@Fak Gooby Nah, that's just part of the mindeset. The main mindset most of the time is that since you're not penalised in any way for reloading excessively in most shooters, it just gets ingrained into your brain to do it since you've done it dozens of other Shooters, why not this one?
@@Manglet762 It's actually something that has long bothered my brain in games. I'm not a hyper-gun person irl, but I have shot handguns both in the military and back home, and even if you carry a box of ammo on you, reloading the bullets into your magazine takes time. In most shooters, you have some kind of magic backpack you chunk your magazines into and some robots reload them for you or SOMEthing, but irl, you have to reload those bullets 1 by one (or I guess there are some reloading devices, but you still have to reload them), and something about games doing this has always been weird to me. But if you have a magazine with 28 rounds still in it, reloading is a poor move.

Just let people know you're new, that will decrease the yelling. But yelling will happen, like if you have a 50. Cal opening up next to you, then you have to yell, to hear your own voice 😂

Even though I was in the way and in the wrong place all of the time during the match, it was very helpful for the SL know he cannot count on me, and I got to experience the game first hand. Other helpful tips for new players: look for a server with "new player friendly" in the name, and if at all possible, try the game out on a "Free weekend play" before you buy it. Everyone expects matches to be flooded with noobs then, and know to either dial down their expectations, or to lock their server with a password if playing with noobs is beneath them.

A little note on tickets and time: The importance of tickets vs time varies per game mode too. If you're playing AAS (Advance and Secure) your tickets will be more valuable. If you're playing Invasion, the importance is different depending on if you're offense or defense. Defense starts with a massive number of tickets to hold the defensive positions where as offense is limited on both tickets and time to take the defensive positions. Though if Karma is doing a full tutorial he'll touch on this difference later.

I’ve had this game for a few weeks but have been hesitant because of intimidation and not having anyone to play with. This vid was by far one of the most informative and confidence boosting I’ve seen. Thank you, I’ll be subscribing.
I've been gaming for 37 years and started on the atari 2600. I have never ventured into the world of PC gaming and kept it simple with just console gaming until just recently. I stumbled upon this game over on steam and figured it would be a great way to learn how to play using keyboard and mouse with it being not as fast paced as your typical console FPS games like Call Of Duty. I have NEVER had a game captivate me like this and I have been trying my best to explain it to buddies. I don't have many games under the belt as I have been trying my best to stick with training to get used to movements first so this video helped a lot. I didn't realize there was that admin feature to change maps and that was exactly what brought me here now. Thank you for that. I know I'm new to pc gaming but my God this is some overwhelming stuff and just the scale and work that goes into making this is hard to fathom. But no game involving guns has kept me in a game for an hour before realizing I was having a blast and didn't even have a kill. And the first kill.... goosebumps... another gaming first. Superb game and great video that helps a lot
I just started playing squad and have logged 10 hours so far, but one thing that got me used to infantry movement was playing in an armored vehicle squad. You get the clear the front line and help infantry advance, which helps you learn a lot about positioning since you’re in a ‘safer’ vehicle and going in balls deep.
Really looking forward to this series! I just got Squad from the Steam Halloween Sale and put in 6 hours straight on my first day. This game really is a gem! 👍
Amazing guide, this basically took away my fear of getting thrown in to the game without sufficient tutorial and ruining the game for everyone and myself.
That ammo crate part at 17:00 should have had a bit more info how things works. When you join the server and make your first spawn you will have full kit - it doesn't matter whether you spawn rally or hab (main base spawn will always fill your kit what ever it is). Knowing that, people should really think what we as a squad need before they make their first spawn - especially if your squad is playing on rallypoints far away from HABS/Main. I would recommend to favor rifleman kit on first spawn if squad is fighting on rallys so you can resupply their effort. Also very important part about that is that every time you change your kit on HAB you will drain ammo supply and in many cases it's a waste of supplies (especially if supply run distances are painfully long).

I don't think you can really teach someone how to be a good squad leader. Youve got to learn the game yourself to get to that stage. What I'd say is, always look at your map, Communicate, listen and stay alive.
Awesome intro, thanks! I used to play a lot of shooter games but I got tired of all the cheating. I like watching your videos, especially the armored ones more than I like actually playing. Can't thank you enough for showing me how much fun this game can get once you get the hang of the controls! thankfully I have like 2000 hours of Arma 3 so I know how to milsim so that part was easy. I quit R6 Siege for this. ;)
I started playing this game a couple months ago. Mostly stick to training because the only time I played on a team I was terrible at it. On one game I never saw one enemy and died 15-20 times. Not fair to my teammates so I have been practicing on the Jensen maps. I am also waiting to get on SOTT. Thanks Karmakut for this tutorial.
I haven't even bought squad yet and I've watched about 60 videos thus far just about Squad and gameplay. Even the training grounds looks hella fun. Thanks for the tut :)
That reload animation was by far the most realistic I’ve seen in a game. Everything down to canting the rifle to the side before removing the magazine was 100% accurate

