OH MY GOD 😱 I did NOT expect this to blow up. 🥹 Since so many people were enthusiastic about this video and so many people love BAND-MAID, I will do a video analysis of their career 😄 I'll try putting it out in August, I'll tell you about the date with a community post. ❤🔥FOllow me to make sure you don't miss it! I might also do more reactions to their songs. ☺ Have a wonderful day!! EDIT: I will try to respond to all the comments wish me luck
From Japan BAND-MAID is a Japanese female band that is always in the top three. Each member is also in the top three as a vocalist, guitarist, bassist, and drummer. However, it is said that 70% of their fans are overseas, and many people travel to Japan just to see BAND-MAID. Their official UA-cam channel has 575k followers and is still growing. Most of the venues on their US tour, which can accommodate 500 to 2,000 people, are sold out. And their official UA-cam channel currently has 206,227,572 views and counting.
Leo: Thanks for the review! The MAIDS have held me captive since I discovered them in January. Their individual talents are simply off the charts. Combined they are absolute monsters! Try these videos and you’ll understand: REAL EXISTENCE (official live) FROM NOW ON (MV)(instrumental) HATE? (Live from Yokohama) You can thank me later! More BAND-MAID please!
You have now discovered the best rock on the planet right now! Band-Maid is one of the most prolific, versatile, rock genre-busting band you will ever find. Now that you have reacted to Band-Maid, the UA-cam algorithms will bring many, many, many Maidiacs (that's what we Band-Maid fans call ourselves). Don't worry most of us are old (I mean OLD) rockers (I'm 75 years old) and we are kind, friendly, and supportive of the Maids and their new fans. Yes, there are quite a few excellent J-Rock bands in the country. Band-Maid has survived and thrived for over a decade together completely intact from day one. They celebrated their 10th Anniversary Tour finale in Yokohama in 2023. They are going to release a new album in September. Now, you can react to Band-Maid's music linearly from beginning to present or Jump to their most recent releases. Four of the videos released on their official UA-cam channel from their 10th Anniversary Tour finale are "Hate?", "Unleash", "Don't You Tell ME", and "Endless Story", all official live videos and all show how far the Maids have come in ten years. Their first official music video was "Thrill". It was the video that allowed t he band to stay together and not be disbanded by their production company. "Real Existence" and "The Non-Fiction Days" were two other early released official music videos. The official live video that most Band-Maid fans say really introduced them (me included) is "Domination". That official live video really shows the band's prowess as a hard rock band. It's musically well done, with some epic solos by the lead guitar, bass, and drums. Their lead singer, Saiki, really proves that she is a charismatic and engaging vocalist. Now that I have given you some suggestions on how to proceed on your reactions to Band-Maid, have fun with your discovery of these five wonderfully talented young Japanese females.
11 years and 130+ songs of pure Greatness 💥❤️ They have it all..Passion 🔥 Work 💪 Heart ❤️ Talent 🤘 Magical band, amazing musicians, close friends. For me..Kanami Tōno, lead guitar and composer, is the most impressive musician of 21st Century. Pure genius as a composer, very unselfish, composes always to the whole band. On stage, True Rock n’ Roll Star. They are pure magic, never seen better liveband. Lovin’ Band-Maid ❤️
From Japan Thank you for your reaction to BAND-MAID. They are in their 11th year since their formation, and the members have not changed. They already have nearly 130 original songs. They are a genuine live rock band, so listening to them at a loud volume makes them even more appealing. There is also a live video, so please listen to it. Any recommendation is fine, but many fans recommend Domination, Puzzle, Hate?, Play, Real Existence, etc., but I also recommend Bubble, YORO, Glory, etc. Their charm lies not only in the songs they create, but also in their humanity. They are ordinary women who are serious, friendly, and continue to work hard to cherish their fans. There are also many introductory videos, so please take a look. The song that best captures their humanity is "Endless Story," the song they performed at their Yokohama Arena live, which was created to be sung together with their fans.
"Choose Me" was also my first song I heard from them. That was six years ago and my introduction to Japanese rock music, which now makes up about 95% of my music consumption.
Welcome, Nora. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 200 million views just on their official YT channel, plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (130+ songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: ua-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/v-deo.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Hate?, Shambles, Influencer, Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, Bestie, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits (AniMaid) like Protect You, Sense, Different, Glory and Unleash!!!!! (from their own Anime MV (series?)): ua-cam.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/v-deo.html) And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. ua-cam.com/users/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYUJI concerts: 2023 Yokohama 10th Year Anniversary Concert “Endless Story” ua-cam.com/video/Za1y-RRVd70/v-deo.html ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” ua-cam.com/video/nAdWnIRjGak/v-deo.html Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (February 14, 2020) “Domination” ua-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/v-deo.html ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” ua-cam.com/video/-qQnKILR5u0/v-deo.html Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and other full concerts are on bandmaidprime.tokyo, bili, and official Band-Maid’s DVD/BD/CD. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. At 30 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 32 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 32 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 31 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans. This incredible band ticks all the boxes, talent, creativity, professional , hard working, charisma, kick ass live and what is genuinely refreshing the Maids respect their fanbase, enjoy your B-M journey you won't regret it 👍🍻
These ladies are just as good if not better Live, so I'd check out one of their official live videos. They play through the entire rock spectrum, which is why I love their music so much.
The Maids are amazing I saw them 3 times last year. A beautiful ballad "DAYDREAMING " OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO. For something heavier "MORATORIUM" LIVE AT ZEPP TOKYO
Whether the Maids are similar to kawaii metal really depends on how you define kawaii metal. In the beginning when that subgenre was created (by Kobametal and BABYMETAL), it referred more narrowly to bands that were manufactured from the Idol scene, combining J-pop with metal music. However, nowadays a lot of people just use it to refer to any Japanese band that combines heavy metal with "cute" vocals or aesthetics, whether those bands were manufactured from Idol groups or came together organically. Band-Maid formed organically, and certainly have a kawaii quality (though they only occasionally step over into metal territory). Some other Japanese hard rock and metal bands that are also sometimes loosely referred to as kawaii metal (but aren't manufactured bands) include Hanabie, Nemophila, Gacharic Spin (and their offshoot Doll$boxx), Hagane, Passcode and others. There aren't very many bands that are true kawaii metal under the original meaning of the genre, the most notable being BABYMETAL and LadyBaby. Dreamcatcher also sometimes gets lumped in with kawaii metal, despite beng Korean and not Japanese.
@Zirrad1 I was front row balcony on Misa's side. You got VIP then? That's smarter than what I did. I bought them late and had to pay extra for GA. I just got a good seat because I accidentally got there super early. But I had fun talking to the weebs in the line. I saw Babymetal last year. I had more fun at Band-Maid because they played longer and Babymetal had other bands.
