Me too! I've always hated how blush seemed to just sit on my face despite blending. I always pick up a new technique every time I watch Wayne Goss. He is so incredible! Love him...

I follow him since 2008, he is now taking old technics and present them as new.
I have pretty severe rosacea, and this blush underneath the foundation "hack" has changed my life! I've never felt more confident in my cheeks. Before I would try to even out my skin tone by using concealers and foundations...now I just pack on the blush first, and for once, my skin looks even! Thank you. So much.

This is excellent! My son is almost twelve years old. By the time he gets into high school, he may (or may not) feel like perfecting his complexion with a routine like this. Either way, I now know what video to show him so he can be knowledgeable about cosmetics appropriate for him to feel more confident about his skin and his appearance should the need arise.
I'd love to hear about your tips for caring for acne prone skin, including anything that you suggest for diet and self care that has been helpful for you. He's likely to run into the usual teen acne and I have found that going through perimenopause has caused me to start breaking out with acne too.

I’ve been doing blush under a powder on my younger sister for a while now because she’s just in her teens and it gives a more natural look.
Chan M You’re definitely not crazy!! I have the oily skin, so I use loose powder over my blush in the morning. I touch up my face w pressed powder throughout the day- and it’s always looked natural :)

Wayne! I’m a man and I remember you showing this technique in a video a few years back and I STILL use this method until this day. Every time I do people always comment on how healthy my skin looks and no one ever suspects it’s make up. Honestly the most genius tip I’ve picked up from any makeup artist!

mandy Coleman you are not crap with makeup! Everyone can do it. A nice Sunscreen, moisturizer, then try a cushion foundation (Laneige is one of my favorites, but NYX makes a nice one that is very cheap to practice with), and I would pick up a beauty blender or cheaper alternative blender (real techniques has a nice one for around $7, and brush set. Grab a blush, do a simple two or even one color neutral eye look with a bit of mascara, lip tint and you’re good to go. Once you’re comfortable with a routine like that then maybe you will branch out with other products like highlight, bronzer, eye liner and so on.. if you already have a bunch of makeup products, practice before you go into the shower each night. OR stay beautifully as you are with some sunscreen! My main point was that anyone can do makeup IF they want. xx from NYC.

Halfofmyheart I love cushion foundations... I bought one from my local Korean market called Hard Cover- great for acne prone skin.... though, because I am olive toned, I use their darkest shade (tan-deep- sounds weird, because, I’m generally a true medium). For me, eye makeup is difficult - hooded eyes.
I use Laura Geller foundation it’s been baked and has several tones in it, it’s like bare minerals but not loose, you can layer it up to the desired look, I am watching tutorials too to learn as I am 49 and never bothered with make up when younger, but need to now as skin tone is becoming uneven, the lack of use has been fab for my skin though as I am told it looks good, just find products that you feel happy using, I love matts tutorials as they make me laugh too, I always feel good after watching them. x

Using blush to look like you've seen some sun without actually being burned is a great idea. Some of us don't naturally tan and bronzer looks unnatural. I often use that technique which I believe I picked up in one of your older videos.

You and that fly. Reminds me of my buddhist friend, cause when she sees a fly or other flying insect inside, she calls to it and shoo it out the window, "Here my sister go out side, my friend." Usually more flies will come in when shes trying to release the first one. Being the only buddhist in my family, I do alot of catch and release of various "pests" that my family doesnt like. Otherwise, they kill it.

So happy to hear about the Glossier mascara. I am very, very fair and have been trying for years to find a mascara that will merely darken my lashes without making them longer or clumpy or spidery. Maybe this is the one for me!

ctatis0917 I'm not Wayne, but i think this trick will work on every skin tone, and the blush color he used it's probably made for dark skin :-)

ctatis0917 if your skin is very dark i think you can use it even over foundation...maybe put a bit under and if you don't really notice it, add a bit over.. You can also try with a red creamy lipstick, I always use them as blush then blend and they work amazing! :)
Well you have to adapt your products. I agree with you, I don't think that under a full coverage liquid foundation this will show...mineral foundation are really not that full coverage and often times a but transluscent. Thats why they look so natural.

I do almost the same thing. I use the Malani Corallina blush and or the Pixi red blush stick. Love the "burnt/blush" look under my bronzer.

The cool thing about your techniques is, when i first started watching this video i was pretty sceptical about this, especially the blush thing, but as you went on you managed to convince me more and more! In the end it just suits you perfectly.

Omg the grimmers color is what my mom always used on my brother and I for carnival, and that was about 20 years ago. They have it in a lot of different colors and it is suitable for sensitive skin.

I do this everyday, you did a video similar to this years ago with cream! I use Mac face and body, water cream blush and blend away with a beauty blender. It’s so pretty!
I usually do 3 layers of sunscreen before applying make-up.

JP M I use a mixture of the Aveeno baby SPF 50 with the Avène tinted sunscreen. I use the Cerave as my moisturizer. How about you?

wow this is such a brilliant hack that i never thought of! i definitely have a tan complexion but my face can look pale or washed out easily and i love this sunburnt, glad i have an orangey blush like the nars one
Hi Wayne I have your brushes, almost all still got a couple to collect. Just a quick question with very careful washing (very occasional) Brush guards and when I do wash I just use tiniest amount black African soap in between washes I just use a microfibre cloth to remove any product not even my colour switch. How long will brushes last??? Also do you recommend any better way to care for them??? I love love love my brushes and obv want them to stay gorgeous for as long as poss as I feel they are unbeatable. I would be heart broken if anything happened to them. I hope you can answer just I want them to last as long as poss and stay in beautiful condition as in my opinion they make make up application so much better and a pleasure. Thanks Wayne as say hope you can let me know and thank you for creating these amazing brushes xxxx
I started doing blush similar late in high school, but always blended over my foundation because I was always a little jealous of the others girls that were always sunkissed and glowing from tanning but I wouldn’t dare touch a tanning bed!
Over ten years later I still do this, but I may have to try in under foundation!

That's the first time I've heard that a sunburn looked healthy lol. It certainly doesn't feel healthy haha. If people applied bronzer sparingly and with a light hand, there's no reason to touch the neck to match your face

The thing is, tans 'look' healthy. They're not. But they look it. All tans have a slight 'red' undertone. Hence the slight flush (burned) look in this video
I agree with the light hand on the bronzer. I’m pale, freckled, and I turn red easily. Like if I get hot, embarrassed, or try to tell a big lie I turn red. I use a light colored bronzer and a light hand.

I love doing the blush overdose in cream for my dry skin clients and then apply liquid foundation over top, just to give them that healthy rosy glow that you have achieved. ❤️

I have to try that blush technique! It looks amazing!! I’m really pale and I find that unless I apply a decent amount, I look really washed out. This seems like a much better way of doing it to ensure an even amount of colour

Carrie Mroczkowski are you in the UK? Boots no 7 do a lovely colour called cranberry. Very pigmented, but very natural flush colour. :
ELF recently added a red blush (Always Fiery). Didn’t look that red in the photo online, but surprise!!! It’s red.
