Don Dokken was ALWAYS a crooner, so much emotion and soul in his voice. I was apprehensive when I saw the album was coming knowing that Don’s voice was almost totally shot.
I was surprised how great he sounded on this. The soul is still there, but it’s obvious that studio knob twiddling and overdubs ad infinitum has made this work. But hey, I don’t really give a shit how they did it. The fact is, they did and it’s worked. DOKKEN’S BACK BABY.
Don is Hard Rock’s version of Steven Hawkins. The brain is still there and so is the will, he knows exactly what he wants to do, but has to rely on technology to do it.

Awesome entertaining review.... I subscribed because of that.
That said I have to point out one factual error in the video.
The mascot on the heaven comes down artwork isn't the same as the one featured on 4 other dokken albums..
The mythological creature that began appearing in the bands artwork starting with the coat of arms on back for the attack then again on 1990s up from the ashes ( this only a Don dokken record because of a lawsuit by the former members) 2008s lightning strikes again and 2020s the lost songs is a Phoenix a mythical creature representing Change and rebirth..
The creature on the new record is a griffin
A creature in eastern myth that's sort of a guardian, much like angels are for us in the west.