If the charming lead guitarist Kanami can't fit her 'thoughts' into one solo, she simply plays another one, or in some cases one from start to finish. 🤭 Believe me, if you've already enjoyed this one, you're in for an amazing journey! I'm only saying 130+ songs and not a single bad one among those! (It's true!) A recommendation for the next video? With pleasure. :) 'Domination' (Live!) Greetings from Germany and welcome to the pigeon-hole! 🤘🏻🕊 _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Forever!"_ 」 - from *BAND-MAID* - 'Manners' ♬🕊
Welcome newest Princess Leo to the world of Band Maid 🌍 ❤ You chose a wonderful first song to react to. Only their third single, which became quite a hit for them. So much so that they served up two versions during their 10th Anniversary show last year. Please choose whatever song you’re drawn to; at the same time, I think it would be fun for you to see what sort of sounds they came up with soon after “Choose Me.” “the non-fiction days,” official music video, is another early example of Band Maid doing wonderfully Band Maid things. Wherever you go? Maidiacs will follow 🐦
Thanks for reacting to the greatest hard rock band in the world! Wait until you hear them live. I'll recommend the official live videos for Play, Don't You Tell Me, Puzzle, Domination, Onset, Hate?, Freedom, and Endless Story. And definitely still listen to this song and all of their music!
Yes a few fans still here as are the maids. Into their 11th year, same members, they have bonded into a great unit and become best friends as well. Wait until you check out some of their live videos..
Welcome to Band-Maid. Their entire repertoire is great, you could continue to react to any song you like and it'll be good. Their live songs are often the best though. The new song "Hate?" live is the new hotness.
Absolutely the best rock band on the planet. Check out any of their live videos to see what these ladies can really do. They also have a new album coming out in September.
Hate? has an amazing official live video, as do Don't You Tell Me and Domination (actually, you really can't go wrong with their official live videos). The MV for Unleash is fantastic too, as is Influencer. Another fantastic all-female Japanese band is Hanabie. My personal top three to start with for them would be Tousou (Run Away), Be the Gal, and Otaku Lovely Densetsu. Very, very different from Band-Maid, but wildly entertaining.
Band-Maid has played this song so many times that they could likely play it in their sleep. When they performed their Tour Final at Yokohama Arena last year, the lead vocalist performed it solo on a grand piano. Later, they rocked out on it and everyone but the drummer walked and ran around the arena while playing this song. Band-Maid is best witnessed LIVE: they have real stage presence. Band-Maid has a new album coming out in September. These ladies have a 24/7 work ethic. Band-Maid's repertoire ranges from face melting hard rock to heart melting pop ballads. Band-maid is often categorized as "Pop" but they have a wide band-width encompassing Pop, Punk, Prog, fusion, jazz, grunge, and metal with hints of rap and Broadway showtunes. Have I confused you yet? Band-Maid can be difficult to categorize, but their loyal fanbase of Maidiacs have stopped trying. If you listen to this sampling of songs you'll get the idea: "Thrill", "Don't You Tell ME", "Puzzle", "Domination", " Wonderland", "Manners", "Page", "You", "Giovanni", "Warning", "No God", "From Now On", "About Us", "Daydreaming", "Rinne", "Smile", "i'll", "Endless Story". Every Maidiac will tell you that I left a lot great songs off this list.
These girls are the best band in the world. Band Maid is the best rock band on the planet, EVER. I have been around for some time since the 70’s - 80’s and I thought the best of rock was behind us. NO, gladly I was wrong. The best of rock are these 5 wonderful ladies of BAND MAID. By the way, you did great. Keep up the good reactions. You cannot go wrong with any Band Maid song. I LOVE BAND MAID ❤❤
@@OGMaidiac I agree. I'm old enough to remember watching The Beatles live on The Ed Sullivan Show and Band-Maid is up there with every classic band I recall from that time up until today.
Fun reaction. Thanks. Check out some of their newer songs like Influencer, Blooming, and Shambles. You'll see that the lead vocalist has a range of skills and the the rest of the band has really progressed from their early days.
It's not hyperbole when I say you could literally pick any song. Here are some songs I like from Band Maid ( in no particular order): Honkai, brand new road, start over, order, alone, Arcadia girl, choose me, why why why, chemical reaction, don't apply the brake, shake that, glory, Beauty and the beast, don't you tell me, bubble, daydreaming, different, don't let me down, the nonfiction days, moratorium, cross, take me higher, time, secret my lips, fate, Rock in me, clang, turn me on, wonderland, bubble, the dragon cries, warning, blooming, no god, afterlife, hgk, Giovanni, from now on, corallium, influencer, shambles, before yesterday, I still seek revenge, freezer, reincarnation(rinne)
Thank you for reacting to Band-Maid, the best hardrock band on the planet, and my favorite band of all times. Band-Maid are an amazing live band. Please react to After Life (2021), or From Now On, (2022) or Protect U (2024). We the fans describes Band-Maid as their own genre, because of the way Band-Maid mixes many styles of music into their hardrock base. No matter which song you react to, you can't go wrong because Band-Maid have no bad songs. Greetings from Norway 🙂
Thanks for reacting to Band-Maid, my favorite rock band!! 🎸 🤘 please react to more, there are tons more to listen to. I love that you kept saying Band-Maiden, since it combines two of my favorite bands, Band-Maid and Iron Maiden.
Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!
@@Davey-Boyd Davey: I’ve been meaning to ask: How old ARE you? I mean, theoretically you could have lived for a few years OFF this planet, right? Cheers!
Leo, Congratulations on improving your life today!!! 🎉 Great reaction and review to the Maids!! They are truly extraordinary, indeed! In fact, they are arguably the best hard rock band on the planet 🌎 right now. 🔥🎼 As great as any one song, like “Choose Me”, is…it’s but a tiny sliver of the extreme excellence that are BAND-MAID. I hope you keep checking them out! Next, I recommend you check out the following high-quality LIVE video of the Maids at their 10th Anniversary concert (known as an Okyuji or “Service” - the Maids “Serve” the audience with their music. 😂) - “Don’t You Tell ME” - official LIVE video They also have song “Bestie” that was co-written by Band-Maid and Mike Einzinger of Incubus that I think you’ll like. You will come to see that they are some of the most capable, creative and interesting composers, arrangers, songwriters, instrumentalists, orchestrators, performers and players on the planet 🌎 by their own right. They did perform music written for them initially on their first EP, Maid in Japan (2014) They then gradually co-wrote lyrics, vocal melodies and harmonies and then music compositions over their next 2 EP’s: * New Beginning (2015) * Brand New Maid (2016) They had their first fully independent song, “Alone”, on their third EP “Brand New Maid”released in May 2016. And they’ve done everything themselves since. 4 full length Studio Albums * Just Bring It (2017) * World Domination (2018) * Conqueror (2019) * Unseen World (2021) And many EP smaller releases, including a long EP, “Unleash” in Oct, 2022. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unleash_(EP) And then there’s their arch-enemies (😂) Band-Maiko But kudos to them for reaching out and seeking to expand their musical collaborators. They also co-wrote, recorded and co-performed a song with the Mexican Villarreal sisters of The Warning ⚠️ that’ll be released on the Maids upcoming album. Btw, If you don’t know The Warning, you need to check them out! After the previousy mentioned songs, some other must heard are: - From Now On - OMV, Saiki’s pee break. 😂 - “Hate?” - OLV - “Unleash!!!” - OMV - “Dice” - OMV Then dozens more. Take care and rock on 🤘🏼🔥🌎🎸🥁🎤🙌🏼🎼😎✌🏼
Band maid is built on the Maid-Cafe culture in Japan. The backup singer was the one who started the band thinking it would be cool to be dressed as cute maids playing hard rock

