kinda silly that all three abilities (vital spirit, hustle, insomnia) together imply a strong anxious energy vibe.
Durant would hate this tier. Can only attack every other turn. When it can attack, it doesn’t have full accuracy. And its full strength is only unlocked when it’s at less than 1/3 full HP.

Then can you tell me how Trace works?
@@hamstreak5591 I’m pretty sure it replaces the ability selected in the teambuilder. Kind of like how Neutralizing Gas won’t nullify the ability selected in the teambuilder. It could just dynamically replace Trace, but I’ve never thought about it when I used it.
Skill Link + Technician sounds nasty.
yep Cinccino was a common sight around Pokebilities.
This combo slaps
It’s still possible just use loaded dice. What’s crazy is the addition of a choice band or scarf into the mix while maintaining the effect of the loaded dice.
@@jakerobins9059 loaded dice hits 4-5 not 5 so there is a difference that suprisingly matters more then you think
If only Cinccino was better. It's mediocre strength, 4 moveslot syndrome, single item syndrome, and extreme vulnerability to status make it just average. B- or C+ tier
I'd love to see how ridiculous Pokébilities would get in a Doubles format

It’s very unfun to play against and constraining to teambuilder in pokebilities. Not quite broken since a lot of teams have counters, but if you aren’t running one it’s just autolose on the spot with no counterplay
I recommend to use a banded mold breaker mon, meowsca, or shifu rapid. Flower trick / surging can be hard countered if it has the right Tera though.
It’s not that bad from my experience, but that may mostly be because I was the one using it against a team that countered it and the rest of my team well.
@@Uvvbreon it almost always goes tera-steel to counter both of its type weaknesses. Some even run flame orb over life orb in order to prevent paralysis.
I'd laugh if Charizard was able to use Blaze, Drought, Solar Power, and Tough Claws all at once 🤣

@@nousername191 probably the mega in the newest game coming out. While they are at it, its kind of unfair blastoise and venusaur get abilities? at least ones charizard cant use! Charizard deserves chlorophyll, overgrow, rain dish and torrent.

