You can sculpt infinitely into oblivion in Zbrush yes. That sculpting tool looked like the very basics of Zbrush, actually it looks closer to mudbox from autodesk but again with less features.

Anything that is made for precise hard lined objects (as in Shaper 3D), but for a one-time purchase? I'm just looking for something very rudimentary for perspective reference of simple objects - not organic sculpting like all the other examples in the video. Thanks!

Personally it’s like a sketchbook, you can hone and sharpen your skills but think it’s good to get comfortable with both iPad and desktop drawings tablet setups, but if you’re building your skills from scratch id say go for the iPad, you can create anytime anywhere and those skills mostly carry over when you wanna get serious on pc.

What i have noticed is that ipads are good for initial concept designs and ideation. Maybe even for some decent sketching and basic rendering (i have seen procreates yet). But for detailed finishing and especially for architectural renders my personal observation is that laptops and PCs wIth good GPU's are the best. Ipad will only aid in the process. I am saving up for an ipad at the moment but not so much for the 3d rendering or modelling part of it anymore. Just an all time available easy to visualize concepts kinda tool. :D
Nope, not at all. You definitely need many tools that are not supported in the iPad pro, blender, maya, substance painter and designer, unity and unreal if you are into gaming... The list can be endless 🤣 From what I've seen on the App Store, these tools are nice and they can help you create amazing things but I would suggest getting a powerful laptop/pc

I think shapr3d is great, but the cost of it now is ridiculous. When it first came out it was £79 a year, now i think it over £200. It was cheaper for me to buy a new desktop and get fusion.
Yeah, at this point I'm really only buying in when I have a design fully prepped that I want to export at full resolution. I do agree that it is a bit steep for that annual price. I still want to see if I can design a helmet in that app!

Those run great on the cheaper ipad that work with the first version of the apple pencil. That's a really good entry price to do digital art with procreate and nomad

1000% nothing beats laying on the sofa/in bed/on a plane & being able to 3D model. Look into an iPad that is a year or two old. The new ones are overkill and $$ Nomad is $15 and is simply amazing

you can prob make assets and textures on ipad, but then move to pc to put bones using blender, then finally put it into unity for animations and textures then finally upload on vrc

I am switching from Mac to IPad and at first was not going to use it for 3D design. I knew how to print things off of my Mac but am seeming to have some trouble converting my files from STL to GCode straight on my iPad,. If you have any tips that would be great.

I’m wanting an excuse to buy an iPad Pro, at the moment I use FreeCad and Cura (I have a E Pro V2) on my crappy old laptop and it’s about to die on me for sure. It’s super slow and I’ve been wanting to buy an iPad anyway regardless, but if I can move my 3D printing antics over there too that’ll be amazing! I was assuming if I bought one I’d only really be able to use it for designing/drawing, note taking, and media consumption… hence my not wanting to fork out the money!

I would highly highly highly recommend Nomad Sculpt which released shortly after I made this video. The Air should be able to easily handle most of what you throw at it.

The free sculpt option in particular is really exciting! It's been really hard finding concrete information since the air is so new, though, so I really appreciate the reply!
Shapr3d would be interesting if there was no subscription. But when you have free and subscription it is hust a ploy to get people into that subscription as the free version after some time is nerfed to an unusable state. Reviewers should not review subscription based software on the account of it being a subscription, or at the very least give only the lowest of grades to apps that try and get its customers into a subscription service.
Keep in mind that Shapr3D uses direct modelling so not exactly great for any serious technical parts. Sketches and models are not linked together. Once you extrude something, your model is set in stone and making changes later will be difficult. It's a lot closer to blender than Fusion. If you want Fusion replacement you will get upset. Also the videos they make can be a bit annoying reminging you constantly that direct modelling is better than parametric... which is a nonsense.

I want to rig my 3D model on the iPad, I wish there was a program to make bones and rig models… I want to make a game, but I won’t be home for a month and only brought my iPad. At least I can make models, but I really want to rig characters and start animating them to import on unity or unreal engine later…

After the last update, the developer mentioned on Twitter that he'd spend some time creating a forum and website, so it might be a few weeks before we see another update.

I want to rig my 3D model on the iPad, I wish there was a program to make bones and rig models… I want to make a game, but I won’t be home for a month and only brought my iPad. At least I can make models, but I really want to rig characters and start animating them to import on unity or unreal engine later…

@@UncleJessy I know! It's super intuitive too and has tooltips for the less obvious things. I'm always excited about it's updates! After the last update, the developer mentioned on Twitter that he'd spend some time creating a forum and website, so it might be a few weeks before we see another update.

I’m really sad cause I tried looking for Forger 3D but apparently it’s updated recently and is only called Forger and isn’t a flat one time payment :/ it’s now a monthly/yearly subscription

@photag216 That's good to hear! My pc is super old and won't let me do most of the things, so I'm happy to hear I can make them work on the ipad to start modeling before I manage to update my computer.
