Very skilfully done man. I just have a suggestion for the procedure, see what you think. Glue each button to it's black stud. Place each button/stud assembly in their correct position. Surround the button/stud islands in a sea of silicone. Float the cover plate on top so that its bottom surface makes contact with the silicone and a small bead forms around the edge sealing it in place.
Hi great video and very nice watch! I use UV glue to fix the keyboard in place. UV glue is clear, strong and it gives you total control over curing process. I also use sugru rubber to mimic original gasket.
Amazing restoration, 6:18 next time put litte drop of oil to avoid stuck silicone to the case, and in 9:13 use liquid polyurethane for that purpouse or neutral black silicone
Oil is not a good idea will sip into the movement later on, it is the same thing as using the liquid wax whivh is putpose build to avoid stuck silicone. Thanks for the tip on polyurethane.
@@VintageDigitalWatches Thanks to you, yes maybe oil on that place its not nice, polyurethane is expensive but is a perfect solution include to buid a new wristband, i use to restore hifi vintage audio and old retro computers or consoles too 😉
Been really enjoying your videos! Do you have an Instagram account? Learning more about orient and citizen models (and inspired to learn about Ricoh from your vid) so great to see more of your collection!
Any tips - my pristine A159, put new battery in - nothing; watch inactive, no flickering, button action ok, specified battery, tried another identical batt, tested both batts both ok. Still nothing, Batt compartment clean, no acid residue or anything like that. No weird smell. Watch sat in box for about 10 years with no battery. Any tips, or is it now junk?
Hello! I have the same watch with the same problem. Will there be grease when this transparent resin dries? Will residual grease destroy the circuit board? Now I have ab silicone on my hand, I am afraid that the grease left after the glue dries will leak into the circuit board. Please reply when you are free! Thanks!!
I did not use silicone to fix it at last. I connected the rubber rod directly to the button and then fastened the keyboard, but the rubber cut a little too long. After fixing the panel, it was easy to press the switch automatically. Unfortunately, I can't send pictures here, otherwise I can share them with you.
Hi! I see that in a lot of your videos you work with watches that have a lot of oxidation. Taking into account that probable this corrosion comes from the mercury battery, do you think that inhale the polish partícules can be bad for your health?
Super nice fix bro 👍👍👍 Also i have two questions, if you dont mind. Its that an irreversible fix right? And, do you know where i can find Casio circlips for buttons? Thanks in advance
Hi Victor, the fix is permanent. There is a store in UK, Cousins, that sell these, alternatively you can get some old broken Casio and get it from that.
@@VintageDigitalWatches thank you so muc for your response my friend. I saw on cousins, but dont know the size, maybe is 1.5? Or 1.2? Thank you so much
hello where are u from - i got a casio pathfinder paw-2000t - the is a dark circle now on the screen - can you fix it ? its 10 years old- i recently replace the battery - all is fine except this dark big spot on the screen - kindly contact me
@@VintageDigitalWatches But I never use silicone on my head. 😄 Seriously though, that was a really good job you did and guaranteed fix to last a long time.
I feel like this watch was a great bold idea whose time had not yet come. I mean, who is going to use a stylus for calculations when you can just carry a pocket calculator? Casio, however perfected the idea and made it more viable--the CA-53 was far superior to the C439.
hi please can you teach me how open and close my seiko 0138-5010 ??? I want clear all the contacts but it's difficult for me open and close my watch LCD please :) thanks
I thought this is going to be messy,, but it wasn't, very well done. thanks for sharing.
Not my first attempt or idea but the most straight forward.
Bravo!!! the most importent thing is the idea. The hair brush. Unbeliveble! Greetings from Poland.
Thanks, surely some may find better substitued for the studs.
Wow! Very resourceful! What a collection on that wall!
Thank you, I have two collection videos if you want to see them up close.
Great video! You got me into Vintage Digital Watches. Have been able to restore a few Seikos watching your videos. Thank you!
Thanks Moi, comments like these keep me going. Cheers!

Wow you impressed me on that one! you are really good at finding fix, etc! love your video
Thank you, I really love these watches and try to find fixes that other people can do so we can rescue as many as possible.

Great video, really clever fix!!
Thanks Chris
I want one of these watches!!! shame that they're just out of my price range.
nice fix!

The silicone I used does't leave grease resodue...and honestly I don't think sanitary silicone would either.

As always my favorite watch channel please check out the new yema led watch
Hi, thanks for the comment. I did check the Yema Led out and ended buying a vintage mechanical chroni from them. :D
Sir plz upload a video to solved of fast drain of battery....
Perfect fix, but I shave my head daily. Would a blade work just as well? 😄
:))), you can use the blade to cut the excess silicone.
