I love this style of informal video, Maren. Also, I'm glad you shared that you use these products and take days off retinol. Ever since I started using retinol I have not used acids, so I'm excited to try your system and alternate between them. Yes on a product review of the Versed body retinol please!
glad you liked it! i LOVE my alternating skincare routine at night between retinoids and acids. it works great for my skin. hope you find the right balance for yourself!

Thank you for your honest reviews on products we can purchase at Target, Walgreens, and other local pharmacy stores. I use Elf products, been using them for about 6-7 months, my dry sensitive face has been happy. I do want to try the new line of Elf’s products. At night I do use the night cream you recommend. Well, I am here to tell you, that stuff works great too! I ordered it after watching your video. Two downsides, 1. Hi Maren I have super sensitive skin, but I've always used my facial skincare on my neck and chest since my teens (thank you mum for telling me to do so). At 50 they're both looking the same age range as my face lol, which I think speaks to the care I have shown them. My hands - well twenty years of nursing (constant hand washing and alcohol scrubs) did a bit of a number on them, but being eczema prone/very dry skinned I've used a ton of cream on them for years (including heavy cream under gloves overnight). They're not as young looking as my face, but considering the challenges they've dealt with aren't too bad lol. I'm now disabled, so my hands have recovered a bit and the care I have lavished on them has improved them. I use a retinoid on them regularly to plump out the skin and it has helped. I just mix the ordinary retinol in sqalane oil into my hand cream and rub in every night - a cheap and cheerful way to use retinol on them that works. This also helps the cuticle and nail due to the oil/cream mixture. I also use a 10% urea cream on alternate nights with the retinol which is great for the nails and helps with cell turnover too. Best wishes.
Oh no I just bought all those exfoliants separately from The Ordinary. I am looking forward to trying this after seeing your video. Thanks for showing us from beginning to end how it works. And YESSS would love to see more about body retinol products. Thanks again! ❤️
Does the eye balm affect those who have milia under eye? I was using vaseline on my face after my evening routine before bed and milia started developing
great question. I answered this in depth in another comment - but the gist of it is that my skin barrier right now is very healthy and balanced so I'm not too dry right now and not losing excessive water through my skin. so after I used this product, my skin felt really smooth and not tight at all. I didnt need a moisturizer. not everyone will need a moisturizer all the time, totally depends on skin type and current condition. since the initial use, I have been using it a few times a week and I sometimes will pair a light moisturizer after it and I still get great results the next morning with that!
Your videos are always full of great tips. Wondering if you think mature skin can also benefit from nights off RetinA? I’ve always heard it’s the best ingredient for softening wrinkles.
it is my top ingredient for wrinkles. But...you can still get enough benefit using it just several nights a week. if you have other problem areas for your skin that you want to target with other ingredients, you can certainly take nights off from retinol and use other products. I love an alternating day skincare routine!
Thank you so much for the detailed review ❤️...Just wanted to know if the Doctor's Visit Instant Resurfacing Mask has no alcohol, fragrance or essential oil in it? Love your videos!❤️😁❤️
Hi, I always watch your videos and really like them. I have combination skin so could you please guide me to use something very good at night as I have aging signs on my face. At present I am using Vichy night spa nothing else. Thanks 😊
Hey Maren .. Do you ever use CUREL moisture milk ?? I have very dry skin over the winter and gave the ELF holy hydration cream a trial ... Still seemed to get a lot of dry patches on face ... Curel seems a lot better but is only like a lotion .. What does it contain that are the main benefits for the skin ??
As an experiment, you did not use a night moisturizer.....so would love to hear about your next morning/day results. And do you think this product would be ok to use on mature dry facial skin? Thanks!
I have been using this since the video. Some nights I will put a moisturizer on depending how my skin feels. This is just my personal use. Most people may want to follow this up with moisturizer depending on how healthy and hydrated the skin barrier is to start with. I think this is great for mature skin as well.
I have super sensitive skin and have used several times with no problems. I do use a moisturizer, however, as I have very dry skin! I am 77 BTW! Trying the eye balm next! :)
I use L’Oréal’s glycolic cleanser in the morning to prep for Vitamin C serum (per your advice). Is using this at night too much exfoliation in one day?
Totally depends! I usually dont use these in same day. Cleansers have pretty short contact time on skin though and some will not have an issue! Love that cleanser :)
Sounds like a good product to try! I appreciate your candid eval of this! I cannot find to link to those face cloths you used here. Can you list it pls? THx
oh yes, the retinol lotion is perfect for that. ive been really liking it. ill post a video on that soon since it seems like you all want more info on it!
Do you have anything for Alopecia. I was on Tamoxifen for 5 years dealing with breast cancer and that was my chemo. I lost all my hair back in 2005 and got alopecia as well. Then in 2019 had a double mysectomy D flap. I have a full set of hair in the back of my head but bald spots on my crown and sides. What can I use
GREAT question. Both can be useful. Retinol (in general) will be better for discoloration/long-term texture improvement/brightening and perhaps some anti-aging benefits to the skin such as firming. Amlactin is great for more dry skin to help loosen and remove dead skin cells while also moisturizing the skin. This will help texture more rapidly.

