Sometimes nobody talks and its super boring you kinda do your own thing and Alt-F4 mid game cos you CBF. The game lives and dies on good SLs. Unfortunately this also leads to good SLs getting burnt out because it feels like they have to SL every round. Sometimes you just want to be a grunt and whenever you do you get someone that barely SLs at all
Being a good a squad leader or even commander is HARD sometimes. You have to direct your squad, coordinate with other SL’s , maintain moral and make decisive decisions while a lot of the time being under fire. A good squad leader is a tough job and commend those who have learned the role.

This is why a commander shouldn't have to watch over 8 dudes. Make it standalone so you only have to manage other squads, and so you're the only one with access to both putting down any type of building whilst also having a shovel.
What I've learned about Squad is that there are a lot of actual Veterans that play it, this being known the older men being squad leaders and commanders is the best/easiest way to win.

New SLs get backseated for not knowing how to play and I will say nearly 90% of the player base does not know how to play the game correctly nor has the patience to. The new updates 300M -> 400M exclusion zone did not help either. The likeliness of a squad leader in a pub game knowing what to do or being able to coordinate with SLs are very rare from server to server unless you know specific ones that contain them. Squad leading also sucks mainly because no one has the patience to deploy rallies or even work on building habs. 80% of squad leading is trying to round up sheep to play the objective or take the time to setup the next objective or to go wait on defense. You are literally actively fighting your squads attention span which is already very short.

As an amazing SL myself, you have to be willing to lay down in a building in the middle of your squad and simply play chess with your pieces. Rarely do I get in firefights. I'm laying down coordinating way more than I'm shooting. It's all about organizing logistics, placing your team in the correct area, laying down and moving your pieces so that you adjust with the new flanks of the enemy.
I never watch these style gameplay videos I’m usually looking at guides and meta gaming style stuff for squad but when you actually have a good SL it makes normal gameplay vids worth watching.
Best advice is to find a server that's dedicated to the team/squad play and stick with that server as much as possible. I usually load into a seed server while in long queues for the good teamwork oriented servers.
The enjoyment of Squad for me is 90% in the hands of the squad leader. The other 10% are the amazing and funny ass interactions with the other players especially when there is proximity chat with the other team on the server.
The best thing about a tactical shooter is also the worst thing about it, you can't enjoy it without good teammates and you don't always get good teammates, but when you do it sure is a blast (talking from PR experience)
I'm not in the military (yet, but I won't get into that). I'm a volunteer firefighter in a relatively big volunteer fd. What I can say is that many here are impressed by the SL for "micromanaging". While I agree, bad ass dude, what he's doing is not called micromanaging. Micromanaging is by definition telling your guys more than they need to hear and it sucks and people don't enjoy that kind of leadership. Micromanaging is making decisions for your guys and giving orders that they know to do themselves and don't need you to tell them to do it. I'd call this effective comprehensive coordination of assets. It's not micromanaging because the orders add to the success of the squad and not things the squad members would do by themselves.
I love these kind of rounds. I recommend (if youre in Europe) to join the 44th servers. There the almost 70% of the time the squad leads are like that.
Most sad experience of Squad is that good sqiad leaders are so rare. And most of the times I get back to the game I get to te squad where nonone is communicating. It is so bad then...
I’d really love to see you join a clan that runs more serious games. I recently joined 1stRB and literally within an hour of finishing their intro interview thing I was in a squad session that lasted 4 games and had some of the BEST teamwork I’ve ever experienced in Squad
What could also help this game among other things would be to change this "super exiting" 12 o clock sunny (not existing) weather in most maps. The maps just feel dead. There is no weather, there is no real wind or anything. There are no sounds that would indicate wind exists. The eternal 12 o clock sunny day takes away what was cool even in Operation Flashpoint back in the day. I know there are also maps with different lighting, but mostly, its this. They could add fog, rain, wind gusts. Overall its a quite sterile experience the way it is.
Yeah, a good SL makes a huge difference. But I can also even enjoy the "bad" ones, realizing the mistakes and trying to recover. It´s part of the magic of public games :)
So I haven’t played in over a year. Love this game with over 950 hours. I’m back and both games I got into were absolutely horrible. Squad leader not talking, no plan, everyone doing their own thing… two days two separate games… WTF. I am now trying to get into a server I remember being good and there’s always 20 people ahead of me so I move on. Got new PC and this was first game I couldn’t wait to play again. Disappointing
Aggree on the bugs... Not gonna lie I was a little upset when they had that "content feedback" a week or so ago to recommend them new content they should be working on.... Absolutely no. Spend like half a year just fixing all the bullsh*t bugs this game is plagued by... :/ You can't play for 10 minutes before a bug rips your ass out the game at this point.
Bro was letting one out before entering the battlefield 😂 Which reminds me of a video of a dude who was out in the frontlines letting one out then gets a nade dropped on him by a drone.
I had a game where squad lead led this massive fucking push up to this FOB. Dude got us through so much. Then he left abruptly and the entire team just deteriorated into fuckups lol
I think a great squad leader makes the game...the game sucks if you have a bad squad leader! but if you have a good one like this dude. it makes it just amazing!
If AI ever gets to a level, imagine having ChatGPT as command lol. It maintains communication with all squads, gets them organized into doing something, and then makes sure the squads execute that the way their doing it.
this is why im saying ICO didnt change anything its all about squad leaders i would even say ICO made many experience ppl leave so now u need to be very lucky do get a good squad lead
if people want gamepay like this, I cant stress enough how important it is to join a capable clan, cause solo'ing into random squad half the time you just find incompetence.
This makes we wanna play as squad lead but getting yelled at by a baby commander who rage quitted after his "perfect" plan gone horribly wrong is another story.

