I think the "anti-toner" trend is so misguided. Toner has made a HUGE difference in both my hydration AND my acne, so it's good to hear some science-backed praise for toner!❤️
Right? Back then it really was just to bring back the PH balance of your skin. But now there are a lot of new toners with active ingredients. Also I'm seeing so many people who are against toners but still use essences when they're basically the same thing...
@@sobean9309 Herbivore’s Jasmine Green Tea Toner works the best for my skin. Some other good toners are the Neogen Real Ferment Micro Essence, Glow Recipe PHA+BHA Toner, I’m From Rice Toner. I really condensed my routine after some research and beauty within. My previous routine had been Oil cleanse, gel cleanse, toner, serum, gel cream, moisturiser and oil once a day. Moisturiser and SPF in morning. Now it’s just using a cream cleanser, laneige skin refiner and Vaseline if my skin is having a little break out at night time. In the morning I use the la roshe posay dermo cleanser, so so hydrating, I layer my toner a bit more and finally more moisture with the sensitive skin spf from la roshe posay. Let’s just say less is more and I’m thanking BeautyWithin ☺️
I like the idea of spf in different layers and steps on skincare. I always find wearing the recommended amount to be too much to wear alone. Layering a serum and moisturiser with spf and then an elegant amount of sunscreen sounds more like what I’d do on a daily basis
Skin type : normal to dry, non-sensitive, sometimes reactive, doing skincare since I was 12 (I'm 24 now) 1. Cleanser : I stopped using cleansing soap in the morning 3-4 years ago, only using water or cleansing toner if necessary. I stopped having acne ever since (maybe only 1-3 times a year and only one spot each time but bc i skipped skin care routine) because my acne was from dehydration (my skin was super dry). 2. Toner : I love toner, I use toner since the beginning of my skin care routine. My skin is sometimes dry and flaky after cleansing (especially during winter) and the 'prepping' the skin works for my skin so I do it. I do think it depends on your skin type and preference. 3. Serum : I use a hydration serum every single day since I was 15, I use active ingredients serums (vit c mostly) occasionally, but I make sure I only use one serum when using them. I avoid mixing things if not necessary. 4. Moisturizer : used since the start. I have dry skin but i hate sticky oily thick cream. Now I use hydrating gel cream in the morning and moisturizing cream at night. 5. Sunscreen : no comment. Since baby probably. Current skin concern : only scared and worried about wrinkles and anti aging 😅 oh and I scratch my face a lot so even tho I don't have acne I have scratch scars 😭 My advice is ofc find a routine and products that works for you, not just on short term but long term.
I never understood why people wash their face first thing in the morning. Do you sleep in a dirty bed lmao? If you wash your face before you go to bed, it should still be relatively clean in the morning.
I feel like washing with just water itself dries my skin out, but toning keeps it balanced My routine is CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, Laneige Cream Skin Refiner, Krave Beauty Great Barrier Relief, La Roche Posay Toleriane Sensitive - my skin is super dry so I need all that hydration - then Biore Aqua Rich or Ultra Violette Supreme Screen
It would be better to use an essence-toner hybrid to get the benefits of a serum than to use a serum every now again. Most serums have rather short shelf-lives too
Could you guys do a video about skincare and keeping clean while camping?? Camping is fun but it’s really hard to keep you skin care up because you can’t take many products.
Please correct me if I am wrong. Isn't it counter productive if you use micellar or cleansing water in the morning because they still leave you with this sticky residue/film on top of your face, and you need to rinse it off with foaming cleanser eventually before doing the rest of your skincare routine?
Personally if I use micellar water in the morning, I would rinse with water as I don't want to leave surfactants on my face all day. I'm not sure about cleansing water as I'm not too familiar with those or if they are any different from micellar water.
You don't need a cleanser to remove your micellar water in the morning. Just use water. Micellar water has surfactant that still needs to be removed from the skin but since it only has the products you used last night and maybe some dirt, it's not as bad as melted make-up.