@@isaacsimpson8098hello I'm from the future and yes super mega charizard gets all of theese abilities plus a signature move that acts like a priority spore and salt cure that affects grass types and ignores the opponent's abilities
Good thing that megas only get their mega ability and not their mega ability+base abilities. Same with alternate forms. For instance, Basculin doesn't get both Rock Head AND Reckless, you have to choose which form
My crackpot idea is that if the same Pokémon has Plus AND Minus, they should both proc (i haven't tested if this works or not)
it would explode (real)
Try using funny guitar lizard.
@@strawzulusansundertalehorr7624 oh shit, does Toxtricity get Punk Rock, Plus, Minus, AND Technician?
klinklang
The current showdown ladder's implementation is very very buggy. Many abilities don't work they way they should. So I highly doubt plus minus works, pretty sure they have a flag for "doubles only abilities" and disable that for single battles.
Shout out to Delibird who can now use both Insonmia and Vital Spirit at the same time.
May as well lift the sleep clause!
Finally, sand veil Garchomp
lol people are unironically running that everywhere on ladder
A friend of mine invited me to play this format and this was LITERALLY my first idea, I used sand veil Garchomp alongside sand veil Cacturne. The rest of the team was Tyranitar, Clefable, Gholdengo and Slaking (I'm a simple man, Stronk Monke + choice band Giga impact = Big Damage = Happy)
Ngl, this format was hella fun!
Well... Except when Basculegion was not banned lol. People were legit running Ability Shield Clodsire purely to counter it lmao.
Sidenote: Bronzong is kind of a sleeper hit. Heatproof + Levitate takes away two of its main weaknesses, and its psychic type makes people think kingambit counters, only to have them to switch into an iron defence boosted 4x super effective body press.
I me a n it gives the ability shield a use tho. Personally i don't like that anything is banned from this tier, i mean especially with ability shield, and sometimes things r just strong oh wells
This is actually how Mystery Dungeon works which can be really overpowered and at the same time kind of redundant like in the case of Riolu or Lucario
Psyduck was goated: being immune to explosions and weather is super relavent.
@@zilosis3794yoooo
This *was* the case until PSMD iirc.
And it's funny that Rivalry was mentioned because at least Gates onward that ability is actually really good and not total garbage like it is in Explorers (and ig Adventure Squad) because rather than being gender-based it's only based on typing which makes it so much better.
@@Kingdeather oh yeah that was the entire point of the Hawlucha tokens, I kinda forgot about that. I don't remember if that started in Gates or not
Neutralizing Gas is currently bugged (or works normally?) Basically for Galarian Weezing whenever you send it out there's a chance it activates Neutralizing Gas first and prevents all other abilities imemdiately... Or it first activates Misty Terrain AND THEN neutralizes abilities lmao. The current implementation on showdown is random, sometimes one happens other times the other does lol
Usually the ability of the fastest Pokemon on the field sets it up first.
I think since wheezing speed ties itself resulting in which activates as random.
If you select NGas in the ability slot, all its abilities will be active, but if you select Levitate or MSurge, only NGas will be active
It's a weird issue in the code that we haven't found out yet
Just use an ability shield on weezing. Its other abilities wont be negated.
Calyrex horse forms: look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power
Even when he tries his hardest, Ursarang slips out once in a while
And don't get me started on Renuclus
So basically everyone is Calyrex
The coolest find I ever found, is that TROPIUS can work.
Chlorophyll + Solar Power + Harvest, a Sun Boosted trinity. its stats still suck yes but now it basically gets a free +1 SpAtk and +2 Speed in sun, and you don't care about Solar Power dropping your HP constantly because you have Harvest in combination with a Sitrus Berry to keep you health up, guaranteed in the sun. You add a moveset of Growth, Air Slash, Solar Beam, and Tera Fire Tera Blast, and while sun is up, your opponent has to respect it, else get sweeped by TROPIUS.
Also if I may, with it being the OM of the month, take a look at Cross Evolution! it's one of the most crazy OMs around especially considering it's based in Ubers, but with something like Girafarig > Milotic running around with nearly 800 BST, it makes sense.
How did we forget about Tropius having both Solar Power and Chlorophyll + funny Harvest under sun
mediocre stats but still very fun to use and viable
medoicre stats, solar power hurts it and its still not really fast enough with chlorophyll + It cant even set up the sun on its own. If you replaced solar power with drought itd probably good.
@@isaacsimpson8098 With chlorophyll a max speed tropius does outspeed an unboosted max speed dragapult. However, its mediocre special isnt doing it any favors.
But with a Berry, it will always heal cause Harvest always works with sunlight....
Garganacl is also very good, he cannot be OHKO, he cannot be statued, and his stats will not get lowered
...Mold Breaker, anyone? In all seriousness, it's a stronger Gholdengo
Yeah this is the reason I need that Tink to be a Ton.
@@Arg13m1th1u5Ability Shield negates
@@-libertyprimev1-902 does it? I thought the Ability Shield negates any changes to the wielder's ability from moves or other abilities, like Worry Seed, Skill Swap, or Neutralizing Gas; whereas Mold Breaker ignores the effect of abilities allowing for, let's say, a fire type move hitting and dealing damage to a Flash Fire mon; or for any non super effective move hitting Shedinja. You getting my point? Ability Shield would not help
@@Arg13m1th1u5 no it does counter Mold Breaker, as per your example Flash Fire Heatran holding an Ability Shield cannot be hit by Mold Breaker FlameMask-Ogrepon's Ivy Cudgel.
If you were to cover Shared Power, that would be phenomenal, in shared power your Pokémon's abilities are shared with the rest of your team, allowing you to have six abilities, it's a similar concept to pokebilites but the meta itself is VERY different, with plenty of extremely powerful pokemon you wouldn't expect to be good, like iron crown, pinchurchin and indeedee. I tried to make a video on it myself, but with my lack of experience and equipment I don't think I did the tier justice
Oh dear god. I remember when contrary used to be legal in that OM. Serp victini cores were everywhere
How does Protosynthesis work there? Could you have 1 Driver then 5 Paradox Pokemon giving it Super-Omni Boost?
@@-libertyprimev1-902 You cant have multiple of the same ability, and protosynthesis is restricted
i don't think i realized that 85 hp, 70 Def, 75 sDef was considered "incredibly frail" with regard to porygon z
never played competitively, but find it interesting anyways
for a pokemon with a better defensive type its ok enough with good ev investment, but for a normal type wallbreaker its pretty bad
So power creep has gotten so insane in current generations, even 100 defenses / 90 HP pokemon aren't really considered "bulky". Good example is Galarian Slowbro.
Also, in the past even 70 def pokemon with full defensive investment can still survive hits and be considered good checks (if they have recovery). A good example is gen 4 breloom which had amazing recovery.
@@KaijuGal-rb9ek Exactly yeah. Type coverages matter a lot more. Hence Klefki being a great defensive pokemon inspite of having horrible stats.
if it were lets say fairy or steel type it could be really strong. But having no resistances, due to being normal, with those average stats means its frail
Lucario has 70/70/70 defenses.
When I was a kid I thought hidden abilities worked like this lol
Thank you so much for working with me to make this video. It was an absolute pleasure assisting with this and I'm glad that the meta will be getting more attention after this!
What about Bibarel? Simple, Unaware AND Moody. (Simple AND Moody).
So every turn you get +4 in one stat and -2 in another. It could get some insane high-rolls, but also having the potential for a boost on the wrong attack stat and cutting one of your defenses or speed in half turn 1 means it’s even more chaotically random than normal moody. 🤔
Yeah you ignore their +6ATK. But they also ignore your +6ATK because of Unaware.
That's an o7
@@chrayez that should be a real ability called "bipolar", it would just be funny and have it be on like cosmog or something like that for extra memes
Unaware only ignores the opponent's stat changes, so Bibarel's stats would still matter

