This is where all the stuff goes that doesn't have a place anywhere else.
UFO 50 Grimstone Cherry Guide
This video is more a guide for the game itself than the cherry, since the cherry requirement is not bad at all.
I dread to think how long this video would be if I left the combat in!
Please share any additional info or tips in the comments.

Definitely one of the most frustrating games I've tried so far. Found it difficult to give tips, particularly on wave 3 since it feels so much like just a hope and a prayer to get through it. Although the enemies and their locations are consistent it still felt painful to learn just due to the sheer amount going on, which I'm aware is the point. And even then in wave 3 it's just an absolute nig...

RUN STARTS AT 2:50 An absolute mammoth of a video. Loved this game honestly one of my favourites I've tried so far, If I knew what I was getting into I probably wouldn't have picked it yet though! Sorry for the long wait between uploads but hopefully now you understand (tbh it was more life stuff than the game itself). Wanted to show most of the run since this way you see the routes I take, the...

Once again showing the uncut run for my paint chase cherry. It's definitely plausible to get multiple 100%s on stages if you take the time to plan your route based on the enemy spawns. I got absolutely OWNED by Bushido Ball when trying to cherry it. Beat it only once, with Ayumi, using one continue because I got Yamada on the last match.
You can also cherry this game in two player! Me and a friend did it by accident. To cherry in two player, you just have to win two duos matches without a continue. We went with yamada and tomoe.
0:01 second of the video - the thing I was looking for Thanks!
Would love to see one of these guides for Rock On! Island
I'll add it to the list!
Thanks for the tips and tricks. I'm currently trying to Cherry this and it is slightly maddening with how disciplined your play has to be. I do think I have one helpful thing I can add however- you can use the super punch move by holding the punch button to launch all 3 fish at once into the octopus consistently and easily. Made that boss and stage much easier than 3 for me!
would you do one for bug hunter?
I'll add it to the list!
These are the best to fall asleep to. Thanks for these long ones.
You're welcome!
Mooncat cherry: "Ah yes. I've beaten you once, and I can look up how to beat you even better" Onion Delivery: "Basically you get lucky at this one random event, or you go mad trying"
Your videos are really in-depth and you’re the only one doing these kinds of guides right now. thank you!
You're welcome! Glad you like them!
huge fan of those vids
You can practice the map by experiencing ROAD-RAGE.
Maybe you know this by now, but traffic never spawns if you're in your legal right-hand "lane". So never travel in the left lane.
I was so pissed when i bought the horse and realized it was 1 use only

You're welcome! Will probably do a couple other games before Divers but I will get to that eventually as well.
I was wondering if you were going to cover this one, since you've leaned mainly towards the more arcade-y titles so far.
Yeah really enjoyed this one. To start with I was picking games at random, and now I've been prioritising requests or ones I've seen mentioned in the comments. Plan is eventually to cover all of them but obviously I'm only 1/5 through so will take a while.
My favorite game in the collection. Will add more comments after watching whole 2 hour video, but for now. - Umbra is probably most OP character for the cherry, simply because you can just make sure she learns buffing/debuffing skills and on final fight making sure your team is all safe and sound. Rufus also becomes a phenomenal tank during late game to have in the first slot due to unlimited dog treats. - I also recommend the steam guide made by Llamakazi as a secondary help for cherrying alongside this video.
Yeah I had a blast with this one. I only played with Umbra a little bit but I can definitely see the value. I enjoy Rufus as well but as you'll see in my run I don't have much patience with farming for the dog treats. Between the potential to get max health, crazy stats and the survival passive I can see what you mean them being an excellent tank. I'll definitely be coming back to this one eventually to try out the characters I didn't try properly. Just had a quick look at the guide you suggested, what an excellent source! Makes me feel sort of inadequate, it's so brilliantly done. Part of me wishes I knew about it going in but I like learning everything myself gradually, especially since I'm making videos and wouldn't want to use other peoples hard work for my own. Definitely fun to read through after the fact though. I can already see that their guide is a lot more thorough than my video in a lot of ways so I definitely agree that people should use it as an additional source. I look forward to reading any further comments from you with any other information. thanks again for sharing!
