My name is Carlos and I love Danny Trejo, my boss! I see him once a week and he tells me lots of great stories like these. He's the most humble man you can ever meet.
@@carlotapuig Pretty close although I hear Keanu Reeves is an original as well. Harrison Ford, also, apparently, didn't let too much of the glitz and glamor get to him either.

I saw Danny at the mad monster horror convention a few years back in Phoenix. He spoke to each and every one on a personal level. Much respect to this man.
@Brenda Koetters convicts and martial artist have the same weirdly calm energy, it takes a lot to shake them or get them worked up... talking about people I've dated not my personal experiences so I don't think I'll ever really get it, but I've been around it a ton.
Am I the only one who wants to know how to hypnotise yourself the way Manson did it to Danny them? Not to get high but to place yourself in a phenomenal mindset where you believe in yourself so much that you instantly become the best version of yourself.
This is a guest I NEVER expected to see on any podcast I follow. But damn, am I glad it happened. Followed his story a few years ago and knew of the time he spent "inside". Top notch work getting him Chris.
this was the best interview ive seen in a long time. so sick of tribal bs, it was refreshing to just listen to someone everyone likes talk about stuff most people dont know. Thanks for that, honestly.
What a great an insightful interview.. I'm from Chicago and when I was a young man I had serious IV drug problems I ended up homeless on the streets of LA and addicted to heroin by the grace of God I got into Tarzana Treatment Center and one Friday or Saturday evening guess who shows up at the treatment center to be the AA speaker for the night, none other than Danny Trejo wow what an incredible story this guy has I'll never forget him. By the way I've been clean and sober for over 12 years God is good🙂
My boyfriend was just telling me about Danny Trejo yesterday, whilst we were on a walk, saying I must know him as he's been in so many films, and telling me how he got his break in acting. Then this pops up! Crazy.
Cut your mic on your phone... You'd be surprised how much info these devices can extract from you. Most Androids give you the option to cut mic and cams on quick settings. Just FYI. Good day!
Chris, over the past 4 months or so you've really mastered the art of letting your guests talk just the right amount and only add anything when it needs a gentle steer. You'll be over a million in no time if you keep this up.
What a really nice guy, wouldn't like to get on his bad side but a guy you'd love to meet in a bar, buy him a drink and just listen to his stories. Great interview Chris, thanks
Just stumbled across this channel and you have such a great magnetism to you and you understand Danny with such a short time to react and capture his raw emotion in an amazing, authentic way. Subbed
I have always been entranced by everything this man has done in film... I could see he is the real deal. There is the recognition because I came from the same place... Thank you for this interview. One of the most interesting men in the shit that is Hollywood. Fascinating. I wish him all the best.... A man like this is a fine thing to see.
Aaaamazzzing Danny Trejo!! his story is fascinating and he tells it so lightheartedly. I appreciate his sense of humor and his humility. Thank you, Danny.. you're an awesome actor and storyteller. I can relate to where you come from.. and i'm intrigued as I listen. @24:38 . wow!! blessings..
I had a feeling he was talking about Bunker at the start of Getting into movies, i read Eddie's biography Mr Blue years ago after Reservoir Dogs came out and he tells more or less the same story. Brilliant interview. He's right about Education Of A Felon, all his books are quite decent considering his education.
Good stuff Chris! One of the other really neat things about Danny is that he made it big later in life. So often success is portrayed as a young man's game but that doesn't always have to be the case 😎
I love this interview. Danny’s like- I’m getting paid more to ACT like myself than actually be myself. Like- you’re going to pay me more to act like I’m robbing people than I make actually robbing people??
I was a teen that was always in trouble and found myself seeing a judge once a week and visiting a counselor twice a week, sometimes more. My senior year was weekends in jail and constant stress from drug tests and PO’s. I learned about Trejo through that program. I guess he made some content just for teens and he told his life story and some. It was split over a bunch of episodes and about once a week we’d watch a video of his. It was awesome. lol. I thought I was a certain somebody until I heard his story. I had yet to stay in prison for any longer than a weekend and they only ever put me in intake/receiving cells. I was lucky. I won’t say this guy changed my life, but he def helped me find a different perspective. I hope to meet him one day and tell him how he helped me do that.
He still talks like a convict. That's not an insult/bad thing, it's just a observation of a very distinctive way of speech/communication/exuding personality. I'm not sure the word I'm looking for.
Eye worked at Miami Spice in Marina del rey- Venice back in late 80's early 90's. Trejo's Sharing his Story brought up melancholy of all those friends and a world long changed.

Both my brothers met him at a Con in Indianapolis and they said he was the nicest and most friendly celebrity they ever met.