I would like to know how the mask smells? I tried their cleansing balm, and while I thought it worked well, the smell was a bit much for my sensitive nose. (It smelled more like roses to me than eucalyptus.) Wondering if this mask has a similar smell??
Great point! The cleansing balm really does have a spa-like smell to me which i find soothing but its definitely not necessary. A good alternative option to that is the elf makeup melting cleansing balm (i believe that is fragrance free if im remembering correctly off the top of my head!). This doctors mask has less of a scent in my opinion.
@@acarroll I should try that one! I have the Clinique cleansing balm that I will try for the first time tonight; I believe that's unscented too, but I know ELF will be much more budget friendly! (I love the ELF unscented moisturizer!)
@@AllyKit botanicals can be irritated to some people with allergic contact dermatitis to those ingredients, not necessarily "sensitive" skin. sensitive skin can be irritated by any product/ingredient which is very individualized to your particular skin type and condition. i consider my skin "sensitive" yet this product and many other topical acids work very well for me. vit c stings my skin quite a bit on application but only lasts a few seconds to a minute and doesnt leave lasting redness. so everyone is different! there is not a "one size fits all" rule for ingredients that all sensitive skin types should avoid. skincare is a bit of trial and error for most people. hope you find something that works for you!
I just ordered this and the eye balm also the "skin soak" moisturizer do you think I ordered the correct products for mature skin? Ty again.. I value your advice..as a senior $$ limited ..
Hahaha I have a friend who uses that retinol lotion on her booty only! She swears by it 🤣 I never even thought of using it anywhere but my hands and face
you probably could...i prefer a product that is formulated for the face, they tend to be a bit more elegant. body lotion products can be heavy for facial skin.
I like when derms try or at least talk about tiktok skincare things that may or may not work. Have you tried retinol body products from advanced clinicals, replenix or perricone?

