments. I noticed right away that the marquee was washed out too. I only bought 1 and had every intention of buying another later, even situating it next to my router just in case. Now I would need to still buy 2 Ethernet cords, 2 usb adapters, and 2 usb splitters since I am lighting up the coin doors with retro530s coin light kit (another purchase), just to maybe have a better chance it will run better. At this point I am going to hold off until I know for a fact it won’t glitch over wired. So disappointing. You would think after so much time Arcade1up would fine tune their shortcomings and go forward based off community feedback. There are always a few things that feel like such an oversight, like why not have a cutout behind the pedals like ridge racer and outrun? Having to run a cord underneath and out the back and into the cab seems so backwards 🤦♂️
Great job showing us what we've been waiting for: how the 2 cabinet link up feature was implemented and if it was enough to push this cab to the next level.
For a feature that was highly touted in product advertisements, im surprised at the lack of connectivity instructions out the box and the extra hoops to go thru to get it working with a router.

Dude I was so looking forward to your review on this cabinet and you didn't disappoint! I swear we are brothers from another man. We practically think alike on if something is good or really bad. When you said the games were some crappy PS2 port I lol'd hard man. And I still think they grabbed the Cruisn' from the Wii (which I've watched game footage and even grabbed the game for my modded Wii) or maybe the Drift from PSP and tweaked them by sprinkling and cramming the F&F arcade stuff and then called it an arcade port. Which it clearly is not. I say the only good thing out of the F&F A1up cabinet is the 4 speed shifter which I am going to make my own to run on my PC modded, sit down Ridge Racer. I also have to say and even with them having to tweak and change certain things on the Outrun cabinet. The F&F is the worst racing cabinet they have produced so far. And with that said, no hate towards anybody that enjoys the cabinet for what it is. But if I pre-ordered this cabinet and found out I was majorly duped and mislead. I would have cancelled my pre-order right away. I doubt I would have even picked it up if it was slashed to $299 like my Ridge Racer was. As I would totally throw a PC in it and mod it like I did my Ridge Racer A1up.

One other note to you... I am in Tennessee visiting my sister for the next 2 months. She has no wifi and no computer. So I won't be catching your shows live until I get home. I saw your 100th while I was being layed over at Chicago Midway airport. Unfortunately I will be doing your replays as I can. I never want to miss your show. You are must watch! In regards to the wiring not only or sucks that you need to connect it like this, but can you imagine how much of a hurdle jt is when most have these things in a garage, to get the modem itself in there ? Good luck keeping non laggy connection with wifi
Awesome review Fox! Very thorough and in depth dive into it. I think this is a cool looking cab, and could be a lot of fun ( if you don't have a racer yet), but is a major let down that the link cab was not working all that great and that there is only the one game. Jury is still out for me.
You can get ethernet adaptor strip ports that can be plugged into a router. So if your router only has 2 ports its not a problem. Ive never used one myself but theyre on Amazon pretty cheap. Thanks for the review
Most informative review I've seen so far. Seeing them with wired link would have been nice, but i also agree that the majority of buyers would likely be relying on wifi so i cant knock that much. Especially when the company isnt including any means for you to do that in the box. Thanks for the vid.

It's nice to see a review where the words weren't carefully chosen as to not mess up the product producers need to use you as there push on buying the product. Arcade 1up should covet a reviewer like you. Simple care in their work is the difference between huge profits for many years or what they seem to be leaning towards, a great idea poorly executed, but desired. Let's hope Nintendo wakes up and surprises us with official Donkey Kong , Super Mario cabs one day. I bet they would make a great and affordable arcade machine.
I buy all these cabs with my own money.

Argh! The lag on the multi player is completely unacceptable for a Local Network. I have no nostalgia for this game so wasn't going to pick it up, but far too many BIG issues here. That rumble feature needs to be intense. Does Arcade 1up want to borrow my old N64 Rumble Pak? Pretty sure it could give a more haptic feedback experience.

