Both this albu, Interpol, and Our Love to Admire are both every bit as good as TOtBL and Antics. I've always thought you could hear a very organic and starkly beautiful growth in them from the first two, to these.
@@kylehedrick9653 thanks to mr. dengler. I cannot imagine how even more amazing self titled wouldve been if he had stuck around to help with the song construction
One of the interpol songs that moves me to tears. It is not sadness, but a sort of poignant awareness about the things that matter in life and which we must sooner or later leave forever.
theres so much heart and soul in pauls voice as he sings "so please, please, try it on..", it's so moving. this performance is the definitive version of the song for me
I honestly don't understand any of their lyrics but damn can they write some emotional gibberish, best band ever! I'm guessing this song is about when you give someone like a piece of clothing for their birthday and your worried it won't fit
Hahahaha that was good 😂 really though, the emotion they transmit through their music and Paul’s melodies and words even though they don’t technically seem to make sense. Beautiful.
I need the sun light To keep me above you These moderations I always hoped for Did all this work for Some piece of mind just because On this side You wanna see that There's no change And somewhere to stay But if your right Ill put my keys back There's no change And no hand to play please explore my love's endurance And stay, stay please endure my love's exhortations No way, no fucking way no On this side You wanna see that there's no change And somewhere to stay On this side Your gonna see that there's no change And nowhere to stay Try it on On this side Your gonna see that there's no change And nowhere to stay But if your right Ill put my keys back There's no change And nowhere to stay There's nowhere to stay
When driving, I sometimes replay a song because it didn't hurt enough. This one, however, always hurts so damn good. Respond to this comment on what your interpretation of the lyrics are.
From what I read Daniel brings stuff he has written to the rest of the band, Sam comes up with a beat and Carlos does the bass, string arrangements and keyboards. Paul then comes up with his lyrics and guitar parts.
Sisyphus Felix Carlos USED to do the bass... he left the band after the Interpol CD was finished. But yes, Daniel writes the idea of the song, then all of them finish the song, and the lyrics, written by Paul are added at the end.
This album is really underrated but this song specially should get so much more attention. Hidden gem alongside Summer Well 💎
"Memory Serves" too! One of the best songs they have ever written.

one of best interpol songs.
I think this song is the most beautiful and moving hymn of love in the entire history of rock!
I agree ☝🏼

Wasn't aware they played this live. Hope they'll play The Undoing one day.
21innocentbystander god I wish
I am still waiting for that concert Footage !
i doubt it. even though paul said undoing and lights are the two best songs theyve written in his opinion.
I love you Interpol
And the goosebumps arrive.

Nailed it! I've always thought the same thing. Like wtf is this dude even talking about? Still somehow moving.

Finally the keyboard player gets the attention he deserves :')
Daniel Leonardo Carlos wrote all the keys/synth 👌🏻
amazing live
Dave Pajo on bass!

Porque todas las versiones de estudio de los discos de Interpol suenan peor que sus presentaciones en vivo?
guys, who write songs in Interpol?
Paul Banks

@@DianaBanksBjerre correction, it was mainly carlos and daniel doing the writing. And Carlos left before S/T was finished in May of 2010
studio destroys this song
Whistling and Interpol is not a good combination. Almost ruins an incredible song. Paul's singing is heartrending in its deep passion.
genius!
