The fact David went out and showed us the photos and videos got me giggling like an idiot, as i was reminded of watching my families stupid shenanigans on old cameras we find during cleaning up. 1970s Worked on construction ground work pick and shovel graft for Wimpey in UK , but it was a pleasure because of all the Irish guys, we never stopped laughing ,most of them were naturally funny not always consciously , the few pints we had on the way home led to more laughter .Hard work ,hard men good work mates . Ever since I met a blue-eyed, high-cheek-boned Irish-Cherokee lass in Ohio in 1974 I've been saying that the Irish didn't discriminate here in the US. So glad to see that theme taken up and so brilliantly elaborated by David Nihill. Good shagging to you!

😂 I love that you brought evidence to support all of the stories you told tonight. That was brilliant and wholly unexpected. You're absolutely fantastic.
As an Irish exPat living in the US for over 40 years to me he hit it out of the park. He’s a wonderful story teller with amazing perception and razor sharp wit. Haven’t laughed this much in ages. Most of my friends here are Latino and I’ve already shared his video with some of them. I’ve always said that if you shake any family tree an Irish man or woman will fall out of it.
This is high-larious because my husband is Mexican, and I am nearly half Irish. It goes without saying that the opening of this special is quite poignant to my life and that of our kids.
I just returned from a 2 week trip to Ireland. He represents the tenor of the Irish people generally, never taking themselves too seriously and always enjoying a good laugh. Great special. I’ll be looking for him when he comes to Boston.
Insanely good! The way he ties in all of his stories is amazing because by the end of it you feel like you have an inside joke with him. Love this David, thank you for making it so easily accessible ❤
Oh, this is straight up like being with my mother. She always use to say, "Well, to make a short story even longer," and off we go for a two hour plus, story-time because I suffer the same gift o' gab as her. And, yes, her heritage is right out of Swords, Ireland. You made my day, tears of laughter, and a warmth in my heart.
A perfect example of our gift of the gab. I felt like I was in the pub, a few drinks in and just chatting with whoever was there (cause it's always someone who worked with your Da or went out with your cousin or actually IS your cousin and you had no clue) stories that are seemingly different all meld together into the one thing because we really ARE just telling the one story, we just take the scenic route 🤷🤣 A great Irish comedian in the long line of great Irish comedians ! Thanks a million for posting this David, thoroughly enjoyed it and laughed me arse off 🤣🤣🤣
I knew all the stories were true; there's no way anyone could memorize that amount of material and talk so fast at the same time otherwise. Well done! Made me proud to be 1/4 Irish and Canadian. 🍀❤🥳
Thank you Dave! I am an Argentine, half Spanish, quarter English quarter Irish with half German kids. I loved the show. Mixing is what gives life. Is what keeps things happening in the universe. As a person who just got back my ancestry DNA results, I can confirm that the Irish are always there, and for me from both parents which was not expected
last names are never a good basis to track your ancestry. Adoptions, single moms, etc. Only constant with mankind, is that there is always something unexpected.

Salt Lake City is considered very Leftie to Utahns. To me, it's barely Leftie. Same with Billings, Boise & Cheyenne.
In NY, I'm from Buffalo/Niagara Falls & Staten Island. I've been to Toronto many times & used to watch CBC living in WNY. You probably know abt my burb town in WNY. 💕
George Carlin had to be Irish
... and from 🇨🇭 learning english...
Who is this man😂😂. Please come to Austin.
Credit natural comedian 🎉
One of the funniest comedy shows I've seen in a while. The fact David went out and showed us the photos and videos got me giggling like an idiot, as i was reminded of watching my families stupid shenanigans on old cameras we find during cleaning up. Being deslexic, as well, I relate to so many of the blanders his been through. May all people by as wholesome and true hearted as you David!
Very kind words much appreciated 🙌
Hilarious!! Hope I can find more of him on line... and now I have to go to Ireland
Me to😂 loved the photos at the end😂
1970s Worked on construction ground work pick and shovel graft for Wimpey in UK , but it was a pleasure because of all the Irish guys, we never stopped laughing ,most of them were naturally funny not always consciously , the few pints we had on the way home led to more laughter .Hard work ,hard men good work mates . David's humour reminded me of them ,thanks.
I’m only surprised he hasn’t been evicted yet? He’s fearless and utterly funny. And he points all the fingers to all the places where it hurts most. I love that man.
Super hyped about this. Thanks for putting the full special online for free!
Great show! I'm Irish and Cherokee on both sides and visiting Ireland is on my bucket list.
