Yaooooo!! Glad the slam fiddlin’ made it into the bunch! 😈🎻 It’s an honor to be included in a league of musical Samurai and gnarly riffers. Congrats to the winners! Thank you, Misha and everyone at Horizon Devices for the opportunity 🤘🏾
Your such a badass cousin ❤️🔥🤘🏽
you sir are a sorcerer
That was sick dude
Super Cool
great dude!!
Wow I’m blown away! I knew the baby would pull Misha’s heart strings, I should pay the baby a commission.
This is fuckin huge bro congrats 🥳
Congratulations Alex 😍🖤
Congrats! Well deserved ❤
what kind of pick is that?
Man, i feel grateful to be able to make it all the way through here and it feels surreal being part of this, i appreciate the words, definitely motivates me to keep doing my best. Thank you ❤.
Blown away by all the contesters, mad respect. Well deserve 🔥
Bro I loved hearing your bit !!!
Where can I find this song?! Absolutely fantastic!
Wow!! I’m beyond happy I made it into this video! And yes, I did actually make those riffs specifically for the contest, glad you noticed. 😁 Congrats to the winners too! 🥳
lekker mattis :D
Gefeliciteerd kerel!! 🔥
@@The_Ramonster Thanks man 😁
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Your riff was the best imo, it was the only one that I wanted to hear a whole song of and wanted to learn the riffs.
Great job man!
Ruslan Aleskerov everything is correct 😊 Thanks Misha, it was very interesting. I was very happy to take part in this.
А у него что, русская жена?)

Yours was my favorite!
When is D2 released? I'd love to hear more of this.
Wow!!! I'm so happy to have been noticed by Misha and make it to the finals! Big congrats to the winners! 😁🤟
Dude. Those were some seriously tasty riffs. "All the technique" nailed your video. Good job programming your drums too man. New sub!
@@veenoir1991 Thank you so much!!! 🙏
bro that was actually so good... im jealous now i wish i had a riff like that for my own song :D pure fire bro keep it up
@@viraajgupta6047 Thank you so much! 🙏
Nasty
GEEZES...ALL of these artists are DAMN phenomenal...This contest has become a prestigious showcase to me in which you've already won just by having a dope submission selected and showcased with Misha's reactions and commentary.
I’m glad I could bring you some nostalgia! (This is Morgan btw)
Congrats to all the other finalists as well!
that was really really awesome, man
@@johannesberger8641 thanks!
This is my favorite Periphery album thus far
It’s clever how Misha named the songs after people, and Misha on the Mic 🎤 Wow 🤩
14:46
You heard it here folks.
Periphery V: All the Gain
Glad I got to participate, everybody heckin' killed it on this one!
I'm glad Morgan Wick was featured, he is awesome and has a great channel. This really puts his skills on display.
Thanks so much! This was a blast to be a part of!
Congrats to everyone! Well deserved! 😁 It was fun to participate! 😊
Hoped to see your submission in this, such a sick track!
@@geordihills thank you so much Geordie! Hopefully next time! 😁
Congrats Lorenzo and Alex ma bois and to everyone
3rd one by far is the most musical and well arranged
fo sho
Seems like they were all just trying to shred rather than make a musical piece that other instruments and vocals can build around and work off of. When I make riffs I generally try to plan ahead for someone to put vocals over it. Much more musical and not so erratic
Am I the only one who thinks ALL of them should win? Seriously, all of these guys are incredible!
if all these riffs had projects/music i could listen to i'd listen to all of them. Absolutely amazing
Haven't even seen the vid yet but I know I'm not up there
Edit : I knew it... Congrats to all of the winners!! They were all flawless and perfect!!
Russlan's entry was so groovy
congrtaz buddies
My favorite riff was (sorry of I spelt this wrong "Majtis vanderholkin"
I loved that.
The Heritage breakdown with the sexy cords was amazing
I know he said Devin Townsend vibes. I thought you had Mark Halcomb vibes lol
5:13, those are some sick riffs. I was really digging the arrangement, the percussive style, and the precision 🤘😎🤘.
Misha! Please do more of these! I love your commentary.
Can we get a Saturday with Misha so it doesn't conflict with my Sunday with Ola??
Appreciate you Misha . Really appreciate your vibe , attitude , energy and music.
The super floppy strings is actually caused by rolling shutter and low shutterspeed. Also lower framerates makes the effect more intense
That fourth one one the break down got me. Different bass pattern. Dope!
Matthijs!!! That was so damn good. Literally a haunted shores song 🎵 😩 , I love how misha couldn't say it sounded like him and mark (being humble), but it was an insane riff.
*******PERSONALLY LEANING TOWARD BOTH THE NEO-CLASSICAL DJENT MOD VID AND THE MONO-TONED 7 STRING VIOLINIST!!!*******
Wow, this has been very inspiring and oh so humbling as a guitarist. they were all so amazing but if I had to pick a favorite Morgan's was the most "metal" and that violin by Sage gets tops in the "being different category. was that a piezoelectric? I didn't see a regular inductor-type pickup. or does that exist? maybe horizon devices can develop electric violin strings for a regular inductor-type pick-up? anyways thanks so much, this was awesome!!
Congratulations to the winners 👊🏻🥃
Sage cornelius looks like the dude that played with Shawn James in his live sessions...
Ruslan has some Nuno vibes going on 💯🔥
There all winners 🏆 very talented guys.
17:30 Alex's submission took me back to Pantera's - 5 Minutes Alone music video with all the visible string vibrations
5:12 I just love everything about this submission!
