This series could do a whole season of just former Bad Boy artists, lol
When you really think about it😅 diddy really ONLY helped BIGG career.
kk3382 and that’s sad 😂😂😂 When they leave, they LEAVE!
FACTS!!!
Lol
Facts
Ryan Leslie don’t get enough credit, RECOGNITION... I love you was a huge hit, Ryan Leslie was behind that era of hits 👏🏽
I swear, and Cassie wouldve been huge if she would've stuck with him..
Yep and Diddy did him dirty and took both his girl and his music 😳🤨 And for the record Ryan is a GREAT talent 💯
He does all the music on STAR .. the TV show
FACTS! He is criminally underrated. 💯
I love Ryan Leslie...
Diddy literally ruins every one of his artist’s career
Nami Yes he does
Nami to many artists to manage. That’s what B5 stated in a interview
Girl yes!
Yesssssss. He certainly does
Shelby Travis yes! And I loveee B5 till this day. If they were under better management/label at the time, they would’ve gotten so much more exposure
Bad boy was the worst.
Puffy sitting on a billion and every artist on bad boy dont have 2 nickels to rub together...
A damn shame!! None of the original artists are there, and that’s not even a coincidence.
They never go further then him.
How do you think he got to sit on millions?
You mean like every other label?
Right smh!
Cheri Dennis should’ve been with Pharrell she had an eclectic vibe
Agreed like kelis
That’s so easy to say. That’s so easy to do.
Facts
They would have been magic like the neptunes are with Kelis!
Well lately the neptunes screwed Kelis over.
P Diddy has a long long history of giving out dead contracts that went no where.
That is true.
True
Did you actually watch??? She said Diddy gave her money for years. Itsnot his fault her career went nowhere
Miss Dera Dennis I feel bad for Janelle Monae in 20 years
I take it you think that other record companies/labels don't have what you describe as "dead contracts"?
Yall mad at her because she wanted to sing her music her way. Don't act like more than half of Puff artists ain't out now because of him. lol
JustSy Things every artist deserves to do their music the way they want
JustSy Things I heard puffy is a BITCH - I never heard of her but she sounds good
Well y sign ?
@Sentraille X thank you! Puffy is out for puffy! You can be out all day but at the end of the day that check matters.
Ecactly...he always seemed overbearing to me and after BIG became his biggest rap artist he got really big headed. Once Big died it seemed like Bad Boy fell off. Most of the former Bad Boy artist left because Of Diddy
She has been holding all this in for years and finally got this off her chest.
Yawn. She should’ve gotten into acting . Disney , nickalodian. Yeah. She ain’t legendary as a singer.
We need 1 of these on Nicole Wray
Update: I've seen the Nicole Wray episode. 👍🏾👍🏾
Yesss
So crazy you mentioned her name.Just a few days ago I actually called my sister and asked her did she take my Nicole Wray cd back in the day😂 Yes BET we want to know what's going on with Nicole these days.
Right!!
Otis Thelonius yessssss
I love Nicole Wray I follow her on Instagram
Finally know what Rich Dollaz does in the industry aside from managing artists on Love & HipHop.
😂😂😂 MANAGING that's what he does. In my solija boy voice.
Tifffany Cabbell 😂
@@tifffanycabbell6803 LMAO!!! 😂😂😂💀💀💀
He managed Olivia duh 🙄 lol 😂
Rita Alexandria only on love and hip hop
Ryan Leslie deserves his flowers! He really did he all define an era...literally a musical genius 😭❤️
Why TF do she look so different?! I'm the only one thinking that?
Shannon’s Random no it’s not just you...
I was thinking it She looks like 2 totally different people
It's the make up smh
Lighting and makeup.
She grew up and went natural. Its not 2005 anymore
I remember working with her on a photo shoot many years ago. As serious as she was, she was really cool. I'm happy to see she's still out here.
Cool
That's what's up.
You're so pretty 😍😍
I Love You is a 2000s R&B classic! Cheri reminds me of Keisha Spivey from Total.
nubia's portrait i was JUST about to type this lol
I loved her music....
Was bumpin tht today on the way home from work
Yes, I remember liking that song. And I knew she reminded me of someone
nubia's portrait I thought it was Keisha when scrolling past.
Now I get why he loved Dawn so much!! She was his second chance to get another Cheri.....
Sarai Juelz they was on Bad Boy at the same time
I see that too.
@@chrisgreatness6953 yes, but Dawn was in a group as Cheri was leaving. If you remember, Diddy broke up Dainty Kane not too long after, which freed Dawn up. He could do what he wanted wanted with her since he kept Dawn in a contract
DOPEITSALEX Dawn was wit Bad Boy from 2005-2012, Cherri Dennis was there for almost that whole time. She left in 2010
DOPEITSALEX it’s crazy when people blame the girls for breaking up Danity Kane when it was a clear ploy for him to use Dawn for his project.!
Diddys artists never go further than he does, and as far as I’m concerned that’s not a coincidence.
Elijah Hayes Mary faith biggie.....okayyy
@Shakia Mcfadden definitely!!
So Rich Dollarz is a real industry dude. Love & Hip Hop made me think he was a clown.
positive1 Oh I’m sure he is still a damn clown! LAHH shows that!!!
Rich & Stevie worked in the industry for years & both worked for Bad Boy as well.
Most ppl on LHH are there for a reason.
D_money So true...smh! Mona is the devil!
Saroja Jenkins She really is!
I wanna see an episode of Amerie, Nicole Wray, Teedra Moses, and Vita from Murder Inc
Yes, Amerie, Nicole Wray, and Vita...Never heard of Teedra Moses