I'm SO GLAD you posted this for us, in its entirety, completely free of charge!
You're the best!
I appreciate the timely nature of your topical current event humor!
This fellow should be an ambassador to the world...his positivity is infectious. His comedy is impactful and honestly FUNNY. Oddly, I have never heard of him...and I hope that changes for the better. We certainly need more bright thinkers
He seems VERY compliant with 🌈
Yes I agree I think he's wonderful
I live about 50 miles from San Patricio, New Mexico. This is not fiction. I hope that one day David Nihill will preform close to so NM so I can go and see him live.
David, I am half Russian and half Ukrainian living in Australia, singing with an Irish dancing show... Whew. Thanks for making my travel day between locations so much shorter! Have fun on tour :)
By far one of the best stand up shows I’ve seen in the last decade, at least. Such great comedy was only topped off by your great humanity. I am not religious, but God bless the Irish especially you and your wonderful family. You did not only make me laugh out loud, but you touched my heart. Thank you David, I wish you nothing less than utmost success.
Thanks a million! Way too kind words much appreciated!
As a German, I enjoyed that a lot! Keep it going, I love the authenticity!
I was there and I still can’t wait to rewatch this. Comedy Gold!!
Dublin! And thanks for the kind words!
Me too - I laughed SO hard throughout the show and seeing it again here, still loved it, it didn't lose a thing!
The great thing about UA-cam is, you don't have to wait!
@@davidnihill1I’m from america ( Los Angeles ) and I had to wait to comment bcoz I laughed so hard I nearly SHART myself while watching this the first time
Hello, David's team. Could you please let him know this special was brilliantly written and is a true work of art. I hope to see him live some day.
Kind regards
With that amount of callbacks and compliments I might have to get you to write it :). Thanks for the kind words! David's Team. (aka, David)
Dave you're just awesome. I'm Moroccan and turns out Irish and Moroccan people share a lot in common 😂
Great comedy sire.. way to go 👏🔥
@DavidNihill1 Esteemed Mr. David Nihill, I extend my sincere respect and appreciation to you for your BRILLIANT humor and for representing Éire in such an authentic and heartwarming fashion! Your blend of self-deprecating, intellectual, fun-loving, inclusive, real-life, timely humour is greatly needed. Thank you for existing Kind Sir! Go raibh maith agat!
Thanks a million! Much appreciated and Kind Regards ;)
@@davidnihill1 didn’t spell it with a T this time good job.
His voice, delivery, facial expressions (mouth and eyebrows) and accent are just great! You could listen to him for hours!
It is so refreshing to see a comedian who backs up the stories with pictures and a video. Not sure if other comedians do it, but I’ve never seen it.
😂
I love that you brought evidence to support all of the stories you told tonight. That was brilliant and wholly unexpected. You're absolutely fantastic.
That man brought the receipts lmao
I've seen so many clips from this special, It never occurred to me that I should just look for the whole special. Absolutely worth it!
Thanks a million. Kind words much appreciated 🙌
I have got to admit, you are one of the best damn comedians that I've watched in a while
Scratches a Carlin sized itch i've been missing, personally, bravo.
Thanks!
This is high-larious because my husband is Mexican, and I am nearly half Irish. It goes without saying that the opening of this special is quite poignant to my life and that of our kids.
David is an Irish, American,Mexican, treasure - I love the Irish brogue and his comedy is so fresh and funny 😁 Keep up the great work Mr. Nihil 🎉
A year later this is still the most intelligent, well delivered comedy sketch I've ever seen. Where is this guy now?
Thanks a million. Kind words much appreciated 🙌! On holidays now but mostly on tour! Do come see a show. All dates and info here: davidnihill.com
This is definitely George Carlin vibes! Brilliant
I just returned from a 2 week trip to Ireland. He represents the tenor of the Irish people generally, never taking themselves too seriously and always enjoying a good laugh. Great special. I’ll be looking for him when he comes to Boston.
Comedy with evidence. Dave, you are a genius.
One of the most original comedians I’ve seen. Very enjoyable.
Great show !!🎉😂
This is one of the best comedy shows I've ever seen. The world should be full of cultural appreciation. Also, the evidence was the cherry on top
Insanely good! The way he ties in all of his stories is amazing because by the end of it you feel like you have an inside joke with him. Love this David, thank you for making it so easily accessible ❤
Thanks a million! Regards ;)
Absolutely brilliant. Love how he weaves a story of current events and history.
