Well done, John. you're a natural fisherman. The being 'patient' is easier said than done when on a boat with several other anglers. If our skipper thinks there's a good fish snagged up then he might give it some time. I'm gagging to get out for a trip but it probably won't be until April for the charter as the boat's out of the water for some work for 6 weeks. I've loaded up with a large quantity of slow jigs and am going to give them more water time this year. Fishing vicariously with you helps to ease the lack of fishing trips. Might have to go fly fishing next week. Keep up the brilliant work. Max.

nice one john . ever tried putting an eel to sleep ? , old trick we used to use whilst longlining for them , put your left hand over the eels head and cover its eyes , then with your right hand place your thumb and forefinger on each lateral line either side of its body then pressing quite firmly move your hand towards the tail repeat this a few times until you feel the eel relax , you can then pick it up do what you want with it , just make sure you wake it up before releasing it , usually a quick tap will bring them round 😎
Last time I tried something like that it just went totally rigid. 😉🤣 You can lay them upside down I believe and they calm. The best way is a dark wet towel over the head.

We have been having some terrible weather, this was just the lull between 2 fronts.
@@TheFishLocker
Today first day we saw in weeks and 48 degrees, starting to see the grass in parts of backyard
cracking video again john bet you are very pleased about the dog fish haha
Haha. I did feel a slight pang of relief when one came aboard. I was like "Well, job done. I can go home now!"🤣
Making lockdown bearable John. Another good one. Just one Q which may be stupid but do wrasse go out with the tide or stay at the same location i.e. are their marks constantly under water?
If the mark is constantly under the water they live there.
I love how I called you catching a bigger bullhuss at the second anchor up.
Awesome stuff 👍👍
A mixed bag.Well done on getting the Conger out🐻🤗👍
Thanks mate, just goes to show a bit of patience and a good understanding of what your gear is doing on the seabed really helps. 😊
@@TheFishLocker yes very true experience and patience the two biggest things in angling.🐻🤗👍
Always a great pleasure to watch.
Thank you so much I am glad you enjoy the content 👍🏻👍🏻
Would really love to see more underwater footage! Very enjoyable
I do enjoy the underwater stuff, I have done is in quite a few videos before in the past. If you haven't seen them already have a look in the "Underwater videos" playlist. 😉
That second wrasse sure looked like the first wrasse you caught 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
It did didn't it. But under the chin was different.
Glad to see a new video I like your videos I'm from USA but my good friend lives in Cornwall been a few times would like to go again!!!!!!
I hope you get the opportunity to visit again Jon. Take care and have a wonderful day. 😊🎣
Hi John. Have been looking forward to this video all week. Can i ask how you set your float depth? If you use a rubber stopper does it spool onto the reel ok? Cheers Joe
I hope the video was worth the wait. 😉👍🏻
Another great video John, incredible how you know what fish is on the hook before bringing it out of the water. Toronto, Canada
Thank you Dominic, I hope you are safe and well 👍👍
Playing catch up today.... I loved the wrasse (spelling?). They are beautiful fish. Great video! I love the underwater footage!
Thats fine, I hope you are well Teresa. The underwater footage was cool wasn't it. 😊

Well done keep up the good work buddy 👍
Nice little spot isn't it. 😊
@@TheFishLocker 👍
Once again a thoroughly enjoyable video, question, when you fish for Ling do you keep them? What do you do with them? Curiosity has gotten me ... :)
Great underwater clip...
Ling are a great eating fish. We already have a catch and cook video on the channel. Great for pies and fishcakes 😉
@@TheFishLocker I have never eaten ling, so if I ever get to go fishing by wrecks i know that I can cook one if i catch it. :)
another great video john, thanks for sharing bud
Glad you enjoyed it Keith, my pleasure 😊
ocean life is so diverse, i hope i can fish in the ocean one day or more, yep. not near as diverse in Kansas freshwaters, though i have fun mostly, but like you said fishlocker in one of your recent vid.s that sometimes it is NOT, lol.
IT'S the last frontier, the oceans. More is known about Outer Space, than the oceans, & I would include the inland seas in that too; for example the Great Lakes.
Often it is not the catching, but it is the fishing that makes the day worth while 😊
Thankyou John, another great video. Is it normal to get Mackerel through the winter down there?
Very normal Alan. 😊
So you were fishing over a wrasse hole. Yeah I know, I can't help myself sometimes. Great episode. Take care and stay safe.
You sir have your mind in the gutter. 🤣
@@TheFishLocker "you sir??" You called me SIR.?? Haha. I thought to myself when I posted the previous comment, that yes you "sir" and your subscribers will have a GSOH, and accept that it was just a throw away comment. Again thank you John for sharing your experiences with us,. You stick around mate, and this subber will be there too. Atb from NZ. Take care.
nice one john
. ever tried putting an eel to sleep ? , old trick we used to use whilst longlining for them , put your left hand over the eels head and cover its eyes , then with your right hand place your thumb and forefinger on each lateral line either side of its body then pressing quite firmly move your hand towards the tail repeat this a few times until you feel the eel relax , you can then pick it up do what you want with it , just make sure you wake it up before releasing it , usually a quick tap will bring them round 😎
Last time I tried something like that it just went totally rigid. 😉🤣 You can lay them upside down I believe and they calm. The best way is a dark wet towel over the head.
Oh thanks thought my Sunday was gonna be boring, cheers for the video 📹 👍
Any time mate. 😉👍🏻
Great video John as always. Regarding your float setup are you fishing the prawn just of the bottom.
Regards
Darren.
Depends on how deep it is.
Another cracking video lad. Two questions is that a letterman surge you carry? And are you ex army ?
It's a weatherman Wave. Great tools. Ex RN 😊
Great days fishing, made me smile when you had yet another bull Huss. Live prawns used to = bass.
Not much will pass up a nice juicy prawn. 😉🎣
Great vid John, nice fish too 👏👏👍
Cheers mate. Tight lines bud. 😊