The blogger Empressive have a mini documentary about Amerie

I want Tracie Spencer, Mona Lisa, Tevin Campbell or Shanice Williams on here
That's by a long ass shot though lol
Kai Alexandria they unsung
Yeah, you went too far. This is probably 2000s-ish
Yeah definitely Mona Lisa, I think Tevin Campbell has one one here, a channel covered him, I saw it recently.
Kai Alexandria I forgot all about Mona Lisa
I WANT TO SEE MONA LISA! I MISS HER SO MUCH!😭
"I Love you" will always bang to me. BET do Jimmy Cozier since she brought him up, "She's All I Got" was a classic as well!!!
I liked that song by him as well.
Yes! That was my song!
And while you're at it, BET, throw in Mario Winans, Carl Thomas and Loon (if you can find him lol).

Uh no its not dummy. Use google next time
She was never with him. They've done music together of course but she was never on his label😏
Cassaundra bates Yes she was. mart J Blige was the original “First Lady of Bad Boy” and was pushed to the back (attention wise) because Faith started foolin around with Biggie, so she was pushed more.
@@theculturalconfusion7748 Mary J Blige has always been on MCA records not Bad Boy. Puffy did production for her but she was never on his record label.
A user,scammer, pimp and finesser

that girl had one official popping song. that will always be a classic but das it. :(
@@devin837 she had a lot more than just one song her story needs to be told you will be in for a loop go listen to her unreleased second album you will be blown away
Brianna follow the ig @dsrolldens
I think if Cheri was allowed a bit of creative freedom she would be a bigger name in the industry. People respond to authenticity and things they can relate to. Being that she was molded and pressed into a shape that wasn’t a reflection of her true self was the disconnect.
Diamonds and Fuzzy slippers thats is FACT Ari Lennox is a great example of this. She doesn’t get performative talking about things out of reach for most because she didn’t come from that. Artists like that are gems and are a reflection of the ppl that gives them their opportunity! Shoutout to J Cole
Diamonds and Fuzzy slippers yup !
I agree
Yes I agree. I liked her music growing up as a kid
Make it first and gain value then you can do your own thing your way.
"I Love You" was on repeat in 06 and im a dude lol that song use to bang hard. That Bad Boy curse is real man!
Same here, but the original version with Black Rob.
Don't understand why anyone would sign to him
Nick Lee bruh same!!! Especially when they played it on making the band! Haha Fire

Conrad Murray 😂😂😂💯
Released is when they are under contract but they allow the artist to walk away without legal repercussion, typically initiated by the artist. Dropped is when the contract doesnt get renewed or the label decides not to keep an artist, a process initiated by the label.

