No generator would be better but have an other alternator to charge the batteries. If having a slightly smaller length for stealth and in city parking. But I really love the open lightness of the Wonder. I like having no slides. Volta is supposed to be a good lithium power system.
@@Pagosa My issue is the noisy generator which prevents heating or cooling when you'd need it. The Travato kl and gl models seem to be more efficient for winter or summer camping. They have to tap either the propane or the vehicle's fuel. They use the Volta power system that seems pretty good. I really love the LTV interiors. They're so pretty. They're just elegant. They just look comfy and homey. There's a warmth to the color scheme.
@@dakotalisa3893 @PagosaAdventures. Winnebago uses their Pure3 Volta System. @@Pagosa Don’t get me wrong the Benz is the nicest for sure of all, just wish they would step up with their engine, the Ford ecoboost is light years ahead of that expensive Benz engine, and also the ecoboost produces way way more power and parts to fix it are way cheaper.
Go full electric. That means increase Lithium battery capacity to at least 800ah, add 2nd alternator, install diesel powered hot water and heating systems. Then compressor fridge, induction cooktop, and all season LTV will come naturally, with increased holding tanks capacity and a little more external storage space. My last 25' 6" RV had a 15000BTU A/C unit. Could not lower the temperature below 88F after 3PM at Big Bend National Park mid May.
Lithium batteries do not make energy, they only store it, so increasing the size of the house bank will not allow you to have more power than what you are producing with solar panels. Your energy will be limited by the size of the solar array.
4x4 or all wheel drive on gas chassis, large lithium battery package with large inverter and eliminate propane, ducted air conditioning on the gas chassis, no extra seat belts or sleeping area, protected storage for e-bikes, larger holding tanks, 4 season capable.
I agree with you 100% about the options. I upgraded my UCB with over than 50 . Lithium, isolation, suspension, radio, bathroom, windows, storage , and I find solutions to upgrade freshwater tank with collapsible bag and I refilled it from fresh water
Diesel heat and water heater. 50 gallon diesel tank. Ditch the propane. Volta System with induction cooktop and compressor fridge. 50 gallon water tank with a 50 gallon black/gray tanks that can be combined....so 25/25 or 20/30 split. I don't think I would need those tanks to be separate since I always dump in the sewer anyway. But just in case put in a valve to separate. Not sure this is all possible on a little rig, but I can dream can't I. The ridged solar panels may put a lot of weight up high where you don't want it. Plus you may be close to gross weight anyway. Something to be mindful of.
Four season option, would be a reason for me to buy this RV. I have been looking for awhile, just can’t find the RV that has what I am looking for, considering the substantial investment.
Great presentation and it is obvious by your viewer comments. 4-season package is a must to us in Canada. 4-wheel drive too if the winter becomes an option.
Additional seatbelts ABSOLUTELY. Particularly the Wonder limited to two where the identical floorplan on the Unity has 4. This is really short term "Daytrips" no camping intending...carry more people and have personal restroom. Friends or grandkids, lets go to the beach 60 miles away...cram into the Mini and will leave the LTV at home because it lacks seatbelts.
@@Pagosa if you haven’t checked out Advanced RV’s B-box you need to check it out. No solar, huge lithium and inverter, recycled water, heated floors and tanks to make it full 4 season...and its price reflects it.
4 season capability lacking is the reason we couldn’t get an LTV 😥 went with Ekko instead due to it having amazing boondocking and 4 season capabilities. Excited that these options are coming to LTVs too!
4X4 would be ultimate along with the winter package on a MB 4500 chassis(gives you about 1500 more Lbs capacity) with a winter package, better solar panel system with larger lithium, more space not necessary on the TB model but bigger tanks are always a good option another reason for the MB4500, a compressor fridge and thats about it as it pobably adds another 10 g to the price its such a good unit and when I heard 4x4 mentioned I would wait anothe 6 months if it was a reality The two best add ons that we put on where the sumo overrides and the Helliwig sway bar which made a day and night difference in the way the unit handled, it would be nice if it came that way but Mercedes are very fussy about who does what to thier units
Also on our 2008 Commander we have a 4 door Dometic 2 way fridge (it is actually 3 way now as it can be run on our Magnum inverter off the 12 volts battery). When that puppy goes we will be looking at going to a high efficiency DC compressor (again variable speed for the most efficient), I notice more and more RV mgf's are going this route as it makes sense, no ammonia (much safer), no worry about levelling and they cool much more efficiently when it is hot out, Absorption units loses their cooling efficiency very fast at higher outdoor temps.
Had you ever considered upgrading to a dc compressor driven refrigerator? What amp rating and inverter and wiring size would you need to do this? How is you refrigerator at keeping things frozen in all modes of operation? I have read complaints that your current type of refrigerator does not get temperatures low enough to freeze foods. In addition, some of the RV fires have been caused by the propane refrigerators. Any information on that?
A compresser fridge will most certainly get colder and fast I believe, but we've had good luck with ours. In the summer, you need a full day to get it to temp, but once there, it handles it. I'm not sure about electric draws on the fridge, but I'm sure there is plenty of info on it.
My ideal built would have been: 4 season package on Unity w/ 4x4 Twin beds (storage for bikes and snowboards) Boondocking option: 630+ Amps of lithium; 3000W inverter; 400+ W of solar. No propane or generator. Would love to have great Under the hood alternator just in case.
