Hi Bob and Jenny, nice sunny arrival. Poppies little face. The Crooked Inn , loved the chimney. The campsite looks very nice. Shame there are so many houses there. Looks a pretty village , thank you for sharing xx Julie and Tony xx
Hi Bob and Jenny and of course not forgetting Poppy! It made me laugh out loud when she barked and you focused in on her in the van “Yes?” She is so gorgeous ❤🐾
We have the same awning as you, we purchased it from the MH show. The only issue I did not like was the elastic sides that bow away from the van. I didnt like the fact in the high winds it could easily be whipped away. But its like many other awnings. So I decided to make a insert that fills that gap that doesnt change the awning. From a old windbreak we created two 6 inch wide pieces with a loop to insert a pole. The extendable poles were off a previous bit of kit. I adjusted the top so it could slot behind the gap between the canopy and van. The bottom pegged down The sides clipped to the awning and the other had suckers for the van. Because the suckers were not under strain they stayed put. Worked well.
Great to see you both back in Hertfordshire (with some sunshine). That turning in Ashwell is ridiculous. Nice to see you are enjoying your new Motorhome. 👍👍 🏕
Well done Bob and Jenny a great video as ever it looks a great park and a lovely area to explore I’ve been to a few places around that way like letchworth and baldock as my cousin and his wife lived in borehamwood and we visited them a lot Well done on those road works bob that entrance was really tight you did well to get round with the car on the back it’s awful everywhere at the moment always a load of road works think everyone has invested in a digger 😂 Bob if you want a nice low alcohol beer the Ghost Ship 0.5 are worth a try I like them and they are similar to the normal one and also Guinness 0 is good Glad you are both happy with Konnie she seems very smooth driving and towing seems no issue at all! All the best to you both and poppy Daniel
We like that site at Ashwell. Is the bakery still in the village? Remember having some lovely pastries and cakes from there. Thanks for another look around. 🙂🚐 Trev
It's just we're thinking of getting a new one. This one is an Outdoor Revolution Movelite T2 we've used it for 5 years. ua-cam.com/video/z7BXJPgQ_4I/v-deo.htmlsi=mPIMpQ1zYS8udq6w ua-cam.com/video/z7BXJPgQ_4I/v-deo.htmlsi=mPIMpQ1zYS8udq6w
It is good you know the country like the back of your hand . I get lost just going to the airport . You are a good driver did you drive for a living.Good videos .👍
Hi guys. We have owned 2 x caravans and a motorhome and now a campervan. We have found awnings a real pain. Getting up in the middle of night to take it down or constantly hammering pegs in. One damaged our caravan. Rain and soaking wet canvas to pack away when moving sites. Tears in guy rope anchorage. Weight and size when wet. Finding somewhere to hang them up when home to dry . Gravel pitches. Space they take up etc. Lists go on. We can set up on a site in 10mins with a campervan. Spend our time watching people putting them up. What's your real experience with awnings. George and Jane
Yes it can take around half an hour to put up and put away, but we like the privacy, somewhere to keep the chairs and table out, shade when we need it, space to entertain, overall the benefit outweighs the negatives.
Nice to see the updates at Ashridge and surrounding area's. Makes me want to visit Barnet again...and visit friends soon! Haven't been for a few years now!
We are enjoying our new replacement motorhome, like you guys. I note, you stated this may be the last time you will use your awning. Why is that ? We have the same awning as you guys, which we assume will fit up to our new Chausson 640 Titanium Ultimate. However, not so sure we'll be using it much frankly. Same, too, with the G3 Residence Room we have, which we will look to sell.
We are having a similar predicament as you…we have a garmin sat nav that has our dimensions and we have trusted wherever we have travelled…got a new Moho in March (Fiat) with a sat nav built in where we can put in our Moho dimensions however trialling both until we have the same level of confidence
Hi Both, OMG my goodness Bob that road was just a little bit narrow to get down I hope you told the reception how narrow the road was but glad you both are having a nice time in spite of the start all the best to you both 💖👍🐕
Does the new vehicle not have onboard fresh and waste water tanks. Your aquaroll and wastemaster must take a lot of room in the boot. The automatic seems very good I am getting very tempted. Great video again folks.
Yes it has on board tanks but we are pitched up for six nights with an awning and didn't fancy detaching the awning and moving the van to fill up and empty the water. Besides, we're not short of storage.
Oh Bob, we got caught coming out of there last year when they were doing works and had to disconnect the car to get round as the works were on the corner and the locals had parked opposite. Mr D was saying lots of very naughty words. They had a Dutch touring group who had booked nearly every HS pitch. Luckily, they left the following day, but they took all the loo rolls with them. 😅😅 They were convinced there wouldn't be any at the sites. We had to explain what to expect on CMC sites. They also booked out the 3 Tuns too. The wardens were so patient with them. X
Another great video I have watched a lot of motor home videos but have to say yours are the best,, so informative and I love the repartee you have with each other and the dramatic music just topped it all off 😀
Funny I've been to Ashridge today to do a few jobs on my caravan. I love this site and sometimes stay there. I only have to move a few yards out of storage to get there so it's completely stress free. I also love the wardens. They are so friendly and always have a chat when they see me. It's a shame the access road is so narrow even without roadworks. You did really well getting in there with your big vehicle and car. Little Poppy looked like she was enjoying herself. Very cute how she opened her cage door on her own and got in. Great video. Thank you both.
Great site we're of to craig tara next week in static caravan not our towing van but be good just to get away planning on going to Strathclyde park caravan site for a few nights tho really enjoy watching your videos ❤
Dear jenny and Bob. We watch you every post and love your travels but the music added has spoiled the relaxation and hearing you both chat and you getting it wrong, jenny correcting you and poppy excited to arrive. Now this odd music is spoiling the journey for us. We just like you. You are enough! In our 60's.