@@LEO_IS_VIBINGG Here you go, this is the rest of that file. Band Maid was started in 2013 by Miku Kobato. At the time she had just left the Idol Group, Lil Cumin and she didn't like the type of music she had been performing. She approached her management agency with the idea of making an actual band playing rock music but dressed as maids. She had worked in a Maid Cafe and thought the image of maids playing rockin music would create what she called "The Gap" between what you see and what you hear. The Management company was like Ok, go ahead. Miku then looked around and found Kanami a singer/songwriter who was posting her own videos on the internet. Miku had her agency contact her and Kanami thought the idea was cool and agreed to join. Miku then asked if Kanami knew a drummer who might be interested. Kanami had worked with Akane in the past and there is 2 versions of this, the first is, Kanami literally walked over to Akane's apartment and asked her, the second is Kanami called Akane and asked her. (Akane has said in 2 different interviews that 1: Kanami called her and asked if she could come over and 2: in a second interview Kanami just came over) Akane was actually hesitant as she had worked in an "All Girl Group" before and didn't enjoy it as it wasn't the type of music she wanted to play. After hearing a Demo, Akane was like ok, but was still slightly hesitant because of the "Maid Outfits", but she agreed to give it a try. Akane was asked if she knew a bass player and she had gone to Tokyo School of Music with MISA and had worked a couple of jobs with her. So Misa was contacted and after she heard a demo she was like I like the music, but she also was hesitant about the "Maid Outfits", but she relented and joined in as she really wanted to play the kind of music she heard in the demo. The 3 of them then "Auditioned" for the record company and passed the audition. Now we have the "Core" members. The 4 members worked out some songs provided for them by the record company, and a setlist and they had performed 3 times with just Miku on main vocals. Miku after those performances felt that her voice wasn't powerful enough to really perform the songs she wanted. So she approached her management company again and asked if they had any singers who weren't in other projects. They then auditioned several singers. Miku heard Saiki rehearsing in a room across the hall and asked if she could be auditioned, the record company then had Saiki audition. Saiki was signed to the same management company and had done some work as a backup singer and dancer and was asked if she would be interested in auditioning for this new group which currently had 4 members and she would be the fifth. She had been a member of a group with 8 other people as a backup singer and dancer, and HATED it. So she listened to the demo and thought "Cool" because she liked the music. Now we come to the tricky part. Miku KNEW that if Saiki was told about the "Maid Outfits" she would say NO WAY!, so they didn't tell her. They told her they would have "Cool/cute Clothes"(I've read it translated either way), and she never met Miku until a few days before they had a contracted performance. She wasn't told about the "Maid Outfits" until the day before the performance, and she had considered backing out, but she had signed the contract. (Saiki also had NEVER met Miku until then as well) So the Ladies, went and did the performance and Saiki really, REALLY liked the crowds reaction and the music they were performing. She DIDN'T like the apron she wore so it got ditched after the first performance. And you now have the beginnings of the BEST LIVE HARD ROCK BAND in the WORLD! ALL HAIL BAND MAID!!!!! Now that we have the Full band, it was felt that there needed to be a second guitar. Saiki was like, "Not Me, No Way." So Miku said, "I'll do it.", at first that was literally all she did, was hold the guitar and mime playing it, until Akane said, if you are going to hold it, you NEED to learn to play it. And Miku said, "Ok.", and Kanami started to teach Miku how to play. The Ladies released their first album in 2014 "Maid in Japan" which failed to chart, but later after "Thrill" it was reissued and charted to #26 in Japan.
Then in 2015 they released "New Beginning" On New Beginning was the song that changed Band Maid's entire existence. "Thrill"... The band was getting ready to release their first music video and the choice was between "Love, Passion, Matador" and "Thrill" and the ladies chose Thrill. (Little known fact, Miku helped with the lyrics on Thrill but did not get credited) This became the seminal moment of Band Maid. Because their second album charted at #64, the record company was seriously considering disbanding the Ladies and switching them to other projects. (In fact they had Kanami and Akane work with Mochi to Cheese thinking that when Band Maid cratered they could use them in another band. MISA had also just started working with Mochi to Cheese as well). However about 6 months after the video's release, a Facebook page "JRock Radio" posted the video to their timeline. And the video went viral. Having over a million views in just a few short weeks. The Ladies Twitter page got so many hits they thought their page had been hacked. Their UA-cam channel also started getting more and more subscribers and views to Thrill. Now the ladies knew where their fans wanted them to go. Harder Rock, less pop. And history was Maid. Remember, if you have any questions, just ask, either in a video or the comment section. I or any of the other "Maidiacs" would be glad to answer.
They should do a really heavy album, (or at least a couple of songs) as 'Band Maiden' !! It worked with Band Maiko so why not? C'mon girls, drop the HAMMER!! ➰
Nice reaction. So i subsctibed, About their song ,,, there are more then 120 songs in their 10 actually 11 years long carier. (first video is THRILL the last one PROTECT YOU) In september is coming out their new album Epic Narratives.