@@calico_queen8976 thank you for clarifying that out! Because based on my experience sometimes water is not enough to guarantee that my skin is clear from the residue of micellar water. I am glad that it works for someone else tho 😁
SPF is hard to find for men. As much as people don't want to hear it there is a difference between male and female skin. I wish you would do more videos for your male audience.
Skincare has no gender. Male and female skin are quite different but that doesn't mean is required specific products for every gender. At the end of the day what's important is finding your skin type and conserns and find the right products that work for you and based on your needs and preferences. If you struggle finding SPF because of the texture I recommend you using Chemimal sunscreens because they tend to be more lighter textures without greasy feeling. If you don't like chemical filters you can use mineral ones but keep in mind that if you don't wanna have a white cast you must use a tinted one.

Hi, I’m not the person you asked but since it’s been two weeks: let me help you out with the sunscreen question. The answer is yes! There are different types of sun rays. There is UVA and UVB. UVB is the type that will Burn your skin (hence the B). UVA is the type that wel Age your skin (hence the A) UVB is not always around only when the sun is fully out. UVA is always around. When it’s cloudy, when it’s raining, when you’re in your home; it’s there. Sunscreen protects against UVA and UVB so always use sunscreen to protect against premature ageing! Hope this helps!

I would suggest something hydrating and soothing like the Purito Unscented Centella Toner but use it the morning after, you shouldn’t apply Vitamin A products (like Retinol and Tretinoin) to damp skin because it increases irritation. If your not using vit a definitely layer the hydration! ❤️
The moment I saw the new Supergoop product launched @ Sephora I got sooo excited! I literally said this to myself too “ how come no one has thought of it ages ago “ It’s such a brilliant idea ! I’m getting it for sure ! Fel your skin looks soooo glowing ! 🤩❤️💖🎈

Yes, to get the spf on the bottle you have to use a lot of moisturizer which you probably aren’t using, using about two-three finger lengths of actual sunscreen is best at forming a protective layer and giving the best sun defense.
I don’t understand why sunscreen is so important.. any opinions help. I live in Canada and we only have about 3 sunny months. Regardless for someone who works inside, I rarely am out in the sun, so I why would I need sunscreen during these times ???
if vitamin c is instantly rendered useless shouldnt it become instantly useless as it comes in contact with the sun in the bottle??? or rather as you apply it
I need help like anyone. I bout a salicylic acid serum thinking oh I have blackheads this will be great. Saw the ingredients and it has witch hazel denatured alcohol and fragrance like should I still use it????
After applying toner do I wait for it to dry before applying my serum? Then once the serum drys do I wait for it to dry before applying the lotion? Please answer 🙏🏽
I stopped cleansing my face in the morning about two months ago. All I do is rinse my face off with water. I haven’t noticed a difference, but it at least makes my morning routine quicker. I do want to try the new Fresh Kombucha Cleansing Treatment, though.
Yes because UVA penetrates through everything. You may not see or feel the direct sunlight (UVB) but the rays are still there and will damage your skin if you do not wear spf.
Supergoop mate unseen made my dace and neck so dry. I will exchange it for another supergoop hopefully that helps. Also I been using for the entire 2020 The Ordinary ascorbic acid in combination with the Ferulic acid almost every morning before sunscreen. I really like the results from it. Can that be combined with supergoop vit C spf it that is just too much? Thank you ladies.
Vitamin C mixed with SPF. Brilliant formulation? And $46 for 1oz? You can protect your layer of Vitamin C that cost you $14 with SPF you can get 3oz for $10. I admire you girls and you have taught me so much about skin care and ethics in the skin care industry so I'm surprised you're featuring a brand that sells 1oz of Vitamin C mixed with SPF for $46. Vitamin C has a low PH and goes on in the beginning whereas SPF is the last step so you'll still need a moisturizer and more SPF before going out unless you use the whole 1oz of product as SPF but for $46? Who wants to do that. 😏😏😏
I don’t wash my face in the morning. I’ll use a hot towel cuz it feels good and to wipe sleep from my eyes. In the summer, I might wash depending on how my skin feels, like if I’m oily, but def not in the winter since my skin is super dry when it’s cold.
