- We got this Greenhouse in November,2022 from Costco.com. It is made by Yardistry, and so far I am really enjoying it. I have a playlist where I show the initial set up and what it looks like now and how I am using it. Many of you watched my update video and had questions, but also seemed interested in buying it, so I want to share that setting it up came with some challenges, which I share in this video.
btw, here is the update video that many of you liked

In the video I mentioned another UA-camr,
@ourbackyardgarden and wanted to link her playlist as well, where she documents her experiences with setting up the same Greenhouse

And while you are there, check out her other videos as well! She has a wonderful channel!

$1,399 paid in Costco. Two 200 pound boxes that just fit in my pickup truck. 90 page, detailed assembly manual. Took 2 people 2 days after I first put in a 4x4 based which is fastened to the ground with rebar rods.
Yeah, sounds like how long we took with hubby and son working on it (I tried to help!). Are you liking it so far?
@@GreenLove1 I’m loving how it looks, having said that, it is now late June and over 110° inside the greenhouse. What could I possibly grow in there during the summer?
@@jayr.taylor210 I have converted my greenhouse into a succulent house for summer. Also, I did locate it under a large Oak tree to shade it a bit during summer. I leave the doors open all the time. We have not hit high temps yet in California so this is new for me as well, learning as I go!
Cannabis will grow fine in that weather :)
@@jayr.taylor210
@jayr.taylor210 You can try and combat the heat with 30% aluminet shade cloth and adding a portable evaporative cooler with hose hookup. I would personally consider custum retro fitting intake/outake greenhouse fan.
Very nice of you to share the problems too
Thanks, overall I love it, but there were some minor items that might be more significant to some.
We have those lock/latches on our gates to keep our animals in. If you don’t want it to move off the post accidentally then use a carabiner to keep it in place. It works great!
That is SUCH a great idea! Thanks! That will take away an unnecessary level of stress, much appreciated!!!
You’re correct it’s not the most straightforward thing to put together. My brother professes to be handy but even with a helper he struggled. Had I known it would be this challenging I may not have purchased it. One other thing Leigh from my backyard garden mentioned in one of her videos. Is that her greenhouse leaked badly enough that she had to bring some of her seedlings inside during some very rainy weather. Even after putting silicone in some of the openings. And she also stated she has made the company aware to address these problems. As of this writing my greenhouse isn’t quite completed yet. But I’m anticipating leaking and I’m anxious about (even though we’re going to tie it down as securely as possible) how it will hold up in a strong windstorm which we sometime get in my area.
Hi Connie, yes, I know Leigh through UA-cam, and she had a lot of problems with the Greenhouse, bent panels, door issues, the vent did not fit etc etc...I do believe she got a bad piece. Mine did not have problems with too much leaking - and we had historic rains this year. As for winds, we do not have as much, so can't speak to that. Would love to hear your experience...please update if you can. And thanks for your thoughts and your comment.
My wife and I just put one of these together (OK we haven't yet put in the shelves or the door, but the rest is 100% done. I wouldn't say construction was "easy" but between watching the video and reading the instructions carefully, multiple times, we were able to figure everything out. The only thing that didn't work right away was the vent panel stuck - we sanded a few piece down and voila! it worked well. All the components arrived in good condition.
With full acknowledgement that we are NOT yet finished and we haven't even tried to grow anything in it, I am very happy with this greenhouse
@LeeAmon-vf3bi completely agree with your assessment of level of difficulty - I am lucky that my husband and son are good at fixing the little things that went wrong, particularly the vent - I know some people just gave up on it, but it's really one of the most important features of this greenhouse IMO. Glad you got it to work. I am sure you are going to LOVE it!!
I set mine up last weekend. I love it, but the thing I noticed is the wood is very soft. I think it would be easy to snap, or break. Fortunately that shouldn’t become a problem. If you live in a windy area I would suggest anchoring it down. I could imagine a windy storm could lift it enough to cause some damage. Great video.
Yes, strong anchorimg is important if you live in a place with strong winds! Thanks for the tip!
Well done my friend and thank you for the mentions!! All very accurate. We are about to post shortly, you will get the tag!! Hugs!!
Learned a lot from you, thank you!!!

Great video thank you so much for sharing!!!! I am subscribing!
Thanks so much for subscribing!💚
I just finished mine. I procrastinated with mine please try to build it as soon as possible. You will run into problems if you dont read directions. Its also very heavy. And you will need a platform. Screw carefully because the wood will crack.
Great tips, thanks!!
I have watched numerous videos on this greenhouse and that ceiling hatch doesn't work for anyone. Thank you for the tips!!
Thank goodness my husband is so handy - he made it work, and frankly, I can't imagine being without it!
They all seem to be $1389. That's what I paid also. Brought it home in my Tesla Model X. Took it out of the box.
$1199.99 on sale now (8/30/23)
Yep, and free shipping too. Lowest price I have seen, in store or online.
@@GreenLove1 Mine just arrived 9/8.
@@burningmanmike yay!!!
How hard would it be to stick a tampon or short pencil or other item into the left hand tube part? Have it attached by a strong pc of twine. Or just change the darned lock or use a potted plant to keep the door open2 inches. So many ways to solve this non problem. When I built my henhouse i installed a hook & eye on the face of the doorcasing...the hook being long enough so that when I was in there there would be a solid crack to allow in air but no allow hens out or thieving chipmunks in. More my style than the potted plant but same result.
I deed lots of ways thank for all the suggestions - time I did something about it
Adding some weight to that latch should help.
Great suggestion. I am hearing more and more stories of people getting locked in. I am going to provide this feedback to Yardistry.
Just change out the lock to a regular door knob
Great idea!!
So, greenhouses are not for dummies, sums up this video.
Lol, I did not say that, but I am certainly a dummy when it comes to building things, and I do appreciate the skills of my husband and son, who do all the heavy lifting (literally and figuratively). I am good at fetching tools though !!!
@@GreenLove1 I confirm that you did not say that, I did. Being handy and from a farm-family background, I find most videos that cover "product hiccups" to be trivial to me. We are looking into this greenhouse at Costco advertised for $1,199.00 plus tax.
@@jimw1615 I am sure you'll love it! It's a great price too!
I cant find it online at ours!
Yeah sorry they have not been selling it online for a couple of months now, however I have seen it in stores. You might want to ask your local Costco associate if it's possible to special order it for you and get it into the store or have it delivered.
You're so beautiful, I really enjoyed watching this
Aw, you are too kind, thanks! And glad you liked the video!
Was yours covered in some odd plastic like shards when you opened the box?
Don't remember plastic shards, hmm, did something break in it?
You latch is backwards. Your supposed to be able to lock the door closed with a pad lock and if you put a pad lock on yours your locking it unlocked. Lol. Take it off and rotate 180 degrees and you will never be able to lock yourself in. Haha
Are you serious, oh my gosh, if that's the case, my husband is not going to live that one down 😭😁!!!
@@GreenLove1 you can’t knock him for building it we all make little mistakes every now and then.
@@MrSteveBD so true.