Domination by Band Maid live in Japan 2020 , also Freedom live . These girls jam on the songs live , so always better than videos studio clips. Best Hard Rock band on th planet , hands down.
Hello, I hope you are having a wonderful day! If you think this is great, wait until you see them perform live. I'd suggest the Official Live video for "Domination" or "Hate?" as a starting point, the official live video for "Don't You Tell ME" is also great. You really can't go wrong with any of their songs. Please take care and have an awesome week.
Welcome to the "Pigeon Hole"! Here's a guide to everything BAND-MAID: www.youtube.com/@Ohrenje. They just announced the 9/25 release of their new album "Epic Narratives" which includes their colab with The Warning.
Best rock band on the planet. Watch anything live, that's the best way to view them. Most would tell you to watch DOMINATION live next, I prefer HATE? live from Yokohama Arena. You're going to have a lot of fun. The more you see and hear the more you'll realize how special this band really is.
Welcome to the fandom! ♥ these girls! I suggest these Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Bubble, Manners, No God (live) & Puzzle (live) I also suggest The Warning. They're another great all female band from Mexico. I suggest these TW songs: Money, Sick, Automatic Sun, Enter Sandman (official video with Alessia Cara), Evolve (live VMAs) & Dust To Dust (live Teatro) Both bands are big fans of each other and have recently done a song collab which they debuted live as the final song of a joint concert in Tokyo. Oh and I was there! ♥
There just might be a few BAND-MAIDEN fans out here. 😉 Go pick a song. Pick whatever song title catches your eye. I can guarantee it will be excellent.
Their MV for DICE introduced me to Band Maid 4 1/2 years ago. Since then, there has not been one day that I haven't listened to them for at least an hour or more. Daily,I watch all of the reactions I can find of their music; that's how I found you. I'm subscribed now. You've got the right idea to check out their YT page,www.youtube.com/@BANDMAID/videos,where you will find 52 mv's; there are others posted on YT. Welcome to our family of Maidiacs.
Nice reaction! Let's give a push down this rabbit hole :) Japanese women band / fronted / containing, metal / rock / punk starter list. Lovebites - The Hammer Of Wrath live Nemophila - Ama Te Ras live Hanabie - We Love Sweets mv Maximum The Hormone - Yoshu Fukushu mv Band-Maid (aka Band-Maiden) - Domination live Broken By The Scream - Sayonara Birthday mv Otoboke Beaver - Don't Light My Fire mv Aldious - Go Away mv Fate Gear - Battle Against Justice mv Passcode - Taking You Out mv Gacharic Spin - I Wish I mv Unlucky Morpheus - Angreifer live Mellows - Closet mv Bridear - Still Burning mv Ladybaby - Nippon Manju mv Mary's Blood - Marionette mv Mardelas - Patriot Anthem mv Trident - Kick Ass mv Show Ya - Fairy dvd version Gallhammer - Blind My Eyes live (ruin of a church)
You will probably like their live versions more than their studio versions. Both are great. But Band Maid are *VERY* fun to watch live, and they add things to their songs when performing live that takes things to a higher level. The main exception to this is their instrumental song From Now On (Official Music Video), which I strongly recommend. My favorite song at the moment is Hate? (Official Live Video).
Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band. Miku Kobato - mee-koo - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist, tireless Spokespigeon and PR machine. Wielder of weapons grade cuteness. Poker shark and horse racing fanatic. So determined to see her band succeed that she fired herself as lead singer (she decided her voice wasn't strong enough for hard rock), then went looking for a replacement. Learned to play guitar after the band was formed. Definitely eccentric, possibly insane. Kanami Tono - kah-nah-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, principal composer and arranger. On stage, she's a savant mad riffer with a room temperature IQ and a huge crush on Saiki. In reality, she's a genius, and not just musically- she has a degree in economics with honors. A sweet, motherly woman who turns into a beast when you hand her a guitar. Akane Hirose - ah-kah-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have. What you see is what you get- a cheerful jock with a huge appetite who burns off the calories murdering her drums. Completely unflappable. Frequently snacks between songs. Has been known to sign her banana peels and throw them to the audience. MISA - mee-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work. Usually stone faced. Barely acknowledges the audience's existence. Always has a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam on her Orange amp. Originally, these were ways of coping with stage fright. These days, that's just how the assassin rolls. Saiki Atsumi - sah-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl. Fashionista and train nerd. Regards her band mates, especially Kanami and Miku, with bemused exasperation. In total command on stage; hides behind Miku off stage (she's actually kind of shy).
Great reaction with sharp analysis! Subbed! Looking forward to seeing more perceptive reactions from you. 😃 Are there any Band-Maid fans out here? Hahaha!😉
Thank you for reacting to BandMaid! Watching your natural reaction was quite enjoyable. I am also glad that more young ladies are starting to discover BM also. I've discovered BM a year and a half ago and i now own all their CDs, Blu-rays, and tons of tight fitting BM Tshirts....lol