Alolan Ninetales could be interesting. Snow cloak and snow warning with aurora veil, blizzard, nasty plot, and draining kiss or moonblast could be terrifying.

god ice beam blissey was so silly here
Alolan Ninetales, with snow warning to set up snow, and snowcloak to hide in snow, and then aurora veil, the defence boost from aurora veil, the defence boost from snow, and evasion from snowcloak, Alolan Ninetales sounds like it could get some stuff done

That concept is just like Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky.

I'm shocked Kingambit isn't utterly broken with two of the best offensive abilities in the game on it at once. Intimidate must not be common in this meta
I got so excited when I saw the thumbnail thinking you did a pokebilities session
I was dreaming of a metagame like this for months now, i am so happy someone decided to create it, and thank you for covering it

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: "Am I a joke to you?"
Minccino gets skill link+ technician+ stab tail slap. Pretty good coverage too, in triple axel, bullet seed, and rock blast. Also gets a pretty solid move pool apart from that too.
Kleavor gets sharpness+ sheer force +stab on stone edge. Stone edge being a hundred base power, coming off of a 135 attack stat.
Pelipper gets drizzle+ rain dish, and A. Ninetails gets snow cloak+ snow warning.
This is sick, might get into the meta :3
Yooo OMF2097 soundtrack!! wasnt expecting the nostalgia trip

I misunderstood the title and thought it meant all abilities from all Pokemon, which would not only be a nightmare to untangle interactions but funny because everyone gets the op abilities but have slow start, truant, and defeatist.
Would love to see more OM analysis!
It was always nice that in mystery dungeon, every pokemon could have 2 abilities.
Psyduck having water type to walk on water, plus being immune to weather effects and explosiobs made it incredible in rescue team.
The time this is bad though was Riolu being immune to cringe/flinch and getting a boost from being flinched/cringing.
When I first learned about secondary abilities, I thought they worked like this, where a pokemon would always have its base ability and then occasionally would have it's secondary ability on top of that

Cinccino gets Technician + Skill Link (and Cute Charm) while having held item freedom.
Mainline is really sleeping on all the potential Mystery Dungeon set up
I first thought of breloom with technician, poison heal and effect spore (immediately the worst one, but a neat bonus).
Pokébilities Doubles would probably make Hisuian Arcanine the best Intimidator since it threatens Incin with recoilless Head Smash and a Flare Blitz swap with Flash Fire, which it can then throw into Incin's allies with no recoil.
Okay, okay! Certainly would be cool if you covered more modes like these.

I don't remember if you've covered it before, but I would love it if you spotlighted Mix and Mega. It's fallen off in popularity over the years but it provided a bunch of different viable options and it's probably my favorite OM of all time, particularly the form it took back in Gen 6 and 7.

i love seeing conkeldurr on top. one of my favorite boyos
One thing that I have noticed about singles formats is that regarldess fo the ruleset there are always quite a few bans to get the format in to a decent state. I wonder if all these broken pokemon would still have to be banned if it was doubles instead.
And we have rockruff the goat with 4 abilities xD
Oh, that’s so cool. I didn’t know if this was a thing.
Theres actually an Emerald hack with this feature called Elite Redux. The hack also adds abilities based on Pokedex entries, like most Pokemons that stated they prey on other Pokemons gets an ability that recover their HP upon K.O.
i would love to see how wildly different the meta goes once we get out of OU. i assume there is only you play this or you don't but if there was the same separation normal play has would i assume that the lower tiers change far more radical where all the objectively good pokemon are already filtered out, but then also all the pokemon that suddenly are good. its a compounding effect that adds to the already existing change
ah, I see my Heatran being frozen by Ice Beam made it into the video
Kingambit unlocks his true potential. My shogun is out there raising attack through "no u" drops and from losing teammates.
Imagine if he kept inner focus from his previous evolutions instead of pressure.
I like how every time that something fundamental in Pokemon is changed in any gimmick idea, makes porygon-Z or Excadrill really good or really bad