Ummm ... so people are saying she has a bad personality because she's an ARTIST that wanted to have a say in her ART?
Joshua McCool I think she comes off a bit arrogant and she keeps talking about what she doesn’t like as opposed to what she likes. She comes off like a bitter ex employee lol
I think it was the shade to Faith
Cause I agree with her but I disagree with those comments for sure
If you’re an artist or a creative person then you understand where she comes from. Artists are sensitive about their art. Ppl who have nothing to offer will never, ever understand that.
Agree with you , but she seems like a nightmare to work with
She's was an employee of Badboy. If she wanted to be an "artist"... be independent...
No artist has free reign there are people behind everyone.
Diddy paid her more than most people who actually sold records lol

nailed it. i was trying to find out who she reminds me of. that's it!
Did she really try to shade Faith Evans, who has contributed multiple classics hits to R&B? Girl Bye 😂😂😂
She was being sarcastic!
She was shading the song, not Faith
Even Faith had issues with puffy she just keeps it classy as she always have!!
@@Beaudful6 Exactly people always trying to make something out of nothing, just pathetic

April D lol girl you tried it .
Bad Boy is really a vehicle for him. The artists are really "The help".
You get it. Badboy was created to give diddy rap credibility...he just needed artists...like a french Montana to ghost write and make his songs hotter
She just needed to be independent. She didn’t like anything because she didn’t have enough creative control.
Asiah Walker that’s exactly what it was!
The Bad Boy curse. Every artist or group that signed to Bad Boy either fell of hard or left and went to someone else. Name me one Bad Boy act that is still hot today? I'll wait.

Jupiter Stars yes WORK !
And you had to have actual talent !
Her friend helped her, she moved to new york and got a record deal instantly. what work is that?
Faith's I love you wasn't for her, but that song truly is an excellent song. It fit Faith and her style beautifully. When I think of Faith, my mind goes right to that album. Such a complete and quality work.
Love the entire album
I can't see anyone else singing that but Faith. That's still an awesome song. The shade from Cheri toward that song is so obvious.
And how would u know.....
Yea it wasnt going 2 be right with her voice anyways..faith Evans win at the end of the day

Faithfully by Faith Evans was a solid album tf she talking about. 🥴
jasmine a classic she buggin
lol true and she was just hating since she never had the kind of success she had since faith is the first lady of bad boy so she carried a lot of weight for a long time when she was at the height of her career and still writing records for other artist til this day.
exactly
jasmine gadson
It didn’t sale... that’s what she’s talking about
She isn’t hating she said the song wasn’t for her but it was a good song for faith . Y’all be making stuff in heads. Comprehension is fundamental.
She doesn’t have a bad attitude she just didn’t want to be phony, all she wanted to was to be herself.
That's what it seem to me.
She referred to her own self as being obnoxious tho...soooo...🤷🏽♂️
That's what I took from her interview too.
I agree. She's talking about 15 years ago. Now artist are more free. Imagine being able to write , being creative and seeing a vision. And not able to produce it or show the world. Slot of artist have the image, they can't write so they pay song writers. She was dope but never got to be herself. So yeah it would come of as combative or negative, but it's not. I feel sorry for her
Its not what you do its how you do it
She didn't understand the business and how it works. And she probably had poor management.
Never even heard of her but I'll watch it anyway

