im native speaker and when i have just heard your pronunciation my mind flew away because you are so good! It sounds like you dont have an accent at all !
I´m studying russian. It has taken me a long time. Language learning is time consuming unless you are living in the country l the language is spoken. But what has helped me a lot are songs. Learn the Cyrillic alphabet, listen to Russian songs and print out the lyrics so that you can sing along. Look up every word you do not understand. This helps with your vocabulary.
Hey Ricardito, как дела? Yes, yes, yes, it's about the habit. By the way, this is a great book I'm currently reading on how to form good habits. The guy is the habits guru! amzn.to/2D8qzOr
I'm Italian and I'm trying to learn Russian too. I said "trying" because as you know is very difficult and sometimes I lose my motivation, but now I found it thanks to this video. Спасибо огромное!
let's face it, you learned Russian fast because you've got a strong will but, most of all, because you are a fast learner, that's quite an exclusive club to belong to. on the Web you will find thousands of infallible ways to learn a language but, in the end it comes down to accepting your own pace of learning, that's rule number one if you want to succeed. as for me, I'm a slow but very determined learner. having said that, I love your videos. ciao
Why do you learn Russian??? Is it interesting or what? By the way, I'm Russian and I learn English because I want to become an American police officer 😃
Jelly Cutie i learn Russian because it’s beautiful language and it’s always interesting to learn a new thing .. but to be honest I started learning it because I want to talk to myself in a language that others around me won’t understand 😂😂🤷♀️ I’m Egyptian

