For a gaming experience, yes, play something else.. for hardcore insanity mode play those professions but!!! As time matches on the difficulty will be lower than easy. Sharp mind makes sharper blade.
What did you end up with? In the core game thief isn't really that hard, it has a pretty low entry level though as you get better maybe the highest ceiling. You just need to know when to disengage, and you have a ton of tools for that. As a thief you can run and you can hide lul. I'd recommend Signet of Malice as the heal for new thieves, it heals for damage and heals for a lot in mobs (try pairing it with Caltrops and/or get the Dare Devil+staff spec and just 511111 511122). The main learned skill you need is the ability to kite.
I picked elementalist as my first class and actually enjoying it, but what worries me is that all I hear from people is that (support) ele has to put double the effort just to be *on par* with other classes like firebrand, so it kinda puts me down to think that even when I'm having fun now, I'm essentially only wasting my time on the long run?
So that's a misconception! The elementalist is without a doubt one of the most fun professions to play and if pulled off correctly is the most rewarding! Yes it typically has to press more buttons and move more to accomplish the same goal but it certainly is NOT a waste of time as class to play!
@@CaffeinatedDad thing is that as a new player I can't really tell when people are being serious or just joking on the meme. If it's about difficulty it's one thing, but when a class is treated as "inherently weaker" than others it just feels...discouraging.
People say that cause when ele is spec'd towards a dps build it is usually the definitive "glass cannon" of gw2,you're playing on a light armor class with low defense and a really shallow health pool. What separates ele from the other light Armour specs is that comparatively on top of already being squishy it also gives next to 0 boons while acting as pure dps. Whereas in the game boon wars 2 having the ability to support the team with any boon(there are specific boons that are highly wanted in generally every group eg. Alacrity, quickness, alac which ele can provide with specific builds)is generally very welcome and sought after cause boons=power. Although having kinda badmouthed it when the stars do align you will be the baddest mf in every gamemode you play, wvw, raids, fractals, strikes and everything else. People don't like ele cause it doesn't work put well in a public group setting where your groups can't always give you what u need to pop off,it's a very needy class for sure ,or just play heals ele and u will be fine :D
@@kou7191 okay well it doesn’t do as much damage as some specs that have not even half as many buttons so just take that as you will. Granted, in gw2 it really just does not matter at all lol
Nice video. I like your style and find your profession overviews informative :). I mained a thief for a long while but heart of thorns I kept dieing all the time lol. Switched to revenant for a while and then Mesmer. I agree on mesmer feeling pretty unique and I loved playing condi builds with one in pve, felt pretty strong

@@CaffeinatedDad Ive been playing a bit recently. Axe+torch mirage is such a fun combo. I'll need to pick up the expac and checkout virtuoso, just grinding out the skyscale currently. And you're welcome, keep up the good stuff
actually dual dagger bleed daredevil can dps hard bosses and infinite mobs with 100% sustain (never retreat / kite). Aaand in wvw I'm currently running a celestial version of that nobody else plays but is actually also very strong in small skirmishes / roaming small or solo. (especially in revealed areas where your stealth is useless anyway). For PVE one of the hardest classes to keep alive is actually warrior. Although having a ton of healing; it's actually rather squishy because it's mostly full zerk melee (it's ranged dps is bad) and blocks / dodges need to be timed well.
You can go with tankier warrior builds or even support builds that will make it much easier to play pve warrior. I used to play full zerker, but then swapped to a zerk/knight mix, simply because that allowed me to facetank so much more. For open world PvE you're never really too pressed on damage, and in fact my actual DPS didn't go down as much as it mathematically should because the DPS uptime increased with not needing to dodge / disengage as often.
@@figa5567 true.. but still warrior is one of the hardest classes to keep alive. I'm running solo all builds on all classes while still maintaining best possible dps, and warrior is the most squishy of them all. It can facetank hard bosses, just other classes are stronger, all of them with more dps

My main has been thief for like 10 years and I do remember some small difficulties in the core game or HoT but most of those things were possible to cheese with stealth stuff 😆 However I did always feel it was one of the most brainless classes in PvE, (especially d/d thief or staff daredevil) But maybe the basic GW2 gameplay is just too easy so any class feels simple if you don't minmax everything
I suppose I speak from my experience in heart of thorns because I got trashcanned there with my Daredevil and man it was rough. played incorrectly thief is worst downstate than even elementalist!