I have a self built 4x4 sprinter shirt wheel base. Doing lots of boondocking and off grid camping. Would love to move up to a 4x4 unity. We love our sprinter, It’s a natural progression. The 4x4 is pretty Stough.
That’s a NO! on the Ram chassis. I just sold my 2019 Travato 59kl. As fun as it was, the transmission was nothing but trouble. Cheap is a word that comes to mind.
YES, Upgrades to All Season, 3000 Inverter, Upgrade Solar Package Boondock Package, Induction Stove, Larger Water Tank, 4×4 option great for Doondocking, These upgrades should be factory installed
I agree with a number of comments about having the MB4500 chassis as an option as that would allow for larger holding tanks. I am not sure why more of the ‘B+’ manufacturers don’t offer that as an option seeing as a common theme with these RVs seem to be low cargo carrying capacity. I did reach out to Dynamax and ask (I was looking at the Isata 3 as interior height is 6’8”) and they advised that towing capacity is more important to their clients that cargo carrying capacity (if you go with the 4500 chassis, you get 1,100 lbs more CCC and 1,100 lbs less towing capacity). The reason I would purchase an Isata 3 or an LTV would be because I don’t want to have a tow vehicle behind me! The other thing I would LOVE is if LTV Unity would increase their interior height by 2”. I am 6’6” tall so the interior height of 6’5” means walking around stooped over. I LOVE all the different floor plans that the Unity is offered in and all the unique features and storage options they build into their units. No other manufacturer is as creative in use of space as LTV is. Final wish is for a full size (60”x80”) queen bed as an option in the MB or FX models.
I have a Wonder RTB on order. One of the changes I would like to see is a bigger gas tank. Winnebago has a 31 gallon tank in their new EKKO, so Ford can provide a bigger tank with the Transit chassis. 25 gallons with an RV that gets 12 MPG is just too small!
Definitely a downside to a small motor home. Our Unity gets 17mpg, so it's noticeable that we could go much longer than the Transit if it does end up being 12mpg
Thanks! LTV put the link on their social media channels. You can see them here: portal.productboard.com/tripleerv/1-leisure-travel-vans-customer-ideas/tabs/5-ideas-in-consideration
I think the number of floorplans is fine. I personally like the twin bed, but I do like the space provided by the slide on the MB model. I’d like the option to add a slide to the TB, simply for a bit of space. Also, love the induction cooktop idea.
I don't think they would. The Ford chassis, while better this year, is still smaller and I think the Unity will always be on the larger platform. I do believe with the extra weight the ford can carry now, that a Wonder Plus could be a thing with extra amenities.
If Leisure Travel comes up with a 4x4, I will definitely order one. I use my rv almost all year round so to be safer in the snow is a high concern for me. Also 4 seat belts for occasional use is a must.
There are smoke detectors in the coach, which would alert you, but not in the actual battery bay. There is no room for it. I'm sure with a larger coach, you could figure that out, but the LTV is too small for either of those options.
I was surprised by the valve stems on the inner dually...i replaced the outer with Borg but then discovered a leak in the factory installed extenders on the inners...just ordered Borgs for the inner wheels as well...seems like a factory oversight??

@@Pagosa it’s not that I can’t carry a storage egg or box on the hitch if I chose a RL, but I just feel like RV companies in general these days should measure a standard golf bag and maybe Weber Q and figure out a place.
I am “in the queue” for a 2023 U24MB. Projected delivery 8/22. I am hoping that some of these potential changes actually happen between now and then. My unit is ordered with heated tanks, and I have had conversation with LTV about what would be involved for a more effective cold weather setup. I would LOVE to see a full-on zero degree package, as we really want to use our Unity for ski outings. Bigger fresh water tank would be a huge plus. Gray and black are already decent sized for us. I ordered no lithium because currently I intend to upgrade to 315AH Lithionics same as you did. If the options get better I may change my mind and go with factory. I have wondered for a while why upfitters do not use the MB4500 chassis. There must be something about it that does not work. Would love to hear more on that one. Bigger inverter would be nice, but I’m not sure what you gain from that unless you go WAY bigger on lithium. Currently cooling=generator and it would take a lot to change that. Solar not sure. There are definitely advantages to the flex panels-biggest being weight savings. I could be wrong here, but I think the Renology flex panels have a 25yr warranty. Maybe LTV is just using the wrong ones? I agree probably not really room for much more that 400w on roof. I like the idea of an induction cooktop, but others (such as Advanced) just use a stowable unit anyway. I like the option of a compressor fridge with more lithium, but i have also been told the new Dometic refrigerator works pretty good, so I don’t know on that one. I personally don’t see a need for 4 wheel drive on a rig like this. I would like all wheel drive for stability on slick surfaces (like the Ford) but can’t imagine this would happen.
MORE OFFICE MODELS! for us artists who want to live full time and need the studio space.. i love the FX... i just want to rip out the back area and put my art studio right there... and since i live in the midwest...ill NEED it to be able to handle crazy winters and hot summers.
They should propose a volta integration system. I heard someone was able to install it in the united states. The company has done a custom installation and it was difficult as they needed to do some modification inside the trailer. But they have done it. Allowing 13000 kwh battery and charge via a new alternator. The system allow using the ac for the entire night, in addition of all the electronic equipment simultaneously. The battery was installed at the place of the actual generator which is crap. If i budget for an LTV unity, i would make install a volta system 48V battery for 100% energy. Also you can install a cinderella toilet incinerator to remove the usage of the black tank completely.