Small tip: if you need to make a small precise maneuver you can press both A and B while standing still to go slow
I went with a totally different strategy with the cherry. I chose to get the Red Star Sword as early as possible (Floor 3) and focus on more of a CON/WIS build. A fully charged Red Star Sword swing is unblockable so combat was really just either doing a walk-in counterhit or purposefully letting my attack get blocked and then using fully charged strikes. The sword takes less time to charge than an enemy takes to recover and retaliate or get out of the way so you can stunlock an enemy as long as you have stamina. Move away afterwards since most enemies won't attack unless they're directly in front of you. The hard part really is getting your hands on a Dragon Shield to ensure a final boss kill.
> Why is the water green? I'm pretty sure that's not water, that's alien sludge. Which is why the rain looks different.
The best advice: 1. always stay below enemies, 2. use all the moves but only for crowd control and not for higher damage, 3. keep hitting enemies on the ground.
Look out Kotaro's got a gun! Lol (I know it is the sword sheath in the thumbnail art).
Is there a way to get past that first chasm, just after spawning? It seems so tempting
Valbrace is starting to seriously piss me off. I have tried floor 2 three times now, and I have died after 20-30 minutes every time. Made it to the boss once and died there because my shield broke. The floors are WAY too long, at least for so early in the game. Also, PLEASE give us more inventory space.
great video
Just finished my cherry, mostly thanks to your video, some notes. Werewolves are weak to tight corridors. The best place to take them is near the instant death ledges, if they try to jump across them, they instantly die. At 21:41 You can skip the last two enemies. Clearing the screen without triggering the chandelier causes the elevator to open, and you can run in without fighting the big guy and the mask guy. For the final boss, the first phase is the only one you have to worry about, if you can survive long enough just killing enemies in phase 2, about 6 dogs will come in and help you and this will make things very easy for you. I don't know what the trigger is, as I don't see this happening in your video. You can check my run that I uploaded where you can see this happening and the other things I mentioned.
I’ve been pretty good about not looking up guides or maps for most of UFO 50, but this one just broke me. Learning all the maps by memory would take 50 hours. Thank you for the guide, this effort is beyond me
Thanks! Was definitely time consuming exploring but thankfully I was enjoying this game enough where it didn't particularly bother me. Also helps I didn't map them out completely just the parts that I thought necessary. I still do get slightly lost at points even in the video, but that's probably more due to my personal notes being very messy than anything else.
I love shmups. I've heard Star Waspir is rather punishing in both scoring and survival, but given a full clear is less than 15 minutes, I think that's fine. I'm only slightly concerned about the RNG of those asteroids, but I otherwise think I'll have a lot of fun with this one. There's another shmup with a really cool gimmick in UFO 50, iirc. I look forward to when you do that too. Oh, you're scared of moths? Heheh. I used to be scared of spiders, but I eventually overcame it by studying them, as well as, I suppose it would be exposure therapy. I was in my early teens at the time, mind you. Moths are mostly really beautiful and sometimes very cute. I don't think it would take too much to start appreciating them. Anyway, you do you. I just feel strongly about both phobias and moths.
Yeah as an introduction to shmups Star Waspir was definitely a challenge. I'd say the asteroids were definitely the most frustrating part but often the random parts always are. Good luck when you do start going for it! And yeah when I was a kid I had a bad experience with a moth. I'm often the one in my house to deal with any unwanted crawlies, and I'll always try to save them, unless they're moths. I let someone else deal with them. For better or worse moths aren't the most common thing so I haven't really had to face my fear much, still is probably a good idea to face it if I can ever build up the courage.