Good idea, pity the manufacturers don't add something similar.

Thanks, the Guinness 0 is a good one and I think Ghost Ship was good too.

Not sure, didn't go down there, cakes are off my menu anyway!
It was still there last year. Huge Belgian buns. The butchers is fantastic too.
That was a very tight turn in!!
Love the "there's a car coming", "I don't care"! Made me laugh, been in that situation a few times!
Yes, they can wait....
I was going to ask what awning you have but not if you’re not using it again

Thanks 👍 No I didn't drive for a living, but I did do a lot of driving.

Nice to go back to our old haunts.
Thank you
Maybe if they trimmed the bushes it may help on the entrance road? i know it is nesting season.
Certainly don't need to watch the vlog to know when you have arrived!! Poppy announces your arrival to all!! X

We might be getting a new awning, on its last legs.

Yes, not sure we trust the new one yet.
Hi Both, OMG my goodness Bob that road was just a little bit narrow to get down I hope you told the reception how narrow the road was but glad you both are having a nice time in spite of the start all the best to you both 💖👍🐕
The assistant manager was also towing a car and had the same problem.
Fantastic Video. Well Done.
Welcome back to our 'neck of the woods'! Try 'The Pig and Abbot' in Abington Pigotts - lovely grub and very dog friendly!
Not heard of that before.
How on earth could you access that site with a 8ft wide caravan, ? Great vid 👍🏼
People do, but there isn't usually cones on the corner!
Wow, that was tight on the entrance road! Well done for getting round. I thought for a minute you would have to unhook the car! Ian
So did I, fortunately it reversed back a bit.
Great video.
Thanks!
Hi Bob how far are the cycle path on the old railway , as we have a dog , I see you took your car ?
Smallford is around 26 miles from Ashwell. The cycle path is 6 miles long from Hatfield to St Albans or 3 miles Smallford to St Albans.
Ok thanks

Great video as always.
Interesting to see you have a camera inside the fridge - must be a new feature of your new motorhome! 😂😂
Yes, all the new ones have it. 😂😂
Blimey what a hairy entrance 😮I was breathing in for you
Hi Bob enjoyed the video please can you tell me where you got the beer from it looked nice
You get get it from Tesco.
Is A Auto now ? How you finding it?
New one isn't Noisy at all now when your Driving
Yes the auto is brilliant and the van is a little quieter too.
Clumber Park is hopeless for a mobile signal. Which is surprising given it's proximity to the A1..

We've come across Dutch groups before, touring Scotland though. They must believe in strength in numbers!
Another great video I have watched a lot of motor home videos but have to say yours are the best,, so informative and I love the repartee you have with each other and the dramatic music just topped it all off 😀
Wow, thank you!
Bob, have you had a wig. Keep up with the videos x
No it's all my own hair 😊
Hi Bob and Jenny. Well done making that “evil” turn! Can you tell me does the van GPS see traffic too?
Yes, I believe it dies traffic too, but it's not been put to use yet!
Hink you are drinking dandelion and burdock x
Blimey that takes me back.

Thank you.

Thanks, always good to get a change of scenery.
That lager sounds disgusting!!
Bit too sweet for my taste.
Our westie Jack is the same as Poppy. He knows exactly when we are arriving at a site even if we have never been and starts crying.
It would help if the hedge on the left had been kept tidy.
The hedge wasn't too bad, but that was very tight!
If you enjoy a Guinness I can heartily recommend their 0% Alcohol one. It’s very good!
Yes, I tried one earlier, very good.

We just like you. You are enough!
In our 60's.
The reason I added the music there was I'd left the radio on. Besides, we can't keep talking when I'm driving - it's distracting!