Thanks, Leo, nice reaction! Band-Maid's core is hard rock, but they incorporate many other styles seamlessly, as you will see if you listen to other songs. All songs are catchy, complex, well-crafted and well-executed; and, omg, so consistently great. Suggestions: Hate? (live at Yokohama) or Domination for more thrilling hard rock; Rinne, Warning (MV) for heavier, metal-influenced; Daydreaming or endless story for beautiful ballads; From Now On or Onset for incredible instrumentals. So much more, but you might also be interested in their alter-ego band, Band-Maiko: try Gio-Cho -- the MV and music are both gorgeous. You want to slow down? Try Bestie or Catharsis (acoustic).
I'm glad you liked Band-Maid ! I think the last song that you were talking about is "Bestie" and I recommend you to listen to it for sure but every other song is good too😆
Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-Maid Princess Leo! You've discovered the best rock band (IMHO) with a deep and diverse portfolio, Don't try to place them in a genre as you will discover they mix and match genre in the same song. The genre is Band-Maid. Enjoy the journey. Other Maidiac have made suggestions for songs and you can't miss with any of them, so enjoy the journey, PO!🕊🤘😆🤘 BTW...the Maids call their fans Masters and Princesses. Their live concerts Okyu-ji's (which translate to "Servings"). Then there are the Maid outfits, their Maid Battle Armor, which has evolved over the years to match their personalities. All staying in line with the Japan Maid Cafe theme.
Band-Maid is quite possibly the best live rock band on the planet. There are several recent songs on the Band-Maid UA-cam channel which are Official Live Videos from their 10th anniversary tour final at Yokohama Arena. Don't You Tell ME and Hate? are bangers that include guitar vs bass duel battles. The last song of the concert and tour, Endless Story, is a tear jerker ballad that even choked up the singer Saiki and drummer Akane. Some other song suggestions for you are Moratorium, No God, Rinne, Onset, From Now On, Without Holding Back, About Us, Play, Why Why Why, Clang, and Matchless Gum. They have a catalog of over one hundred great songs. If you are not fond of one then choose another because it will be much different than the one before it and the next one to follow. Have fun with it!
Welcome to BAND-MAID , Enjoy your journey down the Pigeon hole , MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! the Barefoot Bass Assassin, next song Thrill offical MV from 2014 , one thing to much talking over the music n solo .
Suggestions for other all female bands- Japanese try Nemophila, Hanabie, Love Bites, Nek!...Mexico - The Warning (3 sisters). Also, check out Asterism. The lead guitarist is female and slays!
Welcome, Leo to the rabbit hole of Band Maiden or Iron Maids, as you may call them. I simply call them the Maids. They founded their band in 2013, so there are a lot of songs in their catalog and different genres of rock. Memorable, About us, Daydreaming, Anemone, Bestie, Wonderland, Glory, Blooming, Sayonakidori, you will surely please, like Choose Me. I could name 50 others but I'll stop there. THANKS.
You have been found by Band maid fans from all over the world, and we have put your channel in our watch list already. Be careful, you will get a lot of comments and information about Band Maid like heavy rain. Please go for "Freedom(Live)" for next reaction. Thank you for picking up Band Maid.
I laughed when you asked if there were any Band-Maid fans here. "She's in for it now." Previous comments have done a good job. Here is a link to a 101 about the Maids; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Band-Maid Ah, here is a little something. Band-Maid was preparing for a big concert in Japan when covid hit and everything shut down. They wrote a song for their fans which they presented in one of their online okiyujis. It is called About Us. I don't listen to it often because it makes me cry every time. ua-cam.com/video/qicgVAxCYV8/v-deo.html
Band -Maid is only the best band ever. Enjoy seeing people experience them for the first time. Try "Hate?" official live video from Yokohama. Can probably do any other song after that because there are no wrong choices.
Welcome , you are now entering the pigeon hole. Slide down and enjoy. What do you say we kick it up a notch or 3? Here a list DICE Play Blooming Freedom (live from 2019) Puzzle Rinne (music video) Black Hole Hate? (Live) Good fun
Band Maid is special, and you will definitely like them 100% better if you just pull up the live videos, instead. This is true for every one of their songs. Suggest LIVE Domination, Manners with Black Hole, Daydreaming, Play, Freedom, Hate.
There is a huge world of rock and metal female bands in Japan, and are all amazing: Band Maid, of course, and the Lovebites (I recommend you, great metal band), Nemophila, Bridear, Yokai, Hanabie... If you begin this trip you will not return back :)
OH MY GOD 😱
I did NOT expect this to blow up. 🥹
Since so many people were enthusiastic about this video and so many people love BAND-MAID, I will do a video analysis of their career 😄 I'll try putting it out in August, I'll tell you about the date with a community post. ❤🔥FOllow me to make sure you don't miss it! I might also do more reactions to their songs. ☺
Have a wonderful day!!
EDIT: I will try to respond to all the comments wish me luck
From Japan
BAND-MAID is a Japanese female band that is always in the top three.
Band -Maid always blows people's reaction channels up! They are the best band ever.
Leo: Thanks for the review!
The MAIDS have held me captive since I discovered them in January. Their individual talents are simply off the charts. Combined they are absolute monsters!
Try these videos and you’ll understand:
REAL EXISTENCE (official live)
FROM NOW ON (MV)(instrumental)
HATE? (Live from Yokohama)
You can thank me later!
More BAND-MAID please!
@@JohnGioffredi-gi7zd damn damn damn I'm taking notes ✍️✍️✍️ there are too many videos to watch and make reactions 😂 that's so exciting
@@LEO_IS_VIBINGG Yes, but my song recommendations are the BEST! 😆
And don't forget to mention that their fan base is absolutely international. Me, for example, am Spanish.
And I'm from Netherlands 🇳🇱❤🇯🇵🤘