@@CaffeinatedDad Oh yeah, I guess I also assumed HoT is almost equally rough with any class back when i played. Perhaps I was also somewhat lucky to play it on release with a good amount of people helping each other with a lot of things 😄
I do not possess "mechanical" prowess or good coordination to pull off longer combos and such. At the same time, it's THESE classes that will keep me occupied, interested and invested in the game. Simply because I have a such a long road ahead to "git gud".
Idk anymore I guess for me I just love playing the hard classes in new games cause for me if it's to easy I'll get bored fast and I'd quit. That's why I try to see which classes have the most challenging specs and difficulty of mastering cause I like to torture myself but also to keep the class engaging.
@@CaffeinatedDad Exactly, right now after getting bored with guardian I decided to just go for it in lvling a elementalist and boy it's fun, engaging, and difficult which is what I'm looking for, so many times I had to clench the cheeks cause I pulled atleast 10 mobs at once lol
energy management is equally or perhaps slightly more complex that initiative management on thief IMO, while being very forgiving and being able to face tank a lot of stuff, you can pretty much mash everything on revenant and be successful, heck you can just toggle impossible odds on and off while auto-attacking and do very respectable damage.
I would put slightly above the thief as far as difficulty goes because yes the energy management but you also have to deal with CDs. At least thief can spam whatever attack they want provided they have the initiative for it and their utility and elite dont consume initiative.
SIR i have a question i am a thief player my parents won't allow me to put money in game and guild wars is my first mmo game so is it possible to get the shiny Armour and weapon for free for a newub like me in gw2
High damage reward on thief 😂, most classes in the game output more damage for way less sacrifice and effort. Thief’s been nerfed to death but yeah it’s kinda fun…100% would recommend if you like to work 10x harder than other classes for less.
Playing core condi thief, so I can mIx deadly arts, shadow arts and trickery for a good mix of condi pressure, condi removal and sustain. I tried a Daredevil variant, but I didn't need the extra dodge and I don't like the fact I'm loosing range on my steal.
While illusions aren't seen often in (mmo)rpgs, I do think, that the Revenant is more unique. Invoking spirits and taking on their abilities is really awesome. I often compare it to a Warlock from DnD, who can swap their patrons 😁
These plus engi are my fave proff. I cannot wait to be sword/dagger Tempest. And hammer Weaver. Plus the access to pistol for first patch after expac release. Also super excited to see Mesmer get rifle. Some theorize it'll be a support/heal weapon, but I dont want that and dont think it will be. Scepter is defensive mid range. Greatsword is mid to far range burst. Staff is aoe/utility range mid to far. Rifle could be a torment/confusion condi mid to far range weapon. Or sustained damage, less bursty compared to Greatsword. Though I am most excited for elite weapons on ele, as it was kinda the thing prefenting me from playing ele. I also want to try sword dagger catalyst, or hammer tempest. For mesmer, dagger/shield or pistol sounds cool. Or axe and shield chrono.
As someone who has played thousands of hours of both thief and mesmer, I would like to say that mesmer is harder than thief(although both are still hard). In pvp, they're even(unless you're counting virtuoso or staff mirage, those are much easier), but in endgame content like raids, fractals, strikes, etc, the mesmer dps rotations are harder to master(aside from virtuoso. All mesmer mains hate virtuoso with a burning passion btw xD). With chrono, the continuum split is very easy to mess up and if you do its a big blow to your rotation, also the clone management is very hard to keep track of. Just making one mistake in your rotation effects your damage and/or boons significantly so there isn't much room for error. Condition mirage is slightly harder too, as on top of clones and shatters to keep track of, you now also have to keep track of when to use your dodges. Now you have to get your clones up, only use your dodges for when you have a lot of clones, and also work it into your shatter cooldown. It's even easier to make mistakes on this class, and the difference between a good player and a bad player with the same gear can be as big as a 30k difference(I literally saw that once)
"Mesmer is easy to play" True, it's easy to learn and play but it's also hard to master. I agree that it's all about confusing your enemies and using the right shatter combo. Your jobs are to steal points, cc support and assassinating distracted enemies. Don't button mash if you wanna live longer