How about a larger (more carrying capacity chassis - 3000 lbs.) so it can be winterized, extra seatbelts, more water) I like my Wonder RTB. I like propane and the furnace and stove setup - easy to maintain. It would be nice to have a quieter air-conditioner but it would require more vertical height (nice to have ducted). Optional mattresses -re hardness. Almost every user comments on adding a foamy to soften up the mattresses a little. Otherwise I think the Wonder is the best small motorhome out there. It is also my 4th Triple e due to their good service and quality of construction. It doesn't have the room of my 40 footer DP but this is what we wanted this time. Keep up the good work.
I would love to see the outside of the dining chairs of the Corner Bed model add on a vinyl/leather panel with hinges that can lift up so that we can prop up our feet and lounge. The Winnebago View has that feature. We were struggling between the Wonder/Unity Rear Lounge and the Corner Bed because of the lounging chairs. The Corner Bed has such a wide body even when the slide is in, so adding a simple flip-up panel to the outside of the dining chairs would be the perfect solution for us.
Solar panels. I bought 2 100watt flex panels, not very efficient and they transfer the heat to the roof (they are bonded right to the roof), so they are getting turfed and replaced by a couple of 190watt rigid panels. The rigid glass panels perform a lot better than the flex panels and are not as prone to scratch and overheating as the flex panels. I noticed that this year it Leisure is doing the same, going way form the flex panels.
I seem to be hooked on these Unity RV's. Could you please do a video based on the Leisure Travel website in which you would either recommend or tell your audience which extra options you feel are must have and which you can either do without or might purchase 3rd party instead. Thanks in advance
Hey Barry, I did a video about that, and here it is: ua-cam.com/video/z6kKHTYhSkI/v-deo.html The only option I say to go 3rd party is lithium batteries. You can check out my lithium setup here: pagosasupply.co/lithium
4X4 vs all wheel drive I have driven with both and in rough weather conditions these can make a difference versus standard rear wheel or even front wheel drive. I would live to see LTV use the Freightliner M2 chassis! Not that I can afford it either way right now, but I am dreaming of tomorrow. Edit: When you talked about more outside storage and tank capacity. Other than weight you also have size considerations with the Ford/Sprinter chassis. You may have to use a larger chassis, like the small Freightliner, to accommodate everything. And YES to 4 seasons. Even in the south there are a few days/weeks of freezing temps.
on the air conditioner / heat pump, yes hope they upgrade to a Inverter style variable speed compressor, I converted all our house heating to Fujitsu Heat Pumps, and wow, I can cool the house with 800watts!!! I can heat the house in 30Deg.F weather with 900watts, so much more efficient. I save a ton of money on our power bill, imagine if you had that on your RV your airconditioner could last twice as long!!!
I think they will see the light and make the rigs a more efficient and self contained in the future. More people don't want to be handcuffed to a power pole.
Definitely a larger lithium setup is the way the industry is headed. More lithium, larger inverter, second alternator for complete boon docking package. I’d rather keep the propane cooktop and carry a portable induction for options. Neutral on 4 season capable. I’m not much for winter camping but if it could extend the season in spring and fall maybe. Bigger tanks no brainer always. I understand compressor refrigerator is more efficient so yes.
I finally understood today what "winterizing" the RV means, and I'm assuming there's no way to heat the tanks/lines in a Unity?? That's a huge bummer, as I'm researching a way to visit friends and family year round WITH my 3 little Dachshund girls, taking it from Central Texas to Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, Arizona, and Florida, so I may be stopped in my tracks here. I'm looking for a traveling pet friendly hotel suite for me and my fur babies. I thought the Unity was ticking off all the boxes until I heard (and understood!) that.
I've seen some people add tank heaters and such, but that's still a bit scary if you are in a super cold climate. The UA-cam channel RV lifestyle has an LTV and they winter camp all the time. They give great instructions on how they camp with the coach winterized. There's not really any RV that is completely winter proof, but many that are much better than the Leisure.
The chassis gets serviced at Grapevine Mercedes. Already had a sensor recall and was quick and easy. As for LTV warranty and recalls, Vogt RV in Ft. Worth is the dealer in Dallas area and does the work. I'm sure you could get your Mercedes work done in OKC, but the LTV work would prob be best at Vogt unless there is an LTV dealer in OKC
Apropos more storage - would adopting the MB4500 cab-chassis give the added weight capacity? ALSO, have you been given ANY insights into the current order-to-delivery times for LTV. Here in the Nearly North (of the 49th) dealer stock nationwide is virtually ZERO. AND we, as a nation, are still struggling mightily with supply chain issues.
I know supply chain from their third party vendors is causing much of the delays. I'll try and interview some of their people and they can keep us up to date on the situation.
Speaking of wt. capacity, since we have a 2022 on order now I can’t figure out how much actual CCC we will have. Will have the all lithium upgrade (rigid flex panels 400 solar, 2 dragonfly batteries) Alcoa rims, macerator …what’s a ball park amount of CCC does anyone know? Also, there isn’t a spare tire so do most of you LTV’ers add this on the rear or just have good roadside assist program?
