    Thank you for the video! I'm debating on if I want to change my ceiling fan for a light fixture to go with an industrial decor style I'm trying for my apartment. And that too is assuming my apartment allows me to. There were a few additional questions in the comments about grounding wires and as the comment section isn't that big, would you consider perhaps responding to a few to help give a little more details? I'm an absolute novice to this and don't want to risk burning the building down and I'm going to assume it's much the same for others, lol.

    My ceiling fan has a three way switch for lighting and a separate switch to control the fan. I'm Replacing it with a new light fixture and I want to repurpose the fan switch to control my new bar lights. Would it be appropriate to run new 14 2 wires to replace the existing 14 3 wires that powered the ceiling fan, or simply cap off the red wire in the ceiling fan junction box and run a new 14 2 line from the switch to the bar lights?

      In my situation, I live in an older house (early 1980s) and we're currently making renovations. Instead of me replacing the old-fashioned ceiling fan for a brand new one, I rather just have a light. Fans collect too much dust anyway and old houses don't really have much insulation. I end up being either too hot or too cold in my room but hey, the house is paid off so I'm not complaining. I love ceiling fans but in my current living situation (millennial college student living with my parents), there's really no need for one. A tower fan works just fine.

    • @CeilingFanVideosOnYT
      @CeilingFanVideosOnYT Рік тому

      Fan collecting dust may actually be a good thing. It does NOT increase amount of dusts created, and it makes it easier to throw dust out. It's easy to move dust from ceiling fan to trash bag, but it's hard to move dust from air to trash bag. So it's really subtracting dust in air and anything you touch combined.