nice vid!,i just descovered someting after a month of playing gw2,maining catalyst,of all 9 classes only elementalist and guardian do not have BOON REMOVING skills, the only way is sigil of absorption, you need to have hearth of thorns and itzel mastery,or get 60 levels in WvW to unlock the vendors, poison is very strong as it scales intensity but a pure power build can still use the 33% reduced healing effect, again poison is rare, only classes that have it built in are ranger, thief, necro, but others can have it just not as easy or effective(catalyst can use grand finale trough an earth spehere for a poison combo but it only lasts 2 seconds),so sigil of doom is the best option as it gives 8 seconds of poison from any atack and has a 9 second ICD,slow is maybe the strongest condition but only elite specs get acces to it,the only core spec with slow is mirage, and elementalist is the only class to not have acces to slow no matter what, having a trait or skill that spams weakness on the enemy and stealing boons is stronger than using actual defencive cooldowns or even defencive boons imo, scourge can have 3 weapons skills that remove boons,3 utility skills that remove boons and an elite skill that removes boons at the same time, but then you dont have hard cc,i think i finaly understand how classes are balanced in pvp, some are great at stalling a 1v1,some will quickly finish a 1v1 and then you have specs that only realy work in teams, healers, alac or quickness supports,or any support dps that cant hold their own 1v1 but will be super effective if just one extra person is supporting, there is no trinity, ranged vs melle doesnt matter, its just an equation of boons and conditions plus unique mechanics,so necro shoud, mesmer clones and distortion, reaper elite skill and conjured frost bow freeze(non stun breakable CC),tempest elite skill that negates death for whole party, guardian elite mass ress and so on. if every meta class has all boons and condi cleanse, and every group in pvp has one person minimim to remove boons, the only thing that makes the meta is these unique mechanics
@@Psykeded nah im bad at games so i learn them first its like ocd,i may be wrong on some of the info but feel free to correct it i will learn better becouse of it,like i WAS wrong about guardian not having boon removing skills, tehnicly a dragon hunter can create a light combo field and use a projectile finisher for a combo, that combo will remove 1 boon from enemy
I love the idea of an assassin class but... I dont like condi. And while power dd deadeye seems ok-ish for raids (as I saw from other people not played raids ar all)I am unsure people will accept that in fractals.

Engineer is second hardest profession in general to play after Elementalist. But hey, this is just my opinion. And fully based on PvE content. I have so far only played 24/27 classes in GW2 ^^ Missing DragonHunter, Willbender and Catalyst. Also here is how I rank them form hardest to easiest: 1)Elementalist 2)Egnineer 3)Mesmer 4)Revenant 5)Thief 6)Guardian 7)Ranger 8)Warrior 9)Necromancer Thief in PvE is no way harder to play than Engineer. Both have easy to play builds and hard to play builds, both also have range options but in my honest opinion having more F abilities with Weapon Kits and no escape tools makes Engineer way harder profession to play in all fronts beside having higher health. Getting used to initiative is way easier than weapon kits ^^ but that is my opinion. Yes Mechanist is 23450 spam to play with rocket turret for good dps. But Power Daredevil is Dodge 2 AA (Auto-Attack) with burst phase using assassin signet 👍 And Condi Daredevil is Dodge 3 AA while spamming utilities off cooldown and using F1 😂 Also Condi Specter is 333 spam with F1 2 5 4 2 F1, spam utilities off cooldown and when you can't F1 nor 3 you press Healing Skill for Stealth and 1 for extra bit of dps 😂 which can be ignored so you spam 333 with utilities and when you have no initiative you press F1 2 5 4 2 F1 which is one of the easiest builds to play. Only thing hard on thief is Deadeye because you must use Stealth to execute high dps ^^ which is way harder than other options here. Mean while deadeye builds both Condi and Power are easy to play compared to power Holosmith, power Scrapper and condi Mechanist which use 1 to 3 kits depending on the build. Rifle holosmith 2 kits while Sword Holosmith 1 kit but you have F5 Holoforge which adds 5 more skills 👍 so on Rifle Holosmith youhave 30 active skills ot be used 👍 but bonus is you don't have to worry about over heating unlike on Sword which depending who you ask is either easier or harder build to play 😂 and Condi Mehcnaist is using 3 kits Mortor, Grenade and Bomb kits 😱 at least you can set commands on Auto-Cast so no more F1 F2 F3 spam 😂 I can see why you would rate Mesmer higher than Engineer but Thief?!? THIEF?!? no seriously 🤤 please do open up your tough progress Why is Thief Harder to play than Engineer? Feel free to use any other argument beside Power Mechanist is easy to play 😼
@@oliverdevega Specter is even easier than Mechanist 🤣 Grenade kit is way harder to use than shroud and both classes just spam rest of the skills. Condi Virtuosa is also extremely easy to play and even better dps than either of these two 😅 Arguing Engineer is easy because one specific build means every thing is easy ^^ even Elementalist F1 overload spam 234567890 off cooldown condi tempest. Even Waver has easy build where you attune F1 F1 F4 spam sll but earth 5 ^^ This video becomes pointless if you say engineer is easy because pMechanist is easy to play 🤨 so because easy builds the hardestclass to play is actually Warrior? Requiring more skill on all 3 builds than Ele Engi and Mesmer?