@@QueenM3. There's nothing wrong with you. I only saw her on TV once. And where I'm from, they only played "Portrait of Love" occasionally on our contemporary R&B station. It wasn't mainstream enough for Top 40 radio nor did it really fit in the contemporary R&B station. The song had to grow on me over the years. I only knew "I Love You" from "Making the Band."
Faith Evans can sing circles around you Cheri!
And the single peaked at #14 on Billboard 100 and #2 on the R&B charts. Oh and the album that didnt do much is certified Platinum. Where's her certified album??? Hell where her certified single??.... I'll wait
She wild for that statement.
Right. Idk why she trying to shade Faith. Faith is legendary. Faith sings down live!!!
@Cetrion oh I have to disagree Faith is def a stronger and more dynamic vocalist than her. Faith has grown and become more solid compared to her debut.
Right! I always thought Cheri Dennis was jealous of Faith. That comment confirmed it. Regardless of the success of that song. Faith is a better all around artist vocally and creatively.
Is it just me but i feel like she wouldve been better with Pharrell and N.E.R.D.? She gives me Kelis vibes as far as the style she described.
Ashley M. Facts
No she doesn't please don't say that cause kelis is everything and in a lane of her own,I think Cheri is confused she doesn't know what her lane is because she puts everything into one, which less is more and when kelis does it,its effortless it's her that's why it looks good on her, cheri not so much, she should continue to find herself musically, mentally and physically, cause I'm confused by the puff bang ponytail hooped earrings makeup choice and the dimple surgery that is evident!!! Ooh and the music at the end is clearly evident that she is not in tune with her voice, she still needs to be in search of that cause it ain't working in my lauren hill voice!!!
@@valeo3508 what i mean is Pharrell wouldve been more accepting of her wanting to switch up her style and being different with the music
@@LoveHal0 agreed
Ashley M. Yes🙌🏽. They are both eclectic in their own way
Faithfully was a great album went Gold earned a Top 14 spot on Billboard, the single I love you went to #14 on Billboard, on the R&B Chart it went to #2. Cheri Dennis album peaked on Top 200 #74, her lead single that we know her for peaked at #38 on the R&B Charts and didn't chart on the Top 200. So, the shade towards Faith is very unwarranted..be mad at yourself for what you wanted to accomplish but didn't.

PERIOD
Right! I Love You is one of my fav songs by Faith. Shorty was buggin' with that one. 💯🤨
Exactly. Cause you had a chance. And you failed.
Thank you!!! Like a case of selective amnesia... stand out songs for me "you gets no love" "faithfully" "I love you" "burning up" "can't believe" "Alone in this world" I mean the album wasn't an absolute beginning to end classic but let's not be bitter and petty like it was completely slept on🤷🏾♀️

It’s funny that Diddy attracts eclectic black women but the only eclecticism on the “label” rests on Cassie’s shoulders. BET failed to look further into that concept seeing as how Cherri Dennis was label mates with Danity Kane and how Dawn Richard forged her path in EDM and genre reimagining.
I liked “I love you” and “Portrait of Love” because I believed that Cherri could evolve from those tracks and become herself but unfortunately she wasn’t given transparency. I feel like when you’re given a team it’s imperative that they truly understand who they’re working with in order to please the client and fan base concurrently. It’s easy for a label to transform someone until they lose site of who they are while ranking in millions from an artist simply trying to adapt to a concept that doesn’t come naturally. Some ppl aren’t built for that type of pressure and doesn’t allow personal growth happen.
She looks like a whole other person. I never would have recognized her. Her story is sad though I liked her and feel like her talent was exploited and then wasted. Diddy’s the only one who benefited.
Girl, JLo ain't write no damn songs. Ever. Never.

