- The one and only Misha Mansoor sits down to walk you through the Haunted Shores song 'Nocturnal Hours'. He talks you through what GGD kits he used, why he chose what he did, and does an overview of the mix!
If you want any of the GGD products shown in this video, head over to www.getgooddrums.com !
These types of videos are absolutely invaluable and the reason why GGD is loved by so many
Hi Guys my name is Keyan Houshmand and I write really bad riffs
@@wesleygeofferson5171 no need to be a douche
Definitely caught the Opeth nod when I first heard it; nice to hear it's intentional. Glad another Shores album has been released....in fact I think I'll listen to that during the next coupla jobs.
That Katatonia beat you're talking about is when they play 6/8 with the hihat/ride and snare, but the kick does dotted 8th notes which becomes 4/4. Such a great signature groove!
Wild to think that there are recordings out there without real drummers... and it's got a lot to do with you pioneering the technology and technique. Even wilder, you share your processes with us for free. Thanks Misha!
I dont know about you guys but I'm actually way more interested in the mixing side of things than the arrangement stuff, I wish Misha had done the entire mixing overview and not just a fast version, but still a great video!
I get the feeling he feels like he’s repeating himself a lot. But I’d also love another mixing extravaganza video for sure, even if some of the information is covered elsewhere. A mixing master class similar to the ultimate drum programming guide would be sick!
its crazy how important snare drum processing is in a mix like this. huge difference
Remember when first listened to the Haunted Shores I thought "this drummer is my favorite drummer in the world" and than checked out his name on the internet 😓🤣
Another story:
I was telling my friend about Haunted Shores and said "they've realized only 1 album some years ago and they're not active right now"
than opened spotify to show it to him and saw that they had released new album 2 hours ago 🤣
drummer of Haunted Shores?? yes , is him misha manshoor
This mix is incredible! More of that pls :)
So amazing Misha, learnt soo much from this
Sooo good!!! Deff one of my top albums of the year! Love opeth also one of the best bands ever!
I love Opeth
Misha, I figured you’d master your own stuff. Who did you send it to?
I could be wrong, but I'd guess that it's Ermin (Systematic Productions), considering he mastered Misha's solo album too
@@MaestroKatProductions ah didn’t know that. Thanks!
Ermin Hamidovic also mastered P3 and P4, pretty sure he did this one
Such a good song
Waited so long for this.Baie Dankie!!!Thanks Misha
Love these videos, love this album! Also, any update on the Vinyl situation??
fucking love this album!!!
It would be incredible if you would share the multitracks of this song or even sell them as a producer pack.
We do. store.3dotrecordings.com/products/void-full-album-stem-download
@@MishaMansoor I had bought these stems. Are they completely raw or they are mixed but not mastered (looking at signal levels)? I also had PIII and PIV stems. PIII are much louder than Void and Hail Stan stems so I concluded that they are already isolated but with mastering. Am I wrong?
@@marcinpolczyk I have bought them and they are mixed but unmastered, I'd swear
To anyone who bought Haunted Shores VOID FULL ALBUM STEM DOWNLOAD - are guitars DI in that stem pack and midi are drums? Or just seperated instruments in audio format?
The latter, it's 5-8 (depending on the song) .wav files of each track (guitar, bass, drums, synth, etc).
EDIT: SORRY, I misread. I bought the producer pack, not the full album stems. Ignore me!
I found out there was a new haunted shores album through this vid!
hell yes!
Hey, Misha. What are you using for bass? Still Djinbass, or have you switched to one of the newer ones?
If you're asking because you're thinking about them, that new Umansky Bass from SubMission is fantastic. I couldn't say enough good things about it. I used Loki Bass before and Umansky blows it out of the water. I've never used DjinnBass, but it's also from SubMission so I feel both are good. I'd say get the newer one though because it has so many great features for modern metal. I know you asked Misha, but I figured I'd throw in my two cents just in case you get nothing.
@@xrainymondayx I've actually been looking into GroveBass.
The rest of the album has Djinnbass, but this song has real bass!
Can we get the multitracks?
29:14 it reminds me the way i like to cook.
Wooooooow
Nice Misha, Drums were my first instrument as well, so I get a kick out of watching your videos bro. Sounds great btw!