No irritation the next day. Very soft and dewy. I have been using it since and some nights I will use a moisturizer depending on how my skin feels
I’ve only tried the eye balm and I love it!!!!
love that one too! a balm is pretty unique. creates a nice barrier on the skin!
Hi, can you review the retinol serum/cream for the face from Versed? Thanks in advance
Impressive! Thanks for your review of this product.
Will the mask affect a fake tan on the face when using?
Can I use CeraVe moisturizing lotion after using it ?
Thank you so much Doctor.❤️💐
you are so welcome!
I also do the same!!
Sounds like a good product to try! I appreciate your candid eval of this! I cannot find to link to those face cloths you used here. Can you list it pls? THx
It is listed at the top. I looked it up on Amazon and am going to order! HTH
I too was wondering about body care. I have some crepy skin on my arms around from my wrist to my elbow.
oh yes, the retinol lotion is perfect for that. ive been really liking it. ill post a video on that soon since it seems like you all want more info on it!
@@TheBudgetDermatologist yes please!!!
Gold Bond also makes a Crepey Skin cream. I have not been using long enough to see any results but my friend highly recommends!
Great review Dr
Do you have anything for Alopecia. I was on Tamoxifen for 5 years dealing with breast cancer and that was my chemo. I lost all my hair back in 2005 and got alopecia as well. Then in 2019 had a double mysectomy D flap. I have a full set of hair in the back of my head but bald spots on my crown and sides. What can I use
What moisturizer do you use at night when you don’t want any retinols, etc as you mentioned when using the above product?
my top favorite is the double repair moisturizer by la roche posay
Thank you! I’ll give it a shot.
Appreciate your channel! 😊
Thank you for sharing this!!! ❤️
thanks for following along!
Can breastfeeding mamas use this product? Or the others mentioned?
Would love to get good recommendations of body products from you ❤️ especially I’m now in my 50s

It's always dangerous when i go into ulta lol so many new products to try!! Hope you enjoy it!

i filmed this a bit ago and im still loving it. my skin feels so smooth.
Advanced Clinical Retinol Cream: Would you do a review/advise on this product? It's very inexpensive; approximately $5.99 at Walmart.
Maybe this is a dumb question... but how would you decide between using a body retinol lotion vs an Amlactin type product?
GREAT question. Both can be useful. Retinol (in general) will be better for discoloration/long-term texture improvement/brightening and perhaps some anti-aging benefits to the skin such as firming. Amlactin is great for more dry skin to help loosen and remove dead skin cells while also moisturizing the skin. This will help texture more rapidly.

@@TheBudgetDermatologist I can imagine 😊
I would like to know how the mask smells? I tried their cleansing balm, and while I thought it worked well, the smell was a bit much for my sensitive nose. (It smelled more like roses to me than eucalyptus.) Wondering if this mask has a similar smell??
Great point! The cleansing balm really does have a spa-like smell to me which i find soothing but its definitely not necessary. A good alternative option to that is the elf makeup melting cleansing balm (i believe that is fragrance free if im remembering correctly off the top of my head!). This doctors mask has less of a scent in my opinion.
I use the Elf cleansing balm and love it! No smell at all.
@@acarroll I should try that one! I have the Clinique cleansing balm that I will try for the first time tonight; I believe that's unscented too, but I know ELF will be much more budget friendly! (I love the ELF unscented moisturizer!)
Is this product good for dry mature skin?..over 60? If not what can I use.. sensitive skin type but dry..ty
i definitely think so! many ages and skin types can get benefit from this product as well as these ingredients!
I know! most people dont. A body skincare routine is important too!
Hello! Why can't I use the retinol body lotion on the face?
you probably could...i prefer a product that is formulated for the face, they tend to be a bit more elegant. body lotion products can be heavy for facial skin.
TY for sharing!
TY for watching!!
I like when derms try or at least talk about tiktok skincare things that may or may not work. Have you tried retinol body products from advanced clinicals, replenix or perricone?
I would also like to hear her opinion on retinol body products.
yes ill talk about retinol body products soon!
Omg your skin ❤️
Your skin looks amazing!! How would you say this compares to other AHA/BHA masks (specifically the Drunk Elephant Babyfacial and The Ordinary AHA/BHA mask)? The Drunk Elephant mask has been my go-to, but I'm looking for a more affordable alternative
Thanks!! I want to do a video on the ordinary one. I'll try to do that soon. Stay tuned. It is definitely more affordable. But you have to be careful with that one it is pretty strong.
I’m not use to these kinds of videos from you but ok, keep them coming something new and fun!!
Ok queen, but you still need to lock in that moisture ;)
would this product be safe to use during pregnancy?
check with your doc!