I like the 4X4 with more clearance idea. For us, it's not about "going 4 wheelin in the back country" as much as it is, been there, done that...geez it would have been nice to have the 4X4 to kick in when necessary after a heavy storm left the area a mess. I prefer the induction option to propane, anyday! It's what we have always had in our house. While they now offer Lithium Batteries...I'd like to see other Lithium Battery Options as well, such as Battleborn or others. While they now offer a 2000W Inverter, the 3000 would be a nice option. Same thing with solar panels...the flex are fine, they have got better but I would still prefer a rigid option. One of the big things for us is weight...it's nice to think of one as a minimalist but the reality is most of us are not...souvenirs, gear and tanks' weight adds up real fast often leaving tow options to a dinghy at best (okay maybe a little more but not much!) As for more seatbelts/sleeping options etc...no interest at all from us. It is just the two of us riding into the sunset...or at least enjoying the rear lounge and looking out the windows at the rain! Great video!!!
Naw. Don’t like the 350/450. The one really good thing about the LTV is the size with the transit. If someone wants 350/450 with towing, you might as well get a truck and trailer.
I'm slightly confused by your alternator comment. Don't all RV house batteries charge when the engine is running? Motorhomes, towables, and truck campers? Is that second alternator merely the difference between a trickle charge vs a "super" charge? My working assumption has been that, after 8 to 10 hours of driving, an LTV would arrive at its campsite with a full charge. Am I mistaken?
No, you have to have either a second alternator or what I have is a Sterling 1230 Battery to Battery charger that is limited to 30amps of charging while driving as it shares the alternator with the chassis battery. Any Leisure Travel Van before 2020 models did not have this and could not charge while driving. Installing a battery to battery is pretty straight forward for those that don't have one, so it's an easy upgrade.
@@Pagosa I believe you are incorrect about the engine driven alternator powering the house batteries. I have a 2014 UIB and when the Isolator Solenoid failed, the house batteries tanked very quickly. We were running the frig on the battery at time. Talked to Willie and he said it was probably the solenoid. Removed the cover under the passengers seat and the solenoid showed signs of arcing. Replaced the solenoid with a Stancor D.C. Power Contactor - Type 586. Have not had any problems since. Might want to check with Willie to confirm.
Hate the EKKO just because of the bath and the cassette toilet. The EKKO bath is still basically a wet bath for the most part as you have to dry floor etc. We were thinking about buying the EKKO until we saw the bath and toilet. The LTV draw is the pure dry bath and love the macerator toilet.
I prefer 4x4 Ford chasis. Needs to have a reachable garage both sides, a bed set up not a pull bed, with shower and toilet separate. AC, Heater, two adult only, the rear lounge is my favorite.
More dealerships! I live in Mass and would have to go to Canada or Pennsylvania for a dealer! Also - bigger Murphy bed in rear lounge. Double bed size doesn’t cut it for two adults.
Keep in mind the Ford Transit can’t be repaired at all Ford dealerships as is the case for the MB. However, MB can be repaired at Frieghtliner locations.
An expensive but excellent way to increase water capacity would be to have a Cinderella toilet which would do away with a need for a black tank. You could boondock for much longer.
Get rid of propane - expand lithium battery capacity for all electric cooking, heat pump AC/heat, expanded solar, auto start diesel generator, and diesel hot water/heat. Compressor 12v/120v fridge. Add in a reserve diesel tank for house/emergency use using propane tank space. Just one easy thing to fill.
Larger inverter, house batteries Ok, lets go another step, I have a Triple-e 2008 Commander with FRED (front engine diesel), it originally came with a magnum 2000watt modified sine Inverter charger, so my first update was a Magnum MSH30012M Hybrid Pure sin inverter charger (3000watt), wow I can plug in to 15amp 115 volt and run I can run both my induction stove (we have one of those 1800watt portable stoves) and Convection microwave at the same time, the inverter supplements with additional current from the house batteries to make up the difference, (I replaced 2 D8 AGM batteries (each weigh in a 175LBS) to one Flypower 12Volt 320amp Lithium at 75lbs (about the same size as your Lithuims), wow save 275lbs in that switch out). We normally cook all electric anywhere we go. Must have choices!
My dream escape camper would be... 🙌 More window.. at least one layout with a *rear window option* as well, along with all the other windows and skylights, so we can see out all around. 😍 AWD. Bunk option with lookout window for my lil guy. Regular gas instead of diesel engine, and gas generator option, like the 2021 Wonders have.. But that's not a deal-breaker. 3000 pure sine inverter with idk, 600 solar + lithium battery option.. always need more power.😁 Sub zero/extreme heat shield insulation and water tank heater pads option, so I never have to lay awake having panic attacks with this increasingly crazy Texas weather, worrying that pipes will burst if we're stranded for a couple days in a freak storm 🥶.. Or worrying that everything will fry in there when it's 120 degrees F with 70% humidity.🥵 Perhaps there's like a double layer clear film to put on windows so can still have all the windows without losing insulation? I know - can't have it all - but since we're dreaming..😀
4x4 is perfect for beaches and BLM lands. A must have when there is no pavement. Many State and National Parks don't have paved roads in certain areas. The Florida Dept of Agriculture lands (free camping) is completely none paved. So that is a WIN for us...
I will not buy an LTV unless they make it on a 4x4 Sprinter option... Dry Camping is a big yes for us, and having the ability to use 4-wheel drive better suits what i need.
