    You are not a loser. You are very intelligent and hard working. I really like the topics you talk about in your videos. Congratulations for graduating grad school and getting your masters degree! I’m autistic and I’m planning on going to grad school and I’m going to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in the fall. You should keep making videos and you inspire me a lot. I have autism and I feel like a loser sometimes and I get underestimated a lot. People such as my old special Ed teachers and case managers didn’t think I could do things like work, go to college, drive a car, live independently, etc…

      Thank you and I'm so happy I could do that for you. I hope that when you're done with your schooling you are about give back to the community. I'm currently trying to start volunteering for the ARC. And I do remember you telling me about that in a previous comment. Remember that they can learn all the facts and have all the education that they want but those medical and social professionals, will, for the most part never know what it's like to be in our situations.

    Hi, I found this video by accident and I'm glad I did.
    You're not a loser. You are articulate and well-spoken. It's a pleasure to listen to you, I will definitely watch your other videos. You also seem like a very good person. I wish you good luck with volunteering. I hope you meet some good friends there.
    Congratulations on your anniversary!! I actually like the style of your videos. It seems more genuine this way. It's almost like having a conversation with someone. Also, the fact that your channel grows without some crazy effort only proves that you have a lot to offer - that your ideas and thoughts are enough to gather someone's attention.
    Also, you have an impact on others. I think I can learn a lot from you. We have different problems and different lives but it's comforting and inspirational to see someone so honest and hard working.
    I feel like this comment is all over the place and sorry for that. But I just wanted you to know that if anything, you already impacted someone. A 19 year old girl from Poland :D

    All the cognitive damage I had to endure and LongCovid on top of it all really breaked me so I wanna give you some positive perspective for you, achieving undergraduate degree and now your Master is really an accomplishment you can be proud of. Beeing cognitively well equipped in general makes life so much more enjoyable and science ever expanding it is within reach to lift people out of wheelchairs soon I think...on the other hand curing cognitively impaired/damaged people is not.

    I have a genuine question with no disrespect for anyone. If a child will be severely disabled when it is born so you think they should terminate the pregnancy? Or is all life worth living?

    • @ACrownofFlowers
      @ACrownofFlowers  3 місяці тому +3

      It depends how severe we're talking about. If we're talking about something like Tay-Sachs, that basically leaves the child with no chance of survival at all, or some other super rare genetic or environmental accident, of course.
      But if we're talking about stuff like Autism, Down Syndrome, or Cerebral Palsy (my condition), then no. I say no because people automatically assume that it's going to be worse. It might be harder, of course, but people just don't know that there are resources out there for most individuals with these conditions that can help them live a more fulfilling life together. I also think that a lot of people aren't aware of the dark history of stuff like (b)eugenics outside of Germany, and I think that if people were to actually read those accounts from places like the USA and England and stuff like that a lot of them would change their minds about it. And you can see this because the pro-choice people always use the disabled in their arguments for "that" choice.
      As I've already said this doesn't mean that I'm completely against "that" choice. What I'm against is people using that in their arguments for "that" choice, and pretending like there aren't so many free resources that can help deal with a person that has disabilities that have sprung up in the last 50 years, or the assumption that it automatically means that life isn't worth living. I'm also against people that say that an attitude like that has nothing to do with years of oppression and systemic ableism-if you read the history-it does.
      So yes, I think almost all life is worth living. I know that's unpopular to say as a progressive or left-leaning person, but disabled lives matter, and I'm tired of people acting as if they don't. There's still one protected form of discrimination in Western society, and from the womb to the grave, it's always been ableism.

    Hello Gabe. I really hope you read this.
    I really believe in you.
    First of all, you hit 1k subs on UA-cam. That is a huge accomplishment! 90% of channels don’t go over 100 subs.
    Second, you are in grad school! That is amazing! You are becoming more educated, more smarter, and you made publications! You are an academic !!!
    Third, you said you were working out! That is awesome! You are working on your body and mental health! Imagine how far you will get after working out for a while !
    Have you ever researched Neuralink? It is a device that elon Musk invented. It’s supposed to help people like you regain a lot of neurological and body mobility using a brain computer interface.
    Imagine this, you keep making videos, you get better, you have a following , u make better content, u get some money, etc, etc, and ur muscles get bigger cuz of ur gym, u get better mental health, and when u graduate, u will have a smarter brain!
    A social media following, with a graduate degree, with muscles, that is not a loser! If you really want to walk, run, etc, then research Neuralink! I genuinely believe you will be a legend!
    Work hard and never give up!!!

    • @ACrownofFlowers
      @ACrownofFlowers  3 місяці тому

      I really appreciate it, but I'm not really interested in all of that material stuff. Also the publications that I made weren't really academic in nature. One was for a magazine and the other was for a humanities journal at my college.
      As far as Neuralink goes, it's not something that's new. The type of technology they have right now has been around for decades. I am excited for its potential and cost-effectiveness, but I don't want having an Elon Musk run company have access to my brain literally. Also, I'm comfortable being in a chair and I feel like if I have to make myself walk just for people to accept me then they weren't really accepting me in the first place.

      @ACrownofFlowers  3 місяці тому +2

      @@captainsafety88 wow. Thank you so much man, I love Wolfenstein! Part of the reason why I have to stay thin is because other people take care of me and it has to be possible for them to help me transfer out of my chair, so if I'm too bulky it's impossible for them to do that. if you look at my earlier videos you can see that I'm even thinner than I am now. So I can't really bulk that much. Either way, that's still the best compliment anyone has ever given me lol. I'm in a wheelchair so being told that I look like a soldier is really flattering.

    • @captainsafety88
      @captainsafety88 3 місяці тому +1

      @@ACrownofFlowers I didn't know you were in a wheelchair. I only stumbled upon your channel because of the monetization.
      I think it's great that you're publicly communicating about the challenges you face in life. The real challenge is having no tasks or perspectives in life, or let me put it another way, thinking that you have none.
      As for women, there are many, even very attractive ones, who are also wheelchair users. Some wheelchair users are professional athletes-basketball, for instance.
      You shouldn't feel inferior at all, quite the opposite.