Me as a new player: *gets killed and has no idea where it came from, spend 10 minutes looking for enemies as SL and other members are doing their thing*
3000 hrs. Thats impressive & so is this guide. Ive owned squad for over a year (same with post scriptum) & ive done the tutorial a couple of times but still was lacking the info. Ive been playing hll before release but felt lost during the only time ive been in game. Arma 3 kinda freaked me the hell out when I felt i needed 3 keyboards just to set the key bindings up. Squad isn't quite so over bearing but its still a formidable game to learn. I now have your guidance & I know you know how to play the milsims, any milsim. Btw I finally jumped into an easy server last night in PS and it was very different than hll. I now realize how critical getting your audio volumes just right. I could only make out 10% of call outs and orders in PS because the game sounds was too high to the different voip channels volumes. Im looking forward to learning more & jumping in a game soon.
Remember if your spawning on the rally to tell your sl when it gets low and always leave them the last spawn. It makes a huge difference to how long it takes to get back into the fight and if you're going to loose a position.
[MY Personal Experience as A Casual SQUADIE] I have over 100 Hours on squad and still find it a Very hard game to find enjoyment. Most of the time I just get slaughtered by experienced players to the point of rage quitting. I have over 3k Hours in Escape from Tarkov, but Squad gives me that more tactical drive. Just sucks most 'Experienced' players stack lobbies. The you get the 'Locked' squads, sit there for 30+min waiting for someone to Open up a Squad. I must say, Hell let Loose has been A far more positive Experience, It makes me want to Enjoy Squad, but I just can't in the current 'Meta'
Just played my first 3 matches of squad. My first match went great. Got picked up by a friendly apc and was the gunner. Got like 10 kills and blew up an enemy truck.
Thanks man. I've watched a few vids but I just picked up the game. I know, I know a little late but I've been into other games. This is a great kickstarter.
Squad is honestly one of the best games I've ever played. Just wait till you're in the middle of an enemy artillery strike. It's SO FUCKING INTENSE and you will literally smile the entire time.
Thanks for posting this!!! I plan on getting the game mainly because of your videos (as if you haven't heard/seen that before). Love these types of games and since War Thunder I've just been hooked on all games with this type of play. Looking forward to other "tutorials". Peace and hair grease!

