I think it's just lore accurate that the Iron Giant eats the sentry gun, he's a robot that despises the idea of being used as a weapon and so he eats another robot used as a weapon.
Just today I thought: "It's been a while since I've heard anything about mimi-sentry, the seal has completely swallowed up people" and I stumble upon this masterpiece. Without bullshit, this is the best animation about her in my memory, and maybe in general. The movements are perfectly animated, the frame rate is high, most of the animations about mimi-sentry are more like shitposts, compared to them this is a breath of fresh air.
This is studio-level polish. I like the flashing light when she gets an idea. The shadows changing as time passes, the little stumble as she hops off IG's hand. The characters are really expressive in all your animations.

I like how Mimi acted more-or-less like Hogarth did when he met the Giant for the first time. Also the Engie just shrugging off a giant metal beast like it's no big deal 😆😆😆
Actually it's because I used that scene with Hogarth from the movie as animation reference for her movements when she is on the ground! The engie part was my brothers idea, and it turned out so much better than I thought.
Practical Problems, practical concerns, enemy sentry is down, his sentry still up, he's probably holding a lvl 3 dispenser, and his teammates are getting shot at. Far as he's concerned everything there is a ok lol.

A little detail i noticed is that you can hear another engineer (probaly blu engineer) screaming "sentry down!" from afar in 1:20 when the Giant eat the sentry Good animation with a lot details, nice!

As an Iron Giant fan, as soon as I heard the faint sound of metallic footsteps, one thought came to mind: “Iron Giant.” This brought me back so much nostalgia, so much in fact, that in made me rewatch the entire movie again. When I rewatched the movie, every second of it made me feel like I was a kid again, but even though I’m a teenager, I still enjoyed every second of it! I am so glad that there are still people out there in our modern society that hasn’t forgotten about this, lovable, kind hearted, alien super weapon of a robot.
This was just thoroughly great. Glad to see Mimi Sentry’s still getting good attention. Between the models and the animations that have come out prior to this (not counting any unhealthy ones featuring weirdly focused abuse or forced innuendos), Mimi has a lot of potential for use. It would be a shame if all that went to waste by people leaving her model to collect dust in the Steam Workshop.
Dude oh my god I absolutely love this! The character animation, detail, the little additions to her model like normal mapping and hair physics, the interactions, sound, are all on point! They left it on a cliffhanger where Iron Giant is still alive and is regaining all of his pieces. I've been getting into Team Fortress 2 lately, and seeing an animation combining it and one of my favourite movies ever made put such a huge smile on my face! Pretty sure the "gap" between the events of The Iron Giant and Team Fortress 2 is only a couple decades at most, so now I'm curious to see more of this Epic Crossover.

Finally a tf2 animation in Blender, I know how to import SFM files to blender and I know how to animate, but I'm too lazy. The details and smoothness of the animation are insane dude, this is awesome.

Thank you! I'll be honest trying to fix the rig after adding the transforming bit was an absolute pain, but it worked in the end.
Dont forget the reverb fart sound effect and the scout repeating "need a dispenser here" over and over in the background. It all adds to the realism
