Side note, try and stick with the same class all game and if your gonna switch do it off an ammo crate or ifv/apc. If you change roles off the spawn screen you spawn with no ammo and will drain all of your teams ammo in the field when you rearm. but if you switch of an ammo crate or a vehicle it will cost much less ammo

So I got squad in sale, the game has been out for a while now so you'd think there would be plenty of beginner guides out there that explain the fundamentals of the game...there isn't... it's this. This is the single video I've found that actually explains what the fuck you're supposed to do in the game. I know a lot of content creators have hundreds of hours in the game and see a video like this as pointless but I want to say thank you as it really isn't as cut and dry as something like hell let loose in terms of what you're supposed to do.

it's not THAT complex but it's also not like other shooters where you can run around like rambo and kill everyone I play R6 alot so it definitely took me awhile to get used to squad but once I did it's now one of my favourite games and before I knew it I was addicted lol
Hell Let Loose definitely helped soften the transition from Battlefield and the like to this type of gameplay, but Squad is certainly on another level. The chaos is terrifying and amazing! Thank you for a guide to help point me in the right direction.

you do need to communicate on a mic but not much, just an "affirmative" to allow the squad leader to know you hear them every so often will get you by most of the time but im new and am finding every one super friendly
how do the vehicles spawn? i think the game looks fun but i would be more intrested in driving logistics trucks or other vehicles. so are the vehicles limited or something?
They spawn at HQ at the start and when they get destroyed there's a timer until they spawn again. A common tactic is to destroy the tires of an enemy logistics vehicle in a remote location so it can't spawn and the enemy can't build a FOB.
Depends on which button is being held or toggled and by whom. I'm a left hander so my right hand is my keyboard hand so I prefer toggling Vs holding as it frees up a finger to hit another key
@@milesmartig5603 it does but check out some dlss settings guides for squad. You can make the scope clear by upscaling it before it automatically turns off when you turn on dlss and it stays clearer!

A FOB is a Forward Operating Base, basically the base you can build when an SL drops a radio. The HAB is specifically the spawn bunker. But it's often used interchangeably.
From the few games I’ve had- (bought the game yesterday) a few of the “new player friendly” servers aren’t that at all! And some are! If you tell your squad you’re brand new- 8 out of 10 times they will explain as you go!
These games don't care who u are or where u located. Just don't be a Jerk and you will be fine. Don't preach politics or religion ect.... its just a game and players want to have fun win or lose.
way too mean-sounding voice + no info regarding the ticket draining system, or what the reason/s is/are behind the SL telling you "dig down the radio" - why?
Allowing the enemy team to destroy one of your radios makes you lose (not sure but I think 25) tickets. So when you think you can't hold the position of a radio it's best to dig it down and prevent ticket loss.
@@hex2637 yeah, about that, when one finds him-/herself in the kit picking/spawning menu with the map etc, in the top right corner, there is a ticket symbol - that I just found out about - which shows exactly those numbers; -x tickets if X is gone, -2 or -5 tickets if commander gets killed and so on.
I really like the part where he says he's going to assume we know the basics and then proceeds to go through the options menu, explaining the most basic gaming procedures. You should be checking graphics and key bindings every time you start a new game. That's just common sense.
yeah but knowing which keys in this game should be rebound is a different matter.. you aint gonna need the map so much in other BF type shooters.. knowing the importance of different controls is a different subject

Another note, you can circumvent this by spawning at your main base. Spawning at your main will resupply everything on you.

I got squad during the HLL update 14. Squad is a completely different beast.
Yeah it has some similarities with HLL but everything goes much deeper

I also get confused when they tell me to dig down a built tower and then tell me i must unbuild it