lol I get to utilize all of these points for a video :D you are right in some regards but I'm looking at specifically the new player experience. engi is tough but forgiving for new players
@@CaffeinatedDad All professions have both easy and hard to play builds for all end game as well leveling 👍 We also have the knowledge how the classes work so we can say which is easiest and hardest but as you point out a new player knows nothing and thus some professions might be harder for new players 👍 Taking in to account that heavy professions are usually easier because they can take more beating 😅 Thus Thief is more vulnerable than Engineer and Revenant while they might be harder classes to play you are also more likely to survive on those builds where Thief can pop like a balloon more easily 😂 thus Elementalist is The King of The Downstate DPS But at the same time Thief being more killable does not mean it is harder profession 🤔 you can easily run pistol/pistol and range dps or dagger/dagger and backstab enemies down quickly. The survibility is more about what gear you have where while leveling you want to invest for some defensive stats and a lot for dps stats 👍 higher dps means you kill enemies faster and killing enemies faster makes you feel stronger... talking about my own experience running full healing gear on Thief thinking it is so weak stacking stealth to keep my self alive ... after looking up Pistol/Pistol range power dps going full berserker and just smelting enemies made the game that much more enjoyable 👍 While you do not need a build to level from 1 to 80 I highly recommend looking up Metabattle for leveling guides 😏 the difference can be that you kill an enemy in 15 seconds or 1 second 😂 oh that is my own testing I made meme build that was build to suck and it took 15 second to kill an enemy when I could kill two enemies in proper leveling build under 2 seconds 👍 second/enemy ... Now if you have to kill 20 enemies? that is 20seeconds vs 5min (300s) so do you want to kill enemies 5 minutes or 20seconds? 👍 that is the power of leveling build 😂 "The game feels sluggish and slow I don't like it " how about build? "I quit you are pushing builds on me reee I not like!" lose/lose ☹
The fact that revenant was not included just goes to show you that it is ,on a difficulty scale, the most difficult class to play. Why seemingly less and less difficult with time it is at an introduction level the hardest. The change of alotted energy from game mode to game mode alone is too much for the average player making classes such as the braindead mechanist an easy choice.
Oh I'm not saying that revenant is a cake walk, I am however saying that they have a certain level of survivability with higher armor than the choices seen here. Easier to survive when your beefy!
@@CaffeinatedDad very true. I am paper on elementalist but other players that are adequate at the class are some sort of super metal. Adamantine? Lolololol
Not gonna lie, mesmer is not as complicated as it may seem. You just mash buttons, and use F1 and F2 when you have 3 clones. Now where is the engineer? Having to switch between multiple kits, keeping their cooldowns in the head, and having 4 more utility skills to keep track of. Super squishy if not played perfectly, unlike mesmer where the clones tank everything 90% of the time.
Why wear armour when you can stay in your s the entire time? That being said, I am finding the condi virtu a bit more survivable than even Mirage. Something about having a couple of stuns attached to long block frames actually frees up the mental space required to mash the keyboard like korean starcraft pro.
I disagree a little bit. You are correct that staff/staff mirage has is more simple than other Mesmer builds however (especially for new players) you still have to be very aware of clone management and shatters as well as Mirage cloak which is a whole new mechanic from the dodge. However I love using this build for open world very survivable
@@owa1985 virtuoso is at an on time high with the new buff (distortion now!) it’s in a very good state right now. As a mirage main, I sometimes like switching to virtuoso when I don’t feel like managing clones xD
when making this video, my target audience was new players, not specifically veterans OR those who have expansions . arguably the Virtuoso could be a cake Walk as well. core Mesmer is medium difficulty due to clone management and shattering
engineer is tedious... lots of different things to do at any given time but they are fairly durable so if say it's in the middle with Mesmer.... Mechanist is faceroll ATM lol
I generally don't understand why people claim Elementalist is difficult. The abilities are very straightforward and every weapon tends to have the exact same rotation. You won't get punished in pvp for doing fire, air, earth and water since your rotation will put you in a position where you'll cc and heal when you have to. Thief is difficult, because you must use a lot of active defense to survive; old Monk in FFXIV is difficult because of the crazy opener and pressure of maintenance.

