Going further down the Band-Maid rabbit-hole with their newest song called Bestie. Band-Maid is an all-female Japanese rock and metal band and they are AMAZING!!! - Розваги
Great reaction discovering BAND-MAID. No egos - a group of of friends who are incredibly talented musicians and classy young women!
They are always play and sing as they feel alive, as real. They hate any lies, fiction. This is Bandmaid music world. I am 67 Japanese old man. No fiction, no egos, threfore always melts your heart on any thier songs.
Ha! You caught it! They co-wrote the music with Mike Einziger of Incubus. Also, when I saw this vid the first time, I though Saiki's outfit looked like one Alanis wore one time.
DUDE THAT'S AMAZING!! I love Incubus!
@@thefablesfollythe only person kanami has allowed into their creative space in years. Studio is their space and personal engineer etc. And he's the only person they ever shared a stage with. Kanami and Mike really got on. The band and he are all real polymaths and into a ton of "very clever people" things apart from music.
The best thing about BM is that they are themselves. No theatre, they are just who they are and I like that a lot.
As for their clothes in the videos - they seem to dress differently when they do collaborations or things that break the normal BM sound. So there are at least three examples of that: When they made fun of us fans with their April Fool's joke and convinced us that they should be geisas instead (search for BAND-MAIKO to find music videos), they had an acoustic concert where they wore beige (MISA broke the trend and wore red instead) and this collaboration with Incubus where they wear white.
U went from zero to maidiac faster than i did
Band Maid doing *BAND MAID* things.
I like your point about them as a band..
no egos
always real
For me the ideals of skill and feel meshed together.
🕊🕊🕊
The other thing you'll find out about Band-Maid is their modesty and the absolute love they show for their fans........unheard of in a Rock genre. These girls are for real......and never disappoint.
They didn't "ditch" the maid concept. They decided that since this was a special song (collab) they'd do a special video.
I didn't mean to say "ditch" lol more like "evolved" because they are still kinda rockin the maid vibe
@thefablesfolly as I said, this was a special occasion. They are still wearing their normal outfits for shows.
If you take the Band Maid journey, you have approximately 130 mind blowing songs and music videos to absorb. It’s an epic journey that began for me in 2017, I have never looked back. Band Maid is hands down the greatest hard rock band on the planet. Great reaction . Thank you from us Maid fans around the world. Please spread the word and continue to support our Maids. Also you may want to check out “PAGE “ live performance.
Subtitles are up to you. I will however say if you ever do the live version of "Endless Story", the song which finished the 3 1/2 hour concert that "Hate?" was from, that you put on the subtitles so you can know what Saiki is saying and singing. It's important to understanding the song.
Oh, enjoy the ride, they will take you to so many places.
I'll most likely do that on my own time. Don't wanna do a reaction twice lol
@@thefablesfolly Up to you. We'll still watch the whole thing.
They don't do bad songs. And as you can see, they can literally play anything. And do.
If you want to hear the genesis of their current sound, for me it's the song Screaming. No official video though. You can check out the double feature Manners / Black Hole LIVE during one of their online concerts during the lockdown. That one has a good 2-song variety. :D
Keep on flowing. 🍺🥴🤘🏻
🕊👀
"Sounds like American rock from the 2010s"
Great call, given that, as mentioned below, it was co-written by a member of Incubus. Great reaction!
And, there is a cell phone video of him playing with Band-Maid on stage.
The Japanese metal/rock is the best in the world currently. Band-Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila, Hanabie and some others. The quality of musicians in Japan is off the charts.
Want to see even more different sides of band maid? Then watch the live video of "Manners, Blackhole" 😊 It's just a random pick but a special one. So many great songs to go, po 😅🕊️
I'm gonna take you up on that
I love both (oops, all three) of these songs...but man you have so many great surprises coming your way as you venture down the pigeonhole 😊
Its the tip of the iceberg my friend. They have many styles. They even have done an amazing acoustic set for Christmas. Endless possibilities with the maids.
Everything you have said about this band has been spot on. Welcome to your favorite band of all time!
I am now addicted to BAND-MAID lol
You're in for about a 130 song ride. Impossibly, they have nothing but banger after banger. You're observation that they're just five musicians playing great music is dead on. Great reaction, rock on!
When they performed this together Mikey chan Einziger got down on one knee at her feet as she played the solo.
6:15 Yeah, it's all this good, or better. You've got about 130 more to go.
I might have to do a few live streams to knock some out in succession lol
@@thefablesfolly You should! I'd be there!
@@thefablesfollyWe can draw a crowd! 🍺🥴
@@thefablesfolly I'm there
This is the other side of Band-Maid. Band-Maid has some beautiful ballads in their discography including "Daydreaming", "About Us", "Smile", "Anemone", and "Memorable".
more Band-Maid? .... im in !
Yesh, its ALL this good.😋👍
Also I may have been your 500th subscriber 🙂
Nice! 🍺😁🤘🏻
You sure were! I just now submitted my AdSense application lol NOW JUST 497 SUBS TO GO UNTIL I CAN RUN ADS!!!
They have great instrumentals too. "From Now On" and the somewhat different 'Dawn Winery Theme". Then there is always the GOAT "Onset".
Yes, all of Bandmaid songs are all great. And crazy thing is that there are all fresh every time you listen. You will pick up a new part each time.
Not kidding at all.
Audio listen, MV, live video, vocal, guitar, Bass, drum and then lyrics.... Just countless wave of awesomeness.
Po!!