Facts.
Cheri Dennis sounds like she didn’t trust the process, was picky, wasn’t humble, wasn’t grateful, and didn’t deserve the opportunity.
Rob The Moment A Visual Co No she isn’t. She was her own person and knew who she was but THE INDUSTRY gave her a persona/personality, in which she didn’t need because it wasn’t her.
Geesh
Why u suprised????...THATS 99% OF BLACK WOMEN
Voice of Reason 4u I truly don’t agree with you. What a gross generalization.
Nurse Rawkii Joy I’ll parallel her with the singer Pink. When she started out, she had an R&B sound and marketing. LA Reid told her to trust his process. Her first album did pretty well. Her next album she got more creative control and got to be more of herself.
The music business, especially back then gave you an identity. That’s what A&R was for. She didn’t trust the process. Unless you built your rep before getting signed like being major as an underground artist or you hit big your first time out the gate, you become who your investors aka the label tell you who to be.
She needs therapy. And I think she was a bit difficult to work with.
I agree seems like she complained alot

Frfr😒
Word 👆
Okay you see what he did to day26 and danity kane 😒👌🏾
@@jazmineleno1414 had them walking to Brooklyn for Junior's Cheesecake. That was definitely a red flag🙄
This was good. Very authentic. I’m glad she shared her story ❤️
I remember her she was a one hit wonder..she just didn’t have it to me...she gave me brook valentine vibes
Tru ...brook valentine
Damn not Brooke. 😂😂.. Brooke Valentine is a hot ass mess
One hit wonder? What's this 1 hit you speak of. I never even heard of this chick before today. No shade either.
geminidaprince84 she got song called I love you ft Jim jones it was a hit but everything else fell short
No she gives me Nivea vibes y’all tripping for real personality style fashion everything about her remember me of Nivea
Moral of the story...DON'T sign a Bad Boy Contract!!!
Period
A. Tanyale you said it, Sean can find some amazing voices out there. I've seen it with Danity Kane, Day 26 and Cheri Dennis. They are so amazing and I so miss them out there. I wish they would have gotten with the man who signed Whitney Houston and Alicia Keys. He was able to do some amazing work with them and not throw them away. I think it's Clive Davis. Danity and Cheri would have been amazing with his label.
@@shaiyaraina3 I'm a 90s kid so I definitely can't stand Puff P Diddy Daddy lol. He jacks up career's and parties on their tab. He needs his axx beat.
@AFROMEX REIGNSUPREME it sholl is. I'm glad Faith, The Lox, and Kim got away.
@@brahmabkitty03 I am so with you on the 90's but I'm just a little older and like the people from back in the day, the ones who don't get any air play! I saw this behavior so much with him and wish they, the people did also when they were looking for a label to sign them. Most of them were so desperate to be noticed that they thought he would have helped them. I knew better and would never had gone through him to try and get my career started. I wish some of these labels weren't so about the dollar dollar bill and would recognize the vocal skills of some of these artist. They are so amazing! if I had the money A. Tanyale, I would go back and get some of them and pay to have them release their music. Danity Kane's first CD was so amazing. Day 26, the same. I miss that kind of singing today being from the old school. People back in the day didn't need the equipment to help them sing. They could walk out on stage and sing without anyone's help. Today I've listened to people even come on here and try and sing without the sound board. WALGREENS SALES EARPLUGS REAL CHEAP!
Truly respect her honesty. She kept it real and her story
She’s full of integrity&Talent & that’s a blessing to have 🙏🏾💚✨
I really like Cheri Dennis and always felt that she never received the push that she deserved. Artists have to remain true to themselves. I am pleased to learn that not only was she always true to herself, but that she never gave up and continue to reinvent her artistry that reflected her identity. I look forward to seeing and hearing more from her. This was a great spotlight!
“I Love You” is probably my fave Faith Evans songs. I still have that one in my R&B playlist!
Denise G right! She sounds like a HATER!!
I said the same thing she is just a low key hater oh well 🤷🏽♀️
I really like her candor and transparency! I’m glad she seemed to always fight for her individuality! I wouldn’t mind hearing new music from her.
