      Notice that the salad spinner in this video is not the most expensive salad spinner available. I appreciate that SpainonaFork Albert is observant to show things to us that are affordable. I agree, a salad spinner is one of the best pieces of kitchen equipment. Get one.

    My wife makes a similar dish but instead of the white cabbage she adds finely sliced apples. Really good.

    I just love the amount of garlic you use and just chopped roughly not minced. Cabbage is the most underrated vegetable but I love it. Thank you for another great dish. 👍❤

      Cook cabbage with lamb, garlic, and spices, cover with water and cover in low heat once it boils!!! Very important...for like 5 hrs or so till cabbages soften and is soooo delicious!! add some beef stock if ypy want for the broth!!

    Made this cabbage dish last night and it was very, very tasty. I added some red pepper flakes for a little heat but other than that, I followed the recipe exactly. I think the next time (which may be tonight,}I'll add a little wine to braise the cabbage a little because I found the end result to be a little chewy.

    Simple recipe yet so good. 👏👏Vegetables are good for you especially cabbage. Raw or cooked. This is lovely…Served with plain rice, rice noodles or roast potatoes for a full vegan course. Roast chicken, roast pork or beef for those who eat meat (hopefully ethically farmed). In my view too strong for fish or perhaps mackerel or smoked mackerel or grilled sardines. Anyone hungry? 😁

      @@theresalee9392 Buy some whole sardines and have the fishmonger gut them for you. Toss them in a bit of whatever for a marinade, then grill them. Delicious.

    If I may give a tip, I like to add Sweet Smoked Spanish Paprika near the end, it gives it a nice kick. And an extra splash of vineagar after it is plated :)

    A garlic press from the utensil section at a supermarket will be a beloved addition to your kitchen. You don’t have to peel garlic. You drop it in the press and it squeezes out tiny pieces of garlic and leaves the husk in the press.

      Well, yes, but you have to buy a VERY good one -- if the grater-end of the press isn't sharp enough, you end up wasting much too much garlic. I've had several garlic presses, but I never liked any of them. Much prefer a small, sharp knife.

    A very easy and effective "salad spinner" is to put the food on a towel, pull up edges to make a bundle, put that towel into an old pillow case, tie a cord to it and then spin the thing like a cowboy spins a lariat. It works really well and is free, just make sure to do it outside or in a large open space where you will not knock anything over by accident. If you expect a lot of moisture to come out of the food, use multiple towels.
    My grandma taught me that long before they invented salad spinners.

    I make something similar to this all the time. I find it very helpful to give the cabbage a bit of a massage by squeezing it in my hands for a few minutes. It makes it more tender

    I’ve been preparing red cabbage (lombarda in Spanish) for some time now, but I’ve never got it to be crunchy and bright colored like yours. I see you added the garlic at the end and didn’t cover the pan while cooking. I'll have to try this one.

    I LOVED the patatas bravas and the bean soup, but altho' I followed the recipe to the letter and squeezed and squeezed - no water came out of my sliced and salted cabbage leaves ! . Any suggestions?

    My aunt cooked what she called Spanish steak. I can,t find any recipe like it. Flank steak was marinated with vinegar and onions.Tomato sauce and green peppers were used. Can you help me out?