Hi ladies!! I am curious your thoughts on chemical sunscreen....I watched, and loved the video with Supergoop . I have mixed feelings as I often hear that chemical SPF's aren't that "safe" for skin...can you advise? I was SO intrigued by her information. I LOVE your channels so much, and value your opinions. Thanks, Debbi
that thing about sunprotection at about minute 14 is just wrong. sunscreen effect is calculated at a specific amount per square cm and needs to be in a uniform layer
Is double cleansing always with an oil cleanser? I use the garnier mirecellar water for taking of makeup, spf and dirt and after I go in with the la mer cleansing gel with a foreo face brush 🤷🏽♀️ so do I also do double cleansing?
Also can you ladies do a video on BIORE products especially their new line of Jelly cleanser with lemon and ginseng...I have been using this cleanser and OMG IT BRIGHTENS UP MY SKIN SO Good...infact it is also listed on the cleanser tube that it brightens skin in a week. Which it truly does it's a magic cleanser!!! 👍👍👍👍
@@sobean9309 If you use like really strong prescriptions (which most people don't) with sensitive skin then you should with a very gentle milky cleanser.
It’s actually much worse to use a micellar water in the am if you don’t wash it off. They’ve got surfactants in them which will continue to work on your skin and can dry it out. Better to use just regular water.
My routine: 1. Wash face with water 2. cleansing gel 3. wash my face again with water 4. toner 5. moisturizer 6. sunscreen I repeat this twice in the day, except that at night I don’t use sunscreen.
I tried not cleansing in the morning, but it just feels weird and I think it made my skin worse. But I know my face isn't that dirty in the morning since I just cleansed at night. So what I do is shorten the time instead. I cleanse my face for about 10 sec in the morning instead of the recommended 30-60 sec.
i suck at skincare because i never really had alot of acne aside from redness on my cheeks and chin and a moderately oily t-zone. so ive been trying to at least wash my face with plain water and apply a green tinted moisturizer with spf in it. if i wear makeup i do obviously wash it off with a proper make up remover in the evening and finish with moisturiser but otherwise i just wash with plain water (and moisturiser :P)
So would I put my moisture before the superfood vitamin c sunscreen? I want to make sure I’m doing it right and getting all the vitamin c absorption and benefits for my skin care routine.

Also absolutely love your vids Ro & Fel you guys made my 2020 ❤️❤️❤️.
I think it's the granactive retinoids 2%
can someone give me an afforadable sunscreen? I tried cerave’s moisturizing spf but it peels/pills off.
Michelle Phan has a video of some sunscreen that are affordable, missha all around safe block is a good one too
You guys should turn on the closed captions for you deaf viewers
Touch the cc at the top of the video
Awwah. Nm. None on this video. Sry
If your moisturizer has sunscreen already in it do you need a step of another sunscreen
Yes, to get the spf on the bottle you have to use a lot of moisturizer which you probably aren’t using, using about two-three finger lengths of actual sunscreen is best at forming a protective layer and giving the best sun defense.
First I think lol I love you guys sm
Rowena is looking so old on this video, maybe the hairstyle and aunty outfit
Hey ladies!! Hope you both had a great Christmas and wish you both the very best for 2021. Thanks for your amazing content as always 🎉💕🎉💕🎉💕
I don’t understand why sunscreen is so important.. any opinions help. I live in Canada and we only have about 3 sunny months. Regardless for someone who works inside, I rarely am out in the sun, so I why would I need sunscreen during these times ???
you are both so interesting me and rowena have the same skin type
Beautiful girls 💖😘 Thank you so much.
if vitamin c is instantly rendered useless shouldnt it become instantly useless as it comes in contact with the sun in the bottle??? or rather as you apply it
How would sun get in the bottle?
@@jimmyz.6956 well if the bottle is not tinted/ has uv filter
Girl I was just thinking do i need all these steps then check my youtube and BAM
Lol this supergoop isn’t the first sunscreen serum tho!
So happy while watching and excited but broke!!