I struggle bussed through heart of thorns as a deadeye. it felt damn near impossible! but I will admit I've been falling in love with axe carrion mirage!
also that k you for the kind words!
@@CaffeinatedDad Ive been playing a bit recently. Axe+torch mirage is such a fun combo. I'll need to pick up the expac and checkout virtuoso, just grinding out the skyscale currently. And you're welcome, keep up the good stuff
@@aaronmcleod387 :D
actually dual dagger bleed daredevil can dps hard bosses and infinite mobs with 100% sustain (never retreat / kite).
With that build, your only serious threats are nausea and having to scratch your nose. 😄
is there a place i can find this D/D build? very interested
It can facetank hard bosses, just other classes are stronger, all of them with more dps

gear = full trailblazer with krait rune
equip 1 dagger main wep set 1 dagger ofh 2nd wep set with energy and frailty sigils
dps solo against golem is 13k (with only self applied buffs). Skills can hit 3 to 5 targets so against mobs it's also very effective.
Against some bosses this is the strongest solo all build out there
My main has been thief for like 10 years and I do remember some small difficulties in the core game or HoT but most of those things were possible to cheese with stealth stuff 😆 However I did always feel it was one of the most brainless classes in PvE, (especially d/d thief or staff daredevil) But maybe the basic GW2 gameplay is just too easy so any class feels simple if you don't minmax everything
If you want to be the underdog, the rare unicorn in a group, play thief
Honestly I feel like there's less and less out there!
I do not possess "mechanical" prowess or good coordination to pull off longer combos and such. At the same time, it's THESE classes that will keep me occupied, interested and invested in the game. Simply because I have a such a long road ahead to "git gud".
I'm the same way. I cannot play monotonous clases... I need difficulty!
Idk anymore I guess for me I just love playing the hard classes in new games cause for me if it's to easy I'll get bored fast and I'd quit. That's why I try to see which classes have the most challenging specs and difficulty of mastering cause I like to torture myself but also to keep the class engaging.
I'm the same way, I gravitate towards the more difficult professions because I need the challenge!
I figured revenant would be on there because of the energy management
energy management is equally or perhaps slightly more complex that initiative management on thief IMO, while being very forgiving and being able to face tank a lot of stuff, you can pretty much mash everything on revenant and be successful, heck you can just toggle impossible odds on and off while auto-attacking and do very respectable damage.
@@Reibaku yeah, I made my first one a couple of days ago and it has been a blast to learn!
Nowhere near the level of the 3 classes mentioned in the video.
I would put slightly above the thief as far as difficulty goes because yes the energy management but you also have to deal with CDs. At least thief can spam whatever attack they want provided they have the initiative for it and their utility and elite dont consume initiative.
It's mechanically demanding, but not as punishing if you're not doing everything right.
SIR i have a question i am a thief player my parents won't allow me to put money in game and guild wars is my first mmo game so is it possible to get the shiny Armour and weapon for free for a newub like me in gw2
well in game things just take time to get... the shiny things but buying stuff only speeds along certain parts of it!
I tried a Daredevil variant, but I didn't need the extra dodge and I don't like the fact I'm loosing range on my steal.
thief has a ton of versatility but I always feel like I get slapped whenever I play lol
Weaver hits fat damage in solo parse and fractals, no utility beyond being a glass cannon though sadly, switched to critdevil for pvp
utility is usually the trade off. if your able to do lots of damage you usually can't do much else!
While illusions aren't seen often in (mmo)rpgs, I do think, that the Revenant is more unique. Invoking spirits and taking on their abilities is really awesome. I often compare it to a Warlock from DnD, who can swap their patrons 😁
Revenant ID say is also a bit challenging to play but very rewarding
I mean comparable to revenant, Mesmer both offer unique takes on classes
Surprised engineer isn't here, but I guess the elite specializations are easier than core (?)
true! and the mechanist swayed my choice for inclusion in this video!
10 years ago the 3 hardest classes were mesmer, guardian and engineer
It's crazy how times have changed... ha!