LTV needs to go all ELECTRIC, eliminate the LP tank and somehow make the holding/water tanks bigger with that space, AND if they would increase the batteries, you would be fine with solar, no generator and even more space/weight available for bigger holding/water tanks. Would be a total game changer for LTV!!!
Leisure TV has no choice left.... Winnebago Ekko will eat their market share with Four Seasons coach. It is going to be like Blackberry and iPhone saga...!! Though Leisure Travel Van's situation is not as bad, I am just saying for example.
Depends. Using the EKKO cassette toilet which can get pretty heavy and is unfun to clean is a no buy for us. That actually made the decision for not buying it. I think if EKKO moved away from cassette then yes they will eat the market. Not until then. We could “live” with the converting bath to shower, course you are stuck still drying lots of it similar to a wet bath.
i'm 5'1 and would never think of baking a hot casserole in that convection oven.Lifting a hot dish out of an oven over my head is insanity. An oven under the the counter would be the only useful solution for me.
That would be hard to do I think unless Sprinter up'd their gross weight. All of these B+'s are already near their max weight. If they did it, it would be a b not a b+ I bet.
A complete electric coach is not possible because there is not enough panel real estate. I will share a simple formula with you all - 25% of the total solar array in watts, will equal amp hours per day put into your house bank. Some days more and some days less but this will be close to what you will average. What would the total electrical draw of the coach be per day? To have a total electric coach you would need four times the average daily draw in amps, to equal the total watts needed for your solar array. So you will always need propane in this coach, given todays technology. Propane will be needed for heating (both water and space) and a gen set or shore power will be needed for air conditioning - there is no way around that. Yes maximum solar and lithium to run the cold food storage and all lights and electronic devices, and a much larger LP tank as well as much larger water tanks to achieve self reliance for the longest time possible. Hope this helps to understand the realities of these energy systems.
I want more seatbelts and awd or 4x4. Also lithium battery, and more solar, and larger or dual alternators for aud in charging. Also I want gas engines, American diesel engines don't work in Central or south America. Dual pane acrylic windows. More effecient AC like a 12 Volt model or a mini-split.
Alot of things on the wants list that everyone is posting takes the LTV up to a larger Class C. Bigger larger etc. The whole point of the LTV is the smaller size, etc. Easy to drive, etc. Leisure Travel VAN … VAN. Want bigger then go to companies that build larger Class C. All wheel drive, better insulation, lithium and solar standard is good. But bigger loses the whole point of the word VAN.
Great video man! Wait a few more years until you need to need pay repair bills for the POS Benz engine, than you would wish you don’t have one, body looks amazing but that engine sucks and stupid expensive on parts
Don’t get me wrong the Benz is the nicest for sure of all, just wish they would step up with their engine, the Ford ecoboost is light years ahead of that expensive Benz engine, and also the ecoboost produces way way more power and parts to fix it are way cheaper.
Electricity is most wasteful method you could possibly employ to create heat. If you plan to use HVAC, shower with hot water, or cook food, you'll need to make some trade-offs or add lots of weight to your rig in the form of a larger inverter, more batteries, more solar (or a genny with some type of fuel) I simply do not understand the anti-propane folks. They don't seem to get the basics of thermodynamics or electricity. You can run a refrigerator that would drain your batteries in mere days for MONTHS on a single tank of propane.
@@colormedubious4747 I think they would switch to a diesel hydronic type system like the Class A's use, but on a smaller scale. I'm a fan of losing propane, but using diesel for heat. Otherwise I have to carry both right now.
@@Pagosa Diesel heat makes more sense than electric heat, for sure. I'm currently looking for acreage out in the Hill Country, so there may well be an enormous 500 gallon propane tank in my future, lol.
4 season, extend size to 27 feet for more storage and bigger holding tanks. 3000 inverter with more rigid solar. Ducted air conditioning. Boon docker option definitely.
2 more proper (3 point) front facing seats (still convertible to loungers). Need a better front dual/double bed option - at least for children (grandchildren mostly) - the existing awkward air bed thing is a poor and very lopsided design. Other manufacturers do these well in this size - real functionality gaps IMO.
@@Pagosa I'm thinking only occasional trips with grandchildren - for that the van needs to be perfect for a couple and acceptable with the kids. To me these are the things where it just isn't acceptable today. The proper seating would also make it suitable for safe & comfortable day trips with 4 adults - which would also be nice.
Huge NO to the Ram Promaster. Cheap and has no safety features. Ford has much better technology by far. Still would get the rear lounge model. Quieter AC maybe ducted in the Wonder. Heck even some TTs have ducted now. Quiet generator for national parks. Still love the bike garage.
We need more 4 season options! People in Canada want this!
For sure!
On Unitys- all wheel drive, quieter generator, more lithium and larger inverter- also winter package

@@Pagosa My issue is the noisy generator which prevents heating or cooling when you'd need it. The Travato kl and gl models seem to be more efficient for winter or summer camping. They have to tap either the propane or the vehicle's fuel. They use the Volta power system that seems pretty good.

My last 25' 6" RV had a 15000BTU A/C unit. Could not lower the temperature below 88F after 3PM at Big Bend National Park mid May.
We've had great luck with this AC, I couldn't handle the summer if not.
@@Pagosa That RV was made by Thor...