I had this game in 2017. Got fed up with the toxic community and being left to fend for myself. Quit the game until July 2020. Picked it back up after seeing some of your awesome videos, Karma! Can't thank you enough for showing me how much fun this game can get once you get the hang of the controls!
thankfully I have like 2000 hours of Arma 3 so I know how to milsim so that part was easy.
I quit R6 Siege for this. ;)
I love this ideea, I want to start playing Squad and I am quite noob, so thank you, BTW your videos are great.
Thanks...I deeply required a video guide like these....keep up the good work
I haven't even bought squad yet and I've watched about 60 videos thus far just about Squad and gameplay. Even the training grounds looks hella fun. Thanks for the tut :)
Thanks for the tips karma
Lol Karmakut got fed up with noobs
I think we all are. It's cancer rn
I have to salute him, this by far the best example on how to deal with noobs.
A noob is playmate who doesn't yet know all the ins and outs.
@@nico-lasty The cancer is players with the "elite" superiority complex, and this applies to every video game.
@@rh4009 this shit happens in every damn game. how stupid can you be to be asshats to new players, which will keep your game relevant and alive...
@@mainaimable that's exactly what he didnt say though?
That reload animation was by far the most realistic I’ve seen in a game. Everything down to canting the rifle to the side before removing the magazine was 100% accurate
God damn, that is one super comprehensive training range. That's like every single shooter tutorial area that I've ever seen.
I love this game and I’ve never played it. I just keep watching your videos knowing one day I’m finally gonna have enough saved up to buy my first setup. Great video.
Great Training Video. Thank you
Very helpful video. Especially the part with the admin commands to checkout and learn maps without even playing an online match.
Buying this game tonight. Had a blast with he’ll let loose, so I think I’ll enjoy squad too. But man oh man there is a lot to learn
You have piqued my interest! I’m a new subscriber, currently building my gaming computer . After discovering your channel I will definitely be looking forward to learning this awesome game and possibly playing or learning from you guys. I’m an old USMC vet who would love to try my hand at this. Thanks for the information sir. 😊
Do it! I think this might be a game for you. I got it yesterday and I love it so far 😊👍
Just try bro, it will help with mental health if that's is the case for you. Most respect for man.
You are the best, Karma! Great job launching these guide series
Only thing the in game tutorial taught me was I can not fly a chopper.
tryig squad out for the first time this weekend free weekend pass so watcching these videos to get a head start good info and vid
Thanks for taking the time to do this video! I picked up the game earlier today and hopped into the tutorial and ran it twice. (Defiantly agree on that tip.. even the second run through helped.) Really excited to get into my first game, but first...onto part 2 :)
Flipped lean is something I used playing R6 Siege ages ago, interesting to see someone else had the same idea.
Thank you very much, your video is very good for some one like me that has not played before. there is so much out there in the Squad world that I would not have been able to use and interact with if it wasn't for this video. Thank you Karmakut
What a coincidence... I started playing today and you post this... Haha.
My game is almost done installing, I’m so fricking pumped
Squad, brought to you by the makers of running simulator and long wait times for populated servers
Having a bad time? lol
It really is a walking simulator
YOURE GONNA WALK EVERYWHERE AND YOURE GONNA LIKE IT!!!
Good on ya sir. Thank you for putting forth the effort to do this guide. Can only better the playerbase and in turn the game as a whole. +1 from me.
Coming back once more to Squad, thanks for these! Cheers.
thank you I needed this I bought the game I never thought I could ever understand it
I don't even have a PC, only PS4, but it is so much fun watching this game (you playing the game) and I wish there was anything like it for console. Keep it up, great videos!
You could get one for a bit more than the price of a new console if you're willing to put one together, do some research and pick up second hand parts
Good timing, Karmakut! I just got Squad and a new video card to match. Great job.
Just discovered your channel and videos a couple of days ago. I dont have the game as of yet but plan on getting it soon. So gonna keep watching this series and your other videos until then. Thanks for the content and tips. Keep up the good work and great content!
Me as a new player: *gets killed and has no idea where it came from, spend 10 minutes looking for enemies as SL and other members are doing their thing*
Awesome Part 1. Can't wait for the rest now. Thank you for taking the time out and making these for us grants
Karma and drewskie made me interested in squad. I bought it 2 months ago and have logged sooooo many hours already.
Im looking forward to learning more & jumping in a game soon.
this was really helpful. i just bought squad during the recent steam sale.
Bro, I legit just got squad ❤️
That's actually really nice of the devs to allow you to do range stuff and looks at maps.
15mins in i paused the installation and took a deeeeeeep breath. Is this really for me? FUCKKKKK YEAHHH it iisss. excited
Remember if your spawning on the rally to tell your sl when it gets low and always leave them the last spawn. It makes a huge difference to how long it takes to get back into the fight and if you're going to loose a position.
really helpful stuff, especially the admin tricks in the range and maps
I've been studying more police than military so my main objective now is to learn all the different call-outs and terminology that y'all use in-game.
Getting my first gaming PC in a few weeks just because I’ve wanted to play mil sim for long!
Awesome video! Lots of great info I havent seen in other tutorials. Great job man, subscribed.
Really an excellent video, several new things for me.
thanks it will help all of us !
I came back for more of a refresher course, I've been an SL for about 7 months now
Just played my first 3 matches of squad. My first match went great. Got picked up by a friendly apc and was the gunner. Got like 10 kills and blew up an enemy truck.
Thanks man. I've watched a few vids but I just picked up the game. I know, I know a little late but I've been into other games. This is a great kickstarter.
I might buy this game if you continue these videos. I enjoy watching your squad videos daily!
Will be buying next week, will use your link, you have earned it, Thank You
Great idea. Looking forward to your totorial series :-)
Thanks for this it helped alot
So what you're telling me is that everybody is essentially going full drill instructor on my ass when I play this game... Sweeeet.
Squad is honestly one of the best games I've ever played. Just wait till you're in the middle of an enemy artillery strike. It's SO FUCKING INTENSE and you will literally smile the entire time.
Essential Data, well done Karma
Looks like the menus have changed since this video was made. Is there a more recent version? Just getting started here. Appreciating this guide.
Just picked up Squad from your store big man!
I just purchased Squad.
Thanks for posting this!!! I plan on getting the game mainly because of your videos (as if you haven't heard/seen that before). Love these types of games and since War Thunder I've just been hooked on all games with this type of play. Looking forward to other "tutorials".
Peace and hair grease!
Thank you. I really needed this.
Finally! Thanks!!!
This is absolutely fantastic so much help very much appreciated