Thief? Imagine the daredevil mains watching this... Jump to win and 30k+ dps XD
I am meaning the core profession experience! the thief is a tough one to pick up and play for new players!
Ah yes. My three most played professions. Does that mean i like to suffer? 😂😂😂
legit maybe... lol but I'm probably right there with you!
If I can play thief to a medeocre level in pve, anyone can. :D
Staff & pistol/pistol daredevil for the win.
double pistol daredevil is fairly easy lol I believe at a mediocre level is all you really need
Thief high damage - ish !?( Insert maniacal laugh meme here )
personally I like the tom cruise laughing meme
Fresh air scepter/dagger wvw roaming triple word bonus score content unlocked goose step video next!
let the gooses fly!
I started play this game with ranger , then guardian , warrior , ele ( the wizard ) lastly the mesmer ... now I don't have a main class 😂✌️
Isn't it weird how often you swap profession in this game? I've changed at least 5 times lol
Probably going to get some heat for this but I've been fine with just using fire and water on my elemantalist 🤷😅
GET OUT NOW lol nah you can probably get away with only using a few elements to be honest
"Mesmer is easy to play"
True, it's easy to learn and play but it's also hard to master. I agree that it's all about confusing your enemies and using the right shatter combo. Your jobs are to steal points, cc support and assassinating distracted enemies. Don't button mash if you wanna live longer
it's fun to pick up and play but man to play well you have to be meticulous!
nice vid!,i just descovered someting after a month of playing gw2,maining catalyst,of all 9 classes only elementalist and guardian do not have BOON REMOVING skills, the only way is sigil of absorption, you need to have hearth of thorns and itzel mastery,or get 60 levels in WvW to unlock the vendors, poison is very strong as it scales intensity but a pure power build can still use the 33% reduced healing effect, again poison is rare, only classes that have it built in are ranger, thief, necro, but others can have it just not as easy or effective(catalyst can use grand finale trough an earth spehere for a poison combo but it only lasts 2 seconds),so sigil of doom is the best option as it gives 8 seconds of poison from any atack and has a 9 second ICD,slow is maybe the strongest condition but only elite specs get acces to it,the only core spec with slow is mirage, and elementalist is the only class to not have acces to slow no matter what, having a trait or skill that spams weakness on the enemy and stealing boons is stronger than using actual defencive cooldowns or even defencive boons imo, scourge can have 3 weapons skills that remove boons,3 utility skills that remove boons and an elite skill that removes boons at the same time, but then you dont have hard cc,i think i finaly understand how classes are balanced in pvp, some are great at stalling a 1v1,some will quickly finish a 1v1 and then you have specs that only realy work in teams, healers, alac or quickness supports,or any support dps that cant hold their own 1v1 but will be super effective if just one extra person is supporting, there is no trinity, ranged vs melle doesnt matter, its just an equation of boons and conditions plus unique mechanics,so necro shoud, mesmer clones and distortion, reaper elite skill and conjured frost bow freeze(non stun breakable CC),tempest elite skill that negates death for whole party, guardian elite mass ress and so on.
if every meta class has all boons and condi cleanse, and every group in pvp has one person minimim to remove boons, the only thing that makes the meta is these unique mechanics
Damm u are so pro even after a month imagine if we give u a year
@@Psykeded nah im bad at games so i learn them first its like ocd,i may be wrong on some of the info but feel free to correct it i will learn better becouse of it,like i WAS wrong about guardian not having boon removing skills, tehnicly a dragon hunter can create a light combo field and use a projectile finisher for a combo, that combo will remove 1 boon from enemy
As a new player I boosted a mesmer oh my .... pain
I did that with my engineer and I had a tough learning curve...
I love the idea of an assassin class but... I dont like condi. And while power dd deadeye seems ok-ish for raids (as I saw from other people not played raids ar all)I am unsure people will accept that in fractals.
I really wish they would expand onto fractals! I would love to have more content there!

Engineer is second hardest profession in general to play after Elementalist.
But hey, this is just my opinion. And fully based on PvE content. I have so far only played 24/27 classes in GW2 ^^ Missing DragonHunter, Willbender and Catalyst. Also here is how I rank them form hardest to easiest:
1)Elementalist
2)Egnineer
3)Mesmer
4)Revenant
5)Thief
6)Guardian
7)Ranger
8)Warrior
9)Necromancer
Thief in PvE is no way harder to play than Engineer.
