  • “You're already old, and I've met someone else, with whom I feel reborn. So goodbye,” said the husband to his wife of 25 years. But a year later, he came back and froze on the spot when he saw what had happened to her.
    #storiesfromthebox #cautionarytale #liveyourbestlife #sadstory #familystory #kindstory #sadlovestory #audiostory #amazingstory #lifestory
"Mommy, why do you sound so lifeless? Can you hear me, are you there?" Gayle's soft voice from the cell phone echoed with concern in the mother's ear.
"Yes, yes, sorry, daughter, you know how I can easily fall out of the conversation after work," Samantha tried to infuse her voice with a semblance of lighthearted calmness.
"So, Tom, Naomi, and I are visiting you on Christmas, or do you have other plans? Let me know immediately, so I can quickly adjust our plans."
"Honey, frankly speaking, I'm not sure about your Dad's plans," Samantha exhaled. "I can only assume they're wonderful. It's a shame to say, but he left me for a younger, beautiful woman. They've been seeing each other for a while now, so we're going to divorce officially. I'm sorry to drop such news on Christmas. You know I've never been good at keeping things from you."
"Mommy, I'm coming to see you! As soon as Tom gets home from work to watch Naomi, I'll grab a cab and be right away!"
"Gayle, I'm fine. You don't need to disrupt a two-year-old's schedule because of me. It won't make me feel any better.
"Mom, that kid has a dad, a perfectly adequate, responsible modern father! You can fool anyone with your calm voice, but not me! I'll be an hour and a half!"
Samantha listened to three quick beeps in the receiver and smiled sadly. She considered herself fortunate to have the daughter like Gayle ; not everyone is so lucky. Samantha learned about the challenges of adolescence from other people's stories. She also managed to avoid the drama of Gayle's first love. In fact, there was no drama at all. Gayle took her studies seriously, found a job in her second year, and managed to balance both. By the end of her time at the college, she had saved up for a vacation to Italy, with a little help from her parents.
On the plane, Gayle met her future husband, Tom. They spent a week in Venice, Florence, and Rome. Six months after returning home, they got married and welcomed their daughter, Naomi.
Samantha found joy in her role as a devoted grandmother, feeling almost perfectly content.
She and her husband Mark led a perfectly typical life for a long-time couple. They didn't quarrel or dispute fundamental issues.

Samantha's handling it like a champ though, I gotta give her props. No hysterics or drama, just calmly showing him the door.

It's so amazing what blessings 🙌 we find waiting for us when we step out on Faith and walk away from people who are hurting or using us. Every woman should believe they are better than being someone's 2nd choice. ❤❤❤

What a great story. Too bad Mark didn't see what a wonderful woman Samantha was, yet he had to chase a younger woman that is probably a gold digger, just for his foolish ego and pride. I think comfort in a relationship is better, than a short sequel fling that is empty, especially when the fling is half your age and won't be able to keep up with her with money or energy. What a silly man Mark was. And after he leaves Samantha, he has the nerve to get angry at her for finding someone else that will love and cherish her. Thank you so much for all of your wonderful stories, they are always well written and narrated. God bless you dear narrator. 🙏 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Wow, that story related to my marriage, when my husband told me he wants out of the marriage. I was five years older. I guess he wants to go dating a younger woman. I accept the divorce, but after a couple of years. These women used his money. He is still single.

Remember: cherish what you have now. For when it is lost, all there is left is regret!

WOW! Couldn’t handle being with the woman that really demanded nothing and left her for a young chick! It took what six months to regret it. NOW, he lost it all and has to settle for being a father again when he should only be a grandfather. His ex wife on the other hand found the true love she so deserved. Call it Karma!

Men usually fall in the same trap at a certain age, fall in love with a girl who is their daughters' age. I understand it, have a few romantic meetings with her. Enough to cool down. But don't leave your old wife and family. A young mistress loves ONLY your money. Happy for Samantha and Gayle, wise women. Thank you dear narrator, you are so cheering-up

We women are strong. I divorced when my third son was 2 months old. I am not for divorces at all, but sometimes it's necessary to keep yourself. People often don't value what they have.

👍👍 Good story-Samantha (Gayle, her daughter too!) is a class act, who knows her worth, doesn't chase after her betraying, selfish husband, and finds genuine love in the end.
One can only hope that BOTH Mark and Alexa in the end will >value each other, their relationship and family »»as something worth the effort AND cherishing«« as well< instead of just going after fleeting feelings.
    ...
(Giving details about Alexa's younger life so late in the story seems a bit out of place. >IF< she's really woken up and wants to take seriously having a child, family and Mark-if he'll have her… and be serious himself too; then, that's enough to put out there in her behalf. (She doesn't get any sympathy in my book bc of her past.)
💖Dear Narrator, thank you, your deftly done readings are always appreciated.