I just want to say, the guy in the clip at 14:50, everytime the camera shifted from close-in to zoom-out, he shifts from guitar to bass exclusively for those different shots, and it took me 30 seconds of staring to realize that he was playing both instruments.
I specifically used different shots for bass and guitar. Hopefully it wasn’t too confusing haha
Love all the material but I melt when I can see the sound wave on the strings it happens all the time but when you play in the right lighting you can see that in real time i was stund when my own guitar did that.
Well damn. Absolutely blown away by every one of those submissions. I'd hate to have to pick lol
The first instrument is a Djentolin
Amazing submissions!
********DIGGING THE 7 STRING VIOLIN!!!!!******** LOVE HOW HE ATTACKS IT!! IN THE 90'S THERE WERE OTHER "METAL" VIOLINISTS BUT THIS ONE IS DJENT/DUBSTEP METAL BASHING MAD BOMB!!********
Killed it Morgan
Thank you sir!
Misha the Technical term is Chkchkchk (Manuel Gardner Fernandes). 😂😂😂😂 I’m not even kidding. That’s how refer to it.
11:16 could be easily translated to a dolid jazz bass rhythm, very sharp and funky, dig it ...
LOVE these videos, Misha! Keep em comin!
This is not generally my style of music, but the video seemed interesting. I really, really liked that one started after 11minutes. Really solid sound. I would listen to that for a while. really well done, and to the rest as well. good video
Congrats y'all!
First time I actually appreciate violin
These aren't riffs. They're like 4 riffs. This should be called an "ideas for songs" contest.
These guys are some serius threat, NGL. So creative!
Morgan wick's submission reminded me of scar symmetry holographic universe era.
Ruslan got that groove
Was hoping to hear some heavy metal Paganini from Sage!!
All the entries were killer.awesome songwriting, production and guitar playing but,at the same time this contest is making me realise that non of the riffs/styles are unfamiliar.all of them playing similar type riffs with different gain playing super tight but no riffs remains unheard at this point.seems like all metal riffs has been saturated to the fullest.really looking forward to hear what new sound will be in couple of years.
The hair looks incredible. I can't deal.
…. Crap. This was nuts.
Always SO many good players!
Ahhhh guitar centric music... IS HERE TO STAY!! YEW!!
Sage Cornelius can be heard playing along a Gentleman by the name of Shawn James, go check them out because they're a DEADLY combo musically. It won't be what you think after this video either. 🤘
The lighting on Russan is great.
Bangin' vid! - brought on some stank-face for sure!
9:14 sounds amazing with that hybrid picking
@@ethereal2706 yeah me too. It has me stumped.
Misha "is that the thing now using no gain?"
Literally the next song huge great sounding gain 🤣
You should do a picture in picture thing while you're watching each vid so we can see your initial reaction to the submissions.
"our first landscape video" 🤣🤣
Let's gooo Lorenzo 🙌🏻
Morgan wick won this for me personally...but yeah great submissions
All of these are awesome !
10:37 🤣 Misha, your Russian pronunciation is gorgeous
That 4th dude... With the black and yellow check shirt.... Fk me!
I'm pretty sure that Unprocessed galloping technique you were talking about is just referred to as "chkchkchk." That's not a joke, I see it written as that everywhere it's talked about
11:15 I never knew Daniel Day Lewis could shred like that
UHH... WAS ALSO DIGGING THE LESSER OVERDRIVEN RIFFSTER TOO!!
🎻🤯
Fantastic submissions!!!!
this is dope bro do more \m/
11:16 Ridiculous Grove and feel amongst a sea of Mastubatory typewriter guitarists.
Hell yeah, "djent is not a genre" shirt for the win 🤣 👊 ✊️
Dude at 8:25 rakes ,,,, he gets my vote !
The dude with the white strat against the black background has a VERY interesting sound going on....
Paul Masvidal forever with this prog stuff. Style over twiddling. But, what's the 'riff' criteria here? For mine the best riffs are going to be pure. Entirely subjective, of course, but technicality does not the mighty riff make... My opinion only. Simplicity can be the key. Memorable riffs are the ones you'll hum in your head on an oily rag of nostalgia forever and a day. I challenge anyone to remember the (brilliant) noodling let alone succumb to echolalia with the riffing here. Music for musos only...
same. most of these people need to use less notes and make it actually memorable
5:48 ... it was at this moment that I completely lost my shit. holy god im done lol, im done. everything about that submission was just perfect and enchanting
For real that part was so sick
That's a djentolin.
Omg, ill buy that Schecter @ 5:10
that 3rd track sounded like happy CC
F1 reference! Ovechkin. timing is tight and concept was cool. Tempo is standard.Winner IMO
I heard a lot of jamming, but didn't hear single riff.
Misha, the living legend ✌️
2:46
I know that place! That's Jose Macario's studio!!
I love how awesome sh!ts getting in metal \m/
Very cool everyone
Damn, Sage is the dude who does violin for Shawn James
Don't worry Misha I have Hella fucking gain! That's why orange amps rule
That first one is badass.
That violin
This is Misha from Periphery, not “Misha from Horizon Devices.” The world is ending soon in miserraaayyyyy
@14:51 This dude did not fuck around... jesus christ!
this is totally fun
THAT LAST RIFF WAS NASTY
The 4th contestant gave me AAL vibes. That first guy was great jamming but compared to guitars falls short. I would have loved to hear some parts that were clean mixed in.
definitely high shutter speed on the one camera. also why it almost looks sped up
