A couple of things I forgot to mention after our 4 hour journey and putting the awning up... 1) The mobile data download and upload speeds are rubbish as they always are at Ashwell. 2) Our booking confirmation from last year said £222.60. This year we paid £233.80, that's an increase of £11.20, which is 5%. We are here in high season for 7 days.
Hi Bob and Jenny. Enjoyed the vlog - Ashridge Farm looks like a nice site. It's not so very far from us so it's a possibility for a week-end maybe. Wish I could put up our awning as fast as you did yours ! New chairs look good as did that beer. Lovely photos at the close of the vlog - we especially liked the one of Poppy on her own - full of character ! Thanks for the video. Cheers. George and Trish. 😊
Hi Bob and Jenny, it was a delight to meet you guys (and Poppy) at Ashwell. Your channel is not only entertaining but has been invaluable to us as newbies to motorhoming as we've truly benefitted from you sharing your ideas and tips and recommendations. Long may it continue!
Hi Bob & Jenny. It was great to meet you at Ashridge Farm on Saturday. Hope we didn't take up too much of your time with your friends visiting too. Your videos have helped us tremendously in our first year of owning a Swift Kon-Tiki. A year in and it all seems like 2nd nature now and we can't wait to get back out in the MH. Hope you enjoyed the Malbec. Nigel & Jayne.
Better late than never, Happy Easter !!!! I always enjoy your trips to each new campsite as well as all the remarks as you get installed... and more so when you had an audience....well deserved beer, Poppy looked fabulous ....Lol from Argentina...
I know Ashridge well (my caravan in storage there), but I still love seeing your arrival video's and walks around the site to see if anything has changed since I last went. You were very lucky with the weather this year, it's been gorgeous. Hope you had a lovely Easter break 🐥🐤🐣
Dear Bob and Jenny, Lovely video as always. Keep smiling as we enjoy your videos. Say hello to Poppy for us😊😊😊😊 Best wishes, Helen and Gordon Anderson.
Nice place we have our motor home in storage there we live near by did you know gorge Orwell wrote animal farm about 4miles from you worth going to the house keep smiling
Another informative video, you guys are great. Bob your such a professional at putting up the awning, I also have the Movelite T2 but every time I put it up it’s a shambles and my wife falls out with me. Maybe this summer I will get it right. 👍
Batten screws they use here to screw on the battens in the roof. A lot of caravaners here in Aus use them. Even ALDI sells them now and than. Just need a drill and bit and away you go. Better for the back too. lol
First of all, happy easter, bob, jenny & poppy, I enjoy your intros, I always find your vlogs interesting as you can just pack up & go. You've been to so many lovely places, have a lovely time, lots of love Linda xx ❤
Thanks again Bob and Jenny not forgetting Poppy ! Always feel as if we are away with you, watching the videos . You looked shattered Bob after putting up that awning bless you. X
Hi Bob,Jenny and Poppy, I love your arrival at sites and this one is a nice one. How long did it take you to put the awning up Bob, you sure deserved a beer after that. Chairs are nice, I bet Poppy made use of the third chair. Ha ha , lovely sunny weather for you, hope you enjoyed your weekend, loved the photos at the end of the video, Poppy looks really regal bless her x
Looks really nice there, we were in Ruthin in Wales today first time wearing a t-shirt, some geese were on one of the fields that we thought had chicks or something as they were chasing any other birds off, so we left them alone only for them to fly onto our field 😊
The chairs look good, in the market for chairs ourselves, our Isabella’s don’t fit in the campervan 😩 How flat do they fold please? Good job on the awning, enjoy you’re break 😎
Could you please tell me where you got the two step step-up for fitting the drive away awning? I've just down sized to the Swift 664 which has the awning on the turn of the roof, so I'm looking for a light weight step-up. Hope you're having a great Easter away and stay at Ferrymeadows. We are booked to go there in late June.
Thanks for sharing Bob& Jenny, nice wee site and if I remember correctly the pub in the village is very nice, great food. I think it was called The Three Tuns, maybe closed now like so many wonderful village pubs. Enjoy your Easter break 👍❤
I have a question as I've not solved it yet. How do you attach the camera so you can film while driving? Ive tried a few things but nothing has held it well yet.
I use the GoPro Sucker Mount and the GoPro Remote, the sucker is very strong. The links are in here www.bobearnshawmoho.co.uk/2020/06/video-equipment-and-software.html
Bob, In your video you refer to the awning tent as a driveaway awning. Looking at the way it was erected it's connected to the Thule wind down awning edge, so can't see how you could disconnect it from that to enable you to drive away. Or does the term driveaway mean something else?
There is a plastic double 'U' shaped connector that I can pull out to disconnect the tunnel part of the awning from the roll out canopy. I've done several videos, but this one probably explains it best. ua-cam.com/video/lcKjArZmKnU/v-deo.html
Hi Bob and Jenny I love watching your vlogs and wonder if you have any plans to visit Ireland? I know you had a trip booked to Northern Ireland that you had to cancel because of covid hopefully that will come up at some point, but any plans for visiting the Republic? Best wishes Mark.
Hi Bob you say they ground is rock hard we're currently away in Salisbury and yes ground is solid my partner managed to get 4 pegs in for our carpet but you seemed to manage pretty quickly what pegs did you use please? Great video once again thank you, 😊 x
Very good video Bob we are not far from this site but has a member of the the club not got there yet didn't realise its on our door step may be one day .👍
hope you all had lovely easter bob jenny and poppy another fantasic video always pleasure watching your videos hope the weather great for you all stay safe always from rolf marivel baby ayesha and chance staffi x
Hi Both, watch the vlogs regular and a subscriber. I’ve not heard you comment about pitch prices (majority all 10-20% increase). I think this would be really relevant in your vlogs for everyone help decide if it’s in their budget
Our booking confirmation from last year said £222.60. This year we paid £233.80, that's an increase of £11.20, which is 5%. We are here in high season for 7 days. Everything is going up, for reasons we are all too aware of. We were hoping to relax and not worry about how much everything costs for a while.
bit of a random question. Are the rock pegs easy to get out on a hard standing pitch? ( I start my caravaning life in a few weeks and wondering if i need to buy yet another tool....lol)
Hi Bob, Jenny and of course Poppy Happy Easter to you all. Great arriving video as always We are due to get a puppy, who will go on our adventures in the motorhome with us. I have a question about Poppies crate .... what sort of crate is it and how do you secure it whilst traveling.🤔 🤷 Any advice would be gratefully received. Sarah, Graham and puppy Dolly (dachshund)

Love seeing the side tent! Great to have a bit of extra space. Highly enjoyable video, thank you! 💐🥂😊

Quite a lot of storage there too.

Looks a nice site, hope you both had a nice Easter, best regards from Edinburgh.
It, is and we are having a lovely weekend!
Love the sounds of all the birds there, lovely place. By the way we use batten screws and a drill bit instead of pegs. Just always angle them.

I take it that the A-frame is now working fine after the repair. Was it covered under a guarantee?
Yes, there is a two year warranty.
You truly deserved that beer after putting that awning up Mr. Earnshaw!😉 Enjoy your Easter break all three of you.
Many thanks for the video, hope you are having a good Easter, love the way Poppy has her own camping chair. Take care.
