How many of us little girls identified so much with Mia and only wished to have a Queen Clarisse? Cuz I know I definitely did!

FUN FACT: This scene was actually the hardest to shoot when this film was being made. This particular Garden was shot right by an airport in San Francisco that interfered with the production's sound system. Every 15-45 seconds, a plane would go overhead taking off. It literally took over 30 takes for every single shot. Anne and Julie would do a few lines at a time, stop, wait for the plane to take off, and then do it again. Also there were moments the planes came right away so they would even have to speak the lines fast. Throw them off but they would laugh in between takes. Such a process. Because they were such great sports, the film's late and great director Garry Marshall gave both of them special awards for BEST ACTING OVER AIRPLACE INFEREENCE.

And THAT is the curse of filming in the San Francisco BAY AREA!!! hahahahaha. I've worked on HUNDREDS of movies shot here and it's a nightmare. We have the flight paths from San Francisco International Airport, OAKLAND airport, San Jose Airport and almost a dozen Small regional airports all over the area. The plane traffic here is INSANE. Waiting for roaring aircraft to pass overhead always adds about 40% of the filming time if you film on location in the San Francisco Bay Area.

At the point of the first movie, no other legitimate heir to the throne was known, so queen Clarisse probably didn't expect the parliament to enforce that rule on mia. But after nicholas's appearance, it was certain someone was threatening Mia's claim to the throne so she had to marry to strengthen her claim.

Mia's grandma the queen never lie, because it's true that her loving father died, Mia is a princess to rule Genovia and that's their law. That make sense and Mia refused her then she ran off her royal residence.

She was 17 years old. and yes, it was her motion picture debut. Her previous experience was on a tv show called "Get Real" but this was her first feature film.

The reason he died is unknown, but, in the book, he did survive what would have killed him, which was testicular cancer, in the movie, he wasn't so fortunate to survive it.

I believe those who love power don't deserve it as they can be easily corruptible. I would prefer the life of a peasant king, living a common life while still governing the affairs of the kingdom. Palaces, fancy food and clothes are cool and all but I don't really want them for myself

So right after Mia’s grandmother reveals she’s a princess, she immediately refers to her as “Queen Clarice” which doesn’t quite make sense to go from grandma one minute to Queen Clarice the next minute using formal etiquette

She probably only knew him as Phillipe. Clarisse referred to him by his complete name. That's why she said she didn't know who he was.
