While trying to follow this guide, I _accidentally_ found a ridiculously well-hidden warp in the room at 13:40 (padding this out in case anyone wants to discover it on their own) By jumping on the spider, pounding it, and reversing direction just before the bounce, you can land on top of the level and there's another warp in the top-left corner! I haven't felt this ecstatic about video game secrets in ages!!
Yeah was really fun exploring this world but some of the secrets are so well hidden! Definitely my favourite game I've played in the collection so far.
very impressive, I could play this game for 50 hours and not figure it out. I got the puprle egg thinking the way you bounce after slamming something is random... you can imagine that didn't make the boss easy
For a while I also thought the way you bounced was random, glad I wasn't the only one! The tricky bit in finding the secrets was figuring out how to know where a secret is and how to open it. I spent like an hour messing with the green heads trying to figure out how to get them reliably before figuring out going over backwards gets it most of the time. Also purple boss is hardest boss I swear (although that's probably just because I was more familiar with the controls by the time I reached the other bosses).
i struggled on the wizard room my first ever mooncat run, then on the second go with this video i destroyed it in seconds mooncat's controls and flow is something else
Honestly, I don't know. Don't know if it's a troll by the game or whether there's something that changes from going back through. Don't really know why I didn't mention it in the video tbh, guess I wanted to troll a bit myself. Maybe I brought it up since there are definitely other warps I didn't show that take you to different levels and what not. Just nothing from that one in particular, not that I could figure out at least.
When you teleport back to that cave room, to me it looks like something is supposed to appear there if you do something in the level. I couldn't get anything to happen though. I tried a lot of things like killing every enemy and touching every purple spot. It's the easiest warp to accidentally find so maybe it's there to gently let the player know warps exist without ruining the discovery. There's no reward for finding it because clues are the reward.
Am I misunderstanding something when you refer to the first egg as "the purple egg"? It's definitely green to me, to a point where it's unmistakeably so. Is there colorblindness on your end or mine? I'm just baffled and kinda questioning myself haha
What happens if you go to the secret paths but don't find their secret paths and just follow them to the end normally? Does it put you back on track to the purple egg?
Yeah it just sends you to the normal ending. At first I got really excited after finding my first secret since I thought that meant the final boss would change, but then found out that more was needed!
I tried using controller but the muscle memory triggered for me more with the controller than with the keyboard so I personally had a harder time with that. Granted I didn't give it a lot of time before going back to keyboard.

That one was pretty obvious. You can go above the level in the first cave area aswell but there is nothing there for some reason.
That's so interesting, where does it lead?
I'm glad this video exists bc i found all 3 eggs but accidentally closed the red egg screen before i could read it lmao
update: oh okay that was weird lmao
Nice job, I found the green egg, but couldn't find red for the life of me!

Finding those secrets is brutal. Good job !

@@BubbleCerberus I got the cherry, and yeah the purple boss was the hardest by far for me too
1:43 i think they're supposed to just be eggs, since the blocks they create have an egg shape on them. but i do see the 🗿 as well
Yeah you're probably right, maybe I'm just seeing what I want to see🗿

is there some hidden secret with that one flower teleport you didn't show? I tried doing it and ended up warping back to the start of the stage lol

i feel like the flower might by there for the teleport that sends you back to the start as a troll

Is there a way to get past that first chasm, just after spawning? It seems so tempting
You can jump middair after a slide off a ledge.

Oh, super helpful guide btw! Probably wouldn't have figured these out without a guide aha
If it's on my end then this is the first I'm hearing of it, I'll have to look into that!
I saw a Twitch streamer, Northern Lion, play mooncat, and his egg was green.
@@ana.alliterative Northernlion is the best! At least for me the egg looked the same in both videos

On controller its a bit easier to control, i just use left d-pad and the circle button to move.

did you rebind controls? first thing i did for mooncat, or is that cheating lol
For me learning the controls was part of the charm, but definitely can't blame you for rebinding them!
you... you did what?! you're supposed to BECOME mooncat, you monster