@@BubbleCerberus Thanks. I think randomness can be great, to test your on the fly thinking and reflexes, but it can easily be frustrating if not carefully controlled. I'll see how the space rocks pan out. You know what else helped me get over some fears of animals? Monster girl designs. Hahaha! That's part of the reason I love moths - the association with some very charming, beautiful and generally likeable characters.
great guide, didn't watch past wave 3 for spoilers but wow wave 3 is stupid hard (that's from someone with 25 cherries and 30ish golds.)
46 cherries, Star Waspir is probably the game that feels the hardest.
I really think the red ship is easier to win with for most people. - Bombs are incredible for wave 3 bosses. Just throw them out as the bosses spawn, then replenish them during the lines of enemies. - A multi over 25 is unnecessary if you survive most of wave 3. Therefore you can focus on collecting EEE in wave 2. - The spread shot is worse than yellow, but GEE's ufo is actually really strong and makes up for it. It takes out enemies quickly and also soaks enemy shots. I trigger it as able in wave 3 and it really helps keep up with the red spawns. If it comes in on the correct side, it will solo a boss. - Red's options are very strong because you don't have to aim, just focus on dodging and as long as they're alive they'll clean up enemies
The red ships drones shoot homing missiles.
Worth noting that on wave 4 you can actually break the wall in individual grey sections if you just commit to focusing your fire on it, you don't have to go for the weak point every time. Helpful if you want to pick up letters that are falling far away from the weak point
Good info! Yeah I thought it would be a bit difficult to pick up the letters in this section but that makes a lot of sense. Not something I ever tried since most attempts didn't make it that far!
You're right about the last two stages being much easier than the 3rd. I've only played stage 4 three times myself
This game is sweaty as hell
Very well done! I got the Star Waspir cherry a few days ago, and that wave 3 is utterly ridiculous. My strategy was to use the yellow wasp and to spam EEE as much as I could, to kill the red enemies as efficiently as possible to reduce how much they were overwhelming me with bullets. By the way, in shoot-'em-up nomenclature, the "drone buddies" are generally called 'options'. It's an unusual-sounding term, but it comes from old Japanese arcade games, so y'know. For your next cherry guide, I would absolutely love to see Cyber Owls. I'm having trouble with this one as it's a relatively long game that demands a no-death run.
Thanks for the info! Always interesting to learn the genre specific vocab especially since I'm not versed in this type of game. Next game I'll cover is a long one (not gonna spoil exactly which one) but cyber owls is on the list and I'll get to it as soon as I can. Thanks for the suggestion!
Which parts are giving you trouble? I just managed it the other day so it's still fresh
@@OneHandDan Mostly the missile boss in the sky with Huxley. I literally have no idea how to avoid death there. This is the biggest roadblock for me cherrying this game at the moment. I also struggle in general with Octavio's stages because it feels too easy to take stray hits, you don't get a heal before the bosses, and his bosses have way too many HP imo (though I know this is mostly just a skill issue). I know about the hidden dim sum in the breakable wall before the elevator in the Chicago stage, though I don't know if there are any hidden heals in his Antarctica level. I also need to practice Guin's final boss in Antarctica too because I don't actually know how to consistently make it vulnerable, especially before Octavio arrives in the room. There just isn't much opportunity to practice a single fight with unique rules that's at the very end of the game like this.
@@EarthboundBenjy -To avoid the missile boss's projectiles, I would stay close to the left corner of the screen and then move right as the last projectile fired vertically. -Octavio is rough, especially his last boss. I tend to use the charge attack (especially on the last stage on the snowmobiles) or low sweeps on enemies. For the last boss I stand under a platform to avoid the explosions and wait for him to charge to the center of the stage, hit him a few times, and repeat. -For Guin's last boss, after he jumps, run to the other corner and he might lose you. He'll wander and you can sleeping dart him in the back. Shoot him with a gun 9 (I think 9) times (more darts/bullets will spawn in his jumps) and then Octavio comes to save the day
@@OneHandDan Thanks for the tips, I'll try again soon.