Lithium batteries do not make energy, they only store it, so increasing the size of the house bank will not allow you to have more power than what you are producing with solar panels. Your energy will be limited by the size of the solar array.
would like to see a unit without any propane or generator. 2nd alternator, more solar and more lithium, along with diesel heater and hot water.
Agree!
Yep
That would be possible as long as you have no need for air conditioning.
My intention is to own Unity RL. dont want bed, and don't want extra seats but wash/dryer. Will be ordering 2023.
Might be a bit tough to put a washer / dryer in an LTV. Might want to look at a larger class C
4x4 or all wheel drive on gas chassis, large lithium battery package with large inverter and eliminate propane, ducted air conditioning on the gas chassis, no extra seat belts or sleeping area, protected storage for e-bikes, larger holding tanks, 4 season capable.
Storage for e bikes is definitely a good idea
I agree with you 100% about the options. I upgraded my UCB with over than 50 . Lithium, isolation, suspension, radio, bathroom, windows, storage , and I find solutions to upgrade freshwater tank with collapsible bag and I refilled it from fresh water
I've seen those bags. Seems like an easy solution
I would do anything for bigger tanks
Four season option, would be a reason for me to buy this RV. I have been looking for awhile, just can’t find the RV that has what I am looking for, considering the substantial investment.
Four seasons seems like a must in the future. Hopefully they will make that happen soon
For those who don't know (like me), what is a "four seasons option"?
@@mars7374 u wnt hve 2 wintrz d van
Great presentation and it is obvious by your viewer comments. 4-season package is a must to us in Canada. 4-wheel drive too if the winter becomes an option.
Yes, marketing at LTV said they watched and hopefully will make this a reality
Additional seatbelts ABSOLUTELY. Particularly the Wonder limited to two where the identical floorplan on the Unity has 4. This is really short term "Daytrips" no camping intending...carry more people and have personal restroom. Friends or grandkids, lets go to the beach 60 miles away...cram into the Mini and will leave the LTV at home because it lacks seatbelts.
Great idea
Dump propane, increase lithium and inverter capacity, 4x4 or all wheel drive, and a recycling shower to be able to be off the grid for a long time
Recycling shower, yes!
I think the Ekko is gonna cause all manufactures think on future capabilities. Congrats!
Need dual pane acrylic windows, compressor fridge and heated tanks along with more batteries!
Great idea!
4X4 would be ultimate along with the winter package on a MB 4500 chassis(gives you about 1500 more Lbs capacity) with a winter package, better solar panel system with larger lithium, more space not necessary on the TB model but bigger tanks are always a good option another reason for the MB4500, a compressor fridge and thats about it as it pobably adds another 10 g to the price its such a good unit and when I heard 4x4 mentioned I would wait anothe 6 months if it was a reality
The two best add ons that we put on where the sumo overrides and the Helliwig sway bar which made a day and night difference in the way the unit handled, it would be nice if it came that way but Mercedes are very fussy about who does what to thier units
👍
Awesome wish list. 👍
A 4wd option would be great especially from another dedicated maker of RV's.
would be nice
compressor fridge works at all angles and cools much quicker
Yes it does!
I do wish they would make the switch
My ideal built would have been:
4 season package on Unity w/ 4x4
Twin beds (storage for bikes and snowboards)
Boondocking option: 630+ Amps of lithium; 3000W inverter; 400+ W of solar.
No propane or generator. Would love to have great Under the hood alternator just in case.
I have 315ah of battery and would love to double that
I have a self built 4x4 sprinter shirt wheel base. Doing lots of boondocking and off grid camping. Would love to move up to a 4x4 unity. We love our sprinter, It’s a natural progression. The 4x4 is pretty Stough.
Very cool!
Yeah, I would love to get a 4x4 Unity on my 2023 Unity.
would be awesome
That’s a NO! on the Ram chassis. I just sold my 2019 Travato 59kl. As fun as it was, the transmission was nothing but trouble. Cheap is a word that comes to mind.
I think they are fine with Ford and MB
YES, Upgrades to All Season, 3000 Inverter, Upgrade Solar Package
Boondock Package, Induction Stove, Larger Water Tank, 4×4 option great for Doondocking, These upgrades should be factory installed
👍
There are a few toads that you could get with that 4500 chassis, so I would love to see that option
Great episode! Where did LTV present these ideas? Can you suggest which Facebook groups to join that are specific to LTV?
The slide is certainly a luxury
Have you heard about them possibly putting the Unity on a Ford Chassis?
I don't think they would. The Ford chassis, while better this year, is still smaller and I think the Unity will always be on the larger platform. I do believe with the extra weight the ford can carry now, that a Wonder Plus could be a thing with extra amenities.
If Leisure Travel comes up with a 4x4, I will definitely order one. I use my rv almost all year round so to be safer in the snow is a high concern for me. Also 4 seat belts for occasional use is a must.
would be awesome
How about adding a fire extinguishing system in areas of the batteries and furnace area? Are there any smoke detectors in those areas?
There are smoke detectors in the coach, which would alert you, but not in the actual battery bay. There is no room for it. I'm sure with a larger coach, you could figure that out, but the LTV is too small for either of those options.
I was surprised by the valve stems on the inner dually...i replaced the outer with
Borg but then discovered a leak in the factory installed extenders on the inners...just ordered Borgs for the inner wheels as well...seems like a factory oversight??
