My Indy 500 had been sitting for 3 years, I put some fuel treatment and some octane boost in the tank and it started right up. :) (I also put some fuel treatment in when it was first put away.)
here is the issue I had. Sled ran fine the day before. the next day, I go to start it. I have the choke on, and the sled starts up. it starts to run high, which it normally does before it goes down and I turn off the choke. I turned off the choke too soon and it died. Then I couldn't get it to start again. Had to load it manually into the truck. I pulled the plugs, which were wet, and changed them, just in case. tried to fire up an hour later with no luck. cant get it to turn over
@@timpfaff7669if you forgot to turn the fuel off you might have had a stuck needle and flooded the bass with gas.... Basically hydro locking the engine
the plug wires coming out of the coil are crossed it prob doesn't matter on that rotax but if it was a polaris triples say an ultra 680 the firing order matters if you cross them won't run worth shit. your right about the compression being 120psi minimum. the throttle does not have to be open will get the same results when the carb slides are closed its still going to make compression 👌
My 03 Yamaha viper was running ok until I went out one to start it up which it did for a few s then it bogged and quit letting out a huge back fire, now it won’t start at all,I can still pull it over but no response,I changed out the plugs and still nothing. I guess it’s the carburetors but not sure
Was it hot then cold during the last few days where you live ? Could be your gas froze ! Try a Deicer and poor it in your gas tank ! Wait around 10 minutes and try to start your sled... If it starts, blip the throttle a bout 30 times ! Then change both spark plugs !
Follow these guide lines... If you in't got no click to the electric starter, your fuse might be burnt ! If I am not mistaken it's in the wire harness under the hood.
@@doobyboy21 thanks, i found the blown fuse, but the starter motor was toast, replaced it and it keeps blowing the fuse so for now I'll just pull start it. Turns out it had a blown piston, I bought a used cyl and piston, it gets 120 psi now, I ended up pulling the engine out and replacing the crank seals, they were damaged, thats probably why the piston and cyl were burned up. Rebuilt both carbs, installed filters on both carb feed lines. Have yet to test run it, I've been fighting with it for a full year.😄 i'm located in northern Maine, we have lots of sled trails all around where my house is.

@@doobyboy21 I finally drove it last week, turns out the ignition switch was shorted out and broke inside, also installed new primer pump, voltage rectifier, new rear light, drive belt, rebuilt both carbs, rebuilt engine with new crank seals and gaskets, piston rings, it was endless. Installed a new battery and starter motor, it fires right up , 120 psi.
Salut j’ai le même skidoo même année j’ai changer les plug fait cliner les carburateur et les pipe de plug... le skidoo start bien et idle vrm bien il declutch a 3500 rpm mais il est très vache jusqu’à 5000 rpm as tu déjà eux le même genre de problem avec ta gt98 merci de me réponde je suis acour de solution
As tu essayer de nettoyer tes bottes de bougies ? Tu les enleve de sur les fils tu spray du contact cleaner et tu claen ca apres avec un cute tip... essaye ca voir ou change carrément tes bottes pour la paix desprit. Souvent quand c'est les botte de bougies d'origine ca devien noir la dans et le contact a bas regime quand tu donne du gaz et tres vache et quand le courant vien fort et constant la oupps ca decolle, Ou ta strap de clutch qui et fini et trop etiré et elle descend trp dans pouli secondaire

Changé les 2 pistons passé les pierres dans les cylindre pour leur donner des rayures... Mis des bougies au Iridium NGK ! Best fucking bougie ever ! Changer les bottes de bougies et chopé les fils c 2 bouts ! Nettoyer les rave valve avec du break cleaner, Mis juste de l'huile synthétique Sinto Performa, mis des spring neufe dans mes 2 clutch et mis une strap neuve et ajusté ca comme faut ! Gaz ordinaire l'huile sinto a deja 130 d'octane dedan , chenille neuve Camso Ripsaw 2... ajusté ensuite la chain case... J'ai nettoyer et ***changé*** tous les jets des carburateurs... La mon homme j'étais en business ! Voila ma liste pour faire rouler un sled ca coche !
No no seafoam is not a fuel stabilizer its a fuel conditioner that you put in your tank to help clean the fuel system then you ride it. Because if you let seafom sit for a long period of time it becomes Corrosive and will completely ruin your whole fuel system
Okay...part two. Battery is charged...change the spark plugs filled it with new gas and still won’t catch so I’m back to see what else before I have to call a guy...bleh..I’m not giving up just yet!

Did you try holding the gas at full throttle and starting her up ?

I have an e380 doo, new to me today,
engine will not crank but I have 12v at starter, does not click, no lights etc.

My sled isn't getting any gas what could be the problem?
clogged jet in your carbs more than likely ! Open them up and clean the jets !
@@doobyboy21 I got my sled carbs cleaned before I reinstalled, I put a bit of gas in the spark plug hole and it fired up but died right after
@@adamskead8859 carb issue ! Are your float bowls filling up ? Pinched gas line ? Usually is an easy fix !

Those are not fuel mixture screws. You should watch some youtube videos of some people who know what they are doing, then maybe post your own videos.