11 years and 130+ songs of pure Greatness 💥❤️ They have it all..Passion 🔥 Work 💪 Heart ❤️ Talent 🤘 Magical band, amazing musicians, close friends. For me..Kanami Tōno, lead guitar and composer, is the most impressive musician of 21st Century. Pure genius as a composer, very unselfish, composes always to the whole band. On stage, True Rock n’ Roll Star. They are pure magic, never seen better liveband. Lovin’ Band-Maid ❤️
An the fandom is A+ 🩷

Thank you for your reaction to BAND-MAID.
I wrote all your recommendations thank you! ALSO 130 SONGS WOW!!!
(from their own Anime MV (series?)): ua-cam.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/v-deo.html)
And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. ua-cam.com/users/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYUJI concerts:
2023 Yokohama 10th Year Anniversary Concert “Endless Story” ua-cam.com/video/Za1y-RRVd70/v-deo.html

Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and other full concerts are on bandmaidprime.tokyo, bili, and official Band-Maid’s DVD/BD/CD.
And some of the better quality fan videos are excellent. Here’s two of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at an intimate venue:

If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, live streams, CD, DVD/BD & merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo
Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.

Band-Maid Members:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.

The Maids are one of the hardest working supergroups in the business! Their music, their sound, each of the Maids, and the love that permeates their live events is an experience not to be missed. Hope you can catch them LIVE!
Welcome into the Pigeon Hole that is Band-Maid! These ladies love what they do and each other! Eleven years in and no end in sight! Enjoy the ride!
I'm a sucker for good live artists, I'm waiting to film reactions videos on them next week but y'all are making me impatient lol
I think Band Maiden would be a compliment. They all have to be in their 30s by now. I saw them in Seattle almost 2 years ago they were fantastic.
I was in that crowd, right in front of Misa.
Believe me, if you've already enjoyed this one, you're in for an amazing journey! I'm only saying 130+ songs and not a single bad one among those! (It's true!) A recommendation for the next video? With pleasure. :) 'Domination' (Live!)