I just wish it came with a factory TPMS
A Canadian 3 day stranded near Moose Jaw minus 35F blizzard package. .incl .Diesel engine heater, electric blanket .winter insulation window coverings ,emergency stobe light roof warning. Transponder ,emergency rations compartment . Built in air compressor for flat tire.
That's some serious winter camping up there
Bad ass paint job options and a place for my golf clubs in all models.
Yeah, golf clubs fit well in some and not others
You may get to have a factory installed LIthionics for your '23 if all goes right. Plus an option for a 3k inverter!
12volt AC and 12 Volt fridge along with a 3000 watt inverter would help
there may be a 3k inverter option coming soon
QQ: what is the towing capacity of the leisure van? Can any floor plan accommodate 2 couples (4 adults)? Many thanks.
The Unity has about 4,000 “safe” pounds but many go up to 4200+. Not sure about Wonder
MORE OFFICE MODELS! for us artists who want to live full time and need the studio space.. i love the FX... i just want to rip out the back area and put my art studio right there... and since i live in the midwest...ill NEED it to be able to handle crazy winters and hot summers.
Winter will also be a bit of a problem for you. LTVs are 3 season coaches.
@@Pagosa i know. im already prepping for those issues.
Hopefully more Lithium options from LTV soon!
Can you please share info on who did it and what was the overall cost? Great to have it for boondocking.
4x4 where winter last 9 months would be awesome.+ winter package✅
a Canadian company should have a four seasons option, right?
@@Pagosa Absolutely. What was LTV thinking and why they are not able to provide that option so far?
Thanks and agree about the LTV quality for sure!
Yes, or the MB has the option for the Leisure Lounge, which is basically a recliner.
Yep, I wish I would have opted to delete solar and add my own
I seem to be hooked on these Unity RV's.
Need four seasons ASAP! Colorado in Spring is awesome but 20 degree nights.
Would love to see Espar diesel heater as an option
Agree. The big diesel pushers have been using diesel for heat for a while and would love to see that come into the LTV
on the air conditioner / heat pump, yes hope they upgrade to a Inverter style variable speed compressor, I converted all our house heating to Fujitsu Heat Pumps, and wow, I can cool the house with 800watts!!!
Yes to the extra seatbelts and inflatable to sleep additional like the option you don’t have to take advantage if they are there
👍
Totally agree that it would be nuts to go 4x4-ing with a six-figure RV!! I’m not a FORD fan; would go RAM for certain....
True!
Dynamax makes a big class C that has 2 propane burners and an induction. seems like a good compromise
@@Pagosa I would think it would take up too much counter space. The portable cooktop just tucks away.
External propane option would be great as well so that you can hook up a 20lb tank.
Yes, that would be great
I finally understood today what "winterizing" the RV means, and I'm assuming there's no way to heat the tanks/lines in a Unity??
Yes to 4x4!
👍
We live in Oklahoma City. If we were to buy an LTV, I would plan for any service needed to be done in the DFW area. Where do you have yours serviced?
The chassis gets serviced at Grapevine Mercedes. Already had a sensor recall and was quick and easy. As for LTV warranty and recalls, Vogt RV in Ft. Worth is the dealer in Dallas area and does the work. I'm sure you could get your Mercedes work done in OKC, but the LTV work would prob be best at Vogt unless there is an LTV dealer in OKC
@@Pagosa Thank you for this information.
How do you store your Berkie and Keurig with the limited counter space? I would love to see a tour of your storage organization.
The mini Keurig fits perfectly behind the faucet and we store the Berkey in the shower while driving.
Great list!
Ford E350/450 for more OCCC and towing capacity.
Or the MB 4500 chassis
@@Pagosa is anyone building an RV on that currently?
@@Pagosa Thank you! I did NOT know that.
Our 2018 FX we just bought has tank heaters. Still wouldn’t trust it plan on winterizing it this year.:(. Next year we’ll be down in the keys!
Haven't had any experience with tank heaters, but sure they would help a bit
How about an ‘entry level’ LTV based on the Ram Promaster chassis? I’m open to a ‘convertible’ combo bath like in the Winnebago Ekko to save space
Yes, the Ford is the entry right now, and it's getting more expensive.
I like the idea of the F550 Ford 4x4 that some large C's sit on. Can go lot's of places with that
@@Pagosa Did you travel to Manitoba to place the order?
@@Pagosa The whole point of the LTV is that it is a B+ and not a C or large C.
More dealerships! I live in Mass and would have to go to Canada or Pennsylvania for a dealer! Also - bigger Murphy bed in rear lounge. Double bed size doesn’t cut it for two adults.
I"m uploading a video right now of each floor plan pros and cons. Take a look!
The other thing not mentioned is repair costs. The Ford, parts available and can be fixes anywhere. Mercedes, not so much.
Keep in mind the Ford Transit can’t be repaired at all Ford dealerships as is the case for the MB. However, MB can be repaired at Frieghtliner locations.
Yes on the 4x4 model
Would be a hit for sure.
do you still stay in hotels when you travel?
If I don' t have my LTV
An expensive but excellent way to increase water capacity would be to have a Cinderella toilet which would do away with a need for a black tank. You could boondock for much longer.