I suspect there is another reason which is so natural you may not even realize it. A hint? I am currently studying Greek. Greek is a progenitor of both Latin and Cyrillic alphabets, and what I see now, as an English speaker, is that the road from Greece to Russia is shorter and wider than the road from England to Russia literally and figuratively. This is not to detract from the obvious, that you are extremely able, and my respect for your talent is one of the reasons why I've chosen Greek to add to my other language studies of Russian, Norwegian, French, Spanish, Latin, and of course, native tongue, English. So, thank you! I'm really pleased with this current choice.
Brian, why don't we do a video together? I'd love to hear your own methods! Well done on your language learning methods! I'm grateful we have you in this community. 🙏
@@angelosgeorgakis5663 ,I can't tell you how surprised and flattered I was to read this note this morning! I am an unusual language student for several reasons. The first and foremost is that almost four years ago, a laryngitis situation turned out to be a throat cancer, shortly after which I had my larynx removed. I see from your model you're probably a cyclist as I was also, and anxious to get back on my bike. I developed a new filter to permit easy maintenance and protection for the neck ventilation I was left with and was shortly thereafter cycling again. To boost my spirits I found the exuberance of Russian song and dance just the thing but was upset with myself not knowing anything about the Cyrillic alphabet. So with a school background of about six years Latin from, wait for it!, pushing sixty years ago, a formative scientific method view of the changing form and function of natural phenomena to be the natural precursor to all language, and an avid English reader with hundreds of books on shelves and on my smartphone, I thought, what the heck!. Learn Russian! After studying the alphabet and re-tabbing a spare keyboard with the Russian letters, I learned to type Russian after a little while on any keyboard with the software change over only. I've done the same thing with respect to Greek, and have a Spanish and a Norwegian conversion as well although not as necessary as for Russian and Greek. This language endeavor has been going on four the last two and a half years, with Greek now at the two-month mark. I too fill notebooks, and at last count, I have filled about 1800 pages over the course of five language endeavors. I do the Duolingo discipline, now at 200,000 XP in total, level 25 in all languages except Greek now at level 17. I watch Russian movies and serials all the time as a wealth of material constantly flows through youtube, and my fav Russian movie is Poor Liz which I've seen over a half dozen times loving it all over again each time. I go back over the list of dozens after a while to see how much Russian I'm picking up, and it's now reached the stage where I tend to follow the Russian more closely than the English subtitling. Still, for an English speaker, Russian spelling, cases, and expression are very difficult. I'm catching on to it though. The Greek alphabet has such a wide expressive range with its diphthongs and several double duty letters, that I'm amazed at what I'm learning, and so much of the strangeness of the Russian from an English perspective is not at all so strange from a Greek perspective. As an example, since delta and theta have moved closer to sounding alike, and the Greek upsilon is so much like the Russian Y when sounded out in the omicron-upsilon diphthong one has to wonder about the correspondence between the Greek word for remembering, and the Russian for thinking. In English, 'I can't think of it' and 'I can't remember it' are closely related in meaning. So, the Greek spelling begins with theta, and the Russian, with Delta, and although the Russian and Greek pronunciations of these words differ unrecognizably, the morphology inherent in both of the languages indicates something else indeed. Now, I wanted to learn Greek for a few reasons, one being my respect for your endeavors and a curiosity for learning about the Greek - Russian connection, and the other being my respect for Aristotle and Pythagoras. I'm studying the grounding of logic, and the concept of duality is at the root of it. The Greek language has a tale to tell, and I want to listen closely to it! So there you are! Thanks, again. Brian
good pronunciation, pleasant to hear. Because mostly English speaking people even if they know russian have pronunciationsame as they are chewing gum at the moment. U are very very good, if not some little things, I would not even think its not ur native language.
I know this video is about three years ago but I am in need of help. I’ve been learning Russian for only two years and I’m trying my best to learn it but school holds me down and teaches me more English and the more I learn English, the less I can learn Russian. What are some tips?
Priviet... I'm russian girlfriend and i'm trying to learn about russian language... It's difficult for me because russia have 34 alphabet but i never give up to learning about it... I proud of you Angelos👍
Hey everybody who learns Russian. I would be glad if I could help everybody who needs it. I also wanna practice my English in a real dialog with a native speaker. We could chat in Discord. I'm Russian. Please tell me if I made any mistakes)
Angelos, I want to learn greek, do you also teach greek? How would you recommend me to start. I bought few books when I was in Crete. That I use to build vocabulary and get some feeling for the grammar. Kind regards, Margret
У меня к тебе вопрос Ангелос, как долго ты учишь русский язык? Я учу русский язык уже год и я постоянно забываю правила которые я уже знаю и это бесит меня. Тем более, я до сих пор очень нервничаю разговаривать на русском. Что ты советуешь? Спасибо большое за помощь
Ricardo, send me an email at livediversified@gmail.com. I'm setting up a live group coaching session for selected people who follow me on UA-cam to help them with their language learning goals or anything else. Thanks, Angelos
Hello! If you could answer me pls. I have tons of books in RUS and I don't know how to organize them to make a learning program. What works to me learning something new is about the same you've explained in your video.. i'ts hard to me to say: first book X then book Y and so on.. many thx ;)
Случайно посмотрела это видео, и удивилась тому, что понимаю каждое слово на английском, такая четкая речь... Все таки я выучила английский, и девяти лет не прошло! Хаха
Hey Angelos do you think it’s possibile to study Russian Chinese and Japanese together at university? I already know Japanese ( intermediate level ) so I will keep studying it by myself. But honestly I’m afraid it’s too much difficult and challenging for me and that at the end I wouldn’t learn them very well. Otherwise I can choose English instead of Russian however I’ve been studying English since I was a kid and studying other 5 years of this language at uni looks kinda banal and not interesting. What would you suggest me ?
Okay I'm confused so how do I know by watching films what word is what does that make sense kind of like Spanish they say things can a backwards sometimes so I'm not sure I watching a movie helps
You have like 6 notebooks. How would you find stuff again? I agree with the writing down is a good mnemonic technique. But I prefer to write on a computer, since I have a search function.
Mmm... OK. You know what? You said the magic word, I prefer! If you prefer that, then do that. It's all about what works for you! ;) By the way, you can have an index of your notes at the end. This is something I've learned from Tim Ferriss. Google it, Tim Ferriss how to take notes. You can also check my book, How to Take Good notes, I'm explaining that technique there too.. ;) amzn.to/2D8LGQF
The column technique so simple I’m annoyed I never thought of it. I’ve just been memorizing in my head while only writing phrases or words down in Russian. That way works for me but it’s tiresome haha. I’ve only been learning for a little less than 3 months and I’d say I can learn words fairly well, I just have trouble putting them in sentences. Большое спасибо.
im native speaker and when i have just heard your pronunciation my mind flew away because you are so good! It sounds like you dont have an accent at all !

Exactly!
If not, you’ll never get it down. It’s a day to day process with learning it.

As Aristoteles said, it is all about the habit. Just being exposed to the language helps an awful lot !