The eternal 12 o clock sunny day takes away what was cool even in Operation Flashpoint back in the day. I know there are also maps with different lighting, but mostly, its this. They could add fog, rain, wind gusts. Overall its a quite sterile experience the way it is.
Love the commentary, good round!
I recognize at least half of the players in this video lol. You got some good ones on your team.
Rektikel is literally him
Yeah, a good SL makes a huge difference. But I can also even enjoy the "bad" ones, realizing the mistakes and trying to recover. It´s part of the magic of public games :)
i gradually turned gay for SL as the match progressed
SLs who don’t pollute with too much talk. Fuck yeah that guy is amazing
Disappointing
the best moments is when you have that group of irl friends going on spec ops missions by yourselfs😂
I like the way you do your video. I like your commentary, you're really funny. And I like that you show condensed interesting squad gameplay :)
your commentary is actully so good with his total seriousness😂😂
Aggree on the bugs... Not gonna lie I was a little upset when they had that "content feedback" a week or so ago to recommend them new content they should be working on.... Absolutely no. Spend like half a year just fixing all the bullsh*t bugs this game is plagued by... :/ You can't play for 10 minutes before a bug rips your ass out the game at this point.
Be the change.
I giggled more times than id like to admit watching this :'D
Yeah, in the world of automatic matchmakers, its rare that people form strong communities and thus good teammates (leaders in this case).
Bro was letting one out before entering the battlefield 😂
Which reminds me of a video of a dude who was out in the frontlines letting one out then gets a nade dropped on him by a drone.
I don't even play squad but this is very entertaining
captain cookie is the man who will love u forever
imagine working as a squad leader of another squad with this guy
I had a game where squad lead led this massive fucking push up to this FOB. Dude got us through so much.
Then he left abruptly and the entire team just deteriorated into fuckups lol
Good leader
I think a great squad leader makes the game...the game sucks if you have a bad squad leader! but if you have a good one like this dude. it makes it just amazing!
i wish i could find more squads like this....
I feel like arma/squad/hell let loose enjoyment is directly in line with tour squad leader
Lol, imagine him at full power!
Bro, I simply just love you
If AI ever gets to a level, imagine having ChatGPT as command lol.
It maintains communication with all squads, gets them organized into doing something, and then makes sure the squads execute that the way their doing it.
props to the amazing SL
Bro i just random join your video and i am in your squad AHAHAHAH good game
This was such a beautiful romance story slorgs!
Amezing content mate keep making videos like this
Dude has probably been playing the game since it was first playable.
Defense is for chads, not losers
bro got squad leader rizzed
I just realized that most squad leaders are actually old people, which means it is a good sign that you're in the good squad
this is why im saying ICO didnt change anything its all about squad leaders i would even say ICO made many experience ppl leave so now u need to be very lucky do get a good squad lead
if people want gamepay like this, I cant stress enough how important it is to join a capable clan, cause solo'ing into random squad half the time you just find incompetence.
Squad on a planet side2map 😂
Like the video people, cmonnnn.. this is quality content.
You ain't lying
This makes we wanna play as squad lead but getting yelled at by a baby commander who rage quitted after his "perfect" plan gone horribly wrong is another story.
Got the same one day with an active german Soldier. He was in the Airborne Division from the Bundeswehr he was one man of a kind😂 you can defenitly tell if somebodys job is to be in the warzone👍😅
man this looks so good!
I hope Bohemia roll out ARMA IV some time soon lol
Great gameplay!
8:00 turned that dude into borscht
11:59 so u can deploy on a rail but not a window 😂
12:15 THIS IS THE MOST FUNNIEST PART OF THE MATCH. HAHAHA, THEY'RE LIKE THOSE MAGNETS!