But Power Daredevil is Dodge 2 AA (Auto-Attack) with burst phase using assassin signet 👍
And Condi Daredevil is Dodge 3 AA while spamming utilities off cooldown and using F1 😂
Also Condi Specter is 333 spam with F1 2 5 4 2 F1, spam utilities off cooldown and when you can't F1 nor 3 you press Healing Skill for Stealth and 1 for extra bit of dps 😂 which can be ignored so you spam 333 with utilities and when you have no initiative you press F1 2 5 4 2 F1 which is one of the easiest builds to play.
Rifle holosmith 2 kits while Sword Holosmith 1 kit but you have F5 Holoforge which adds 5 more skills 👍 so on Rifle Holosmith youhave 30 active skills ot be used 👍 but bonus is you don't have to worry about over heating unlike on Sword which depending who you ask is either easier or harder build to play 😂 and Condi Mehcnaist is using 3 kits Mortor, Grenade and Bomb kits 😱 at least you can set commands on Auto-Cast so no more F1 F2 F3 spam 😂
I can see why you would rate Mesmer higher than Engineer but Thief?!? THIEF?!?
no seriously 🤤 please do open up your tough progress Why is Thief Harder to play than Engineer? Feel free to use any other argument beside Power Mechanist is easy to play 😼
That was before Mechanist existed. Now Engi has been demoted to Guardian level of easiness 😆
@@oliverdevega Specter is even easier than Mechanist 🤣 Grenade kit is way harder to use than shroud and both classes just spam rest of the skills.
Condi Virtuosa is also extremely easy to play and even better dps than either of these two 😅
Arguing Engineer is easy because one specific build means every thing is easy ^^ even Elementalist F1 overload spam 234567890 off cooldown condi tempest. Even Waver has easy build where you attune F1 F1 F4 spam sll but earth 5 ^^
This video becomes pointless if you say engineer is easy because pMechanist is easy to play 🤨 so because easy builds the hardestclass to play is actually Warrior? Requiring more skill on all 3 builds than Ele Engi and Mesmer?
lol I get to utilize all of these points for a video :D you are right in some regards but I'm looking at specifically the new player experience. engi is tough but forgiving for new players
@@CaffeinatedDad All professions have both easy and hard to play builds for all end game as well leveling 👍
We also have the knowledge how the classes work so we can say which is easiest and hardest but as you point out a new player knows nothing and thus some professions might be harder for new players 👍
Taking in to account that heavy professions are usually easier because they can take more beating 😅
Thus Thief is more vulnerable than Engineer and Revenant while they might be harder classes to play you are also more likely to survive on those builds where Thief can pop like a balloon more easily 😂 thus Elementalist is The King of The Downstate DPS
But at the same time Thief being more killable does not mean it is harder profession 🤔 you can easily run pistol/pistol and range dps or dagger/dagger and backstab enemies down quickly. The survibility is more about what gear you have where while leveling you want to invest for some defensive stats and a lot for dps stats 👍 higher dps means you kill enemies faster and killing enemies faster makes you feel stronger... talking about my own experience running full healing gear on Thief thinking it is so weak stacking stealth to keep my self alive ... after looking up Pistol/Pistol range power dps going full berserker and just smelting enemies made the game that much more enjoyable 👍
While you do not need a build to level from 1 to 80 I highly recommend looking up Metabattle for leveling guides 😏 the difference can be that you kill an enemy in 15 seconds or 1 second 😂 oh that is my own testing I made meme build that was build to suck and it took 15 second to kill an enemy when I could kill two enemies in proper leveling build under 2 seconds 👍 second/enemy ...
What are your plans for Warrior, Revenant and Engineer? ;)

true, this is more based off of core classes!
Bruh, mesmer elite spec - mirage is Guild Wars 2 on easy mode, can solo bounties dungeons and more just go with Staff/Staff Viper stats

@@CaffeinatedDad 100% agree 💀🤣
I generally don't understand why people claim Elementalist is difficult. The abilities are very straightforward and every weapon tends to have the exact same rotation. You won't get punished in pvp for doing fire, air, earth and water since your rotation will put you in a position where you'll cc and heal when you have to. Thief is difficult, because you must use a lot of active defense to survive; old Monk in FFXIV is difficult because of the crazy opener and pressure of maintenance.
it's less about the rotation and more just the low toughness and HP. it feels like you get smacked hard fast!