I do want to try the new Fresh Kombucha Cleansing Treatment, though.
should i wear sunscreen if i stay at home all day? there’s sunlight coming through the window in my room
A lot of people especially them would probably say yes❣
Yes cause UVA can still penetrate through windows but I don't reapply unless I'm outside in direct sunlight.
Yes. Even though the UV might not be enough to burn, you get cumulative photodamage over the long term. Check out Dr Dray or LabMuffin for more.
Yes because UVA penetrates through everything. You may not see or feel the direct sunlight (UVB) but the rays are still there and will damage your skin if you do not wear spf.
Thank you for always taking the time to list all the products mentioned ❤️
Supergoop mate unseen made my dace and neck so dry. I will exchange it for another supergoop hopefully that helps. Also I been using for the entire 2020 The Ordinary ascorbic acid in combination with the Ferulic acid almost every morning before sunscreen. I really like the results from it. Can that be combined with supergoop vit C spf it that is just too much? Thank you ladies.
Mine includes
Am:
Face wash
Toner
Vit c
Moisturizer
Sunblock
Pm:
Oil cleanser
Foam cleanser
Toner
Serum (vit c/retinol/niacinamide depends)
Moisturizer
Sleep 😴
I have oily skin and I tried the only cleansing at night, I would break out. I hardly ever wear makeup because I break out if I wear foundation.
U girls r so amazing. I just luv u both. Thank u for everything u do.
Toner pad helped with my acne problem! I'd skip cleansing in the am but never the toner pad!
I don’t wash my face in the morning. I’ll use a hot towel cuz it feels good and to wipe sleep from my eyes. In the summer, I might wash depending on how my skin feels, like if I’m oily, but def not in the winter since my skin is super dry when it’s cold.
I wonder what their closets look like? Like do they have all these products and interchange them?
Would love a naturium products review
Currently, cleanse (double if apply sunscreen), serum/adapalene, moisturizer (mixed with serum),.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
that thing about sunprotection at about minute 14 is just wrong. sunscreen effect is calculated at a specific amount per square cm and needs to be in a uniform layer
Is double cleansing always with an oil cleanser? I use the garnier mirecellar water for taking of makeup, spf and dirt and after I go in with the la mer cleansing gel with a foreo face brush 🤷🏽♀️ so do I also do double cleansing?
I have a question can I use the mandelic acid 5% skin prep water with the ordinary hyaluronic acid and niacinamide 10% zinc 1% at nighttime?
Also can you ladies do a video on BIORE products especially their new line of Jelly cleanser with lemon and ginseng...I have been using this cleanser and OMG IT BRIGHTENS UP MY SKIN SO Good...infact it is also listed on the cleanser tube that it brightens skin in a week. Which it truly does it's a magic cleanser!!! 👍👍👍👍
A dermatologist said you should cleanse all the active ingredients before any exposure to uvrays.
So you should always cleanse in the morning? I thought the actives are already deep down in your skin from the evening before
@@sobean9309 If you use like really strong prescriptions (which most people don't) with sensitive skin then you should with a very gentle milky cleanser.
Sorry but I’m still lost on what a toner and a serum are, how to figure out my skin type and skin issues, and when should I apply what.
It’s actually much worse to use a micellar water in the am if you don’t wash it off. They’ve got surfactants in them which will continue to work on your skin and can dry it out. Better to use just regular water.
My routine:
1. Wash face with water
2. cleansing gel
3. wash my face again with water
4. toner
5. moisturizer
6. sunscreen
I repeat this twice in the day, except that at night I don’t use sunscreen.
Hi beauties!
So would I put my moisture before the superfood vitamin c sunscreen? I want to make sure I’m doing it right and getting all the vitamin c absorption and benefits for my skin care routine.
You guys have recommended Hundreds of serums and now we don't Really need them for better skin? I'm pretty you need to use a serum consistantly to see results so once a week isn't doing Anything for your skin
Who is ready for clear skin in 2021?! 😍🙋🏼♀️ Happy new year guys!! 💞🎉
I love your videos so much!