I've heard of those. need to look into it more
Get rid of propane - expand lithium battery capacity for all electric cooking, heat pump AC/heat, expanded solar, auto start diesel generator, and diesel hot water/heat. Compressor 12v/120v fridge. Add in a reserve diesel tank for house/emergency use using propane tank space. Just one easy thing to fill.
Love the no propane idea
That weight savings is amazing on the batteries
My dream escape camper would be... 🙌
More window.. at least one layout with a *rear window option* as well, along with all the other windows and skylights, so we can see out all around. 😍
AWD.
Bunk option with lookout window for my lil guy.
Regular gas instead of diesel engine, and gas generator option, like the 2021 Wonders have.. But that's not a deal-breaker.
3000 pure sine inverter with idk, 600 solar + lithium battery option.. always need more power.😁
Sub zero/extreme heat shield insulation and water tank heater pads option, so I never have to lay awake having panic attacks with this increasingly crazy Texas weather, worrying that pipes will burst if we're stranded for a couple days in a freak storm 🥶.. Or worrying that everything will fry in there when it's 120 degrees F with 70% humidity.🥵 Perhaps there's like a double layer clear film to put on windows so can still have all the windows without losing insulation?
I know - can't have it all - but since we're dreaming..😀
Haha, dreaming of all that
4x4 is perfect for beaches and BLM lands. A must have when there is no pavement. Many State and National Parks don't have paved roads in certain areas. The Florida Dept of Agriculture lands (free camping) is completely none paved.
So that is a WIN for us...
agree!
Are you willing to pay $200,000 for a LTZ? Also absorption refrigerator works on gravity, while compressor pumps the refrigerate.
There needs to be better refrigeration options for sure
I will not buy an LTV unless they make it on a 4x4 Sprinter option... Dry Camping is a big yes for us, and having the ability to use 4-wheel drive better suits what i need.
Should look at the Ekko, it's perfect for that!
LTV needs to go all ELECTRIC, eliminate the LP tank and somehow make the holding/water tanks bigger with that space, AND if they would increase the batteries, you would be fine with solar, no generator and even more space/weight available for bigger holding/water tanks. Would be a total game changer for LTV!!!
agree
The Volta system is the only thing that will make a difference.....every rig should have it
would be nice
We winter camp all the time. You can do it without 4 season.
Maybe I'll give it a try sometime
YES!!! More seatbelts & people sleep above cab!! Please!
Fam of 5 no go ltv :(
Oh and thanks for the video!! Great job!
Thanks!
There is no OVER CAB like in a C. 5 people? It is a B+ not a C. You are going to eat away almost 50% of the OCCC just with 5 people.
Leisure TV has no choice left.... Winnebago Ekko will eat their market share with Four Seasons coach. It is going to be like Blackberry and iPhone saga...!! Though Leisure Travel Van's situation is not as bad, I am just saying for example.
I believe they will address the four seasons capability in upcoming models.
An oven under the the counter would be the only useful solution for me.
yes, that could be a very unsafe thing!
4X4 is important if travel to Denver or go to Chile.
yep
I am in on the 4x4 sprinter.
I live in maine
I think lot's of people would love that option.
That would be hard to do I think unless Sprinter up'd their gross weight. All of these B+'s are already near their max weight. If they did it, it would be a b not a b+ I bet.
4x4 Sprinter Winnebago Era is an example of 4x4 on a B van. Would love to see LTV utilize the 4x4 Sprinter chassis.
Agree!
I want more seatbelts and awd or 4x4.
Also lithium battery, and more solar, and larger or dual alternators for aud in charging. Also I want gas engines, American diesel engines don't work in Central or south America. Dual pane acrylic windows.
More effecient AC like a 12 Volt model or a mini-split.
agree on everything but the seatbelts, don't want any passengers, lol.
Agree
Great video man!
Wait a few more years until you need to need pay repair bills for the POS Benz engine, than you would wish you don’t have one, body looks amazing but that engine sucks and stupid expensive on parts
Don't disagree entirely. But I have an MB dealer about 5 minutes away, so shouldn't be too much of a headache.
Don’t get me wrong the Benz is the nicest for sure of all, just wish they would step up with their engine, the Ford ecoboost is light years ahead of that expensive Benz engine, and also the ecoboost produces way way more power and parts to fix it are way cheaper.
Love Dean to death I like to campers but I would never ever buy one until they become all electric
Looks like they are thinking that way
Electricity is most wasteful method you could possibly employ to create heat.
Asian family value family life. So you better offer2 to three more seatbelts. King size bed and one twin size bed
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching.
4 season, extend size to 27 feet for more storage and bigger holding tanks. 3000 inverter with more rigid solar. Ducted air conditioning. Boon docker option definitely.
Rigid solar is now the standard in 2022 models, so great news
Most people buy the LTV for the easier to drive smaller size. 27 feet is not on my list and would make me skip LTV for someone else.
I think if I were to travel with children, I would go with a larger Class C RV that has a bed over cab.
A 4x4 Unity that you can't get for 18 months to a year plus all parts from Canada!!! Throw that warranty out the window!!!
Aldi heating and water
I've heard those are good systems
Huge NO to the Ram Promaster. Cheap and has no safety features. Ford has much better technology by far. Still would get the rear lounge model. Quieter AC maybe ducted in the Wonder. Heck even some TTs have ducted now. Quiet generator for national parks. Still love the bike garage.
Not sure why they don't duct the wonder