I used to listen to her all the time on cita who remembers cita.🙄older and seasoned I know lol
I keep seeing comments about her being "difficult"😒😒...no, it just sounds like she knows the direction and sound SHE wanted and nobody was listening to her. Any REAL artist takes their craft seriously and doesn't want to sing songs or have an image that DOESN'T reflect them. Nothing wrong with trying to stay authentic to your own vision. Maybe she would've gone further if she had the proper team to support HER direction. Ijs
najmaj that’s how I looked at it too. These people have low comprehension skills
I hear what you’re saying, but if that’s truly what she wanted she signed with the wrong label. Bad Boy is not known for artistic freedom. So while she had a vision, if she wasn’t in a situation that allowed her to do her, she was doomed before she started. This is the music business and they were trying to make her into what they saw as a viable product.
That part but now she just seem so bitter
najmaj even if you have ur own direction u still gotta be able to vibe with folks ..
najmaj she has a hard face lile she hard to deal with
Her attitude is terrible. Faith still has a career and I didn’t even know who Cherri was
Same here...I’ve never heard of her... 👀 and what’s crazy is she was out when I was in high school...and I do not remember her AT ALL.... I don’t remember her songs or nothing...
Right ! She got her nerve
E. Gibson ??????
Dakota Johnson how?
How is her attitude terrible? And Faith does not have much of a career either.Matter of fact none of the Bad Boy acts do,except for Puffy.Cheri can sang.Puff just didn't push her like he should of.It's not her fault. She was right about the I love you record it did not fit her.And that song did not pop for Faith either and the album overall did not do to well at all which was her lead single for that album.I think her case is similar to that of the same Jimmy Cozier she mentioned.Clive Davis didn't push him either. He was signed to J records sametime with Alicia, but obviously got overshadowed. So Complete is classic chit. And she was right that record could of been a big hit.It really wasn't her fault. She is very talented and I don't think it's it or her.
We need a Finding:Bad Boy Former Artists. 💯🤔🤭
When she said “I’m dope”, I felt that. 💯
Honestly, Cherie Dennis should've just sat down and be humble, she probably would be relevant today 🤷🏾♀️
Yes just make your money and be yourself after working
🎶sit down. Bitch be humble🎶
- Kendrick Lamar voice
She's relevant enough for you to be watching her video..lmao losers.
No secret Bad Boy has sketchy business practices. How many folks came out under this label, AND went no where?
I think she was misunderstood and didn’t get the chance to evolve within the public eye. She looks good and is still talented.
morenYAH delsur ummm, that’s the music biz period
She wanted the look that today’s females artists are portraying now.
This was very much needed lol, but Yall need to do Da Band Next
Her arrogance is UNWARRANTED.
Gurlllllll Faith Evans I love you is everything then and now...Don’t do her
Yea didn't like her joke about Faith
Don't
I agree. The song, video, vocals... everything was on point .
@@tvan6625 me neither. It showed how tacky her personality is.
thisissunshine1 right!! I had to stop listening to the interview after she said that shit
cheri on Faith Evan's Faithfully album: "that album didn't really doing anything."
Pretty sure Faith's album went further than yours. Never seen it for her then, or now.
So she killed her career🤦🏾♂️
M. Flint basically
M. Flint yep
That's what I'm hearing.
He killed her career like he done many others...
Yes
She made herself sound like she was difficult to work with smh
And she has zero self awareness because she's clueless how she's coming across.
Sorry Puff. I blamed u for her demise but she did it all to herself
Exactly ! She is horrible . Terrible personality
I was really trying to be nice but I agree. I understand what she meant by not being who they told her to be but as a new artiste I think she would have gone further if she showed some level of respect or willingness to work with the situation until she had the footing to do something better.
@@KamisKisses Agree💯
Chanel Chanel that cause she a creator and she didn't really get to flex her creativity the way she want, if u don't create music then u can't relate