Great reaction and that's OK as they are all maidens. We know what you meant. And you have found your new best band.
Haha I was so mad at myself for getting the name wrong while I was editing, I'm glad people are not mad :)
Welcome newest Princess Leo to the world of Band Maid 🌍 ❤
You chose a wonderful first song to react to. Only their third single, which became quite a hit for them. So much so that they served up two versions during their 10th Anniversary show last year.
Please choose whatever song you’re drawn to; at the same time, I think it would be fun for you to see what sort of sounds they came up with soon after “Choose Me.”
“the non-fiction days,” official music video, is another early example of Band Maid doing wonderfully Band Maid things.
Wherever you go? Maidiacs will follow 🐦
You are way too sweet 🩷 thank you very much for all the recommendations
Thanks for reacting to the greatest hard rock band in the world! Wait until you hear them live. I'll recommend the official live videos for Play, Don't You Tell Me, Puzzle, Domination, Onset, Hate?, Freedom, and Endless Story. And definitely still listen to this song and all of their music!
Saw them live twice last year on their US tour. Incredible musicians. They are rock stars.
Yes a few fans still here as are the maids. Into their 11th year, same members, they have bonded into a great unit and become best friends as well. Wait until you check out some of their live videos..
I can't wait!!! (Saving myself for when I film reactions next week)
Welcome to Band-Maid. Their entire repertoire is great, you could continue to react to any song you like and it'll be good. Their live songs are often the best though. The new song "Hate?" live is the new hotness.
Welcome our new princess, we are glad you're enjoying the maids,
I'm glad!!! I needed more women doing rock in my life
Absolutely the best rock band on the planet.
@@etoineschrdlu9382 ok I have to write down to listen to their new album ✍️
@@LEO_IS_VIBINGG The new album is titled "Epic Narratives" and it will release on September 25, 2024. I have mine on pre-order.
THE best Hard Rock band on the planet. Iron Band Maiden!
They are rock and roll guardian angels and the best hard rock band on this planet🤘Keep an eye on them!!
Fun reaction. Thanks. Check out some of their newer songs like Influencer, Blooming, and Shambles. You'll see that the lead vocalist has a range of skills and the the rest of the band has really progressed from their early days.
It's not hyperbole when I say you could literally pick any song. Here are some songs I like from Band Maid ( in no particular order):
Honkai, brand new road, start over, order, alone, Arcadia girl, choose me, why why why, chemical reaction, don't apply the brake, shake that, glory, Beauty and the beast, don't you tell me, bubble, daydreaming, different, don't let me down, the nonfiction days, moratorium, cross, take me higher, time, secret my lips, fate, Rock in me, clang, turn me on, wonderland, bubble, the dragon cries, warning, blooming, no god, afterlife, hgk, Giovanni, from now on, corallium, influencer, shambles, before yesterday, I still seek revenge, freezer, reincarnation(rinne)
YO, Arcadia Girl !! Represent people!
@@JayDavisAtHome Jay: You listed over 40 songs. It’s easier to say: “Just pick any of them. They’re all bad ass!” Cheers, fellow MAIDIAC!
@@JohnGioffredi-gi7zd it's just to get them started
Thank you for all these recommendations!!!!!! It's so great but also overwhelming wow
The greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century! They're BandMaid and their life is dope!
Band Maid 🎀has 130+songs that range from good to GREAT🐯a favorite of mine is freezer🥶❄
Thanks so much lovely reaction!
How about Puzzle is the next song?
I hope you`ll enjoy it! Thanks.
Thanks for reacting to Band-Maid, my favorite rock band!! 🎸 🤘 please react to more, there are tons more to listen to. I love that you kept saying Band-Maiden, since it combines two of my favorite bands, Band-Maid and Iron Maiden.
haha exactly I decided to go on with my own band mashup lol
Best rock band in our space and time continuum.
Congratulations you just found the best band on the planet🤘🎎🤘🎎🔥🔥🔥🔥. Check out their live music,
Well..
They are the *Shield Maidens of Rock*
🎀🎀🎀
Welcome to the world of BandMaid! Good first react. Definitely you need watch now Freedom live! Believe me, is Amazing! See you! 🤟🦊🇯🇵🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cheers!
@@JohnGioffredi-gi7zd Feels like I've lived off this planet sometimes lol! As I said to Gary, I got my age wrong, I'm actually 58 in a few days.
Really before anything else, you should listen to Choose Me live in concert. Trust me. Trust us. Same song but you'll be amazed all over again.
Ok that's noted!!! I have a lot of videos to film hehe
Welcome home, new Princess, Po! 🕊️👑🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
Hej Leo !
welcome to the world of Band-Maid.
Glad to have you on this interesting journey !
I'm so in 😂 even joined a BM discord
Best Band in the World
Can a reaction to Iron Maidenden be far behind? Kidding. Glad you like our Maids :)
Leo, Congratulations on improving your life today!!! 🎉
Great reaction and review to the Maids!! They are truly extraordinary, indeed! In fact, they are arguably the best hard rock band on the planet 🌎 right now. 🔥🎼
As great as any one song, like “Choose Me”, is…it’s but a tiny sliver of the extreme excellence that are BAND-MAID. I hope you keep checking them out!
Next, I recommend you check out the following high-quality LIVE video of the Maids at their 10th Anniversary concert (known as an Okyuji or “Service” - the Maids “Serve” the audience with their music. 😂)
- “Don’t You Tell ME” - official LIVE video
They also have song “Bestie” that was co-written by Band-Maid and Mike Einzinger of Incubus that I think you’ll like.
You will come to see that they are some of the most capable, creative and interesting composers, arrangers, songwriters, instrumentalists, orchestrators, performers and players on the planet 🌎 by their own right.
They did perform music written for them initially on their first EP,
Maid in Japan (2014)
They then gradually co-wrote lyrics, vocal melodies and harmonies and then music compositions over their next 2 EP’s:
* New Beginning (2015)
* Brand New Maid (2016)
They had their first fully independent song, “Alone”, on their third EP “Brand New Maid”released in May 2016.
And they’ve done everything themselves since.
4 full length Studio Albums
* Just Bring It (2017)
* World Domination (2018)
* Conqueror (2019)
* Unseen World (2021)
And many EP smaller releases, including a long EP, “Unleash” in Oct, 2022.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unleash_(EP)
And then there’s their arch-enemies (😂)
Band-Maiko
But kudos to them for reaching out and seeking to expand their musical collaborators. They also co-wrote, recorded and co-performed a song with the Mexican Villarreal sisters of The Warning ⚠️ that’ll be released on the Maids upcoming album.
Btw, If you don’t know The Warning, you need to check them out!
After the previousy mentioned songs, some other must heard are:
- From Now On - OMV, Saiki’s pee break. 😂
- “Hate?” - OLV
- “Unleash!!!” - OMV
- “Dice” - OMV
Then dozens more.
Take care and rock on 🤘🏼🔥🌎🎸🥁🎤🙌🏼🎼😎✌🏼