I felt like I was in the pub, a few drinks in and just chatting with whoever was there (cause it's always someone who worked with your Da or went out with your cousin or actually IS your cousin and you had no clue) stories that are seemingly different all meld together into the one thing because we really ARE just telling the one story, we just take the scenic route 🤷🤣
A great Irish comedian in the long line of great Irish comedians ! Thanks a million for posting this David, thoroughly enjoyed it and laughed me arse off 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for the very kind words, much appreciated!
Thank you for telling us to embrace it. I will definitively use the term “cultural appreciation” whenever I have the chance.
Argentine with half German kids... suspicious lol 😆
@@MrFlakko30 go away and play with your stereotypes
@@janelliot5643The math don't compute.🙄🤔
I worked with a lady in college who was dyslexic and it warms my soul to think how much she would appreciate this comedy.
This is my new favorite comedian and human.
As a proud Afro-Irish adopted citizen of Ireland for 23 years - thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Most enjoyable, witty and thoughtful comedy I have watched in a very long time.
Oh yes - and can I say Afro-Irish? Yes! White skin…. Black bootie! 😊
Nice! Many thanks for the kind words
He's become one of my favorite comedains......😃. Great comedains see the life in a different light and bring us to that light, they are philosophers with a sense of humor. Thank you..
🙌
It's true, my wife is Irish and I'm east African. Her great aunt left me a house in County Galway and her dad taught me to play the bodhrán so I could join in the village Irish music band. We take turns to play at weddings, school events, village fetes, and summer village picnics.
1/2 Irish+1/2 Nicaraguan here! I love this so much literally made my day
Me: I'll watch this for a couple of minutes. 1:13:25 minutes later, my cheeks are sore from so much smiling and my abs are tender from so much belly laughing. Brilliant! Thank you!
everytime I find a special of you, whether it's just a short clip or a full special, you ABSOLUTELY CRACK ME UP and I love the digs you slip into your stories. You are brilliant! Keep them coming!
Australian living in Australia and I think you're absolutely brilliant. So glad you got over your fear of public speaking. Can't wait to see what you do next. 👍👍👍
Thanks a million!
My Sister went all over Europe and she said the Irish absolutely were the sincerely nicest people. I'm American & yes I am part Irish, English, Scottish & Welsh and many other things but I love being Irish the most out of those 4.💚 This special made me laugh so hard my eyes watered. It's really brilliant.
You are so funny and it made me laugh so hard, so witty. I'm a Swede living in Ireland, in Co.Meath for 20 years and married to an Irishman. i showed him this and he laughed too. So much made so much sense. Thank you for clarifying the Irish people for me. Also not many bad words and feck is not a swear word as far as i know but i could be wrong. Keep up the funny work you are amazing.
Lucky lady. I met a block layer / mason on building site in Offaly in 2024. He said he had just come back from Sweden😂
Umm, yeah. Feck is indeed a cuss word. His mother would be awfully upset if he said it as a kid.
All the best elements! Awesome show. Thanks for uploading. Netflix needs David Nihill!
I love how humor just unites us like this. It's a thing of beauty.
I don't usually watch a lot of standup comedy cause I usually end up getting bored after a little while and switching to something else. I watched this full thing and enjoyed it. Thanks Dave, from a fellow Irish person :)
As an irishman from Mayo, you're an amazing comedian! Don't stop making people laugh
Wssb. ,
My Mom was from Mayo
Up Mayo!
I watched it a lot of times now and I have to say this is one of best ever put together comedy specials I have ever seen. Congratulations. Love it. Please give us more of this
Thanks a million
@@davidnihill1 that's great you really answer. 😅 I love it. I'm from Nuremberg Germany and happened to work with a Irish boss for ten years in construction. I absolutely love the stuff you put out. Please keep doing it. You always make my day. Thx for that. Have a great day.
Yes yes!!!my new favorite!
Lmao! Am from PR and my husband is Irish-American…. I LOVE this guy!!!
What a storyteller! Laying the ground work in one part, and then surprise, drop it in another! It's a classic technique, and David pulls it off with ease. Keep it up man!!👍👏
First time listening to David Nihill and this is easily my favourite comedy special in a couple years.
Well done lad!
Same!
I used to work at a place where my coworker was an American of Japanese heritage. His surname was Omata. Somebody misspelled his name “O’Mata.” He got a kick out of it. Every St. Patrick’s Day, he proudly wore a graphic button “Kiss me I’m Irish!” He was a hoot. I miss him.
Never heard of Dave before UA-cam recommended this video. Now, I'm a fan. Brilliant and intelligent humor.