5:58 the reason why you didn’t scan your barcode because it’s probably just a bug so hopefully your companion app will probably have a bug fix. Where are you are a barcode can be able to be configured to except this time
Have you tried a crossover cable to connect the 2 cabs directly together? It could work.
I was thinking the same thing for a split second but I'm guessing the IP assignment is via DHCP.
I'm glad I'm going for the Ridge Racer cab instead of FATF because simply put, I can't stand due to back injury (I have a slipped disc and sciatica), and buystuffarcades are doing a sit down conversion for Ridge Racer which is great as well as the main game box for that cabinet (I probably wont get that since I want to play stuff like other Raw Thrills games i.e. Batman, Fast & Furious (proper version) and other racing games like Mario Kart GP/GP2 etc.
Excellent review for certain titles if you want it and have the space it’s best to get the REAL cab. They go for less that 500 at Captains Auction in SoCal.

Been wanting one for a while but peeps are reporting the claw is too big and hits the side panels...also, glitches causing one to have to pull the control deck and do the Konami code fix 😅

Yeah, it's a damn shame because I was considering getting two but at this point even if the price went down, I'll pass. Rather invest on a Light gun game set ups and a nice DIY racing rigs and continue updating my WFH office.
This release should give all those who want a Daytona and a Crusin cab second thoughts. Smh.

Big pro I can say is the better life span of the cabinet compared to the original. I have the original sit down cabinet and took me so long to fix with the ancient computer hardware I needed to buy to run it.

Plug in a set of speakers or headphones into the PCB. If you don’t hear anything it’s the PCB. If you do it’s the speakers.
Thanks for the review FoX looks like you confirmed everything we heard in the past few weeks which is disappointing. For the wired linking I will assume that the wired connection can be done via network switch wired to the main router also. I already ran a 10 port switch to my arcade to support my Legends Pinball so technically I would be able to tap into that for a wired connection. Not that I plan on getting 2 of these but still good to know for potential future "useful" linked games i.e. shooter or proper racer rom game.
So in your opinion, is ridge racer a better cab to purchase
Sounds like the only thing this cabinet is good for is modding... I'll see if I can potentially pick up a used cabinet down the line for a Crazy Taxi mod. Appreciate your efforts 19k, thanks for the great content.
My F & F cabinet worked for one day and now the game thinks the brake pedal is stuck in the ON position. It auto selects the options in the menu. In the game the cars don’t go anywhere because the brakes are stuck in the on position. Physically the brake pedal seems to operate as it should but there is either a glitch in the game or a malfunction in the pedal hardware. What I am really upset about is I’ve had an email in to arcade1up for seven days with absolutely no response.
There's no excuse for that bro. They have to take care of their customers.

I wonder if you could go old school and just run them through a hub similar to how we did with Mario Kart Double Dash on GameCube. If so that would probably be the way to go for multiplayer to eliminate lag.
Great review, I can only wonder if this fell victim to a lot of license limitations hence all of the changes. It's a great looking cab, but have to agree the gameplay issues take it off my must have list

I'm planning to just get one or two on sale (depending on the price) but I don't understand why you can't just put the cord from one machine into another and be done like that. Also personally I'd like them to add and updated "third game" that's just one game with everything unlocked. Dunno if they'd do that but if they just did those two things i think the user experience would be much better

I can't believe how terrible it looks and the number of issues. Completely disappointed. I own a Ridge Racer cabinet, and I'll mod it with the buy stuff arcades racing kit. Terrible work, Arcade1up.

Great Review Fox. It’s really great to get multiple takes on this cab in order to make an informed decision. It still looks fun even with the problems. I wonder if Joe Szabo will make a marquee. We shouldn’t have to do that though at this point. Seems like it would be a buy at $299.

It damn shame of the downfall of arcade1up! It sound like Fast and Furious cab/cabs are trash and everyone should wait for a clearance sale! You don't need a router with a bunch of open ports, just get a network switch, it will work exactly the same and be cheaper.
You don’t need a switch at all just plug them directly using a Crossover cable