(Saiki also had NEVER met Miku until then as well)
So the Ladies, went and did the performance and Saiki really, REALLY liked the crowds reaction and the music they were performing.
Then in 2015 they released "New Beginning"
On New Beginning was the song that changed Band Maid's entire existence. "Thrill"...
The band was getting ready to release their first music video and the choice was between "Love, Passion, Matador" and "Thrill" and the ladies chose Thrill. (Little known fact, Miku helped with the lyrics on Thrill but did not get credited)
This became the seminal moment of Band Maid.

I did a video reaction to domination and hate live 🩷

Best rock band on the planet. Watch anything live, that's the best way to view them. Most would tell you to watch DOMINATION live next, I prefer HATE? live from Yokohama Arena. You're going to have a lot of fun. The more you see and hear the more you'll realize how special this band really is.
Welcome to the fandom! ♥ these girls! I suggest these Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Bubble, Manners, No God (live) & Puzzle (live)
I also suggest The Warning. They're another great all female band from Mexico.
I suggest these TW songs: Money, Sick, Automatic Sun, Enter Sandman (official video with Alessia Cara), Evolve (live VMAs) & Dust To Dust (live Teatro)
Both bands are big fans of each other and have recently done a song collab which they debuted live as the final song of a joint concert in Tokyo. Oh and I was there! ♥
@6:37 The Maidiacs will show no worries 😉

Welcome to the club !
Check out the amazing all female Japanese rock band called Nemophila next and their song RISE or Revive!
Now watch this same one Live. We will still watch it
It's planned! Someone asked it also in the comments
Great reaction with sharp analysis! Subbed! Looking forward to seeing more perceptive reactions from you. 😃
Are there any Band-Maid fans out here?
I'm really happy I discovered them, and yes I started to realise the fandom is mostly made of men, it's great !
I think the last song that you were talking about is "Bestie" and I recommend you to listen to it for sure but every other song is good too😆
🍺🤪
🤘Love Band Maid!!🤘 Please, pick a Live performance next.... Checkout "Hate" live at Yokohama Arena
Other Maidiac have made suggestions for songs and you can't miss with any of them, so enjoy the journey, PO!🕊🤘😆🤘
BTW...the Maids call their fans Masters and Princesses. Their live concerts Okyu-ji's (which translate to "Servings"). Then there are the Maid outfits, their Maid Battle Armor, which has evolved over the years to match their personalities. All staying in line with the Japan Maid Cafe theme.
This is one of my favourite songs but thing is I like all of there songs even the poppy songs.
For something more recent and live I recommend "Hate?" from the Yokohama Arena.
Absolutely, Band-Maid has fams from all over the world. Maybe the galaxy!
I'm sure you will get plenty of suggestions. So all I'll say is welcome to the world of Band-Maid. Enjoy the ride.
❤ThankS & WELCOME HOME PRINCESS to BAND MAID 😱😱😱😱😱😱 banD maideNnNNN 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😁☺️😌😊
Haha thank you, I'm so done with myself butchering their name almost the whole video 😂
The LIVE version is even better!
Freedom, Alone, About Us, Blooming, ONSET, PLAY, Moratorium, MatchlessGUM, Sense, Influencer.... go to their page and pick one. THRILL started it...

Ah, here is a little something. Band-Maid was preparing for a big concert in Japan when covid hit and everything shut down. They wrote a song for their fans which they presented in one of their online okiyujis. It is called About Us. I don't listen to it often because it makes me cry every time.

Oh thank you I'll check this song out, is it a good idea?? I cry super easily lol

Thank you!!! This is one of the most exciting discoveries I've had in a long time, probably the best this year 🩷
Band -Maid is only the best band ever.
Here a list

Freedom (live from 2019)

Good fun

Sorry, several people have pointed this out, so I'll make it louder next time, I was afraid we wouldn't hear my commentary 🙈