I've found this to be true. It is pretty amazing how they've managed to create music this dense that is also so accessible!
good react, i discovered this band last year, there's my favorite band now, as i can say, you will have a long journey with band maid because they are not able to write a bad song. i suggest you to watch "blooming" sadly they don't have an official live (if it is, i miss it) of this song only the music video, or shamble (song from kengan ashura anime s.2)
I did a reaction to Blooming lol
@@thefablesfolly ya i saw it after, sorry, you shloud probablement like the song shamble That Washington made for an anime
Best.
Getting bored with Band Maid is not going to happen. I am 73 and in bands for 60 years, some very good. I have heard every song they have done and I liked them all, not a clinker in the bunch. They play all genres well and switch with impunity. Live and MV all are good and worth listening to. Have fun.
I'm trying really hard not to just blow through their whole catalogue in a day 😂
Great reaction. You're getting there. Keep them coming brother.
such a beautiful song! ♥
I feel similar. I like my rock/metal hard, but not aggressive. Lovebites and Band-Maid are exactly my thing. Hail to these Japanese women!
Yeah, man, I found this band a few years ago with a song called Domination (which you should def check out) and thought, yeah, nah, the level of writing and performance is going to fall off real soon, it's going to be hit 'n' miss, just like all the other hard rock bands. But imagine my shock when it didn't. You have plenty of catalog to plumb. Just subscribed, so I'll be along for the ride.
IMHO it's cause they are not really just a rock band, they are endlessly creative and each song is crafted with the song in mind, not fitting a genre. Even the commissioned songs like Glory have a level of attention to detail that is obvious.
@@bartyslattfast 💯
6:33 see you in 120+ songs 👋🏻
Good luck finding one you don't like ! Lol. They are consistently good. I like to tell people they don't have any bad songs, just some you'll like less than others.
😏♥️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘
7:05 I completely agree with you!
You get the American vibe because it's co-written with Mark Einziger of Incubus. This song isn't my favourite to be honest but still has the distinctive Band-Maid sound.
You know, many bands stick to the samey sound. You may call it formula. While it works, it's great, but the magic don't last forever so you'd have to experiment and hope your fans would love it, it's a big risk-taking.
Band-Maid has taken those risks many times. If you like mid-tempo rock ballads like this, they have more than a handful, if you like instrumentals, they also have a few, they've written so many music in different styles.
Some, you may like less than others for sure, but they are still good.
Their concerts are like non-stop party with the Maids. They will always give you some surprises. You don't have time to get bored, after 22 songs (they played 33 songs at 10th year anniversary tour final) and yet it's never enough for fans.
They keep you engaged. I'm an easily bored person. They still keep me excited. Whenever they come up with something different, there would be the initial shock not knowing how to take it, and the song almost always grow on you. And when you hear it live, it's a whole different experience.
If you are like me, rest assured, you won't get bored.
They are all talented and the love of what they do shines through. Miku being slightly crazy helps too😊
Saiki said the white clothes represent the changing colors of the band moving forward and that she hopes fans enjoy. Bandmaid never stops trying new things. The current "battle armor" is much less sexualized than when they started and as they all get older I think the outfits will eventually be completely gone. They have stated they want to be playing as grandma's so we will see where they go, I know ill be listening as long as they keep making music .
welcome to the journey
Just say Po!
I just looked it up and that's totally what that is lol
@@thefablesfolly You have now learned your first word in Pigeon, Po! 🕊
This video's a bit of a one-off; the song is a collab and more ballady than usual and they ditched the outfits. They're still rocking the maid look - sort of. The singer and bassist ditched it a long time ago and the drummer doesn't really look that much like a maid, and even the lead guitar went to more of an all-black look with their latest costume update. They're more "maid inspired" now. The backup singer/rhythm guitarist, who also founded the band, was always the most committed to the gimmick and she's still doing it.
Some people think they should ditch the maid thing altogether. Personally I don't mind the gimmick. It's a bit silly but as long as they sound this good they can wear whatever the hell they want.
I can't remember if you said you didn't like live videos or if that was someone else, but these ladies kill live and their official live videos are very well produced, so I wouldn't be afraid to check them out. Hate? is a certified banger that came out recently. That's another one worth checking the lyrics for - the lead singer wrote them while pissed at stories of people cheating on their partners during COVID, but it also works as an absolutely brutal breakup song.
It's all this good.
Sung in English. These women do different things all the time. Surprises all the time. Band-Maiko, Christmas concert, Genshin Impact concert... It looks like they have a hook in you. You'll find these gems eventually. Good luck finding a song you don't like.
You have The Warning in your future also. The Warning will be traveling to Japan to do a show with Band-Maid in June. Another all female band.
Bestie, About Us, and Puzzle Acoustic absolutely crush me everytime. Remind me of the people who are long gone.
Brother, it is hard to find a bad song by the Maids.
I'm not sure they have any. Just some that are better than others.
🥰🤘👍😁🤗🕊👀
"I'll keep watching them til I get bored with them" .............. lol good luck with that - one thing you cannot call Band Maid and that is boring.
You will soon be bombarded with fans suggesting many other excellent Japanese bands. IMHO none match the creativity and consistently good composition of bandmaid. They are also a bunch of goofballs on stage and have a lot of fun during live shows. If you ever get the chance to see them live drop everything and go.
Ha ha ha ha listen to RENNE OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO
Oh, I'm doing them all 😂
There are times when the subtitles are important....I see the point about slightly distracting....but come on man....its no more difficult than checking the speedo while driving as you talk to a friend.....and eat....with a drink between your legs....jamming to Band Maid on the stereo....LOL....check "Endless Story" live official at Yokohama WITH SUBTITLES....then you'll understand....nice work....your journey has just begun...."po"
