My late father would have loved this. He was a woodturner in large part of his life. Still have his workbench, tools and many of things he made in wood. Rest in peace father. Hopefully you have many hours in Heaven doing what you loved. Woodturning.
You sir, must lay in bed dreaming about your work. The love and dedication you put into your creations is obvious for everyone to see. Beautiful, thank you for posting.
This video has reignited my passion for woodworking! The passion and love for the craft shine through in every frame. Can't wait to get back into the workshop
This is what I appreciate about the Internet; I'm a minimalist, don't like to own lots of "stuff," but I do enjoy looking at things. Beautiful items, such as this wonderfully done vase, are a real joy---and seeing it doesn't take up one atom of space in my home, and nobody can destroy it (hate going to museums because of so many undisciplined cretins visiting them anymore). I can come back to this video as many times as I want, and then move on to the next video of beautiful things. That is excellent work, sir, simply exquisite!
That circular jig is a work of art, what a genius device. I’ve blown out many pieces of burl before, but with the resins & a jig like that, I might have better luck. That’s a beautiful process, & an even more impressive finish.
It's been a long time, but I remember working on the lathe making tables, vases, foot stools, etc., all that cutting, gluing, sanding, etc. Very rewarding work. You do great work. Very nice.
@gooHero I don’t get your post. Meaningless? The guy just showed us you can make a vase from one of the most difficult and often discarded pieces of a tree. In a world that is going to the crapper due to greedy and ignorant people tearing down trees and eating up our natural reassures, for a guy to be able to make a container out of something they aren’t normally made of, deserves praise.
Not just an amazing talent, but the vision to see the finished article from what others might consider as waste. That is a real gift abd thank you for sharing!
not sure why I was recommended this video but it was so fascinating, im glad I was! What a beautiful product, its so shiny at the end, I really want to touch it!!
I was thinking "Hm interesting color choices, let's see how that turns out" - didn't expect it to fully mix into a brownish color to match like that! Awesome work
I have to say that I normally don't like wood with resin, but you picked very organic colors for this, so it doesn't look out of place (the resin, that is). I think this vase is quite gorgeous.
My dad used to have a lathe. My brother got into woodworking with it. His wife would suggest he make her a particular item (a simple, Ford-type item) and he'd present her with a Cadillac! A true artist!! 😊 I really enjoy watching these!
This is just stunning! It was something to watch you create this piece of art. You are truly an artist to be able to look at that humble root and see that gorgeous, finished one-of-a-kind vase. Incredible!!
I have been saving roots for a while knowing that I would be able to make something beautiful out of them but I never imagined what you have done thank you very much for adding another way to make simple raw trees into a beautiful piece of furniture
A section of tree isn't trash, it's wood. We and nature have many uses for it. Epoxy resin is a petroleum product, requiring dirty industry, unlike wood and other materials we've used for thousands of years to make things like a vase or a table, for which you simply select more ideal material rather than scrap which must be filled with synthetic industrial product.
Please turn your life to Jesus the rapture is about to take place any moment now bible says “no man comes to the farther but by me”we really don’t have a lot of time left so much bible prophecy has came to life it’s only a matter of time they is going to be hell on earth for 7 years if your left behind believe me you don’t want to be may God bless your soul and I hope you read this message with a open mind🙏❤️
Even though the concept is different, this puts me in mind of my rock tumbler. My rocks start off rough and dull, but afterwards they come out smooth and shiny!
If the value of craftsmanship is measured by turning something that has no value into a beautiful piece of art, this project deserves 10/10.
Thank you so much 😀
Equally, creating something which is unique.
No one anywhere on the planet has a vase with identical markings to this vase.
How much are they btw?
They are amazing 🤩
I’d like to put one of my turds on that lathe
Невероятная красота !
Хочется бесконечно рассматривать эти изгибы и переплетения ...
Настоящий мастер - отсек все лишнее, и получилось чудо !
Great use of a gnarly rooted stump. Love the “worthless to worth it” transition! Awesome stuff!

I’ve never seen anything like this….
It’s beautiful, unique and timeless.
Love it.

The colours give me ancient Greek pottery vibes. Amazing work.
Thank you so much 😀
This gives me a greater appreciation for home made wood crafts !…the time, the patience

Действительно потрясающая работа, как пример того, что даже из совсем, на первый взгляд, неподходящего материала можно сделать произведение искусства!