I got all 50 Cherries awhile ago and this might've actually be the hardest one for me, even as someone that's very experienced in schmups LOL. I feel like a big part of why stage 3 is so chaotic is that the meteors really blend in with the background, plus nearly every enemy on that stage being bright red/green really makes you get a bit of tunnel vision.
That makes me feel slightly more optimistic about the rest of the games, this one was a journey for sure. I definitely had way too many deaths to the meteors just because I didn't see them like you say.
"Got all 50 cherries" Unemployed or just autistic?
I was absolutely in the "completely discouraged and about ready to give up on the game entirely" boat, but something kept pulling me back in to throw in another 20-30 minutes of attempts every now and then. It took me 8 hours to get this, and I'm speaking as someone who actually semi-frequently enjoys playing SHMUPS. I'm not amazing at them, but I wouldn't say I'm terrible at them, either. The encouragement in your video is so true - the real struggle in this game is wave 3. If you can just manage to push past that, the rest is so much nicer.
Yeah as someone new to the genre this was really discouraging, but I'm glad I persisted with it. Wave 3 is going to traumatise me for a while I think.
Raizo’s secondary attack is OP. It reflects everything with ease and stuffs out serves. I got my cherry with him and never bothered using his trash super
Glad I'm not the only one that appreciates Raizo. Definitely has their weak points but as you say the secondary is very powerful.
Who the heck is having their onions delivered to the middle of a field?
somehow i got the red coin im my first playthrough without ever getting the zweihander?
Any clue how you got it? could be multiple ways to get the red coin, just that the zweihander is the way I found.
@@BubbleCerberusI can't remember, I just gave the knight all the items I had and he ended up giving it to me. On the statistics tab for valbrace it says I have 3/4 secrets, presumably the zweihander, throwing the coin in the fountain, and the star sword count as secrets, so maybe I got a secret item that I gave to him which I didn't realise was a secret?
Interesting. Maybe if you give the red knight enough items he gives you the red coin anyway, or it's just a very low chance or something. Hard to tell but good to know that it's possible to obtain it without the zweihander.
The storm is 100% the hardest event. I made a point to just exit it ASAP, even if I had 70+ seconds left to do more deliveries. Because sometimes it will just eat all your continues and there's nothing you can do. Slime event is the second most annoying. Third is less clear, but it's distant from those two.
Definitely agree with you there, those 2 completely outclass the other events in terms of difficulty.
I had 50 and died about 20 feet away from the turn-in (timed out on rain day 7, my dead car went over the blue marker). I got it like three attempts later. I was down to 1 life on day 4 and still got it. On my own channel I uploaded my winning attempt and had the game's most brutal death in my opinion. I hit a car, fell off the side, and when I spawned back in, I backed up a bit and a car drove into me; I still was able to pull it back and win though.
Oof I can't even imagine the pain of failing there, fair play for sticking with it. Yeah this game has loads of brutal deaths but that one does sound very frustrating. Kinda cool you succeeded in spite of that though!
Nice! Thanks for this!
ty that 3rd stage is brutal
The reason I hated this game was me accidentally doing the spin attack and killing myself. A total mood killer. Take my to House party, man.
If you die, does it keep you at the same floor you were at?
You stay at the same floor but lose all your essence that you were carrying, as well as anything else you had picked up on the floor
@@raflcoopter so it is possible to cherry it even if you die?
@raflcoopter I cant make progress past floor 3. (Havent looked at guides. Im trying to organically learn the game. I have even been drawing the spells by hand lmao)
@@RobotnikPlngas yup! As long as you go the cherry item required for it and leave the floor with it you’re good
Love that, I was doing a similar thing making notes and everything, was a lot of fun learning this game. Raflcoopter's got you covered on your questions too, they're exactly right!
Concerning the "Chunk" course (4:32), if you slam the ball on the slope that's part of the green-colored block, you can get a hole in one. It's the easiest hole in one in the game imo.