Thank you for performing and bringing joy to the world!! Loved it and I am telling everyone about you, keep it up!
When I am down, I always listen/watch this special. Never fails to pick me back up in a good mood!
Thank you David, Great Show!! As an American of 🇵🇷Puerto Rican and Irish 🇮🇪Heritage, I’m very proud to be part of the Irish ☘️ Diaspora…
I have 3 different sets of Half Mexican half Irish Cousins… Love the story of The San Patricio’s Battalion!!❤
🙏🏼🌞🍻😎🤙🏼
David, you rock! Irish wit at it's absolute finest! Good luck lad and thanks for the hearty laugh out loud moments. Quite a lot!!! All the best from Donegal.
Having a great grandmother from County Mayo, THIS is the best kind of comedy!
Princess Grace Kelly's dad /granddad originated from County Mayo, Ireland.
Hilarious special!! As a history teacher, I love the way you mixed history with humor. The thinking man's comedian. One of the funniest I've seen for quite some time. You hit it out of the park @DavidNihill. Your cultural, satirical, current events humor had me laughing throughout the special. I look forward to seeing your career continue to soar! 🤣🤣👏👏

@@davidnihill1 Absolutely!! Well earned. I hope you'll be coming to Florida on your tour..🙌
Thanks for the Irish trivia and teaching me Ireland is more diverse than you'd expect. I'm proud to have ancestors from Ireland :)
What a GLORIOUS Set! AND socially relevant and useful! Can't wait to see him in person!
The comedy special you wish never ended.
Wonderful! Both in the jokes and the positivity! The world is a better place because of people like you!
This was fantastic all through! And it deserved a standing ovation.
Great jokes but more importantly, what a down to earth and a wholesome show/performance. Thank you!
Thanks for the history lesson 😂 great laughs!!!
Viva Mexico, Ireland 😝
Thank you for the laughs David. Best show ever.
Way to go Dave 👏👏
Thanks mate. Much appreciated and see you next hopefully not in St. Louis :)
Fantastic special you rock
love the comedian love. Super fortunate to have caught one of Drews shows in AZ where he made fun of a table of angry drunk hillbillies all night, although that was pre-Will Smith. lol =P
Thats amazing
i was just watching your specials..
and i wanted to queue up other specials . and i randomly clicked a few and its THIS DUDE the potato irish no slaves joke dude
how did you know?
Irish shagging their way across America. This has long been my understanding of history, too!
As a person who just got back my ancestry DNA results, I can confirm that the Irish are always there, and for me from both parents which was not expected
last names are never a good basis to track your ancestry. Adoptions, single moms, etc. Only constant with mankind, is that there is always something unexpected.
@@Kotazo85 Don’t know what tracking last names have to do with my comment since I said I got my DNA results back but ok
@@BlackShadowUchiha why was having Irish blood unexpected for you? A decent part of the East Coast has plenty. Even in Mexico due to that San Patricio platoon of mercenaries from that 5 de mayo war.
@@Kotazo85 I knew of the Irish blood on my mothers side but my fathers side was unexpected because we knew that there was Germanic descent on his side but nothing else
@@BlackShadowUchiha ah yes. Europe is such a narrow area that populations can actually mix up a lot either on the motherland, or when inmigrant groups mingle at a new place. Take a trip to Manhattan, Orlando or even here in SJ Costa Rica. Just a group of 5 guys can easily have 15 different ethnic groups on their genome. Spain alone was pretty diverse before they sent the colony fleets...
wanted to say i loved your comedy special. so hilarious and entertaining. from canada, just wanted to say you are amazing.
He is brilliantly funny and smart. Loved all of the history. Shared this with my grown sons and they’re loving it.
Aside from the fact that I love your stuff because the Irish and Serbians also have a lot in common, I just can't believe that you actually KEEP replying to everything on social media personally. This was indeed comedy gold and I've been laughing along with you for about year now (since I discovered your stuff). Sláinte from Belgrade, Serbia! 🍺🍺
Thanks a million! Much appreciated and tis me! :)

David, I'm not watching this for the first time and i love it!!
OMG, Dave!!!
First of all, Congratulations!!! This is amazing ♡😂 Witnessing all of those nights where you were working out this set and now seeing it come together in this beautifully filmed, edited & executed "not so special" special is seriously inspiring, to say the least. I'm so proud of your endeavors & thrilled to see you shine ✨️ Thank you for allowing me to join a few legs of the tour and for sharing the best cultural appreciation jokes!
