Sad to see the SRT10 potentially go. I remember when you rebuilt the brake calipers at your parents' house in Canada. I'm not sure if you have heard of flood protection barriers made by Emenar, but they could be something worth looking into in preparation for future storms. Hope you make it through this one okay. Keep us updated if you can.
Left Inverness this morning and headed north a little bit in my 2012 short bed single cab 4 x 4 Express pulling a cargo conversion camper with a lot of stuff. That Diablosport Trinity Platinum tuner I got a few weeks back was well worth the 700 dollars. That truck pulled that camper better than ever before. That white truck is sweet.
Stay safe John I have three families that are being mandatory being evacuated one went to the hospital to stay with her mom and the other two families headed further north and are lucky enough to have family there!!! Hopefully you won’t get any damage to your beautiful fleet of cars and no structural damage to any parts of your home,my prayers are with you to be safe during the storm!!!
Jon, I feel for you my friend. Since I was a kid, I've been thru alot of hurricanes & a few tornados. They are not good to deal with & recover. My suggestion for your vehicles parked on the ground/floor, find a few old or unused rims & placed them under each wheel to give you a few feet off the ground in case the water level get high or too high. If I was you, I'd put that viper on bed of your many trucks in case of flooding. Anything to keep your belongings high off the ground. Do you have plenty of good battery charger packs or batteries? And when possible, try to consume minimal battery power to extened battery life. Do you have plenty of food stocked? You can store your cold stuff in your RV fridge if possible. I do hope you & your partner & your many friends, neighbors make it thru ok after the passing of that hurricane. Stay safe out there.
I grew up in Florida near where you are located. You should be fine. Just a thought for your hurricane prep. Mine uses no electricity or refrigerator. I have a gravity water filter that can purify any water and depending on size produce 1000s of gallons. I have dehydrated camping meals and a small camping stove to boil water. No electricity or refrigeration needed and it all doesn't cost a lot to assemble the kit. Keep safe.
You could have a deco drain installed in front of the roll up doors, similar to a pool deck deco drain. Should stop your water intrusion problem. Good luck be safe in the next few days
Put plastic under the bricks from one side to another, it will eliminate the leakage coming thru once we get hammered. It’s similar what Tampa General Hospital uses on the bay no water gets through. You been here long enough, you are now a christened “Florida Man, we Built Different” 😂
With that Mustang you got there you should go by just a Halo kit like it and put it in the fog lights area but you'll still have opening for the air flow it will make the car look even better
Jon on the garage door why don't you but a roll up door? and then sell the original door set up or keep it incase you want to switch back.. I got one and put it in myself the hardest part is getting the main roll up door at the top of the door...it is a Sheetmetal door that rolls up into a coil basically for the clearance you are looking for mine was 8 ft wide by 9 ft tall and I paid $1,050.00 for it installation was going to be $700.00 I rented a man lift to lift it into place that was $170.00 a day from home depot where I am...i dont have a lift but if i did i would only be able to ligt it half way because of the what a regular door would have to hang with a door opener....i can put a door opener on this one it has the brackets already on the assembly. 4 bolts and plug it into the wall but the door is not all that heavy because of the spring lift thats already there.....the only draw back is if you dont hsave the power lift on it you have a slide lock on theoutside to hang a padlock.....but it rolls up in its self contained spot and from the wall stud to the outter edge when rolled up/open it ia 11 inches and opens up the ceiling area to put a car or truck all the way up.....i love the thing....
Stay safe man. Dam I know I was the person to noticed years ago, but you still have those dam Pennsylvania Inspection stickers on that SRT10 Ram. How old are those dam stickers?
Good luck with the storm and good on ya for doing prep. Also fuck the shit talkers for giving you a hard time about hurricane prep. I spent most of my life in Nova Scotia and we always hurricane prepped, even though we mostly only get tropical storms or low level hurricanes. We would always lose power and then spend days cutting trees up that fell on the roads. Now I'm in Alberta and it's tornados and hail storms.
